KaKa All You Can Eat

Probably the best sushi place in Markham for me. The food is amazing. Went there for lunch and opted for the dinner menu for the all you can eat. Everything was fresh and tasty. The quality of the ingredients was also really good. The staff were helpful and friendly. Definitely coming back over and over again.

This has become my favourite all you can eat sushi place out there. I find nothing can compare to it. It's always fresh and delicious. Can't wait to return!

They shut down the washrooms, all you can eat, and started mopping with heavy chemicals one hour before they closed. They even turned off the heat and the lights one hour early. It was very disrespectful and I am never going there again.

Came here expecting something different than the usual all you can eat sushi but came away very disappointed. They have good marketing which is what drew me in. But in reality this is about the same as most AYCE places - perhaps even a notch below some. And they are way overpriced for what you get. The service was good and attentive and the food came fairly fast after ordering so that was positive.

Aside from being a little bit pushy about last call (and, admittedly, not *that* pushy), perfect experience.

Been meaning to try this place out for a while so finally got delivery. Really surprised how good their sushi is. Solid job. Will order from again.

Remember a lesson from our ancestors: Cheap is not good! ! (Besides, this one is not cheap.) When I met with friends, I chose this AYCE Japanese food lunch. When I entered the door, I was asked by the waiter, "Is the lunch menu or the dinner menu? " At that time, there was an ominous feeling. I ordered the "lunch menu", so many of the dishes we wanted to see were not seen. The dishes we ordered were pitifully small, and the black pepper beef was one of the more "big" dishes. It was served on a small soy sauce dish, the meat can almost be compared with edamame; I finally saw two or three kinds of sashimi sushi, and the things that came up were about the size of my index finger. Giving one star is too much! Even so for lunch, dinner can be imagined. Merchants, please respect yourself and ask for more blessings.

Didn't expect such a quality meal here! The sushi was really good. We had a great time. Would recommend.:)

The appetizers are super tasty, the food is always delicious, and the atmosphere is very calm and comfortable.

Post COVID everything has gone downhill. The food and service is mediocre at best. If you want all you can eat sushi I would think that there are better places out there.

This was recommended to me by a co-worker as she highly praised the torches sushi.

My initial reaction was “racism. ” The lady in the front didn’t check the QR code of the asian people in front of us but did check our QR code. So I was off put by that. The waiter didn’t introduce him or her self. So far the restaurant is looking bad.

Next was the water. You are provided a pitcher of water which tasted more acidic. Disgusting after taste.

One of the cups provided to us had a hole in it. Literally water was pouring out the bottom.

K wanted to walk out so bad but I also was hungry and had to eat the food to get a sense if this place is truly worth it for the price they charge.

The upside did trickle through when the food came out. The miso soup and corn soup was bleh. The sushi rolls were alright, more in the dry side. If the sushi rolls had sauce, it was more in the watery base. The sashimi wasn’t good quality, cold cut. The Korean fried rice was okay as it hinted sweetness to its flavour palette. The chicken skewer was good. The shrimp skewer was okay. The lamb skewer was good! The seasoning is exactly the same seasoning used in “Chat Bar. ” The the garlic beef was good, to me it was essentially minced garlic and soy sauce and other sauces. The cold tofu was okay. The special rolls weren’t special at all, meh. The highlight torched sushi… was meh. I like the butterfish torched the most. But the rest was meh. The beef wrap enoki mushrooms were good.

The highlight was probably dessert. I don’t see passion fruit yogurt in other places so that was neat.

I hope the restaurant see this to improve their service and quality of food served from the high price they charge.

Would I come again? Maybe. If I see them not check other peoples QR code and check ours. I’d def walk away and officially call the “racist” card.

Done in lunch available but it's not the same quality as pre covid, feels like different management, different chef, different service. Same price range though. Won't be returning

Overall consistent Food. Sometimes your order may come later so, you may want to order extra of what you like, cause it may take some time for it to come if you want a second order

One of our favourite spots for sushi. They have a wide selection of sushi & other Japanese foods. Everything is absolutely delicious and love their platters. We usually call for takeout and order hours ahead of time for pickup. However, the downside is that this place does tend to get busy during dinner times and there may be a chance that you would have to wait an extra 30-40 mins for your order even if you call ahead

Very nice sushi house, staffs are very nice and remove empty dishes promptly, the menu came in digital iPad so it is easier to order your choice of food items. The atmosphere are slightly dark and tables are place far apart due to covid and not too much noise from other people next to your table.

