Exceptional dining experience! The ambiance was charming, the service impeccable, and the dishes were a culinary delight. Highly recommend! Saurabh was super sweet!
The menu description is totally wrong for so many small price items. The Tandoori Naan is priced at $2.99, against $3.99 mentioned in the menu description. On complaining, the manager also didn’t show up and kept me waiting. Beware of the misleading prices shown!
Quaint little place in the heart of Yorkville … I had the Everest Thali. All elements of the meal were delicious, fresh baked naan, curry chicken, fluffy basmati rice, and many more. Very flavourful and generous portion left us full. Recommend.
This has been a long time fave of mine and always delivers great food and at a very reasonable price. Family owned with nice caring staff and a great location in Yorkville as well.
If you want a sure thing restaurant option, then Kathmandu is a great choice!
The summerlicious curries don't have any gravy which is highly unusual. Food was therefore dry and tough to eat with rice. It's decent but there are better spots to try out.
Was there for the dinner yesterday. I loved the nepali cuisine. Saurav was very friendly and welcomed us with the brightest smile. I loved the atmosphere.
One of the worst experience I have had in Canada. We came back from a Niagra trip and decided to have dinner here. The guy taking order was roaming cluelessly without looking at the customers and food was so tiny amount. Nothing to say.just dont even go there to give it a try!
The service was really slow. We were just a table of 6 in the entire restaurant and yet every dish took over 20 mins to arrive. Really disappointed with the service.
Reminds me from the food back home in Kathmandu, Nepal this this place is home away from home! Mohan dai, who I talked to explained the authentic Nepali touch to the process he puts for the food, MUST VISIT to every new people in Toronto if they’re looking for Nepali/Indian food!
I went to this place in 2018 and was so happy to see that they survived the tyranny of the covid policies! Went back last night and everything was absolutely delicious as always.
Iv heard mixed reviews prior. My go to is always Sher E Punjab on the Danforth but decided to give it a try
The Aloo Gobi was very tasty but far too salty which ruined it. Rice was very fluffy and fragrant and the Bailji whilst small was nice and crispy. Besides the Gobi, the Naan was rock hard and super chewy.
Overall was ok but there are better places for the price.
Nice and flavourful food. Wait time is too long for the food. Lamb and paneer was great and authentic however momos covering was a bit thick. Looking forward to visit again to try other dishes.
Went in with no expectations and empty bellies. Left with full and satisfied stomach. We had the Mashu bhat thali (typical Nepali rice and meat curry) : was worth every penny. We had jhol momo as well, its nothing out of ordinary but definitely wont disappoint. At the end, we got the tea pot for 3 ppl, it put a big smile on all of our faces. To sum it up: good food, great service, recommend!
We enjoyed the experience at this restaurant! It was first time trying Nepali cuisine and I found it familiar maybe from Indian food. Momos were definitely new to me and I liked every single bite. The server was attentive and friendly. Recommended!
I had the non veg thali, tried the veg thali, garlic naan, and lamb nilgiri. Everything was good and flavourful. In fact I even prefer the Nepali style thali to the Indian one. Restaurant seems like a great place to drink at night too but the streets a bit messed up at the moment. Service is good too
I have tried quiet a few dishes from this restaurant and all of them have been really good. What stands out the most is their goat curry. It is absolutely phenomenal. Their Goat Curry is a must try. Would definitely recommend trying out their food.
I have ordered Matar paneer and Garlic kulcha for dinner today.and oh god kulcha was so bad, its very big and not able chew and not roasted properly, I was feeling like I am having raw garlic. I have given 2 stars only because of Matar paneer.
Food was delicious and atmosphere was calm and relaxing! Very much enjoyed our dinner and food was so good we had to order extra for the next day. Definitely recommend this lowkey spot for anyone that wants an authentic and clam dinner!
Great Indian and Nepalese dishes, from buffet to dining and take out/delivery. Try out the Naan and chicken/goat/lamb curry, you will be delighted. And guess what, my favorite Momos/Dumplings are available as well.
Flavorful and tasty food at very low prices. The service is quick and the restaurant is nice and cozy. My favorite place when I'm craving Nepali/Indian food. Favorite starter is the assorted plate and favorite main dishes are the veg or non-veg thalis. Must try!
I had a craving for authentic North Indian cuisine, and satisfied it at the Katmandu restaurant. The staff are friendly, and food is delicious. I ordered the lamb vindaloo, Aloo Gobhi, Tandoori naan, and plain rice. I do recommend the restaurant for dine in or take out, it truly is a gem in the heart of the City.
Couldn't be happier to have landed upon this hidden gem! From service to food to decor to cleanliness.if I could give ten stars I would.
We ordered the veggie samosas, chicken tikka and lamb korma with rice and roti - goodness gracious, every bite was heavenly. The lamb was so tender it just melted in your mouth - paired with the creamy cashew nut sauce, delicious! The staff was so kind, they even provided mint tea and a dessert (forget the name now) on the house! It felt as though we were family, that's how amazing this place was.
If you love authentic Indian cuisine, this is hands down THE place to go. Highly recommend!
