I was having some trouble tracking down my winter tires for a changeover. The folks at this location were incredibly helpful and understanding. Service was quick and painless. Highly reccomend!

Reached out to Kal Tire on Nov. 2023 looking for winter tires for my car. The representative was very knowledgeable and professional. I was able to get tires and rims with ease as well as an appt.for install. Had a great experience and their customer service is top tier. I highly recommend them if you're looking for knowledgeable experts to help with your tire needs.

Dealt with Raj for a tire pressure issue on the first friggit day of this year and he got me in and out within an hour. Raj is awesome!

The tire changing itself was fine, but when I got into my car I noticed how dirty my seats were from the guys who worked on it. Very disappointing as my car was very clean before this service. And the bags they put my summer tires in were soaking wet. I will not be returning here.

I came here because the reviews were good, but unfortunately I had a bad experience. I wanted to drop off two lawn mower wheels to get new tires and they wouldn’t take them. They wanted me to book an appointment which I had no problem with but they wouldn’t let me leave the wheels for the appointment, I had to bring the wheels back for the time of the appointment. So brutal.

My 3rd and final negative experiene at this Kal Tire.

In November 2022, I brought in my vehicle for a seasonal tire change (tires on rims). They ended up breaking 2 of my plastic lug nut covers. My wheels are custom order, and the lug covers are both proprietary and not easy to source. I eventually was able to source some as well as a few extras in case it happened again. The guys at Kal Tire were apologetic and nice about it, so I figured it was an honest mistake. They even offered to pay the small fee to cover the cost of the lug nut covers.

A week or so later, my wife then brought in her vehicle for a tire changeover (tires not on rims). Everything seemed to go well, until about a week after the appointment. The car has TPMS sensors, and we got a flat tire. This normally wouldn't be an issue - but the TPMS light had been on since Kal installed the new tires, so my wife had been ignoring it. The flat caused the tire to get eaten on the sidewalls and needed to be changed entirely. We brought it to Kal Tire, and they said the TPMS in the flat was broken/not working. It was working when we first brought the car in, so they agreed to swap the tire for a new one at no cost, as well as replacing the TPMS sensor. No issues after that. Again, I figured this was partially our fault as my wife had ignored the TPMS light, so I'd give them one last try.

Today (Nov 2023), I went in again and asked them to do two things. Please be careful with the lug covers, and please mark which of my 4 wheels is the front driver's side one because it has a small hard-to-see blemish on it, and I am getting it repaired elsewhere. I eventually got a call saying they need a special tool to remove the lug covers or else some may break again. I told them there is no tool for these, and if they break a few like last time - I have a few spares for this exact reason. I arrived to pick up my vehicle and noticed my lug covers for my winter wheels had not been installed at all. I did it myself, but I shouldn't have had to. I also noticed they hadn't marked which wheel was the front-driver's side one, like I had asked. Also not a big deal, but a little annoying. I mentioned to the cashier I didn't see my summer wheel lug covers anywhere in the car, and he said they would be in the trunk with the wheels, and that they were able to take them all off without breaking any. I went home, unloaded the wheels, and didn't see any of my lug covers. I called Kal Tire and was told they broke 17 of the 20 covers this time. They didn't even offer to give me the three they 'saved'.

Look, the people that work there (at least in the front-store) are all very nice. The manager is kind and understanding, and I kind of feel bad writing this review for that reason. I know he will be reading this, and it will fall on him in some way. I don't think there's anything the customer customer service people could have reasonably done to make this better experience. That said - enough is enough. There's no reason to break TPMS sensors and hand a vehicle over to the customer with the TPMS light on (when it wasn't on before the appointment). There's no reason to break 17 of 20 lug nut covers on a vehicle they literally installed the wheels on, and were able to uninstall while 'only' breaking 2 covers last time.

I'm sure they will claim I am a difficult customer - and maybe I am - but it doesn't negate the poor workmanship I received on multiple occasions at this Kal Tire location. I'm sure they will be happy to hear I won't be back for a 4th time, but I will be aquallyu glad to go elsewhere and get service done correctly for once.

Did wheel alignment here and now steering is worse than before and I have to keep the wheel slightly to the right to go straight. Also I was charged full service for front and back although the 4runner can be aligned for the front only.

Booked a tire repair at 730am.
In and out within 45 mins and even made my shift at 9am. Price for plug/patching was very fair.
Great customer service as well.
I would 100% recommend and be back!

I couldn’t have been more pleased with this experience today. At 8: 15am this morning I was quoted a $305 wheel alignment (plus a potential extra $60 inspection) from a ‘first come’ major box chain store, for a possible late afternoon appointment, but the car was to be left there for the entire day. After speaking to several other places with appointment dates 4+ days later, a Kal Tire agent worked me into a 5pm same-day appt (without even knowing my urgency), they promptly took it in on-the-hour (the parking lot was completely full), and done in less than 1/2hr, for LESS THAN HALF the cost of the first quote. The front staff were all very pleasant.