Great all you can eat.had sashimi, hand rolls, tempura and grilled meats. Time based; I believe it's all you can eat for an hour but for me thats enough time. Would come back again.

Disappointing experience.waitress was rude, didnt seem to rly care about our experience, and it was hard to get their attention to ask for anything.they took away our ipad without telling us it was our last call, then got mad at us for staying too long despite never telling us our time was up or almost up. (in my experience at other restaurants we get a 15min warning or something like that). Brought a cake since we were celebrating a bday, but they brought it out without any candles or even a knife? I thought maybe they just didnt do the whole birthday thing but when we were leaving they brought out a cake for another table with candles and even played the song on the speakers.there were also smaller problems like things we asked for never came, or the tempura not coming with any sauce, getting lots of random extra orders we didnt place.it was overall just messy and stressful.

Came back Nov, 2021 due to lack of options nearby. My comment below remains unchanged. Terrible experience.

From 3 yrs ago. Overpriced. Sushi portion was ridiculously filled with rice. The iPads they used to order food from are dirty and slow. Just an overall terrible experience, especially at that price point.

The worst service! We would order food and they would arrive at some point 20 minutes later. They even served dessert before some other sushi came along. We weren’t stuffed at all during all you can eat, never experienced that before.

Food quality is so so. There is a 1.5 hr limit for all you can eat buffet, but service was quick and orders come out quite fast.

Lovely sushi. I enjoy every bite. Also the pricing isn’t that bad considering how excellent the food is. Waiters are extremely polite, which I appreciate. I am planning to have a celebratory dinner here once COVID finally ends.

The sushi, seasonal soup & ramen were great and the takeout service was amazing too. Can't wait to come again.

One of my favorite restaurants in Markham! The takeout servers are so nice and they really know about the menu. The sushi is just perfect. Even vegetarian option and dishes with meat. Absolutely love it.

Amazing customer service and friendly staff. Food quality here is always great, and good atmosphere. Definitely one of the better sushi establishments!

The restaurant is not as good as before. They cut corners to make more profit, very disappointing. I got diarrhea! The toilet smelled like urine, dirty, horrible! Too much MSG, when we back home, we were toooo thirsty.

After one hour dinner, we were informed by the waiter that we have half hour left and we had to place the last order. This is an all you can eat restaurant! We are only allowed 1.5 hours to eat there! We were rushing out of the restaurant! What’s the point to go to restaurant? Why not fast food? And by the way, we didn’t overly order food, we all have small stomach.

The waiter told us that because we reserved the seats, we only have 1.5 hour, if we walk in, we could have two hours. But when we arrived, there were a lot of empty tables and it seems the restaurant is not as busy as before.

I asked the waiter and the manager to show us any print rule or policy that the restaurant only allow 1.5 hour eating time, they could not. We were never informed when we reserve the seats. This is not the first time we visited the restaurant, and we were never informed such a policy.

This restaurant is no longer a place to go.

I actually find the food pretty good here - especially the pressed sushi. The price is the same all week, I do think it is a bit more on the expensive side. Staff, to me, are friendly. They also have a limit on the table I believe it is 2 hours.

UPDATE: price has gone up quite a bit since I last ate here. Ordered two platters at 1230pm for New Year’s Eve and my friend tried to pick it up for me at 7 pm as instructed by them. They said they never got the order.grrrrreat

This place only has a lot of variations when it comes to sushi, especially pressed and torched sushi which they did a really good job on. However, lack of variations on hot food, they don't even have the grilled fish! Plus, the people who brought out food put plates on your napkin- excuse me but I still need that napkin. The food came fast like a hurricane, but everytime you order from the iPad, you need a waitress to come input the password, when they barely pay attention to our table, which frustrated us a lot.

Although slightly more pricey than most all you can eat sushi restaurants, Kaka very well makes up the difference in price through the quality of its food. Using much higher quality ingredients and preparation methods, you are treated to very delicately seasoned sushis with complex flavours vastly different from your typical California rolls. There is a slight caveat of one special dish per paying customer though so do keep that in mind.

As many of the others have commented already, this place used to be better than other AYCE sushi restaurants and I would have given it a 4 star after the first time I ate here. However, now that I have returned in early November 2018 I can say it is no different than other AYCE, except that in some ways it may even be worse. Don't be like me and ignore the comments here that this place has gone downhill. Food you ordered will not arrive, the staff will ignore you, you will not get timely refills or water/tea, the menu is now very restricted, they will not let you order a la carte during the evening (only at lunch). The items that should be cold will be room temp and the food that should be hot will be cold in most cases. Given all this, the price is still high for AYCE - again, used to be worth it, now definitely not. I highly recommend you spend your money and go to an a la carte sushi restaurant with much better service and food OR if you want cheap sushi, buy it from the mall or grocery store because it will still be better than Kaka and you'll save $.

