A lot of food, slow service, missing some items we have ordered. Washrooms aren't clean.

Go with my kids and as soon as i told waitress they are 2 and 3.5 years old.she gave us attitude right away.i just told her their actual age not like we come there for free food for the kids.we come there like every 2 weeks but thanks to her. This will be the last time. If you don’t want to work or just have a bad day. Don’t ruin other mood pls.

Recently came here for all you can eat dinner on weekend. Called for reservation booking for 6 people. The foods were good quality, fresh. The sushi was not filled with a lot of rice like other places. I liked how the Miso soup tase and hot enough, was not too salted and hot enough; many other places have Miso soup cooled and salted.
Would recommend all sashimi, shrimp tempuras, salmon takoyaki, squid takoyaki, shrimp mango sauce, avocado salad, Miso soup.
Good service and nice environment. Foods came out quickly.

This is one of my favorite restaurants for Japanese food. I always order a Bento box and it’s always excellent! ️️️️️

Really high quality, lots of great options to eat and the best part was just how fresh everything was. Actually serving tuna is a huge plus! I hate going to a sushi place and they don't have the staple of tuna rolls.

Just had a very tasty and enjoyable family meal (all you can eat) at this restaurant. The servers were friendly, helpful and efficient, and we felt there was always someone around or passing by if we needed anything.
I had lots of tasty and very satisfying vegetarian options, even my mum enjoyed every bite.
My husband and kids tried several various dishes (mostly non-veg) and enjoyed them all.
The decor was modern and inviting, a very pleasant atmosphere.
Though all restaurant prices have increased a lot in the last few months it was worth coming here. I will definitely recommend Kayamono to my family and friends, and will be coming again next time I crave Sushi!

The website is a little misleading, when you look at the price it says $29 for all you can eat. But only if you scroll up can you see that it is actually the lunch menu.

Good options for food other than sushi on the menu, skewers we’re great and they have a variety.

The salmon was good but I would avoid the tuna.

All you can eat lunch & dinner options, pricing are different for the two like any all you can eat place. Also A La Carte Menu is available. Foods great and quantity is good, clean environment inside the restaurant. If you're ordering all you can eat, there's an iPad which you place your orders from. Do not fill order list insanely for those who don't know, they do tend to miss on some orders or they'll bundle it into 1 order

Hands down the best AYCE sushi place I have been too.the service is excellent and the food is so fresh and delicious. I try to go at least twice a month, definitely recommend for anyone looking for a good AYCE sushi place

Insanely disappointed in this place. After ordering our food, the dishes came out literally one by one with 15 minute intervals inbetween. We didn’t get our sashimi for the first 40 mins and it was not until we actually got up to say something that they prepped and brought it out. We were a party of 5 and the place was at about 30% capacity. Utterly dumbfounded at the lack of service. Please, do better.

We ordered uber delivery last night first time from this place. After this we are stomach sick all day today and in a pain vomiting.

Had one bad experience here a few months back when the service was bad, but I recently returned and everything was served well by the polite staff and tasted delicious. So I have deleted my previous one star review and raised it to five stars on the theory that every organization is entitled to one bad day.

I don’t normally write review but never coming back.the entree was good but not the sushi/hand roll - fish not fresh. Rainbow rolls was sour and all rice -overall poorly made. After addressing the issue with the manager she really wanted to charge us for the “wasted food” Telling us to take it home. Food wasn’t edible it’s still going in the garbage.

We were greeted by friendly staff. Ambience was great, surroundings and aesthetics were pretty neat. Service was fast, we did not have to wait for our orders that long. Food is amazing! My wife and I loved it!

I’ve been to a number of AYCE sushi spots but this one stands out the most.

Waited almost a half hour to be seated and the people behind us undoubtedly waited much longer. Line up was out the door with no greeter/waitress to communicate any wait times or asking how many people are in the party.

We were finally seated upstairs and proceeded to order. We ordered a drinks and all our drinks were served in red plastic cups. Plastic cups for a place that from Fri-Sun charge $40 PER HEAD. This should’ve been an indication as to how the rest of the dinner will go. Spicy salmon roll arrived and was great, but waited another 20 minutes to receive anything else that we ordered. Everything arrived so spaced out. The shrimp tempura was rubbery to chew, but the nail on the coffin was the salmon sashimi. This was a complete miss. Everything else that came just got worse and worse. The beef ribs, beef skewer, and black pepper beef were all over cooked and tough. It was a workout all in its own to chew it. To top it all off, the fire alarm was going off which soured the experience even more. I wish I could make this all up.

