Kawartha Adventure Rentals

I had an amazing experience with this company. The customer service was outstanding. They went above and beyond helping with my canoe rental for my trip to the Kawartha Highlands. They have a great selection of gear in their on-site store as well! I will definitely be using their services again!

We have just finished a 3 day rental of two sea-doo's from Kawartha Adventure Rentals. What an awesome experience! The machines are in great condition, were delivered to a boat launch near our cottage and picked up from same spot. Jay was very helpful and explained everything we needed to know at the time of delivery. Had such a great time on them. So fun! Will definitely do again next year.

Terrible service! Their policy to cancel is 48 hours in advance which they do not honour. My rental was for a Saturday. I called Wednesday. No answer. Their phone system is terrible. You hit 9 and nothing happens. Called Thursday morning 49 hours before same thing. 48 hours before and the staff picks up finally and says no you missed the cut off. What a joke. They took $500 for a deposit and never returned it. Other places are not only cheaper, easier to get ahold of and nicer, but they don’t take $500 deposit and keep it. That is not a small amount of money! What’s the point of having a policy if you don’t honour it!

Do NOT TRUST this man. He scammed us over with our deposit, and I can only imagine the lies he would come up with to scam us out of more money had we taken the jet skiis out. Record your conversations with him- he is a scam artist. We were half an hour late to the 48 hour cancellation window- we tried to call the night before but no one answered the phone because of their hours. We called half an hour after they opened in the morning. It was one of the busiest weekends of the year. We are from out of town we realized that the lake was actually very far from where we were staying. We called and explained the situation, he was rude at first then told us to not worry about it that he would find someone else to take the jet skiis that day, and he would not charge the deposit. We were relieved and booked close to where we were staying, and now it turns out that he DID charge us for the deposit. After calling him to ask about the deposit charge, he basically told us to “f off” and told us good luck in disputing the charge. Completely scammed, had we known he was going to take the deposit we would have just sucked it up and driven there to get them instead of paying for the jet ski rental closer to us. Terrible human, I would never suggest or support someone that runs a business like this. I feel sick that I have to leave one star to write this review, but I hope it helps someone else’s wallet down the line.

We rented a 30L barrel from here. Price was very reasonable and it was super easy to pick up and drop off. Also, the adorable puppy Stella made our visit very adorable!

Great experience. We rented a Pontoon boat for a week. The Boat was in excellent condition, drop off and pick up went flawless. Made our week at the cottage a lot more fun. We will be adding the yearly rental to our cottage checklist. Highly recommended.

We felt welcomed the moment we arrived. Thank you for the tutorial on tying the canoe to our vehicle. We took a chance on a stormy day, and when we arrived in the Kawartha's, the sky was blue. Great face to face customer service - can't thank you enough.

My partner and I showed up one day before our reservation was supposed to start and Gabby was the most understanding, pleasant and helpful person we could ever imagine. Even though the store was closed, she took the time to go inside to find what we needed. She explained everything throughly and even helped us attach the canoe to our car.
Will definitely recommend Kawarta Adventure Rentals to family and friends and continue to use their services.

Just finished a 3 day adventure with my son, departing from Antstruther Lake Access into Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park. Gabby had the boat at the access ready to go on time, all safety equipment provided as promised. Weather forecast changed our plans and we arrived back at our meeting point early. I called the store and the team came to pick up the canoe early. Great experience and great company.

DO NOT RENT HERE. We were caught in a hail storm and hit the scag by accident on an unmarked rock. I explained this to Customer service and they were incredibly hard to deal with. They CHARGED the full deposit to our card instead of placing it on a hold. It took them over three weeks to give us an invoice for the damages and finally just returned a portion of the deposit. Even after explaining our situation with the rain storm - they refused to give us any grace on the price despite the boat being fully operational even after the fact. Customer service called us “annoying” for inquiring about the deposit refund after it taking them THREE WEEKS to get back to us. Worst experience. Will not be using their services again.

Great experience! We rented a See-Doo for a few days and had a great time. Friendly staff and accommodating.

I rented a kayak and a canoe for Canada Day weekend. Their guy was half an hour late on the day of drop off, but Gabby did come earlier on the pick up day when we asked her. Communication was great, and Gabby was very patient (I ask a lot of questions). Good experience overall, fair prices for non-motorized rentals and delivery.

Great experience renting canoes from this outfitter for our camping trip. Very reasonable and accommodating staff. Canoes were sturdy and well maintained.

We would highly recommend renting from here. The equipment was great and the customer service was fantastic. We had so much fun with the Sea-doo we rented and it made the day very fun! We will rent from here again.

Recently rented 2 canoes from this company for a portaging trip and had quite an unpleasant experience. Before choosing the canoes to rent I spoke with a representative on the phone who recommended the one person polyethylene canoe and another fiberglass canoe for a 3 person trip. Turns our the one person canoe was so heavy you needed at least two people to portage it, not to mention it was also terrible on the water. Long story short due to this very issue we had to cut our trip short and funny enough on the way back to base camp we spoke with another group who was returning and they also rented from this company. Turned out they were also leaving early due to a similar problem. The restitution we were offered was ridiculous and the bottom line is if you're going to rent canoes for a trip, do not rent it from this company!

Always a great experience with Kawartha Adventure Rentals. Rental booking online is very easy and detailed description of equipment. Staff are friendly, helpful and responsive. Have been going there multiple times and will continue to rent from them for my back country trips into the highlands.

Rented a canoe to go canoe camping this weekend, Gabby served us for both our pick up and drop off, and couldn't of have given us better service, even helped us print out park passes we had forgotten to print. 10/10 would recommend!

So happy with the service provided. My partner was using our canoe for a different trip so my Dad and I rented one. I was a little worried as I am used to my own canoe, however we were both very impressed. The staff are so friendly, helpful and accommodating with pick up and drop off times. I would highly recommend their services! The canoe was in great shape and it came nice and clean!