Great service, my tire change was don on time. The front staff was knowledgeable and friendly. I will go back. Thanks Raj.

Women, are you tired of misogynist mechanics? Go to Kal Tire on Sheffield Rd. For a start, they have some women (as well as men) dealing with customers at the front, and I’ve even seen female mechanics. They’ll give you honest, fair prices and they’re very helpful when you have choices to make. I’ve never felt being a woman made any difference in how I was treated or charged for services. Respect all around

Posting this as I am still waiting for a simple winter tire swap, it's been 75 minutes since my appt and I'm still looking at my car in the parking lot, it hasn't even moved into a garage yet.

This place is insanely slow and I'd reccomend going to any other location for service.

I also have to say, there are many other complaints about this and Kal replies with "we have 90 minute windows for service", so they're literally expecting everyone to wait around for over an hour for service, terrible scheduling

A company that I highly recommend. Very professional and honest. Easy to get an appointment, great selection of tires.

Service center missed appointment time, not starting each of 2 vehicles until 45-60 minutes into scheduled appointment. Provided inaccurate ETAs (~1 hr from appointment key drop off to completion, actual service time 2.5-3hr.) Left 1 of 2 vehicles visibly dirty with dirt/grease on steering wheel and shifter. Drove 1/2 vehicles off lot with noticeable grinding noise that stopped with a 'pop' sound. Will have to have dealer investigate to see what could have happened during mount/alignment to cause this. >$3000 spent here, wouldn't return any time soon.

Arrived on time for noon appointment for seasonal tire swap. They are already on rims so my expectation was to be finished in 45 mins to 1 hr. Spent the next one and a half hours waiting for my car to move into the service bay. Why bother with appointment times if they are disregarded and customers are not informed by staff that they are behind schedule. I would have left and booked another day had I known it would be almost 2+ hours before my car was ready. A customer for over 7 years for seasonal service, this visit was extremely disappointing and unsatisfactory. I wonder what happened to Kal Tire’s previously reliable and dependable service even during CoVid. I wasn’t charged for the tire swap, but my customer satisfaction rating of one star sums up my impression of the service I experienced.

After two years of declining service, (2020/21), we finally had the kind of experience that made us loyal customers in the first place. We've been KAL customers since 2005. The changes that made such a mess seem to be gone and the fast, efficient service is back, as I write this in November, 2022. If it stays this way, it's a terrific shop.

The check in process was unpleasant, could be more friendly. Also for first time customer please share more instructions, I was waiting in the car once arrived for someone to check me in. Like get in the building, check in with the staff, drop off your keys, wait in the lounge. The staff wasn't even making eye contact, let alone guide me through the process.
Even while checking in he couldn't confirm my appointment, it wasn't in the system he said even though i've gotten sms reminders. Luckily I was squeezed in at the end.

The wait wasn't long 30 mins, the other staff who handled the checkout was friendly and knowledgeable. I'd suggest the staff share more information about the repair for example (customer experience improvement) graphical representation of the wheels before and after the repair. And more details

Made an appointment 10 days ago for new tires and installation saying that there in stock and received multiple confirmations and reminders about the appointment afterwards, showed up on time handed over my keys and started waiting in the waiting area for approx 30 minutes until I'm approached by an employee, he says they don't have my tires in stock that I ordered and don't have any that would fit my car. I took the day off work for this and I'm more upset about the 30 minutes sitting in the waiting area for nothing. And sitting in traffic to get there in time for the appointment too was a great experience all around.

Update: even tho my time was waisted they made up for the experience somewhat, they accommodated a good time for an appointment for me and the service was quick and painless. Staff was very professional and friendly.

Best tire service I have ever received, they make the process headache free and go above and beyond. Will always bring my vehicles here. Whether it’s the sales rep, or mechanics, these guys take it to another level.

So much more than just tires! I just got my front suspension fixed after it developed weird noises. Good communication and transparency about cost and time required. Very professional. My go to location (Sheffield Rd, Ottawa) for everything from tires, to oil change to all problems with my car.

Just got my tire fixed at Sheffield Rd location. I had booked an appointment for the same day I called. Friendly and helpful stuff members, I’m absolutely happy with the service! I will definitely be using their service again and can recommend it to anyone who needs a tires’ service.

Make sure you book an appointment. And then prepare to sit comfortably for 4-5 hours. Our company has been using this location for years and I've been begging them to change. Appointment times mean nothing. Whether it be first thing in the morning or late in the afternoon, a Monday or a Friday. They will not be on time.

