I recently went into ken Shaw Toyota looking to purchase a used vehicle. The staff were very pushy and visibly commission geared. Upon finding a vehicle I was interested I was hoping to have a quick look at in on a hoist (vehicle was as is). The manager Matthew was adamant that the vehicle was “ easily safetied” and a look at the underside was unnecessary and wouldn’t be allowed. This was frightening to hear when “easily safetied” was the response. Needless to say I did not purchase a vehicle from them nor would I recommend anyone ever do!
If you’re shopping pre-owned cars, ask for Yusuf. He is patient, and offers the kind of customer service that has come to feel like a thing of the past. Above and beyond doesn’t begin to describe it. He is a real credit to Ken Shaw Toyota.
Xoni did a great job and was very helpful. He even came in on his day off (a friday) to deliver my car that my wife and I were really excited for. Rick who sold me the warranty was very honest and helpful, I can say that was the only warranty I ever purchased from a dealership that I feel at peace with after leaving. Weird dealership won’t take a deposit over the phone, sales rep gets mad since csnt close deal and throws pen on table tried to give them a new customer for a 100 % solid sale they won’t give any discount guess management needs better training and coaching. Be careful about servicing your car at this dealership. Six months ago they warned me I would need to get my brakes done. Fast forward to my servicing last week and sure enough they told me I'd need to spend $800 to replace my rear brakes among other related items. Glad I got a second opinion. Active Green+Ross (on Kipling - honest operation) said there was no need to do anything for six months or longer. Wear was at most 40 to 50%. This isn't the first time this has happened. So it's either incompetence or dishonesty. Either way, I don't think I can trust them to do an oil change.
It was a delight and stress free deal with Manpreet. She was very helpful and diligent in her approach.

I really don’t have a good review of Ken Shaw Toyota. I booked my car for 2023 and assured to be delivered next year. But due to family problems I honestly informed them in 2 days and asked for a full refund. They took about a week to refund back the money deducting 200$ (liquidated damages incurred) from it. They never believed in my honesty and checked if I had booked a car in my name with other dealer. I am still not happy with their service and won’t recommend my friends, family members or anyone to buy from this showroom.
I ordered a 2022 Corolla Hatchback 6MT through Ken Shaw back in March. My girlfriend and I just showed up randomly one night near closing time and Chris Jones helped us out. Picked out the colour we wanted and within about 30 minutes the deal was done. It was a low pressure and easy, transparent process, which I was really happy about. Chris was especially helpful and communicative throughout the wait period and promptly answered a whole bunch of random questions I had before delivery. Car arrived in July and the pick up process was super easy too. I haven't had to deal with the service department yet. This was my first time buying a new car and overall I'm happy with our decision to buy from these guys. Would recommend them if you're looking for a Toyota.

Came in for a Safety Certificate and was told it would take between 1-2 hours. The whole thing took over 3 hours in the end and every time I ask them how much longer I’m told any minute. Not great Ken Shaw.

