Kal Tire

Most of the service was great and fast. Only negative was our tires were stacked too high in our trunk and cracked our back window when they flew back at a red light. Would have preferred if they had placed them more securely.

They used to be much better however it's not for me anymore. I went in because the cover of my catalytic converter fell off. I told them this exactly, they kept the truck for the day. When I came to pick it up they said they tried to order the part but it's not available, which is fine. But then proceeded to charge me $80 to tell me "it's the cover of your catalytic converter. " Uh yea. I literally said that when I came in. And he talked to me about it for like ten minutes, I guess to make me feel like I got my money's worth lol. But yea they called the charge for "diagnostic. " I was like well damn you shoulda paid me $80 bucks then anyways I felt like I shouldn't argue because I know businesses are struggling these days but man, so am I! It just indicated to me a lack of integrity (or rather a loss of integrity, because they used to be better than that). It's a lesson learned and tells me what I need to know: find someplace else.

I bought winter tires and very happy with them however the TPMS sensors that i also bought from them all went dead after just a year. They were expensive to buy and install so it was a waste of money. Batteries should have lasted at least 5-7 years

Fast and fair prices for tire rotation. Double the price for an oil change for some reason 120 bucks at kal. 80 at the three mechanics shops in the area.

They were very fast and efficient. I really appreciated the service! (BTW, they repaired the left front tire on our Nissan Kicks, in about half-an-hour, and for $56.95.)

Replaced tire in my wheel that was dead in little time at good price with short notice. Website was challenging to use but once I called it was all good

Staff & service was fine for a tire switchover.

Horrible booking system. For a 10: 30AM appointment, my vehicle took 40 minutes to enter the bay. What other professional service books appointments and does not follow the time?

DISHONEST. They are not upright in their dealings. I wanted to buy tires and the sales person pushed for some tires telling me there will be a $100+ rebate. But now their website has gone dead on that option. I sent them via email my invoice but no one bothered to reply even after a month. Very dishonest dealing.
I don't see any option for adding another reply but anyhow. Thanks for taking up this matter promptly. Yes someone reached out to me from Kal Tire and told me that they will look into it and explained my case as well. More facts: I went to Mississauga store on Dec 5 2022, confirmed purchase by putting my non-refundable deposit $150.99. They promised me to make available all 4 tires within next few days but then it got delayed to Dec 22. So it is not my fault. If you did not have stock why was my purchase processed on Dec 5th? Which is well within promotion period. So I am entitled to the rebate. You must accrue the liability per the intial purchase date, not the one on which you were able to deliver.

Avoid this place like the plague. Made me return twice because they couldn't be bothered to get the right size tires.

Finally when I thought it was settled, it turn being the wrong size, again! The manager was far from helpful, and will say the right things for you to leave with no intention of standing behind his word.

The positive reviews are honestly a shock to me, while the negatives one show the same incompetence and sloppiness that I've experience both in person and when I called their toll free # to book a reservation.

First time purchasing winter tires and the process was very easy. I came in and got an appointment for the next day and my car was finished within an hour. In addition, the staff were very friendly and helpful.

I bought new tires and had them installed here then the next time I drove on the highway there was a clunking. I took the car into my mechanic and he said the lug nuts were loose on the car and not properly torqued. The mechanic said this was very dangerous and a good thing I brought it in when I did.

Yesterday we bought and had installed 4 winter tires on our van. The job was badly done - this morning we had warning messages from our van saying there was something wrong with the tires. We have taken the van back this morning to have it rectified. We have been sitting waiting since 10: 30 am! Its now 3: 30 and its not done! They have ZERO concern about anyone else's time, do shoddy work and we would NEVER recommend anyone go there to do anything.

Brought my rims in hoping for some help on the proper hardware to purchase. Because I didn’t purchase my tires from this shop, I was met with a resounding “that’s impossible. ”
I asked if they could help do some research with me, maybe call the rim dealer/manufacturer and help figure out the problem?
Again, the gentleman at the front told me he’s not going to do that because it’s impossible. He didn’t even bother checking the rim I had brought in for physical indications/numbers that could help.

I went outside, called a certified Konig rim dealer, and within 15 minutes on the phone we figured out the exact hardware I needed. All of that was done outside of your store. I drove to Mississauga and picked up the hardware from 1010 Tires.
Anyone reading this should just go there.

Please either hire someone more educated on rims or someone who’s actually willing to help people out regardless if they’ve purchased tires from your store. I wasn’t asking much, and I was met with either attitude or laziness because my original purchase wasn’t from your store.

This location recommended unnecessary service and when I questioned and said no tried to make it sound like there was an actual problem.

I was there to have my winter tires swapped on rims and after leaving found they had one if the rear tires 8psi low on air and the other 15psi low while one of the front tires was 1psi over.

I've always had good experiences at this location, and not having unnecessary service recommended as well as doing the job properly were two reasons I came back.

I will not be back.