Terrible. I was talked into a different sized tire & rims than what I currently drive on. I called to confirm that all was available several hours prior to my appointment and was told everything was available including the TPMS. At the time I questioned if I could move the appointment as I had a schedule conflict - they said no, and instead rearranged my schedule as I had committed to Kaltire first.

When I arrived for my scheduled appointment it took 45 minutes to be informed that they didn’t have the required rims and that I’d need to rebook my appointment.

There was no acknowledgment of any wrong doing or apology. I was simply asked what would you like to do?

I had my winters swapped here last spring (2021).

Great service, love the online booking system, they were friendly and very quick. Maybe a little too quick.

It looked like they used an impact wrench and I highly doubt it was torqued to manufacturer spec. I decided to take the time and do it myself this year and had to use an extended breaker bar to remove the over torqued lug nuts.

Would be nice if they did the final tightening with a torque wrench.

It was the busy tire changeover time and they got the job done as expected. Would have given 5 stars had they kept my appointment time. Booked weeks in advance including a 4 tire purchase and with a 1pm appt my vehicle did not go into a bay until 1: 40.

Worst service. The attitude of the person who attended me was bad and he treated as if he is giving the service for free.

Great service at this location. My appointment was timely and the work was done to my standard. Jordan was great help selecting winter rims for my vehicle. I am happy with how it looks and felt like I received good value and service for my money. I would strongly recommend Kal Tire on Sheffield for anything tire and automotive related!

Not impress at all, took 5 times to explain the tires switch, then took them over 3 hours to complete, they still didn't put on the correct nuts and didn't even program the sensor.

The manager (Mike) covering for technicians short comings. Under equipped and trained. Tried to charge us for work not completed Made my vehicle unsafe for travel. Unpleasant experience. Won't be returning.

Excellent service, they did the work in less then half the time they told me it would take, their job was well done! I'm definitely going back. Was there once and I'm definitely going back.

I have been with Kal Tire for years now. I have always had amazing service. This morning however, I was surprised how poor their service was with respect to changing my tires. I took an hour and a half, no one could tell me why either. I hope it was just a bad day, otherwise I may have to find another place to go.

I wanted to add this, Kal Tire reached out to me within a day or two and rectified the situation. My concern was heard and an apology given as well as a deal when I return next time.

Not impressed with the service. Went for a simple tire change and was told in advance that it would be at most an hour wait. They didn't even touch our car until after an hour had passed and we had to go in and ask to get their attention. It seemed as though they had forgotten us. When we arrived we received no warning that there would be a delay or an apology afterwards.

I was looking for winter tires for my Ford Edge and talking on the phone to the guy at Kal Tire I was very impressed that he really actually wanted to help. I ended up getting some great tires at a better price than I was able to find anywhere else and the service was superior to any other I have experienced. I went last week to get the tires put on and found everybody there to be super nice and extremely helpful. Can't recommend highly enough. Wish I found these guys sooner!

The staff were awesome and helped me out quickly and on a budget! Very understanding and knowledgeable and kept me updated throughout the entire process. This store will definitely be my go-to spot in Ottawa for tires!

To start off I will say i worked for Kal for 6 years. Now I'm a customer and I must say, the service has been amazing. I only bring my personal vehicles to Kal (Ottawa or Osgoode) and I know that I can leave my vehicle in their hands and trust their diagnosis.

Honest shops are tough to find and the anxiety that comes with automotive repairs is a lot for some and involves smoke and mirrors. At Kal, you get honest diagnosis, fair pricing and a dedicated team of people who want to provide the best service possible.

I could not possibly recommend them more. I no longer work there but I am a customer for life.

Had a tire balance done months ago on 2 tires almost 2 hours for that which is an hour too long in my opinion. Months later bought a set of rims for a good deal, the guy that served me had zero knowledge of products, 50 mins to buy them, gave me one wrong rim had to go back and exchange. Open boxes half the hardware is missing. Filled out survey no follow up. Now I have to search the net for replacement parts for new rims! I wont be back!

Kal Tire is located at 2825 Sheffield road and Walkley road. As the name suggests Kal Tire specializes in tires and they carry a wide selection of the best tires available. I bought my Nokian Hakkapeliitta winter tires with steel rims there for my winter driving and love it. These tires bite the road in snow and ice better than other tires I have known. I also bought their Pirelli 3 season tires and had them put on my OEM aluminium rims and feel safe in them as well. The service is fantastic at Kal Tire and you feel they are doing their best to serve you at a fair price. In addition to tires they also provide other car services and do very good work. They dont overcharge for things you dont need to have done. They fixed my transmission 3 years ago and I havent had any problems with it. They also provide complimentary air pressure and torque checks on your car tires.
I also like that Kal puts photos of their technicians on the wall, that includes recognition of their work. Seeing this makes me feel the technicians working on my car are qualified and that Kal values their workers.
I recommend Kal Tire to help you for your automotive needs.