I came to this Ken Shaw Toyota location for oil change and I was advised that the front brakes need to be replace and it was replaced back in November 2021. After a few weeks, I had experienced the noise whenever I was reversing back and I felt it was NOT normal. I brought back the vehicle on the multiple occasions and had a briefly conversation with Jason, he is a service manager. We had gone for road tests on a number of times, and as result he said he the noise is normal because of its characteristic of the vehicle and it is normal according to his inspection and he could NOT diagnosis those noises. The noise was NEVER resolved. On June 8th, 2022 We had experienced loud noise, the noise is more noticeable and we recorded it. We brought it back to the dealer at 8: 00 a.m. We've addressed the noise to Jason and he listened to the video. He further advised us the front brakes need to be replace, it needs to change the front pads and the front rotors and the price is $830 more expensive. I came into his office, he was on the phone. I wanted to make sure if he has included the discount. He stood up and said I AM DONE WITH YOU, I AM THE BOSS HERE AND I CAN SAY ANYTHING I WANT. The way he said it was very rude and unprofessional towards customers. It was clearly a VERY BAD customer service experience and he did NOT value our business. I told him that the reason, we came back is for the noise you had promised in writing that you would fit it and it was NEVER FIXED and I am extremely upset and not pleased with the services. The owner, Paul Shaw came by and said he has the right to say it and we are human being we make mistakes. He offered me that if I take the vehicle to another Toyotal dealer to get a second opinion he would be paying for the inspection. I spent almost in total of $20,000 not inclued the price I paid for the vehicle and this is the service I get is unbelievable. PLEASE dig deep befor you decide to purchase or repair your vehicle here at this location.
I had a great experience with Manpreet as my salesperson for my latest used vehicle - even with some complications, Manpreet & Matthew got everything figured out for me:) Also very helpful lot staff, Roz was great, driving me to Minute Muffler for a quick check before purchasing. Overall very pleased with my experience, this is a great team!
Bob is one of the best sales rep that I have emailed ever dealt with. Not a pushy salesman but a well seasoned salesman who make you feel very comfortable and help you get the most value for your money. I had a small windshield chip that I noticed driving back from ken Shaw, upon informing, Matthew, Bob’s manager reached out immediately offering support. Bob as-well followed upon same multiple time. Just that I am tied up to take it back to showroom but will definitely stop by when I get a chance. Have to say, ken Shaw really value their customers. I've recently moved to Toronto from the UK and my wife and I needed a car so we reached out to a number of different Toyota dealers in the GTA to start looking for a suitable RAV4.
When I contacted Ken Shaw Toyota I spoke to Rahenif. Even whilst I was in the UK he was happy to reply to my emails and help me understand my options and the process involved in purchasing a 2nd hand car in Canada.
Once we arrived in Toronto we visited the showroom to look at the various RAV4 models they had in stock. Rahenif was very polite and helpful throughout the entire process with no sense of him pushing for a sale.
We ended up getting a great almost new RAV4 from Ken Shaw and couldn't be happier with car or the service we received.
Bought for the first time from here a little over a year ago. I've owned Toyotas for over 20 years but recently moved and decided to try a dealership closer to home. The purchase process was fine. The sales and delivery teams were great which is why they are getting any stars at all. I have been completely unimpressed with the service department though. I've had 4 routine services and each time (even the first! At 8k!) they try to tell me that something extra needs/should be done - all of it completely unnecessary. Totally ridiculous. I don't trust them at all now and will be driving the extra time to go back to my old Toyota dealership to get service done from now on. Very disappointing.
I would have rated my experience with Ken Shaw Lexus higher if I had based it solely on my interactions with Tony Lawrence in sales. He was professional, knowledgeable and easy-going, but the problem lies with the interaction I had with the sales manager, Mark McGrath.
I was getting a trade-in appraised and did not agree on the price they were offering (stating a 2016 LX Honda Civic with 145,000 kilometers was worth only $9.5K when market comps were in the $15K range) which is fine, dealerships have to make margins and I understand their appraisal process. I was discussing that the market was calling for much higher prices and that I didn’t think that was a fair estimate with the current prices selling online through various channels (Autotrader, marketplace and even other dealership listings) when Mark came in to help negotiate. Mark spend 20 minutes mansplaining how depreciation works, how sentimental value isn’t factored in and made me feel like I was being talked down to the whole time. His comments were incredibly condescending and he treated me like I had never heard of these concepts before. Not only do I thoroughly understand these concepts but he went on to mention that I was going to wait 6 months for the vehicle (I expected this) and that my car would be worth $2.5K less in that time, which is absurd depreciation for a 6 year old popular model like a Civic! He tried to tell me he has doing me a service by offering a “realistic value” so when I go to pick up the car in 6 months it would only drop a small amount from the appraised value. So not only did he completely miss the mark on the conversation where I just simply didn’t agree with his proposed valuation but he gave me a very strong feeling when I came to finally pick up the car he would low ball me on the final appraisal and corner me into accepting an even lower value given the strong demand for vehicles in today’s market.
Mark was heavy handed in assuming I didn’t do any research and talked to me like a woman wouldn’t know how the car industry works. He insulted me in assuming I have no knowledge of the market, stated bogus “grimy salesman” tactics (“Cars depreciate $2.5K every 6 months on average! ”) and also gave me very bad feelings of the potential poor business practices being conducted at this Toyota dealership.
I would suggest you do as I did and purchase a car elsewhere, where you will get a better price for your vehicle and better customer service!