Overall, the poorest experience I’ve ever had in any AYCE sushi spot. There was myself and my fiancé with me, and her and I have never regretted spending $100 after tax and tip. I’d have rated a 1 star if it wasn’t for the server who thanked us for our patience.

If i could go back in time and pick a different sushi place, i would have gone somewhere else!

the only thing nice about this place is the dine-in area.the food is meh and the service takes forever.i waited for over an hour on a Sakura roll that I then had to reorder after the server gave it to another table.if you like waiting over an hour for your moderate meal, Kayamono is the place to go

The all you can eat option was delicious. Everything they brought out was good and fast service.

We had the all-you-can eat menu which had a variety of options: Appetizers, main, sushi rolls, special rolls, sashimi, hand rolls, sushi pizza, noodles, udon, soups, salads, deserts, and some Asian dishes as well.
We mostly ordered sushi and sashimi which was high quality and delicious. Not overloaded with rice like some other places.
Miso soup and tempuras were also great.
Lots of vegetarian option, too.
Service was super prompt and respectful.
Recommend and would go back.

Two years ago I gave this restaurant a 5 star review. I wish to revise my rating down to one star as a result of today's experience (April 7,2022). Terrible service. My miso soup arrived lukewarm, but I didn't complain. Then sushi order never arrived, and when I asked to speak to the manager (after 45 minutes waiting) waitress said there was NO MANAGER THERE TODAY! (No wonder I never got my food). Waitress said they sent my food to another table. Cost of this unpleasant experience. $31.63 (taxes included). I'm sure, if a manager had been there, I would not and should not have been charged at all. But I paid, of course. I should add the place was not busy. Only six tables of customers, so no excuse for this. I will not be returning, except to tell the manager, if one ever shows up, about my experience. Find another restaurant.

The quality of the food was amazing. Not sure if the price is worth the service though. Their tablets are very worn down with torn plastic and slow reaction times. Ordering is manually confirmed by the servers which results into very slow ordering processes. Our food was never served quick enough, and little attention to diners. There was no staff present for almost an hour at the front desk to assist customers for seating. Even people with reservations were among the flock endlessly waiting for service. If they only improved the attentiveness, technology, and organization, this place would be among the top.

Good food at a reasonable price. Smaller portions are great, you can try more food that way thoroughly enjoyed my meal I will be going back!

Always a go-to for sushi. They have the freshest sashimi and everything comes to the table quickly and always fresh.

30 mins after our takeout meal my wife complained of abdominal cramps and ran to the washroom for “you know what”. She was the only one to eat the spicy salmon rolls, which she had described at the time to be “chewier than usual” and “probably used old or bad cuts of salmon”. Well the washroom incident proved she was right about her assumptions. The rest of my family were fine.

We’ve been ordering from here on and off for a handful of years and I can say the food quality has declined over the years. The sushi rice too sour, ingredients not so fresh, the maki rolls fall apart as you pick them up, even the vegetable tempura had dark bits goo’d up inside. Tempura shouldn’t be dark.

We have never dined in once, not ever, because we never saw the value in all-you-can-eat. Our take-out meal was sub-$40 and fed (stuffed) equivalent to three full grown adults. I can’t imagine paying that price for each individual to dine-in and eating more or less the same amount of food. Less value for the money.

I think our patronage to this community Chinese restaurant / sushi joint has come to an end.

If I can give this place less than 1 star I would. I came here and before you order they come out with a wasabi plate. I got it and then realized there was 3 long pieces of black hair in the food. We then told the waitress and she didn’t even say sorry and just brang another one. We then we’re on our desert and in the chocolate ice cream there was another hair and my mother had to pull it out of her mouth. It was gross we stopped eating after that and had told the waitress and she didn’t seem to care. We then asked for the bill and they they made us pay full price. Not one discount. We then complained and said how it was not right paying full price for this service and Heath issues for the hair in our food. She then fought with us about how this never happens etc. She then gave us 10$ off the order when it was at 85 already so it went down to 75 so I am still paying for my meal but not the taxes Lol. Then we complained how we are not paying 36.99 each person for the hair in our food. She then gave us 20$ off and we were sick of fighting back and forth so we just paid and left. I wish I would’ve tooken pictures but it was to gross to look at. So I recommend not going to this location because of the Heath and safety issues and the management is not friendly.

I took my family out for lunch. We had a wonderful time I spent over $170 on our meal which was terrific. Then toward the end I paid the bill and the waitress made a comment about how much I tipped. She asked me if everything was good and I said yes and it was my second time visiting. Then in front of my guests she said that she thought that the service was not good. I said no it was fine. Then she goes to me usually people tip $20 dollars or more and then walks away. Tipping is voluntary not being told what she expected in front of my guests making me look cheap. Disgusting behaviour.
I did not pay for the insult in front of my guests. Who hires such a rude and thoughtless waitress.

