Kal Tire

Had to return (1 hour each way) to have the tire pressure sensors set on new winter tires and rims. This is the second time I've had this happen at Kal Tire Barrie. Staff are nice, though it was crazy busy. Also ordered storage covers for summer tires, they instead were put in regular plastic and had to ask for the covers.

What an absolute gem of a honest business. Had a leaked tire which my local go-to shop couldnt fix, god knows why. The technician immediately identified the issue of loose valve and fixed it. Moreover since nothing was actually broken they just handed over the keys and said no charge. I was speechless. Well you now got me for all my car works for life. Thanks so much for your nice gesture and superb work.

Never had great luck here. Showed up with emergency repair on trailer of my semi. Opens at 730. Arrived here at 6 am. 715 told that yes we open at 730 but we don't fix truck tires till after 8 am. If you need timely repairs you might want to consider the guys in innisfil. They want your business.

I went to have my seasonal tires changed, I was in and out in 45 mins. I was greeted, was comfortable while I waited, and quick transaction process. Despite the fact that I had to go back because a tire pressure sensor came on the next day, I still would say that I had a great experience. Mitch was the one who helped me both times and he was genuinely sorry that I had to go back (it was a 5 mins fix for the sensor), he was very knowledgeable and you can tell he really cares about his job and his clients. I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 only because both times I called to speak to someone with some questions, I had to wait on hold upwards of 10 mins - this needs to be addressed on their end.

I had a blow out on the 400 highway Friday night. I called Sylvia Saturday morning she had me in the shop with a new tire and out the door in time to make the funeral I was attending out of town. They are a first class act!

I don’t see what the point of making an appointment is if I’m still waiting half an hour from my scheduled appointment time for my car to even be looked at. Won’t be coming back here

Booked a tire swap online for the next day and was in and out in about 30 minutes. Fast and friendly service. I will be using them for my future needs!

They lied to me about the minimum tire tread so they can con me into buying tires from them. They tried to scam me into buying tires when mine were next to new. Not going back.

Update: the customer service was really great. They did an inspection of the work, found their mistake and corrected it. A very scary experience though and could have gone much worse.

Bought new tires from Kal Tire last week and was warned that there could be something wrong on the front end, so we had to schedule another appointment with the mechanic. Imagine my surprise when sure enough the 'knocking' sounds started on the weekend, I was impressed that you somehow knew we'd need more work. So a few days of stressing about what else could be wrong my teenage son and his teacher had a look for experience before we were going to get it back in with you. Long story short, we were sent home with a loose tire! Besides being incredibly unsafe, you'd think after having to wait over 2 hours for them to be done you'd have been able to do them completely. Good news though, the teenager fixed it and there is no more knocking. Guess we will have to look for a new tire place next time though.

Worst experience I’ve ever had, customer service was the worst I ever experienced. Pulled in with a tire leaking and they didn’t have time to fix it but only 2 cars in 5 bays, then to add insult to injury they would not add air to my tire to get me home or even let me use an airline to do it myself! They literally watched me change my tire in the parking lot! I really can’t even explain how rude the shop person was! Never will I go there again!

Great service on the tires and installation. They were able to fit me in an earlier time slot at the last minute and installation was prompt. Ended up developing a leak at the stem the next day and just drove in unannounced and they promptly took care of the problem and fixed it right away. Great service all around.

I've been going to Kal Tire for years and I'm so disappointed in the customer service lately. My appointment today was at 12: 30pm and I had someone drop off my car early morning (8: 00am). I called the store and informed them at 8: 30 am. Someone answered and said they were aware which was great. However, at 2: 27pm I had a missed call/voicemail regarding an issue with my car. I was surprised that this issue was brought to my attention at 2: 27pm when my appointment was originally at 12: 30pm. Regardless, I called back spoke to someone and was informed that they were beginning to work on the issue at 2: 30pm. Now, I've been on hold for 10 minutes at a time since 3: 30pm waiting to talk to someone about the update of my car. This happened another time before with my husband. Currently, I am still waiting for an update. I asked for someone to call me or text me when the car was completed however I have still not heard back and the store closes at 5: 00pm. I'm quite certain, I will not have my car ready by tonight which is disappointing and frustrating. If you have an appointment here, make sure you are present and stay in the area.

