Kal Tire

I always get my tires at Kal Tire because their tires are reasonably priced and friendly staff and after sales service is great and through, I brought my tire in for repair because I had a nail in it and they found a second puncture that they patched up for me all free of charge.

I dropped of a flat tire for repair and I was provided with a new tire under warranty. I asked if it could be mounted and they brought my car in and got it done even though they were booked solid with winter tire swaps. This is the excellent and caring service that keeps me coming back year after year.

We brought our SUV in for an alignment and were called about an hour later to be told there was extensive work needed before any alignment could be completed. Apparently, both lower control arms, brakes, all 4 tires (due to separation) and struts needed replacing before any work could commence. This was news to us as our regular mechanic and shop have both seen our car in the last 6 months and one of the tires was less than 2 years old. We asked for clarification and the answer was vague and the same for all issues. We prefer to take any repairs to our regular guy and were not feeling very confident in the experience, so we left with the car and were not charged for anything which was appreciated. Upon our own inspection at the next errand, there was one tire that was visibly separating and we did go and replace it immediately. Once the new tire was on the vibrating we brought it in for resolved completely and even the alignment was improved though still needs to be done. We brought it to our mechanic to have the other problems looked at and there were no signs of separation in any of the remaining tires, the lower control arms were fine, and while the struts were original to the car, they were not currently in need of replacing either. Even the brakes were not nearly as bad as suggested. The only issue he could find was that the other driver front tire had some uneven wear due to the separating tire on the other side, so we will be replacing that. No mention of uneven wear at the appointment nor how particularly bad the passenger tire was.just that all tires needed replacing. I have to say that I was left with quite an unsavoury impression after getting a second opinion from our mechanic. I understand that its not unusual for places to try and upsell but this is really excessive. We chose the shop because my husband's company has a discount with Kal-Tire but honestly at this point we would not return nor recommend them to anyone. There are lots of great reviews online, so I was surprised that we had the issues we did. I'm glad we didn't approve the repairs blindly and certainly hope this was a one-off incident for the sake of others who may take their advice at face value.

Thank you to Kal Tire and the kind service man who immediately took my car in and changed out my windshield wipers on this blustery day. In and out in less than 10 minutes and service with a smile!

I work for a major railway company and when a truck has a flat or slow leak or any problem and it’s down it throws a huge wrench in the system, I brought my work truck in at 8am (opening hour) and there was a line up already, but the service writer named John who was super nice & respectful got my truck in right away and the technician who dealt with the tire was fast and polite. Thanks guys!

Very bad behaviour, i just came before closing time and they also remove the flat tyre of trailor but they reject to service because of servuce call

This was the only shop that had my size of tires when I needed them. They got me in quickly, got the tires on quickly, and sold me a quality tire at a fair price.

Travelling from YUL to YYC with family. Start the day with a flat tire. No one can fix it but KalTire was kind enough to move stuff around and help us. All fixed in no time. Good service and very helpful.

We had a leaky tire getting worse on a roadtrip. In Thunder Bay we decided it was time to replace and figured we may as well replace all 4 of them. Kal Tire was able to get us in on the same day and did a great job too! We could watch it being done at the window and they even accommodated our dog who we had with us. Very professional, friendly and they had great prices too! Thanks Kal Tire!

I had an amazing at Kal tire. Chris helped me by replacing my tires which got punctured while traveling from Toronto to Calgary. Thunderbay was on my way and I called a few stores and they all said it will be ready later that evening. However, I explained Chris my situation that I was traveling and he responded to my request immediately and got me back on road just in time. Thank you Chris! 10/10

I had been having such a hard time resolving my vehicle's issues with the dealership I bought it from. I took my vehicle to Kal on two separate occasions and had nothing but an amazing experience with them.

The first employee went out of his way to diagnose the issue and offered to have it fixed at Kal but ultimately recommended taking it to the dealership since my vehicle's warranty would cover the repair.

I went back a few weeks later and a separate employee once again went above and beyond diagnosing the issue and restoring my faith in the safety of my vehicle.

I will be bringing all my out-of-warranty work to Kal Tire going forward. Finding a shop to work on your vehicle without the fear of being taken advantage of is something most people look for in a shop, and this Kal Tire location is the right location for trustworthy work.