Horrible customer service, no communication whatsoever. I spent over 45 minutes waiting on a set of new tires, then they ended up throwing them outside dirty with no bags.

Bought our winter tires and wheels here, and also had them installed. It was done so very quickly, and they had a little lounge area you can wait while they changed them. They took good care, and the new wheels are amazing.
Happy they also have tire storage as well

I have been going to Kal Tire for over 15 years they are very good at what they door I come twice a year for seasonal swap of my tires I am in and out in less than a hour I book on line which is the best way to go I store the tires their reasonable cost 146.00 they also give a tire depth check and retorque my wheels after 500 km my whole family uses Kal Tire 3 cars at Sheffeild location and Osgood good prices very happy

Had a flat the other day, went to the closest shop to get a quick repair but was told they couldn't fix it and that I'd have to purchase AT LEAST two new tires from them. Needless to say I topped up the air and tried Kal Tire next. Not only were they able to squeeze me in right away (got lucky!) but they were great to deal with start to finish. Hard to find folk with a sense of humour nowadays. Needless to say I'll be back when I need to get a fresh set. Great first impression!

Who knew having your tires changed could bring about such a great experience. The shop was busy (that’s a good thing), but the guys at the customer service counters were hiding their stress very well, they greet their ‘guests’, explain everything, and give you a timeline, which was adhered to in my case. The coffee was so good, I searched where I could buy a machine like that while sitting there. I had to try the popcorn cause it smelled so good, and it is good. When the tires were done, I was explained the warranty, and invited back for a quick check in 50km. Thanks guys! You could teach customer service classes to other businesses!

*** Zero Stars - 0 *** Worst customer service ever! (And I never complain!) I know they're busy but its terrible service. I called twice and the first time they put me on hold for a while, and hung up on me. Then I called again (2nd try) and told me to look on online. I don't know anything about tires so it would be nice to get some proper customer service / help. I know a lot more complex professions that are busier yet they provide better customer service and actually care about attracting more customers. SMH… All the best.

Quick and efficient service, good popcorn and coffee. Only complaint I have is I wish they had security of some kind, there was this kid who kept yelling he had rights and was a Canadian citizen but 10/10 would eat their popcorn again.

The first time I went there was been told they won't be able to do the alignment that day and need to come back gain, which is fine to me. When i visited them the second time, a different staff called me to the counter, and started answering phone calls just after I finished telling him my intention. And I stood there for about 15 minutes watching everyone behind me get served by other staffs. I finally got fed up turned to a different counter when the guy told me to wait one more minute but continues answering the phone for 5 minutes without a sign of stopping.
Terrible terrible attitude.

Extremely slow service, was there for 3 hours. Also when my car was done they parked it waaaaaay down in the dark close to the entrance of the parking lot. There was room near the entrance to the shop so IDK what that was all about.

Good prices and variety.
Their kids in the shop don't care though. I witnessed them angrily pulling a locked door and then slamming my door until it closed. Instead of just moving the tire blocking it.

We've bought tires for my wife's car and my truck from Kal Tire, great service and prices are bang on.

Always great service. Staff are upfront about costs, service is fast and never breaks the bank. Tire warranty is an added bonus, used the warranty when I had a defect in my tire and it was replaced for free!

I have purchased 3 new sets of tires over the course of 8 years from KAL Tire in Ottawa and the outcome has always been the same for me. Great service with great prices! The staff there is very professional and the service is quick. I highly recommend KAL Tire for all your tire needs!

UPDATE 2019.05.13 - The folks at KAL helped me out of a pinch out last fall, so I attested then that I would return when I needed new tires. This spring, I needed new tires. The pricing was lower than the other places when I did a like comparison, so I purchased and booked my appointment all through the same site. Very efficient.

When I arrived, I was greeted and the intake process took less than 5 minutes and they were all extremely polite but happy people. They worked with their customers, but bantered back and forth with co-workers. You could tell they all enjoyed working with each other.

My total appointment time to install the new tires on existing rims and remove the winter tires was just shy of an hour when I was expecting 90 minutes.

I returned this morning to have the tires re torqued and again, greeted with a smile.

Extremely Impressed with Kal Tire on Sheffield Road. I had a flat tire changed to the donut by roadside assistance. I called Kal Tire and they took me in on a busy Saturday afternoon without appointment. They tested my flat, found no leaks or punctures and put it back on my vehicle all within an hour. Then they didn't charge me for that! They. Did. Not. Charge. Me! Where else can you get that service? When I need tires, I will definitely buy from Kal Tire!

I visited this Kal Tire location twice and have been met with unparalleled warmth and enthusiasm. The gentlemen working there are courteous, knowledgeable, and sincere. It's a 15 min drive from my home with many alternate options along the way but I will keep doing business with these guys - if you havent I suggest you try them out!