We have been customers of this Kal Tire location for 12 years. We have recently been experiencing situations where the staff has been dishonest and aggressively up selling for car repairs that were not required which cost substantially more. In short, We took the car for an assessment at a different mechanic and paid $400 for the repairs which Kal Tire had estimated at over $1500.

Also the Kal Tire diagnostic showed that the battery we had purchased at Kal just over 2 years ago needed replacing and there was no warranty. The staff was attempting to upsell for a battery at a cost of approximately $250. The battery actually does not need to be replaced according to the other mechanic.

We also have friends in the community who seem to be having the same issues at this location and thought we should warn others to avoid unnecessary and costly repairs.

When you call, your on hold forever. I was promised a call back when my tire change was finished. Never got it. No follow through customer service. Too bad. Won’t be back again. Good luck with these guys.

Our experience with this location is a lengthy one because of the excellent service, professionalism, honesty and efficiency. We only have glowing comments to make about the staff and the work done on our vehicles. We get everything done here from oil changes and snow tires, to brake work and other issues that come up. We value the service we receive.

I had my winter tire change done here, which went well but there was some very minor damage done - nothing critical. Upon pointing it out they immediately offered to fix it. It took a few tries, but they persisted and repaired everything back to normal.

I really appreciated that they took responsibility to make things right and were professional through every interaction.

I'm now absolutely confident in trusting them with my vehicle. I'll be happily coming back here again for all my future needs.

Excellent service, had low tire pressure due to cold, fixed promptly and showed how to reset on the computer.

I had a flat tire on Saturday afternoon, called and was able to get in right away. They checked out the tire and unfortunately it was a sidewall puncture so couldn't be repaired. They sourced a new tire which was not available until Monday, kept my car safe over the weekend and mounted the new tire for Monday. The price was amazing, really transparent about what they were charging me for and what the total cost was.

Everyone was super friendly, helpful and efficient. I'd 100% go back for any other tire issues and/or when I have to get a new set of tires. Thanks again!

Excellent Service. Trick took us in ASAP and changed my tires same day! My family had been driving with a dangerous flat tire without even knowing it.

Good service, but I was told 90 minutes for my tire swap and it took over two hours which was very frustrating.

Prior to the pandemic, I used to be a regular customer. Always got my oil changed here, and I bought a set of new tires. I recently returned to have my oil changed after being away from Toronto for the better part of a year and a half. The first thing I noticed was I didn't recognize anyone working there, but they were friendly, so no harm no foul. However, after my car had been there an hour or so, I get a phone call being told that they've done some routine checks and that my calipers are seized and my brakes are soon to be toast, that this was a safety issue. He suggested I purchase a rear brake package and calipers. Now, I'm no car expert, but my car, and specifically, my brakes were operating smoothly so I was a bit shocked to here that anything was shot. They quoted me almost $1200. I said I needed time to figure things out since it was a company car. As soon as I mentioned that, the guy suggested that if I have a company car, I just put it on my credit card and submit it to my company. That made me uncomfortable and I explained it wasn't that easy as I had to get approval. I quickly texted my friend whose cousin works in automotive with the quote and she relayed that he said that price was outrageous. Well, that's fine, but if I need it done, then I'll have to take it somewhere and get it done. Here's the kicker- I took the vehicle to another mechanic and they gave it a clean bill of health. So either my calipers magically unseized and my pads were fine, or this place is crooked. Never coming back, and I've sent an email to corporate. BEWARE.

I've been a customer for a couple of years and each visit is a friendly experience with quality service. I recommend this great crew!

The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. They clearly do not value their customers time, I was left shaking my head at the shear absurdity of my interactions with this location which resulted in two wasted days of my time, and no tires on my vehicle.

I walked in, they knew who I was without having ever been there. They kept me updated on the status of the tire change, kind and courteous staff. Followed all covid protocols. I will be returning.

Got my tires swapped and was told that our entire front brakes needed to be replaced ($1,200 quote for the work). Luckily didn't take his word for it - got the brakes checked out and they barely even needed to be serviced. The person ahead of me in line was also given an exorbitant quote by the same guy and being told the same thing: "I'm so sorry to be the bearer of bad news here, just wouldn't want you putting yourself in danger"

Under new management, and the customer service is off the charts. Great team here. It was pretty good before but now it's excellent.

This is the best location I have been to. Having worked with 2 other stores in the GTA the customer service, communication and knowledge of the staff is superior. Thank you to you and your staff B!

Awful service. Twice I've brought my car here, twice I've been messed around with.

Had an appointment to change my tires to winter and make a purchase today, which was booked months ago. Arrive on time, and they advise me that they cannot complete the work as requested.

Unreliable service. Don't count on them if you like having a car available after you bring it in.

Do not waste your time or trust anything they say about booking an appointment or time it will take to assess problems.

Post Revision: Took extra effort to correct initial admin/booking issues. Were very kind and considerate. Call day-of your appointment to find out how far behind they might be.