I was skeptical of the positive reviews and I'm glad I gave this place a chance. It was amazing. There are some popular ayce options in Markham but I'd rather drive alllllll the way over to Kayamono from now on. Service was friendly, fast, fresh fish and rice was cooked perfectly. My favorite part about this place would be the items I ordered actually showed up. I didn't have to reorder or hunt down that last order of nigiri. Yup, that part of ayce frustration didn't happen here. Order what you want and it actually shows up. Can't wait to go back️

Delicious and fresh. Love the seaweed salad. We tried the satay beef skewers and they were delicious!

I have eaten at this restaurant for a number of years, always good food and service. Though, I have recently attended this restaurant and prices for the buffet sushi meal has increased substantially. I think that price point has now lesson the experience.

To break it down some, you order from a tablet and then server will confirm your order and will then bring you your food based on what you selected form the tablet on no set order, whatever is ready is what you get first and so on.

So service isn't really usually a big deal - very minimal exchange for costumers and servers. The food is basically endless from the items on the list from the tablet as long as you not taking anything home or leaving anything uneaten. Most "All you can eat Sushi Buffet's" have their ways to encourage you to leave. - In my experience, when you first sit down and order, everything comes pretty quickly - the longer you stay and make additional orders the longer it takes for your food to come. Eventually you begin to wonder if your getting everything you have order has come. I have experienced this in more than one Sushi Buffet restaurant.

So, in my opinion the cost I paid about $37 + drink and tip - close to $44 dollars per person was not worth experience anymore. I compare this too: I can order 100 pieces of sushi for around 80 dollars. In comparisons to my $43, I did not get good value for this cost.

When I start to look at $40 to $45 dollars for my meals, my expectations start to go much higher. My opinion is that this meal is not worth what I paid. (The Service was good (Buffet service), the food was good (not a lot of variety), atmosphere was nice and servers were friendly, BUT price was too much for what your getting.

On a good note about a Sushi roll I did order, the KAYAMONO ROLL, excellent roll, well worth a try if you want to try a new sushi roll.

Went there on new year Eve evening. We recieved horrible service and poor manner from the front hostest. She was beyond rude and disregard any hospitality/resto professionalism & ethicate. Along with that, the servers were untrained on the Japanese cuisine which again isn't server fault. Its upper management. We didn't recieve any Wasabi or soya sauce. Saki was a challenged to order. But the food was good, but the experience was horrible. Someone need to check on that that Asian girl who is suppose to be the first impression.

I order from here on a regular. We dined in tonight for my birthday and the food was so good, so fresh and our server Alice was really nice.

Favourite sushi place been coming here since I was 7 years old. Great food & great portions.

Service is too slow, sushi rice is 3 times bigger than other sushi buffet places, it's obvious that they are trying to make you full faster by over stuffing the rolls, sushi, handrails, etc its horribly destroy the balance.

Very disappointing experience. They made several mistakes with our order; we were kept waiting for over half an hour, when we could see our dishes ready and waiting on their counter-top. They closed their kitchen, while forgetting some of our orders, and had to re-open it, bringing some of our food after desserts. The supervisor at the location was not interested in hearing our concerns. All in all, very poor customer service, so we will not be returning.

Do not eat all-you-can-eat. Towards the end of your meal, they will give you more quantity than you order (a lot more - we got over double the amount we ordered) If you can't finish it, they will force you to pay extra for the leftover. This is not the first time we go to this restaurant but today's experience was horrible. We will never return to this restaurant.

Great service - need to get a Sapporo Japanese beer along with a great menu of sushi of course and many other apps- go for the dinner menu.

We were seated by the hostess as soon as we arrived, the waitress did not respond to questions about the menu, she just kept walking past. After 15 minutes we just walked out. I wonder if they had untrained staff or this is just the way this restaurant is run. Too bad will never return.

The all you can eat menu has an incredible variety of foods including appetizers, meats, sushi, and desserts.

DO NOT GO HERE! This place was absolute garbage. They bought the sushi out last and the rolls were so horrible we could not even swallow them. It was a complete disappointment and we just had to leave midway. My friend got sick right there in the restaurant and the both of us were sick all night. Wasted $100 on the worst sushi ever. I called them to speak to a manager and ask for a refund and they just beat around the bush. Will definitely be calling health and food department. Save yourself the trouble do not here, I read such positive reviews but I'm guessing the management changed and it's just pathetic now. Furthermore I saw on here a lot of people got sick after their food so be careful.

