The most horrible experience of samosas so far in ottawa. They serve it for $5 dollar 2, but i swear i will not even have it for free. The chutney was water and the samosa had uncooked layer of maida with oil floating inside the aloo (stuffing). Please dont waste ur money

We had eaten from here before and weren’t happy as the heat level of dishes we ordered as mild or zero were so hot they were inedible. Tried it again tonight and loved it. Heat was true to order and everything was super tasty.

The owner are super polite, food is of amazing quality, don't miss there butter chicken and they have the best Samoas in town, highly recommend this place.

Love the food and the greet from the chefs. Lamb Madras is my go to for my wife and she absolutely loves it. Their chole bhature are delicious too. Love the creamy sauce on the paneer items. Flavour is top notch. This is my go to location for Indian food in Ottawa

It’s my go to place for bhatura on the weekend and tandoori chicken. The staff especially the guy at the counter is amazing.

Not sure why the poor reviews? Every dish was flavorful and delicious. Extremely clean kitchen and quality ingredients. Definitely our place for authentic Indian cuisine from now on. Thanks Karara!

Decent takeout indian restaurant. The channa Bathura is good, but mind you it's $20 for one meal, much higher than in GTA or Montreal.

Worst experience ever… the food was over priced and the taste were terrible…the tables were dirty and they gave us food in disposable plates…

Disappointing experience. Spent nearly $50 for a bland and watery curry. It was virtually tasteless. It also did not come with any basmati rice which is typically a complimentary side with any Indian take-out I've had in the past. Do not recommend Karara in any capacity. Stay Away!

Have gotten take out here multiple times and have always been happy with the food. The Saag paneer and daal are top tier for me. The garlic naan is what keeps bringing me back.

I ordered something online and I requested no spices at all and the chef put so many spices I can't even take one bite! On top of that the supervisor was rude and arrogant and was racist just because I'm not from her culture she was calling me names and was so impolite. I will never ever go here again this really ruined my day. Not a good customer service.

Aloo parantha was worst that I had till now not at all worth for money. We threw the whole aloo parantha after having the first bite.

My GF and I ordered from here last night. I have to say.the food is mediocre at best. The sauces are watery and flavorless. Gordon Ramsay would ask if they knew what salt was because it doesn't exist in their food. Overall, we won't order from here again. I think they water down the food to save on money but it really sucks because the food could be good. Just needs more flavour.

I was charged more than the actual price shown in menu for takeout. What's the meaning of having an incorrect price in menu. I would say, first update prices in menu and then do business. Congratulations, you have lost one new customer on his 1st order permanently.
How can I read back of menu if I ordered online? Very rude response.

I ordered madras lamb and chicken curry, OMG. Very worst food, soured meat, felt like vomiting. New shop I thought and expect taste and quality. Very bad.

Got pokora’s it is uncooked. You can’t even have a bite from it. Very disappointed. Will never buy from them again. Poor service.

Do not expect consistent good food. First time ordered tandoori was really good. Briani was awful, small portion and very spicy. This week we ordered tandoori again for pickup, got the food almost an hour after promised pickup time and I’ll let you see the food we got! Half burnt ️

Absolutely unprofessional customer service. I ordered dal tardka, beef curry and naan. Dal tardka was very smelly. When called the person start defending like what I am saying is nonsense. Anyway I got replaced with another veggie dish. However the person at the cash is not knowledgeable and helpful as whenever asked something replied that plz have a look at the menu.

Nothing else to say as the rating says everything about this place. I am foodie and try different restaurant all the time. Definitely do not recommend this place to anyone unless you have some money to put it in the garbage.

Unfortunately didn’t even try the food as when we were asking about menu items, the lady cook who was helping us walked around the corner to point at something and my wife noticed that her apron was filthy! As if she hadn’t washed it in forever. If that’s any indication of the cleanliness standards she applies, we’re not even remotely interested. So disgusted we left.