I like the torch pressed sushi. You don't see them in all you can eat sushi often. I am a returning customer, and I have already been here few times. I think the food quality is great compare to other all you can eat sushi place.

15% service charge after taxes that’s fine. No service that’s the problem. Food didn’t expect for all you can eat. Only 1.5 hours push you to order dessert and pay the bill. Won’t go there any more. Good luck everyone.

For the prince asked, the quality should be a looooooooooottt better. The pictures on the iPad looks likes it’s been outside in the sun because it’s all faded. That is a bit of a turn off, it doesn’t make me crave the food. Not enough beer options.

This AYCE spot is okay and pretty decent depending on the time or day you decide to go. That being said, you may need to wait or make reservations on popular days, but usually after off-peak hours it tends to be more laid back.

We ordered a bunch of items and of course, with the ipad system, there are some faults at play like forgetting to bring a dish we chose. But of course that can be rectified just by ordering it again or asking your server.

The service was alright, not much chit chat but friendly and attentive when needed. Overall, I'd come here again and recommend if you're in the area.

So, this is an All you can eat japanese buffet. Quality wise I would say it’s pretty standard, not much surprise but sure I would give it higher grade than quite a number of them out there, why? At least the fish-rice portion for sushi or whatever was not out of portion as people usually wanted to fill you up with rice and kick you out asap.not here. You have a lot of 2 hours to consume whatever you want based on the menu, watch out that there is a special order item at the bottom which you can only order one piece per person yes that means you cannot order more one. I didn’t know.so we were two persons so we only got two pieces and the ipad system doesn’t allow me to put in more anymore.what it was like the scallop sushi and the big salmon roe sushi.so you can see from my photo.otherwise, food is pretty much standard from all kinds of AYCE.so full after eating and will i come here again in the future? Maybe i will try more different AYCE before coming back.perhaps I prefer quality than quantity, but this time wanted to try an AYCE so that’s why im here. Thanks.

It was not the best sushi I have ever tried. The portions are small and there is often a line to get in, especially on the weekends.
It's about $5 more then any all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant, which can add up on the bill. Other then that food was decent.

At one point in time, this restaurant offered better fare than most AYCE restaurants, and warranted the higher price. Save your money and your calories; the service and quality of food has gone downhill. Every cooked dish that came out was lukewarm, including the soup. The menu is so limited; not even mackerel is served as sashimi (sushi only.) The creme brulee was a sad excuse of a custard topped with sugar. When I used the spoon to crackle the top, the spoon just sunk right into the middle of the custard! The presentation of the food is a careless approach, and worse than many AYCE restaurants. One dish was actually served on a plate with huge chips at two corners - this is unsanitary and unsafe for families dining with children.
Walls in the restaurant and washroom, along with hardware, desperately showed neglect. The most negative part of the experience was the iPad ordering - every time, you need to get a server's attention to come and get the iPad to verify your order and submit it. Most times when we were ready to place an order, and a server did not come until we waved them down to get their attention. Do not bother wasting your time and money at Kaka.

Holy **** our server was rude as ****. She treated me an my mom like we didn't know how to eat. The sushi is pressed and they put a lot of rice into their sushi (with a somewhat even amount of meat not gonna lie). I enjoyed the udon, but that's about it. I'm not going back here if I know I'll be treated like a child.

We recently went to the downtown location and was impressed by the quality of both the food and the service. We decided to try the Markham location since they have a different menu. However, everything there is way below the experience in downtown. The food was a waste of calories. Other than a few torched sushi, nothing was well made. For example, the creme brûlée wasn’t even torched long enough to have a caramelized sugar layer. It was a custard with a slightly torched sugar coating. And many other dishes were around the same level.

Service was adequate but nowhere near good. Some servers were not even able to tell us which dish is which.

A little bit more expensive than your typical ayce sushi place, but they do have quite the selection of dishes. Enjoyed the complementary green tea at dinner!

It's a great all you can eat sushi place. The price is high enough that you want to go really hungry. It is good tasting sushi. They have many things like tempura, udon, teppanaki. Good for a sushi feast.