This place never disappoints. Great service, foods always fresh. It is a little pricey. However it's absolutely worth. I went in with a friend today and he also gave his compliments to the chefs and customer service. I don't get what all the negative reviews are about.

1 of my favorite place to go. All you can eat buffet. So much from the menu to choose. And the flavor is just so yummy. Sashimi always taste fresh and they cut it just right. Not too thick or too thin. All the special rolls always taste so good, and all the hot dishes soo yummy. I enjoy everything there according to my tastes bud. There is dessert also to finish off the meal

Poor quality, untasty, feels like you eat only rice, small amount of fish inside the sushi, before covid it was much better, but price increased, never again,

The food was delicious, everytime it came to our table it was hot, and the staff were very nice too! The only reason for 4 stars is because not everything we ordered came to the table unless we told them we ordered it and it never came in which they would go check and bring it to our table. This only happened a couple times throughout the night, so not a big deal. We will be returning!

The Salmon Tataki is awesome and we loved everything we tasted.

Excellent service and a great menu, we went there 2 minutes before lunch and they still honoured the lunch menu price.

Staff was soooo friendly and the service was really good! Great for an all you can eat place.

The green tea was perfect and we were all really satisfied with our dishes.

Good sushi here and the take out deals are amazing. You can feed a group of 4 with $50 or less. Gyoza is excellent, dynamite rolls. Really good. Service for all you can eat is also very fast and helpful. One of those sushi places where the servers actually deserve a tip. But seriously.check out the take-out specials. Well worth it. I’m sure there is some other really good but expensive sushi places, but this one is quality for a good price. All you can eat is kind of expensive.

They did not finished to bring all the dishes when they tho we where done and without ask took away our plates and chopsticks and brought the bill, funny was we where thhe only one in the restaurant and was not neither close to closing time. After we pay and we where about to leave they brought the dishes we where missing and almost make us eat the with the hands.

Absolutely the best AYCE I've had so far! Everything is super fresh, really great variety and the price is reasonable. Love the new torched dishes, especially with the rolls with salmon on top!

Above par AYCE sushi place. Quality is quite good. Though the iPad ordering system requires a waitress to come and 'approve' the order everytime. Kinda slowing down the process. Hint: hold up the iPad so they can see that they're needed - if not, you could be sitting there quite a while waiting.

One of the worst foods I ever ate. The pepper steak is gummy and didn’t taste like meat.
I brought the issue with the server, she said that maybe you are not hungry.

Food was horrible it's not 3.9 we had Gina as a server and we complained to her and all she can say its not my fault but honestly the food is very poor service was ok.

Id give this place a 0 if I could. Servers were nice. The food and pricing however, tasteless. Food tasted as though it was cooked in stale oil. Save your money and go else where!

Excellent value for lunch. Super tasty - I love the salmon pizza - but you have to go hungry to really get your moneys worth.

On a long weekend Monday, when restaurant was not busy at all, it took twenty (20) minutes to receive 1 roll. We ordered dessert but NEVER got our dessert.

Staff looks like they are underpaid and overworked, they clearly HATE working at Kayamono.

Nice enviroment, fast service, high quality dishes. Food is ordered via tablets, provided by the restaurant.

Unfortunate experience. Servers were pleasant enough but the food was not tasty. We had a noodle dish and the spicy garlic chicken. The noodles were bland but edible. There was no garlic and not much spice in the chicken - which was practically inedible.

I don't know if they changed management after changing names but nothing here seems that much different.
Wide variety of things to choose from. Cuts is sashimi are thick. Cooked foods are also done well.
Service is a mixed bag ~ friendliness it's lacking in some but good on others.
It's not cheap but 15% discount on your birthday month and 50% on the exact day.

Come here regularly for the lunch special takeout. Good consistent quality sushi and cash discount for takeout, can't go wrong.

The restaurant floor is somewhat sticky, the repairs are messily done and the food had no flavour for some reason but the staff was polite and prompt

Good if you don't want to think about where to eat after stepping out of Toys R Us. Otherwise.not the same as the other Monos. Bland, limited selection, burnt cooked food, dry meat.

My friend works there. Its all fake fish, escolar, tilapia, they use dyes and over store it. Watch out.

Great place. Been there several times, will continue to go there! Great for girls night out, date night and of course family time. Kids love it Staff some are great and some still have something to learn but don't we all! Food is good for me, a bit of everything and price you can't go wrong!
