My experience today was very pleasant. Technician Tammy and Dr Judith were very nice and professional. Pelvic ultrasound was always been painful for me but they did their best to lessen the pain and took extra care.

I don’t know why they have negative reviews but i can tell from my experience (from booking an appointment via phone, arriving at reception and up to my procedure) its all pleasant and staff were all nice
02 July 2023 14:17
Have to agree with most of the negative one star reviews. Exact same experience today for myself and wife. Most unfriendly bunch of people in what is suppost to be an amazing experience. Very disappointed and will never go back or recommend to anyone!

I had a good experience for anatomy ultrasound here as compared to first trimester from WNR which was horrible. Here the ultrasound lady- @Tammy was really polite and patient. She took decent time to explain and show us the pictures of baby.

Can't recommend this place enough! Awesome time and care given during my 20 week ultrasound. Didnt rush me and made me feel comfortable. She was very friendly and chatty which helped considering it was over an hour long. Brought my hubby in at the end and gave us a little "show". ALSO love that this place offers for you to purchase a video to take home- how awesome is that? ! And we were given 5 photos too. As noted in other reviews, the reception staff is super meh (I called once about an appt and was told in a rude tone with a scoff "we have literally 50 people on our wait list", which is probably true and frustrating for them but totally not necessary to take out on the patient), but it's not a spa so my expectations arent high in that regard anyways. Thanks for the great experience on our 20 week ultrasound!

Just a shame that I even have to put one star.would rather put none.

The ladies at the front desk are theeeee rudest known to mankind. If you are looking for a pleasant experience than this is totally not the place for you!

As the my wife was getting her ultrasound multiple times an not being allowed in the room till the very last minute I got to listen to how these so called "ladies" at the front desk talk to literally every patient coming in. An let me say they must be the most angry, unpleasant, condensing, arrogant and ignorant receptionist's I have ever had or heard. Again not just with us but mostly everyone.

My wife being pregnant along with most of the patients there you would think that this would be a very happy magical time. What patient would actually go in there angry or give them a hard time?

Most are excited to go in, in my opinion.

Seems like the company spent all their dollars on the aesthetics of the place rather than the quality of workers at the front desk.

Best of luck to anyone who goes here as we will never be returning.

Would rather wait 8 hours at a hospital than endure their ignorance.

Based on some previous reviews I think your experience may vary depending on the technician that your appointment is with. I had a very pleasant interaction with Susan over the phone, and with another receptionist today at the office when I realized I forgot my health card. She called my regular doctor’s office for me and got what she needed which I really appreciated.

When it came time for my procedure I was nervous and uncomfortable but I have nothing but nice things to say about my tech. I believe her name was Jess. I was your 10am today, and if your name is not Jess I apologize. You made what could have been so terrible something that wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. Thank you for reading the room, matching tone and demeanour so well, and somehow managing to say the right thing when there are no right things to say.

I had my first scan today and will absolutely not go back. The women doing my ultrasound was extremely rude and not friendly. She made it seem like she did not want to be there and you’d think you would get a congratulations or something but this women was so cold. When she brought my sister in she told her to stand in the corner, and kept telling me to relax my stomach. Mind you this is my first ever ultrasound I don’t know how any of this stuff works. She then said if you don’t stay still I’m gunna snap my wrist having to press on you. When I got emotional seeing the heartbeat I was trying to hold back and nervous to move because she was so rude prior. Every question my sister asked she rudely responded and at the end when she asked if I need to book again I told her I was recommended another place by someone and that the other place gives you a three image print out instead of the paper, this women said to me well you want to choose the place that’s qualified and not for the prettiest picture. This was my first ever ultrasound and I was so uncomfortable the whole time, wasn’t allowed to take a video of my baby’s heartbeat for my husband who couldn’t make it and felt clueless the entire time. Extremely disappointed with Karma as this should have been an amazing experience for me.

I've had nothing but good experiences here. The one receptionist can have a rude tone, but the ultrasound techs that I've had were great and made me feel very comfortable.

Really pathetic spouses are still not allowed and screening is still happening. They are making what is supposed to be the happiest experience the loneliest for a woman. We already wear masks and social distance. Enough with the outdated screening and no spouses allowed rules. It's all about money here.

Would not recommend going here for anything… the staff are very insensitive, cold, rude, and act like they’re above you and you should worship the ground they walk on. Almost like they’re doing you a favour for even booking your appointments… (Don’t get me wrong, there are a FEW nice technicians in the bunch, and maybe one nice receptionist)

I’m roughly 32 weeks pregnant now, and this is my first pregnancy… every time I have gone for an ultrasound, I seem to get stuck with the same technician (Jessica).

