Cafe is cold, food is fine average, price is high for it just edible flowers and micro herbs not meaning plate is pretty, please do real hollandaise sauce you can not taste butter and lemon, service is fast and they are very nice

We had wonderful breakfast here in such a cold day! Loved the potatoes most, crispy on the outside and freshly sweet on the inside.

Thanks for removing peanuts from your featured pancakes and lowering your chances of cross contamination.gave this restaurant a second chance and didn't disappoint. No allergic reaction either and kids devoured everything.

Pancakes are terrible. Presentation is good but taste is terrible. Tables are so close to other tables.

I’ve come here a couple of times now. Everything is very delicious. From the drinks, to food, to baked goods, nothing misses!

The price is steep, though I’d like to think there’s a reason for it. (Quality of ingredients seem great)

The service is usually not bad, but it’s also not amazing either. But it doesn’t bother me so much to not return. The waitresses don’t check up much/or at all, and aren’t the fastest, but not that bad.

Distasteful experience and horrible discriminatory behaviour!

If you’re a visible minority, with family or accompanied by kids, please do not even consider this place. The service manager in particular (and even the staff) will go at lengths to make you feel unwelcome. In the entirety of our hour’s wait, not once did we get an update about our seating but instead were offered snarky responses.

If you’re in the hospitality business, it’ll might be good idea to familiarise yourself with a few basic fundamentals of customer service or offer training to your employees to upskill them in this area. It is also important to ensure that you assign emotionally stable staff in customer facing roles and demonstrate vigilance if you notice your staff showing signs of any underlying mental health issues, resulting them in behaving irrationally and demonstrating emotionally unstable behaviour.

As a mother with small kids, who were left hungry thanks to this one individuals racially discriminatory and irrational behaviour, I find it unacceptable and highly infuriating to see the lack of remorse and the audacity of this establishment to respond back to me in an unapologetic manner.

And no, I am not interested in contacting you or your manager to further engage or waste any more of my time.

For the record, the other diners commented that the behaviour of your staff was highly unwarranted and apologised to us on YOUR behalf that we had to experience this. And two ladies who willingly offered us their table, re-iterated that they had no complaint what-so-ever. So to your claim, no-one commended your staff on the way that they handled the situation. Instead, the juvenile behaviour demonstrated by your staff that day was evident to all the diners.

Not friendly neighbour hood cafe any more?
Went for brunch with friends, but the waitress kept pushing order more once we finished something otherwise just pushed for bills without asking whether we are ready or not. We had to order more coffee in order to stay and chat for a while.

Super good brunch place! Menu is different from the usual brunches. Delicious food and amazing coffee! Took about 35-40 mins to get a table for two on the weekend but totally worth it. Nice staff, quick, polite and not intrusive at all.

I went for breakfast here last week. It was surprisingly busy at 8: 30am on a Friday but I didn’t have any trouble getting a seat. Some of the tables (for one or two) are quite close to other tables so if you’re coming as a couple, don’t expect to have too private of a conversation. I was on my own so it didn’t matter as much. I was greeted by a friendly server who got me a coffee right away. It took a bit longer to place my order but I wasn’t in a huge rush at the time so it was okay. I ordered the breakfast with eggs and bacon. The couple beside me had ordered their food about 5 minutes before I did, but I did not receive my food until they were completely finished their meals. It took about 45 min from ordering to receive it. I asked about my order and the server seemed genuinely concerned about it, and in the meantime I ordered another coffee while I waited. The food itself was really good and everything was tasty. I particularly enjoyed the tomato and salad included. I also thought it was nice to have the option to order lunch items early in the morning if I wanted to (as a shift worker, sometimes I want a burger after a night shift!). Everything was fine but when I got my bill, I saw I had been charged for both coffees. I didn’t realize that coffee refills weren’t included, and since my food had taken so long and the staff were aware of that, I think a cup of coffee on the house would have been a nice gesture to acknowledge the delay as well. I may return as I did enjoy the food. Would also be nice to have wifi available to patrons as well.