Terrible communication and excessive wait time. I was told 5 minutes s the wait time after 15 minutes i asked again and i got the same answer. I understand sometimes they can be busy and it can take more time than normal but when it s asked i would wait an honest answer not a lie

The food is ok however there is now a teenage boy that answers the phone who sounds beyond bored and annoyed to have to do his job. Next time I call, if he answers I will hang up and order somewhere else.

I just had their dhal and rice with a nan everything was good but the dhal was OUTSTANDING. There counterperson was very helpful and cute as well

Great food, lots of vegan options. I particularly love their broccoli madras, but have enjoyed several of their dishes.

The food was delicious, my mouth was watering before I even took a bite of the Veggie Samosa. Staff was very kind.

I have had take-out from here several times now and they have not gotten my order wrong once. Food is delicious.

In fact it was my first visit there, the person on the phone was very friendly. And we just ordered the Aloo Gobi and the cooking and the taste was perfect! While the portion serving was filled to the top, the container was a smaller one compared to most normal ones. I would recommend for its great cuisine! Thank you.

Poor food no salt in fish pakoras, when called the Barrhaven the lady said this is how the fish pakoras are made. I was like seriously no sorry nothing. She said next time let us know to add salt to it. YOU TELL ME WHO MAKES FOOD WITHOUT SALT. I have given one star and consider it as a minus star. Never ever going to order from them.

I just called to order for delivery, then the employee told me it needs 1.5 hour to deliver it, I am like it is ok I can pick it up, so then he is like also it needs 1.5 hour if you wanna pick it up! The employee on the phone was so rude, and shouting on me, very bad service and customer service. This employee should be working in a farm.

I love trying new restaurants but I have to admit this was the worst butter chicken I have ever had. It did not taste close to any other butter chicken I have had in the past. It was really not good at all. When I put it on the rice, it became watery and was tasteless. Additionally, the meal was lukewarm at best. Huge disappointment as I was really looking forward to a delicious meal.: (

Ordered Chicken Manchurian and Fried Rice yesterday.

Found strands of human hair in the food. Sent them a Facebook message about the same.

They replied to me that "Happiness is the key to good and healthy life" and then blocked me on Facebook:)

The curries were okay, very oily though. The parathas were not at all good. Aloo paratha had no stuffing in it, except for little bit in the centre, very disappointed. The reviews were all so good, but another disappointing experience for us. So thought of letting some know. The food taste doesn't work for everyone. We as a family didn't had a good experience this time too. But yes, they were on time and they didn't mess up the order too.

We ordered a large amount of food today for a co-workers birthday. Spent about $120 dollars. When our food arrived, we noticed one whole meal was missing. So I called and politely explained and they woman on the other end told me I was lying and that she packaged the bag and she knows it was in there. I again explained gently that it wasn’t and I was asking them to send the missing item. She then proceeded to call me a lair again, and passed me off to a man who also called me a liar. They then tried to blame it on the driver, but I know he didn’t take it. The restaurant packaged their food in paper bags, stapled it, and then tied it in a plastic bag and THEN it was put in the driver’s bag. The driver would of had to rip both bags and then re-staple and tie it. They told me if I wanted to order more food, they would give me the meal I already paid for and that they didn’t put in the bag. Needless to say, they will NEVER have my business again. Rude, disrespectful, and they don’t care about their customers!

Also, no, I did not get paid to give this awful review. The owner will probably claim I did though ;)

It's areally busy place to work however you will get good experience as the restaurant never gets empty and there is a lot of things to get a perception to work here.good place with a good environment.quick and fast service. Curries are made very quick on orders you will learn ways to handle the customer and make food at the same time that will, however, increase the efficiency.

Didn't get to eat. Ordered online and they emailed it would be ready 80 minutes later. Showed up to pick it up and was told twice it would be ready in 15 minutes. 30 minutes later, I cancelled the order. At least they refunded the cost. Finally are something else 2 hours after we had intended.