At my 20 week ultrasound I was in there for two hours, and by the time I left my belly was so sore, I wanted to cry… I couldn’t even SLEEP that night. I was 100% internally bruised from her pushing around on it with the wand very roughly for two whole hours… The next day, I literally had blue bruising all over my belly as well; she was quite visibility getting irritated that my baby wasn’t “cooperating” and she wasn’t getting the measurements she needed at a fast enough pace. She did NOT hide the fact that she was irritated from me either.

That same ultrasound, I also felt like I was going to pass out from having to wear my face mask for so long, and go without hydration for so long too… I ever so slightly pulled my mask down to my nose, and she actually started screaming at me to pull my mask back on, etc. She jammed the table up so viciously I thought I was going to fall off too… Instead of calming me down, and seeing if I was okay and what I needed… she just completely shot my nerves, and gave me super bad anxiety…

Then today I had her for my 32 week ultrasound (checkup), she was decent for the most part. She can be friendly and funny at moments, but it’s few and far between…. Anyways, I was told that today my hubby was FINALLY able to attend an ultrasound with me… as he went to walk into the room, she yelled at both of us that he isn’t allowed in yet and needs to wait outside. Making us look and feel like total fools… Then when I shut the door behind me, she scolded me AGAIN, saying “I told you THREE times he can come in after. ” I was ready to turn around and walk out of there.

I absolutely do not like singling people out…. But, I definitely think this tech needs to look for a new career choice, because she is most definitely NOT a people person. And should NOT be dealing with women that are in such a fragile state / going through major life changes. Especially when it’s their FIRST experience.

I’m actually disgusted and very upset… reading some of the previous reviews makes me feel not so alone in the awful experiences I’ve had here. Looks like I haven’t been the only one who’s had an issue with “Jessica. ”

Karma seems to be more specialized in pregnancy scans. I wasn’t told to drink water, unlike True North in the next building, the front desk staff said I have to chuck down a litre of water prior to the scan done at my 28 weeks, which turned out to be completely unnecessary according to the sonographer.

I had Rachelle as my sonographer today. She is super sweet and always checked to make sure I was doing okay. My partner was called to the room at the end and she took the time to show us the baby.
16 August 2022 9:58
We were told the husband could attend too. I was told to wait in the waiting room while my wife went back alone. Will be going else where.
09 August 2022 9:05
The Karma techs are amazing, they've been very compassionate with me whenever I go in for my monitoring appointments, however the covid screener is incredibly intimidating. It's the only medical place that's still screening to this extent and its making an already stressful time more stressful. The questions he asks are outdated and I always worry that he's going to refuse care.
Covid restrictions were lifted well over a month ago, this is excessive and unnecessary.
13 January 2022 14:37
This place is horrible. They made my wife move multiple times without wiping the ultrasound gel off them, making them uncomfortable and ruining their clothes. The tech was rude and abrasive and borderline unprofessional and left my wife in tears afterwards. To top it all off we got 1 mediocre photo and 1 blurry mess out of it. I'm actively looking into filing a formal complaint against this awful place. DO NOT GO HERE. These people should be ashamed of themselves. 1 star is honestly generous

Yesterday I had the most painful 2nd trimester ultrasound for my first pregnancies. Technician Jessica was pressing so hard on my belly, that it hurts even after like 24 hours. She was positive and nice, however, the experience was nevertheless bad. At some point I was worried for the baby and wanted to stop the procedure. The baby was “in a wrong position”, so she couldn’t take the required measurement. It could be the lack of experience or I don’t know what was it, but it’s not normal to press that hard for such a long time. However, if I knew I would have such painful experience, I wouldn’t go.

Came here for my 20 week ultrasound. No wait, was called in a few minutes after arriving. Friendly staff.

Today I had the most painful 1st trimester ultrasound ever in all of my three pregnancies. Technician Jessica was pressing so hard on my belly, that it hurts even after like 10 hours. The clinic itself was clean with almost no wait time. I am thankful to Karma that they accommodated my needs and booked me in from the wait list on time. However, if I knew I would have such painful experience, I wouldn’t go. Maybe it’s just this particular technician and my case with the baby positioning ‍️.

I had a wonderful experience at KARMA Ultrasound. I went for my 20 week anatomy scan on June 21st. The clinic is very clean, screening as soon as you get off the elevator. The receptionist I interacted with was friendly and informative. My technician was Sandra who was absolutely amazing! She made sure I was comfortable and explained everything to me before starting. At the end she showed me my baby in detail and wrote down the gender for me to use for a surprise gender reveal. I left with 4 images of my baby. Would definitely use this clinic again in the future.
04 July 2021 23:30
I have never felt so mistreated as a patient before. Rushed along, the tech hardly said a word to me. Impatient and cold. I went for a pelvic ultrasound and left in tears. I will NOT be going back here and I recommend anyone else go somewhere else. The treatment felt inhumane.
18 June 2021 12:08
Great ultrasound experience, the technician was super friendly and very quick to get all of the images she needed. The building is also super new and lovely!
28 April 2021 12:19
There were okay experiences, and not so good experiences. I had multiple ultrasounds with my first pregnancy here, and most times I felt like they were rushing to get me through, without telling me anything about my baby.