I came in to get one of my tyres patched. I was told I'd have to leave it over night and that it would be ready by 11am. I went there at 3pm it wasn't ready and had to wait 15min And they then refused to put my wheel on the car. They even refused to lend me the air gun so I can put it in my self.the reason it had to go on was because I had to get on the highway.so I had to manually put it on myself in front of their shop. None of the workers cared to help. These guys arent people just robots there to do what they have to. I'm not sure how good they actually do it but they surely are helpless. I am very disappointed in their customer service. I arrived late to my appointment because of this.

What an amazing experience at Kal Tire, they're true professionals and love their job. I've found the best place for all my tire needs:) but after the fact they went back on their offer for free removal and replacement of rims every year: (thats very disappointing, that you make an agreement but a year later they change their policy and you get screwed, the large businesses do not care anymore, find a quality small shop to deal with as Kal tire needs to learn the hard way.

Not sure if you guys found it funny or you guys can't read a tire pressure gauge I got my cars tires changed a few weeks ago (I have not driven this car much) take it on the highway and the tires are bouncing. I check and every tire is off but 4 to 5 psi not one matched I get a few psi difference but every tire is different and one was 39 psi it's supposed to be 33 on the rear not 39 and 35 fronts where 35 and 38. I will never be coming back and will change my own tires from now on.

I got my summer tires put on, and took my car on the highway, only to have my steering wheel vibrate. Had no clue what was happening, took my car to this location, and the guys right away knew I had to get them rebalanced. The appointment was painless, took about an hr. I’m super happy with the service:)

The current team (Trik and his manager) at Kal Tire are fantastic! Great customer service, very helpful with multiple requests (new tires, new rim, storage of winter tires), friendly and funny! Even with a power outage my car was ready on time! These guys are GREAT!

I can’t say enough about this location of Kal Tire. I’ve bought three sets of tires from them in the past decade, each time getting exactly what I wanted, reasonably priced, with great service. The people here are clear and comprehensive, and take their job seriously. The twice-a-year seasonal tire swap is a breeze for a weekday drop-off as they’re close to Dundas West subway. Be sure to book in advance online or by phone.

About a year after buying our first set here I gouged a tire badly. I brought it in to get a new one, got the replacement tire within a day, and because of their warranty was charged only about 25% of the value of the tire to replace it.

Today was over-the-top great service given we’re in the midst of the COVID-19 scare. They took every precaution in the car and with me to minimize contact, and still had me in and out to the minute as scheduled.

I highly recommend them.

I have been going to Kaltire at Dundas West and Bloor since 2012. For me it's the staff,
they have always been there to help me from a light bulb to brakes, tires and all the other little headaches I bring them to solve.

One of the best experiences that i had. Staff are very friendly, kind, knowledgeable. James will answer your questions with patience and gives you different options then you decide yourself.
They know their job and the bussines very well.

Came in for a tire swap with an appointment. It took over an hour and a half for the car to just make it in the shop. While waiting I heard so many customers complain whether sensors not being installed right or tires being loose. I saw at least three customers having to come back and waste their time to get their tire retorque and one with not enough air after swap. Concerned how my tires will be installed. I hope someone decent changed my tire. Frustrating experience.

Gone here for years to change and store seasonal tires. They are the specialists fast and good. However this year they seem totally unprepared for the winter tire rush, and I've had all kinds of confusing interactions with their phone centres and in person. I've taken my business elsewhere for now.

Stefan (I think that’s his name, desk furthest from the window) was very knowledgeable and helpful. Bonus: they offer monthly payment plans. I like their lounge with free popcorn, coffee machine with hot chocolate! Only wish would be to have later hours - even if it was one day a week. Also, can be difficult to reach them directly when calling the store.

Service was fine. The two stars are for the insane cost of an oil change. 105$ before tax for synthetic oil? I never would have had it done if I knew it would be almost double what I normally pay at my regular shop. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere for an oil change.

Excellent service, friendly staff. Bought my tires there last winter, had a flat recently & they fixed it for free under warranty no questions asked. I had a blown tire 3 weeks later (bad luck), towed my car sunday night after close to the shop, the car had a brand new tire on it ready for pickup by 11: 30am Monday! ($40 was the depreciation I payed on the new tire). Only down side is that sometimes they are very busy.but i guess when you provided this level of service your business is going to be!

Absolutely amazing service, from start to finish. Totally transparent and not out to gouge you. Jennifer Carriere, who seems to be the person in charge, runs the place seamlessly, and over the 5-7 years I've been dealing with them has been nothing but professional. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my rims or tires. Highly recommend.

Great Service-had to have a slow leak repaired-went without an appointment and they were able to squeeze me so I could just wait for the car. Very knowledgeable and professional staff that offered up great service at a great price. I will return.

Went out of their way to squeeze me in when they were super busy. They were up front about not being able to give me a specific time line on when they would be able to get my car fixed. They ended up getting it back to me much earlier than expected. Went above and beyond.
