I was in ER last night with a friend who's willing to be my 2nd pair of ears I had complained of a painful bladder infection I had a very rude nurse saying "oh you re back again" and what's the plm So I basically told her and she was not nice to me or didn't even believe me about how I was feeling with the need to empty my bladder and hurts to pee so she took me to the back and did ultrasound and said
there's no urine in bladder and told me rudely that I'm peeing etc she did catheterization she did a horrible and hurtful job I decided to leave and she was not happy at all What a rude nurse! The compassion and caring is gone! Our health system is truly broken

Terrible hospital, waiting for 8 hours only because they're not organized! I Would give them 0 if there is an option for it!

I checked the ER wait times before I left home and Juravinski was only a 33-minute wait. Only two people ahead of me when I got there so I felt good about getting seen in a reasonable amount of time. It took 20 minutes of waiting just to be able to tell them I was waiting. The triage window was without a nurse for 15 minutes. When I asked for an eta at the three-hour mark, the nurse said there are people who have been waiting for 5 hours. I was done waiting. This isn't reasonable by any standards. This isn't a third world country. But this is how we're treated and then we're judged for reacting to the way we're treated.

Can't really say I "enjoyed my stay"! As a "frequent flyer", I've been in many medical facilities and Juravinski is one of the cleaner, friendlier, more modern options HHS offers. Most nurses are kind and tolerant when you treat them as you would like to be treated.

Went into the emergency today for abdominal pelvic pain. I was sad and worried about possibly having cancer again. The staff at juravinski emergency were absolutely wonderful. Kind caring attentive empathetic nurses. Especially my nurse Dani and the doctor that seen me.

The worst emergency room is have attended. My daughter had a severe bladder infection and they didn’t even look at her for 7 hours! The emerg was NOT busy. There is one white haired Nurse who is extremely rude.

The Emergency Department Team at Juravinski are a terrific group of Healthcare Professionals who have my deepest respect and gratitude for their hard work, their willingness to listen and their humanity.
These are extremely challenging times for all Hospitals and the professionals who keep them running and serving patients, despite unprecedented conditions.
I have had to turn to this ER team twice in less than a week and I have nothing but praise for the care I recieved.
The first visit left me impressed and thankful. The second visit left me convinced this is an exceptional team.
I found the two doctors I dealt with, Dr Mattina and Dr Mallin, were terrific, both were great listeners and very patient with me.
The nurses who cared for me were all excellent, including Isaac, Nicola, Lorraine and Dani.
It can't be a coincidence I encountered so many exceptional healthcare professionals in two separate visits. This has to be the result of great teamwork by people who care and are determined to demonstrate both skill and humanity under pressure.
I am deeply grateful for the care I received.

The absolute worst and rudest staff I have ever seen in my life. I was in unbearable pain and was told there were 4 people ahead of me, then 2 hours later there was 8. The clerks were extremely rude and don’t treat patients as human beings at all, then have the nerve to say “You don’t have to yell at me”. If I could rate 0 stars I would

What a disgrace to our health care system. This hospital which seems to do things differently than Hamilton Health Sciences, which they are part of. They change visitor rules daily and seems to depend on who you talk to. After all this time, after ensuring to only allow fully vaccinated visitors, wear masks, and yet they still force visitors to stand outside in Febuary as only 1 visitor is aloud in the entire hospital. On top of not being aloud to see your loved one they won't even answer the phones. If they do answer they yell at you. The only time they will bend the rules is if your loved one is about to die and you can say goodbye. Problem is they only allow this once your loved one is too far gone to even know your there. Even worse is they do not follow their own rules as staff do not havw to dollow the same rules when visiting their loved ones. As someone who has worked at another hospital in Hamilton for over 15 years now. I have never seen such horrible staff and crazy rules as here. Yet. The cancer side of the hospital, the staff are amazing. It's like they sent all the miserable clerks to the ER side.

Went in after injuring my back, security saw I could not even get in the door without collapsing so got me a wheelchair, after 3 hours, my name was called and a nurse singled me out of the other people in a wheelchair telling me to walk and because I could not she then continued to try and make me feel stupid and like I was in the wrong because I could not walk. Then while I was in the secondary waiting room the same nurse said she needed to see my walk to "assess it" and then took the wheelchair. The only thing that redeemed this visit from a 1-star review is that the doctor himself was kind, understanding and knowledgeable.

