A friend referred this place a couple of times already and finally got the chance to drop by. I say it's really a good place, with really good food. I would highly recommend it to some of my friends as well.

Huge portions, and definitely worth the price. Food was pretty good, tried the Spicy Garlic and it was actually somewhat spicy which is a plus. Would go again for sure.

Above average. Chicken is very crispy, and still moist. Sauces and curries are okay. Katsuya comes with a salad that is cabbage or turnip, and miso soup. Service is good. Not worth a full 5 stars, but 4 or 4.5.

The food is soooo good, The Best Katsuya in town.go and visit them too. I ordered carbonata Katsu.

Also random but amazing ac and free refills on the refreshing fish soup is awesome.

Just finished my lunch here; food was alright but the waitress was frankly quite rude. Didn’t leave the table when we were paying and kept giving us impatient look while we were checking the bills (we were taking under a minute and there were only one other table here). Please pick better staff members.

Katsuya used to be one of my go-to places when I was downtown and craving katsu. I haven't been in a few years, but stopped by before a concert recently and it's just as I remembered.

Final Thoughts:
The katsu is quite large and crispy while remaining moist inside. The Japanese Katsu is one of the only options without nuts so this is my go-to as I have an allergy. It comes with a tangy dipping sauce, miso soup, cabbage, and rice. I remember the cabbage and soup being refillable for free but I didn't get a refill this visit so I can't say for sure if that is still offered. The salad dressing for the cabbage used to be on the table pre-covid, but now they add it for you before bringing you your food so I found the cabbage quite bitter and underdressed as I used to drench it in sauce aha.

Other than the dressing no longer being self-serve, this spot is just as I remembered it! It's a bit pricey coming close to $20 per meal so I wouldn't get this regularly but when the craving hits it's a great treat.

Good food for a decent price, maybe a bit on the more pricey side. I got the garlic spicy chicken which was good and the soup, which the waitress kept coming by and refilling was amazing.

Very good Katsu here. You have many options on the menu, we tried gold and silver cheese Katsu and lion curry.
Really recommend to try.

Wow. Extremely crunchy on the outside, totally juicy inside - how every cutlet should be. The pork may need more texture, but you can't fault the restaurant for working with the ingredients they have. The tatar sauce for the shrimp is also mixed beautifully.

Carbonara katsu and chicken karaage are my favorite dishes here. Will come back for these two.

I had been avoiding this restaurant because it had the same name as a super cheap katsudon chain restaurant in Japan, but it was a good restaurant that had nothing to do with it! I think the meat is beaten a little too much, but I think it's good for those who value tenderness (I prefer the meat to have more texture).

Well, food is ok but the service it’s far too bad! Servers are not welcoming, rush you to order, very impatient, don’t pay attention when you call, I had to stand 3 times to get them to see me, they throw the food on the table and they ask tips for that? Probably one of the best katsu places in Toronto. Definitely would recommend, staff was friendly and food was delicious!

Why did they give me a spoon of rice for an order I paid almost 30 dollars for what. The amount of cabbage is almost triple. Not to mention, the paper lining just dissolved into my food and I’ve been eating paper. I’m tired of these places neglecting online orders

I’ve tried many of their different styles! And they all tastes great!
Went for Japanese style katsu (fried pork chop) initially, it was good and authentic! It’s actually much sweeter than how it should be in Japan, but still tastes great!
Tried a few different styles later, and they’re mind blowing good!

Too expensive for medium quality plates.
Music too loud. An unpleasant atmosphere, I couldn't wait to finish my meal.

The food was delicious, we got the original katsu and udon i definitely recommend both are together