Awful experience! Placed order by phone for PICK-UP and they charged me an extra $5 for delivery! Apparently PICKUP means order online not pick up in person, what a joke! At least after some arguing they gave me the $5 back.

Fudu samosas. Very oily and horrible customer service. All the samosas were open and when we complained they just denied it. Rather starve than eat here again.

Food quality was kk but the taste could have been better. I suggest you to flavor your Biryani rice with Salt and whole spices as the rice was bland

We ordered dinner for my wife and I on Mother’s Day and received an order confirmation stating our order was accepted and would be delivered at 7: 06pm. Then at 6: 59pm I receive an email stating that my order has been cancelled and refunded without further explanation. I have been trying to call the store for the last half hour to find out what is going on, only to get busy signals for 30 minutes straight! Very annoyed and they have just lost a customer!

Went there on Thursday afternoon, Jan 16 around 4. This was the WORST tandoori chicken I have ever had! It was charred, dried out and tasteless. I just threw it away in disgust after the first few bites. If I had been trying this for the first time, I would never try it again! They should be embarrassed to sell this!
As for the Mulligatawny soup.it was bland and thin. Thankfully I didn’t order anything else.
What a disappointment. I Wouldn’t think of going there again… You shouldn’t even think of going there once!

I should have read the reviews of this place before I ordered. The food was okay - but just okay. The butter chicken and tikka masala were both such small portions. Considering this, it was a little pricey.

As for the time of pick up - what a joke. I ordered online and the order was to be ready about 15 minutes later. I thought that was fast. Once I got there I got an update that it would be ready another 15 minutes later. No problem, I thought. However, it wasn't until 30 minutes later that I finally got my order.

The staff did not seem to have much experience and when I expressed my disappointment with the wait (I am a very patient person but this was ridiculous) there was no effort made to make up for it. They just kept blaming the online ordering website.

I'll be giving this restaurant a miss in the future.

Extremely disappointing. My partner and I decided to try this restaurant since our usual Indian takeout spot was closed. We called in and made our order, were given 20 minutes for pickup. We arrived at the 20 minute mark and were informed it would be 5 more minutes. Added some dessert, paid, and waited. And waited. And waited. 45 minutes total before they brought out our food. I asked if everything was in the bag - was told yes and that the cook forgot one item which is why it took so long. Oh, I also would like to point out here that I've never seen customer service representatives that seemed SO unhappy to be at work. Couldnt even muster a hello or a your welcome. Anyway, yay I finally have my food. Great. We get home, all of the dishes are barely lukewarm - except for one steamy one (I guess that was the one they forgot). The containers are quite small and all of them overflowing with sauce so my counter is covered in Indian food sauces before I even dish out the plates. Did I mention that they put all of the containers on top of the styrofoam which was squished and my samosas were now pancakes. The food, lukewarm or not, was barely okay and the dishes had barely any paneer or chicken - literally all sauce and some vegetables with 4 pieces of paneer in a 15$ 6" round dish. Finish our meal, and, low and behold the dessert was forgotten! I'm hardly surprised. I call back to be told sorry they're in a separate area of the restaurant and must have been forgotten - but if I want to tell them when I'll be in they will put some aside for me. I didn't mention that I had literally asked before I left if everything was in the bag. Anyway, if you want 1 star service and 2 star small portions for $$$, this is apparently the place to go.

Amazing Indian food, nutritious and delicious. Lots of great flavours without being too overpowering. Would recommend. I mean just look at the size of that naan!

The garlic naan goes great with everything the smell is amazing prefer to everyone I have been going here for a while now and 10/10

Was craving some Biryani and this hit the spot. Decent amount of rice with plenty chicken, asked for it to be slightly on the spicy side and it was perfect. Also got 2 veggie samosa which were warm, crispy and delicious. Look forward to trying their other curries

Amazing standards whenever you walk in there it smells so fresh and the food specially the garlic naan is by far the best I.ve ever had in my life