If there were a negative star, that would be what I choose. The only person that was polite or seemed to have some compassion, was the lady answering the phone for patient services. We went to Juravinski because the General and St. Joe's are absolutely horrid hospitals, so we begged the paramedics to be brought here for hope of better care, or at least a little compassion, or at least try to make it look like you care, you know, "fake it 'til you make it"? The next time we need any sort of medical assistance, we will leave Hamilton to dial 911 somewhere else. I have been in this city now for almost 16 years and have some great things to tell people about it, but our healthcare system, unfortunately, is not one of them. Our healthcare system in Hamilton was really broken before the pandemic, now it has fallen.

Emergency reception didn't give a dam. Took possible stroke patient in. Not seen for hours. No one allowed to stay to inform doctors.

My doctor told me to go to emergency as I was experiencing lots of pain, The made me wait 10hours, before any even looked at me, once the doctor came in she asked me what my problem was so I told her and she said according to previous blood test I was fine and my doctor shouldn't of sent me, She never checked anything so they sent me away still not knowing what's wrong with me and still in massive pain. Something needs to be do with the doctors the especially the woman doctor that worked last night (June 7 a heavy set woman)

I complete prescription delaying acquisition of medicine. Prescription without directions about how many pills to take and how to take them as well. Name of doctor not possible to be read by pharmacist. Called ER couple hours ago, today,
to find out about those information and attendant was so rude.

I waited a total of 7 hours just to be told there was nothing wrong and to leave even though I am still in excruciating pain. Last night one of the nurses was very rude and made me cry and today I could hear the nurses chatting about how I didnt need/deserve a bed and one of the nurses was very loudly complaining about patients and coworkers the whole time I was there today. It is also very dirty. I saw dried blood on the floor in my room, there was a spill on the cart that was not cleaned, no surfaces were sanitized etc. There was also a suspected positive covid case and this person used the washroom and doors etc and no one sanitized afterwards. Go somewhere else! I have never been so mistreated in a medical facility in my life and I do not normally leave reviews but I am disgusted at how I was treated.

I understand that healthcare can be challenging and that Ontario hospitals are a bit of a circus at the best of times, but we have had almost entirely bad experiences at this ER. Inexperienced doctors/residents, overzealous contagious-disease monitors, and nurses ignoring cries of pain from multiple beds. One would think an ER annexed to a Cancer Centre would have been the ideal choice for a chemo patient, but that was not the case. The best resident we had of all the times we ended up here was actually from Hamilton General, covering a shift at this ER. The last time we needed hospitalization during chemo, we made the drive to Toronto General (PMH patient) to avoid going here.

At the time, there was no free WiFi nor were our phones able to connect to the data network, so maybe consider bringing a book for the wait.

Only the young male nurse at the front desk at emergency is good.the doctors are in rest while leaving the patients for hours

On September 6 th I came to ER with severe pain in mine lower abdomen, spreading to upper back, chills, cough, headache, muscle aches, diarrhea. After waiting 4 hours patients pointed to the doctor that I'm being there way before them. Shockingly, doctor answer that new doctor will come and assist very sick patients. Is that a joke? The doctor on duty could've assisted me, order tests and new doctor would have them ready. I feel like I need to go more public with such a treatment.

I’m actually still admitted. But so far the staff have been highly respectful, very helpful, extremely kind, and they do such a good job.

I just want to thank you all health care workers a bunch for being here when people like me, and many others, are in need of your care and expertise. You all work so hard, try so hard, and cooperate so well together to ensure us the best patient care possible.

Thank you so much everyone, this is a great location if you’re in need of help with a serious emergency. The teams here really do CARE for you.

This is a classic example of why hospitals should be partly privatized. People with very serious conditions waited incredible amounts of time. Absolutely ridiculous.

Doctors are fair, but nurses here are RUDE. I did not catch the name of this young, short female nurse with blonde hair who looked after my father, will try to catch it next time. Unbelievable

Worst experience ever at an ER. My 83yr old mother was brought in via ambulance at 8pm with a head laceration. Didn't get patched up until 5am and that's only because I ran out of patience and started complaining. The staff was content with ignoring us while they chatted and played on their phones