We needed a tire changed on the highway but we didn't have the right equipment. Kal tire came right out quickly and helped us. We are so thankful. Great job! Very helpful.

They worked even on new year eve. Thank you so much. The staff also recommended me about the other issue my car had: wrong direction of wheels. The price was reasonable: 40$/changing four wheels. The fee for oil changing is total 69.33 for Ford Focus 2012. Love the coffee maker even the espresso was sweet. LOL

Would certainly like to give Kal Tire a 5 Star review except for a recent experience. I have bought several sets of tires for my vehicles over the past 12 years at least from Kal Tire and have always been impressed with the quality of the products and the service in alignment and balancing etc.
I recent purchased a set of all weather tires for my 1990 Mercedes Benz 190E. I requested that the wheels be aligned as well although the old set of tires in the car were 10 years old and did not show any uneven wear. When the car was returned to me the steering wheel was not centred when the car was being driven in a straight line. I returned and requested that this problem be rectified. The answer I received was that due to the need for a "special Mercedes tool" the wheel could not be properly centred. I investigated on a online Mercedes forum specific to this car and the consensus was that no special tool is required and that Kal Tire had simply done shoddy work. Kal Tire did refund me the cost of the alignment but now I must find another shop that will correct a problem created by Kal Tire.

I normally don't write reviews but Kal-tires customer service was above and beyond, I had to rate them! I installed 4 tires recently and unfortunately I realized there was a missing hubcap the morning after. (they were all fitted back post installation). While Kal-tire was doing the retorque the next 2 days, I mentioned in passing to the attendant (I think his name is Terry not sure) that the hubcap must have fallen off while I driving and I thought it hadn't been snuggly fitted back. I was just mentioning that as a FYI and didn't expect much but he said he would look for another one. 2 weeks later I get 2 calls asking me to go pick up a brand new hubcap. It means a lot to me when businesses do honest business and care about customers service as exemplified here! I am now their customer for keeps! BTW the new tires are also great! Keep up Kal-tire.

Granddaughter calls very upset. She has a flat tire and another low tire but no one will fix it as they are all doing winter change overs. I go to her and we head to Kaltire who are really busy. Not feelin optimistic, we get called up by Brad. What a great young man. I tell him granddaughter has very little cash so he finds us 2 used tires, a then he gets us a better deal on them. And then he squeezed us in to install one to get her mobile.
And then today he gets the other tire installed. And it was NO CHARGE for that install. Wow what great customer service. Can't thank Kaltire enough and especially Brad. We will definitely go back.

These guys came through for my wife and I while we were visiting on our anniversary. We had a tire blow out and these guys got us in without an appointment, fixed the tire, and got it put back on all without a charge. Seriously, who does that? ! These guys are awesome! Had what I thought was a slow leak. Turn out it was a loose stem. They never charged me anything and they were fast. They are the best and got a steady customer from me

Called a few weeks back to inquire about getting PPI, team member on the phone told me I had to pay for a PPI and a registration inspection. So essentially I'm paying for a mechanic to put my vehicle on the hoist, inspect it, pass the ppi and then pay to do the exact same thing but sign the registration inspection. Then also told me they couldn't get me in the following day. Called fountain Tire, significantly more friendly, could get me in the following day and the ppi included the registration inspection.

Met Terry Hostland Aug 20 @ 8am needing a tire repair and one replacement lug nut. Job was completed promptly and I was on the road again with my 5 dogs headed home to BC. Had a blown tire on my 35 ft travel trailer. I called CAA which in turn called Kal Tire out of Thunder Bay ON. It took a long time for them to show, but considering they where 270 kms away, I didnt think they would arrive within minutes. Lol. Once here he started quickly and within a short time we were able to get back to our journey. Randall was great and went about and beyond to help us out. Very happy.thanks Kal Tire and their staff. GREAT JOB!

I've always had fast and friendly service. I had an appointment for new tires and it was less than 40 mins and I was on my way!

Took a while to get served. I was the only person in the store. 5 counter positions, only 1 staff. Otherwise okay once I got served.

Dropped in to have a tire replaced. I was seen to quickly and on my way. Price was reasonable and there was coffee.

Good and fast as always and had tires that where made other than China that are garbage. Good for them

Excellent service and had what we needed. Service was coffee moneyed in what seemed like record time. I will make all my tire purchases from Kal Tire. Mark and his staff are a credit to their company!