I order ist time but I'm very upset because chicken fried rice and chicken karahi with Nan and Roti all items with out taste I have every think so I'm thinking I can do something also I paid $55. Habib Malik
This place is just amazing. Food is delicious along with service with a smile and a great talk. The owner of The Kathmandu restaurant is from Nepal and their version of Indian food is from their homeland. All the dishes they serve are not comparable to any other place. These people are so nice that they do accommodate some custom requests too. We have visited several times and every time the experience was remarkable.
I just got to know, that you were so rude to one of the uber eats delivery driver, after keeping him wait for 10mins, you guys yelled at him for ringing the bell three times and you didn't even give him the food. This is not the way you treat people when you wanted to be in the business. Hope you'll improve your service and take some action on this incident.
Authentic and great quality food. I ordered the Goat curry and naan, the taste was familiar and spices were spot on. Customer service par excellence and enjoyed 10% off on take out. Would love to explore other options in the menu soon
Today, I visited second time at kathmandu restaurant and ordered vegetarian rice but the great thing was that it wasn't as usual as other restaurants have too.the was so authentic and delightful as same as my home. I love it thanks yuvraj for the good service:) God bless you!
I used to go to their original Yonge St location, and was worried when they moved that things would change, but the food and service has remained consistent and flavourful.
Recommendations include the butter chicken, chicken korma, Kashmiri naan (a sweet and savoury mixture of dried fruit and nuts within the naan), and many of the paneer dishes.
It’s been awhile since I have been able to visit their physical location, but from what I remember it’s family run and service is always welcoming and kind. Kathmandu is a must.
We tried momos, briyani, curries and naan. They were just really good. Been there 3 times already and will continue to go there. Tbh - I went there thinking to try Nepali Cuisine.
Excellent service and food at very affordable prices. A new discovery for us and we will definitely be returning. Would recommend anyone who wants authentic Indian food to try this restaurant.
This place is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! We ordered a variety of food and everything was amazing! Staff and food A+. We will be back again and recommend everone.
Great Indian and Nepalese dishes, from buffet to dining and take out/delivery. Try out the Naan and chicken/goat/lamb curry, you will be delighted. And guess what, my favorite Momos/Dumplings are available as well
One of my favourite Indian restaurants in the city and has been for years. The service can be slow, so prepare for that, but the food is AWESOME. Anytime I'm close by I try to pick some take out up because I miss living close to it so much.
I've been here nearly 10 times now, only for the lunch buffet.
It's $13 for takeout (you get a decently sized tray and grab as much as you want, make sure to ask for naan bread) and $16 for eat in. The takeout option is pretty good since I grab as much food as I can and it's enough for lunch and dinner.
The food itself is really good. I'm not too well versed in South Asian cuisine but the first time I had their food, I remember it being somewhat of a magical eating experience. They always have butter chicken and curry goat as meat. Sometimes they have spicy fish as well. They also have some vegetable curries (ew vegetables), spring rolls, samosas and salads.
They also have this delicious ball-like dessert which apparently is called "Gulab jamun". It's a very unique and great tasting dessert so make sure to give it a try if you come.
The people working here are also pretty nice. Service is not exceptional but as expected for the ~$15 price range.
Overall I'm a big fan of this place because the price is really good for the quality and quantity of food you are getting. I only speak for the lunch buffet though.
Ordered food last night for takeout. Horrible Chicken and mutton kababs even momos were too hard. I visited them 5yrs Ago at that time their food quality was good. Now maybe under new management. Would never come back again
I love the amount of vegetarian dishes and thoroughly enjoyed them. My favourite is the ocra dish. The tandoori naan is perfect. Great service, lovely people. Right up there on my list of Indian restaurants. Definitely will be back with the rest of the family!
Momo was really terrible, we hardly could finish 'em up, rest of the foods were okay and the server could have been more welcoming. Definitely not going back there soon.
The best veg and chicken momos you can find in GTA are available at Kathmandu. Even their kulchas and lemon sodas are out of the world. The chefs cook with a lot of passion!
The food was cold and stale. Naans are premade which are just heated in tandoor. The lady at the counter is very rude and has no customer service skills. She just wanted people to leave. It used to be Okay few months ago when I visited and the staff was also polite but it just went downhill. Owner will have to do something about this or else Katmandu will be history.
As an Indian & business traveler, I eat out almost every day! Whenever, I visit to Toronto, I always make a point to eat my Indian food at kathmandu Restaurant in downtown location. Such delicious
Lovely authentic Indian food. In Toronto, there are a lot of places to choose from. For us, this place stood out for the authentic taste (versus the usual lots of gravy and chilly), and also the staff. Super courteous. We chose to walk over and opted for takeaway, though once were there, we were wondering why we chose not to eat at the restaurant itself.
Chicken tikka was ok, really expensive for what you get. Do not order the paneer butter masala.it tastes like paneer with marinara sauce and ketchup.will not be ordering from here again
The food was excellent but the service was not. We went there around 9: 15 and were told that kitchen will be closing soon so order everything now. We did order what we wanted but they forgot parts of our order. Few things like achar and pulav never arrived. On reminding them the server asked do we really want it now? The restaurant was not full and we didn't demand any thing extraordinary. I am disappointed with their service.
Excellent food, lamb biryani is a must try. Staff is a little lest enthusiastic and needs to interact more with the customers. Will definitely visit again!