I was also disappointed that the pictures they printed were just regular printer paper. For my first pregnancy I wanted something that felt a little more substantial than plain printer paper photos. Ultrasound photos were something I was most excited for during pregnancy, and I was really let down.

There was one time the tech was very nice and friendly, and explained to me what I was seeing on the screen. The rest of the staff I encountered were quite cold.

Not to mention, there is no where to park that isn't a trek away, and when you're 32 weeks pregnant that is the last thing you want to have to do.
17 April 2021 10:47
1 star due to the lack of humanity and caring in this place. Everyone who works here seems to either hate their life or their job. The receptionists and the medical professionals here lack the basic decency toward new and expecting mothers, including my partner. Not impressed with this place at all, the coldness from the staff will definitely keep us away from this place in the future. My opinion, if you can, skip this place as part of your birth plan.
10 March 2021 23:33
I've gone to Karma a few times for multiple pregnancies. My latest visit with a few weeks ago. They were about 30 minutes late in seeing me, which normally I wouldn't care that much but with a full bladder? Yikes! I was about to burst. I think it depends on the tech you get when it comes to overall experience. The woman I got wasn't mean, but wasn't nice either. I could tell she was trying to rush to process as much as possible (probably because they were behind, as per usual). She showed me my baby for maybe 3 seconds and then rushed me out.
I get it's covid but ultrasounds should never be rushed and the clinic should still be providing excellent care, no matter what.
I go back soon.hopefully I don't have to wait on a full bladder again.
16 January 2021 18:44
I prepared myself for having my worst ultrasound but it actually went pretty well.
Maybe the waiting room would need a little makeover but it doesn’t influence the quality of care you receive.
23 October 2020 17:11
Pregnant and won't allow male partners in to see the baby during ultrasound. Not related to covid, just pure descrimination. Won't be back. Not fair to father who want to see their baby, I recommend going elsewhere.
18 October 2020 22:44
My second pregnancy. I’ll start by saying their ultrasound pictures are great. The quality is amazing. However, I always get the impression they all hate their jobs. I feel like “the next pregnant woman” in their day. They don’t make you feel comfortable, they don’t tell you anything about your baby. I have yet to hear a heartbeat or really anything, except a picture at the end! If you’re looking for a comfortable, humane experience I would suggest looking elsewhere.
07 March 2020 7:33
First time pregnancy and was sent to this location for our 12 week ultrasound. Very exciting experience for my husband and I because we were looking forward to seeing the baby and hearing the heart beat. The technician did a good job with showing us the baby, but they have no sound and therefore we couldn’t hear the heartbeat. That was pretty disappointing. I wish I had know this before as I would have gone somewhere else. Also when we asked for the picture, they printed two awful images on plain paper. Luckily my husband snapped a picture of the computer screen when she left to get the pictures. So, if you don’t mind not hearing the heart beat and getting not good quality pictures then this is a fine place. Staff was very nice and professional.
04 March 2020 9:42
They were great! Everyone there was nice and never had to wait long. Not sure why there are so many bad reviews. I have been there several times with my last pregnancy and never had an issue.
23 January 2020 14:28
If you're going here for your pregnancy, don't bother bringing your husband. I've gone here multiple times with my wife because our doctor won't stop sending us, but they never let me go in with her. I don't know why they have this policy. There are some other ultrasound places in town that let the dads in. It's a big disappointment. Go somewhere else and make a good memory.

No parking facilities on 18 Pine Street, Kitchener. They should move to better location. People come visit who has problems and they location they have is not supporting the purpose. People get hard time to walk and find parking. Who ever is the incharge of this location should think hard that who ever is coming to visit you is not well that's why they coming. If the person is well will not come to your door. Hope you understand and move. If everyone move from this location then landlord will arrange parking any how.

This place is fantastic. I've been here for all four of my pregnancies and they have been consistently professional. If you want a Hollywood experience then pay for it at a 3-D ultrasound place. This is a medical institution funded by the government so don't expect small chat and fawning over your baby. This is their job and they do it very well and have very comprehensive reports. Your baby is the 1600th baby they have seen and they have 18 more to evaluate in a day. I'm surprised by all the entitled people expecting technicians to go against their code and give medical information. They legally aren't even supposed to tell you gender or anything, so be happy if they do or wait until your next appointment. If you want pretty pictures go pay for them. Karma, in my opinion, is the most efficient and professional place in the KW Area. Keep up the great work guys!