Bought two front tires here and had them installed and balanced. I normally watch how my cars being serviced to avoid future problems. Very impressed by Kal Tire technicians and advisers although I knew exactly what I am buying and how it supposed to be installed. Extremely professional and very friendly. I wil defenitely be back when it's time for more tires. Thank you

I have wasted far too much of my time at Kal Tire. You make an appointment and after 90 mins you are still waiting. Embarrassingly this isn’t the first time but it will be the last.

Promised one hour service delivered three hours later. The store is dirty, disorganized and lacks leadership. Suggest finding another provider of tire service in Barrie. The Kal Tires out west in Calgary are excellent this location is incompetent

Came in and paid for a safety of a 2019 Tesla model 3 with 83k kms which they indicated failed due to rusty rotors, rear bushing practically falling off and a front right sway bar link. Couldn't fix it, I went to reputable shop that work on Teslas and they indicated brakes rusting on these are normal and turn down the regen level, nothing wrong with any rear suspension component and front sway bar link replaced. Wrote up the safety for me. Very disappointed in Kal Tire, not only did they unfairly fail my vehicle they did not have an option to fix it on site to write up the safety I needed.

"Much Better Service" on the Kal Tire sign was not our experience.
We arrived at 810am for an 830am appointment to have new tires installed. At 850am we asked if they were running behind and of course were told yes. At 910am a technician wandered out to our car scrolling through his phone. If he had been walking any slower he would have been backing up. We finally got out of there at 1010am.
I asked about a printout of their guarantee for new tires and was told I had to get it off the website. At no time while we were waiting did anyone acknowledge to us they were sorry to be running late until we asked. This is poor customer service. Very disappointed with this company and would not recommend.

I usually have a pleasant experience with this location, but the cost of changing winter tires not on rims comes out to I think $120 something plus which I was shocked to see but the price actually isn't my complaint. What I wasn't happy about is that I got a car inspection several months later and failed on account of my tire being mounted backwards on the rim so I ended up paying even more to correct an already expensive service.

The Kal Tire team in Barrie is awesome. One of the most professional and pleasant interactions I've had in a long time. Jordan and Tucker are the best. Thanks Kal Tire. I'm back on the road with tires!

I've been to all the usual tire shops in town but today was my first visit to Kal Tire.totally impressed. Very professional and I was in and out in no time. I've had some bad experiences at the other top Tire places (Canadian Tire) in town and now will always be a customer of Kal Tire. Highly recommended!

They do great work at a fair price, and they really care about their customers. I couldn't be happier with the service here. Thank you for taking such good care of my car.

My husband and I have been coming here for the past few years to get our tires changed each summer/winter. They have also repaired my tires on 2 occasions due to a nail in the tire. The most recent repair took a bit longer than anticipated but the guy at the counter offered to give $10 off for the wait, which was unexpected and much appreciated. We've always had friendly service and will continue to give KalTire our business!

The staff and mechanics were so pleasant and knowledgeable.
Very highly recommend this shop for work. 109$ an hour for great service.

Clearly Corporate KAL TIRE is not made aware of Branch Screw ups and on-going negotiatios when they post a negative corporate credit bureau review on a customer when KAL Tire made an error and a good company works with them for an amicable solution in the name of good business. Not impressed to have learned this recently!

I went to Kal Tire to have a winter tire changeover and to fix a slow leak in one tire. I was told they could not fix the tire leak and I would have to buy 4 new tires. I felt pressured and ended up buying 2 new tires. Kal Tire is more concerned about sales than customer service. I will never be back.

Fast, friendly service on short notice while I was visiting from out of town. They fit me in right before closing time on a Saturday rather than leaving me possibly stranded away from home until Monday. I highly recommend them!

Unfortunately I didn't have a very good experience with the Barrie location. They installed new tires and were also supposed to do an alignment. When completed they said they couldn't do the alignment as there were issues with ball joints and also stated I needed rear brakes due to a possible seized calliper. I asked for a written quote which they said they would email me. They never sent the quote even after I left a message asking for it. The truck is only 2 and half years old and less than 70k on it so I was very surprised there were issues with ball joints. And the dealer had just serviced the brakes less than a year ago. I took the truck to the dealer and they confirmed the ball joints were fine (I was standing right there when they checked it on the lift) and showed me the rear brakes with free movement on the callipers. Very disappointed with Kal Tire. I wouldn't trust them for anything but installing tires.