His customer service skills are excellent in helping us to acquire our first car here in Canada. We had no idea how to transact with a dealership and he just made it silky smooth for us. I spoke to him on the phone couple days ago to book a test drive and when I got there at the store, he told me he doesn’t remember booking an appointment with me. He also asked me when did we speak on the phone? This is so unprofessional.
So after the test drive and price discussion, I asked him polity if he could write down the time for “time in and out test drive sheet ” as I had my signature there only, he responded in a sarcastic tone “ oh we don’t charge for coming late”. Like wth! Clearly, your staff needs customer service training!
My tire pressure light was on. Dropped into Ken Shaw as I was concerned. They were very busy. I spoke with Dave in service. He was amazing. Immediately came to my car to check the pressure. Drove it to the air pump and filled my tires and rechecked the pressure. Light went out and I was so happy to leave feeling safe. Many, many thanks to Dave, who went out of his way to help and get me on my way quickly.
Overtightened wheels nuts by more than 1.5 times of the rated torque. Broken the special mcguard key when trying to do the seasonal tire change. Will never visit this place again, if they keep such 'mechanics'. Shame on you.

Staff is very dismissive, unorganized and barely listen. One of the gentleman was rude enough to blame the receptionist for him not knowing his inventory. He asked me to look up their inventory on my phone. It felt like they couldn’t have cared less.

My latest service experience: I left my car for tire and oil change last night at 7: 30pm. It was estimated to take 2.5 hours to complete. I requested to be called back for a pickup next morning since they told me they open at 7: 30AM. It is next day 10 am.no call whatsoever.tried calling them back 15 times in the last 2.5 hrs.no one picks up. Tried calling reception, but she just put me on hold multiple times and then puts me through to service with same result.no one picks up. I tired online with the chat.the guy jumps to help me but then does not say anything. I have to say 'hello? ' or 'Any news? ' to get him answer again. Still nothing. I am not able to go to work without a car and do not know when I will be able to do so!

I've been doing business with Ken Shaw Toyota for a few decades now and have always been very happy with both their service and sales teams. From leasing vehicles to having a scheduled service appointment, I've never had a bad experience. Prime Example: When I was in for a scheduled service appointment last week, my husband and I were waiting in the customer lounge and my longtime leasing sales specialist Michael Naraine stopped and chatted with us about our latest car (leased in summer 2018) and if we were happy with it. It made us feel good that he took the time to talk to us.

I was looking to get into a Toyota, but thought it would be nearly impossible due to the long lease agreement I had with Honda. Horrible customer service. Rearranged to buy a car, wasted $60 gas money only to find out the car had been sold a couple hours prior. While talking to one of the sales rep, he informed me that this isn’t the first time such a thing has happened and that none of the cars they sell are certified and implied their cars are not reliable as they’re sold as is and don’t have any type of mechanic that checks them. Do yourself a favour and go anywhere else than here.

After leasing three Toyota Corolla cars consecutively over twelve years, I was ready to buy a car, but I wasn’t going to get a Toyota. In fact, I was pretty set against it. Yes, they’re reliable, but after twelve years I was bored of them and I wanted something different. I looked at vehicles made by a number of manufacturers including Subaru, Kia, Honda, and Volkswagen. I did a lot of research, got quotes, went on test drives, and I developed my own spreadsheet to compare and contrast the information I was collecting. I was very close to making a decision when, one day, I thought it would be wise to take a quick look at the Toyota cars, just so I’d be confident that I’d looked at all my options. That’s when I met Lance Petherick at Ken Shaw Toyota. We discussed what I was looking for and the research I’d done, and his knowledge of cars and his frankness changed everything. The thing was that I had a plan. I wanted a quality vehicle that I could keep for a long time. I was looking for a car with great value, that’s reliable, affordable, stylish, and that I could get excited about. Lance pointed out that some of the cars I was looking at were fun and flashy, and some were great quality, but the Toyota Yaris had the best balance of everything I wanted. When I took out my spreadsheet and started asking my many, many questions, Lance appreciated my thoroughness and answered my questions patiently and happily, until I was totally confident in my decision. Ultimately, Lance understood what I was looking for, as well as my plan, and he guided me to the car that fit everything I wanted beautifully.
I picked up my new car yesterday; I named her Franny (aka Frances). I smiled from ear to ear as I drove all the way home last night and all the way to work this morning. I’m so happy with Franny and I’m looking forward to many wonderful years together. Lance’s knowledge, patience and guidance were invaluable, and his friendly and open demeanor made him an absolute pleasure to work with. Recently brought my car in for an oil change and detailing and the service was great as usual!
Everything was clearly explained and the pricing is fair. It's definitely not the most convenient locations for me (approx. 35 to 40 mins away) but it's the quality of service that brings me back here.
It's not to say that the other dealers aren't as good or are worse but when you find one that consistently treats you right, it makes up for the longer commute and I think the loyalty is deserved. No doubt!