My tech was incredibly kind and considerate! I had my 20 week ultrasound and she was thorough and patient. I could not ask for a better tech!
15 August 2019 11:32
My negative review is not a reflection of the technical work completed on behalf of the clinic, but the overwhelming feeling of disappointment I felt leaving my 20 week ultrasound on Friday, July 5, of our first baby due to technician to patient experience. This was my third ultrasound with Karma since we found out we were expecting in March of 2019. In two of my three ultrasounds, my dating and 20 week ultrasound I had the same technician. My 12 week ultrasound was with a technician in which I had no concerns with. In both the dating and 20 week ultrasound, I left the clinic in tears. The technician was extremely cold to both my spouse and I. I fully understand that the technician is there to complete a specific task, but as someone who also works with servicing public customers on a day to day basis, there is a certain level of rapport you want to establish so that the people you are servicing feel comfortable just being in your presence. As this is our first baby, my spouse and I had high expectations on our experiences as it’s so special to us. Especially after trying to conceive for a period of time. The 20 week ultrasound specifically today, was one we have been looking forward since the beginning. The technician spent so little time showing us our baby, I felt it was sped through and it was hard to even see what I was looking at. At one point she said to us ‘your baby is being stubborn, and my hand hurts, so this is as good of a picture you are going to get’. And then it was over. It was so impersonal. We both looked at each other and were just silent in disbelief. I walked out feeling painfully disappointed in a moment we can never get back. Your customers shouldn’t be leaving on two separate occasions in tears, feeling cheated on what should be an extremely exciting, and happy experience.
06 August 2019 5:56
Incredibly thorough ultrasound clinic - the quality of the report they provide catches everything remotely out-of-the-ordinary, which is both great and potentially stress-inducing. The specialist at McMaster who I ended up going to see as a result of something they saw on the ultrasound spoke extremely highly of Karma (vs.the other community ultrasound clinics).

That said, if you're looking for a gorgeous printout for your wall or a chatty technician, this probably isn't the place for you - they're pretty exclusively focussed on getting the images the radiologist needs.
03 June 2019 8:45
I had a great experience here. The receptionists were prompt and friendly, even empathetic to my full bladder. The tech was on time, professional, and kind. I couldn't expect anything more from an ultrasound clinic. I would return here for another scan if needed.
23 May 2019 4:17
Had multiple ultrasounds done here for my pregnancy and never had any issues. Was always brought in, in a reasonable amount of time and they always allowed my husband to come in at the end. They always gave me pictures to bring home. Yes they are on a normal peice of paper but in my opinion the images taken where for medical testing not for your enjoyment.
05 April 2019 12:32
Had a wonderful experience for my 19 week ultrasound here. The front reception was incredibly friendly, they were on schedule & the tech was wonderful. They brought my husband in at the end & gave us a great look at the baby - explaining everything we were looking at and giving us different views to look at. They printed out a page with 5 different photos on it for us to take home, as well as the gender in a sealed envelope (we wanted it secret for our upcoming reveal party). Very professional!
02 April 2019 22:23
I had a wonderful experience at Karma - I was taken in on time for my appointment and my ultrasound tech was extremely pleasant and thorough. My husband and I were very happy and would go back again.
22 February 2019 7:00
I had three ultrasounds here and had a good experience each time.
The pictures they gave me of my baby were perfect.
**Bring toonies if parking in the lot beside the building. Old toonies to be precise.
27 January 2019 8:53
Karma does not provide a copy of the images digitally. This is because "they're medical" I was told this by front desk staff at Karma.

Note: True North Imaging, a competitor to karma provides access to your whole record online including all historical images for you as a patient. It costs $6, but you get a full digital copy of all your images.

I suggest not going to Karma if you want a digital copy of your images. You have a right to get them as a patient for the purpose of continuity of care, and Karma should know this.
17 January 2019 19:17
The receptionists are unbearably rude. The technicians are cold. Horrible place. I dreaded every ultrasound.
09 October 2018 11:01
I have recently just dealt with Karma. The ultrasound tech was very thorough and the report was as well.
However, when I called to get a CD made in order for all of my doctors to view. I called to ask what program they used to view the images since all my doctors will be seeing them, including my Naturopath (I told them this a head of time) and when I called I was put on hold and then referred to a lady that was very rude in her words and her tone.
Many people go to this clinic from all walks of life - issues with pregnancy, infertility, uterine issues, etc.etc. - they do not negativity in their lives!
18 June 2018 21:30
I've been here for 8 ultrasounds now, most of them in the past 12 months. I've never had any trouble with the receptionists, they have always been friendly and helpful. The technicians are a mixed group though. I've had two that were so nice, which was really needed as I've had some tough visits. But the remainder were quite cold. They were professional and didn't do anything wrong, but barely spoke to me or looked at me, and wouldn't tell me anything that was going on. The facility is older, but is clean and feels comfortable.