Walk in only, no reservations. Street paid parking M-F. Get there before 11am to beat the rush. Weekender is a little smaller than expected. Ask for the in-house made hot sauce on the side- they are bottling it soon for purchase!

Nice brunch spot! Everything we tasted was perfect and the presentation was well put together. About 30minutes wait for a sunday brunch but worth it!

RE: NON-CHILD FRIENDLY, RACIALLY DISCRIMINATORY, DISRESPECTFUL AND HIGHLY OBNOXIOUS SERVICE MANAGER

Sad to say that my first visit to this establishment, will also be my last.

To encapsulate and describe my experience as “horrible”, would be a severe understatement.

The blatant racial discrimination was evident from the moment we walked in and any doubts were re-affirmed by the passive aggressive demeanour of the staff. While most staff decidedly chose to ignore us (and we didn’t mind at all:) ), one particular member of staff went out of his way to make us feel unwelcomed - the restaurant’s Service Manager, Mr. Brad.

In our entire hour’s wait, we remained respectful and maintained our decorum. However, in all our interactions with the said Service Manager, the responses received were nothing but caustic and inflammatory. His entire demeanour reeked of unrationalised arrogance that is unjustifiable for any sane level headed person.

Context to the situation:
Two ladies were occupying a table meant for 8-10 pax, despite smaller tables being vacant at the venue. These aforementioned ladies had finished their meals, paid their bill and were enjoying their conversation. Our family was waiting for this particular large table for almost an hour by now.

Being a family with toddlers, who were way past their lunch time and growing uncontrollably impatient, I requested the Service Manager (at the 45min wait mark) if we can explore the possibility moving these two ladies to the adjacent vacant table. To which the Service Manager reverted with a cocky response and brushed off our request. Despite the unpleasant encounter, we decided to ignore his behaviour and stay focused on having a good time out with our families.

At the one hour wait mark, (which was also the kitchen closing time), it was evident that the ladies occupying the large table were unaware of the situation and the staff were deliberately inciting and exacerbating the situation, by being unaccommodating in any aspect. So, I decided to approach the ladies and respectfully requested, if they were open to moving to the adjacent vacant table. They happily obliged and we were thankful to them. Everything was going pleasant and smooth.

At this point we were approached by Mr. Brad, who decided to throw a rage fit of a two year toddler which was totally disproportionate to what the situation called for. He misrepresented the situation and “ACCUSED” us of asking the other customers to leave (Which was clearly not the case). And refused us service in the most dramatic fashion. The only good rating I will be giving him is for his theatrics.

Side note: We also spoke to the two ladies after this entire episode and they claimed that they never complained or felt offended by our request.

It was evident that Mr. Brad was actively searching for reasons to deny us service and jumped when the opportunity was presented to him. To amplify the unpleasantness he decided to create a scene and disrespect us in front of all the diners.

In summary, this service manager had the option to be accommodating or the very least – be respectful, but he chose to take lowest possible approach and escalate this unobjectionably straightforward situation into an ordeal for our family.

As a parent, our kids remained hungry for several hours due to unprofessional and emotionally unstable behaviour of one person. Our children had to experience the embarrassment and as a family, the collective frustration we felt ended our weekend at a very sour note.

I strongly urge all the families with kids to avoid this establishment.

To the owners: I am happy that your business attracts a lot of customers and I hope that continues to remain the case. Given that you have earned this privilege over years of hard work, the irresponsible behaviours of a few individuals can wash away years’ worth of hard work in such moments and bring a bad name to the entire organization. Please take swift and resolute action to address these issues and cultivate a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all patrons.

Excellent food and service. Easy to find parking nearby. Coffee baristas 5 star. Busy in the weekend.

Oh how I love my brunch at this place!

I love their vibe - atmosphere and food - absolutely superb.

The two dishes we tried are quite nice and seems freshly made! The potatoes are nicely fried and crunchy in the breakfast dish and the dressing for the salad are quite yummy! We tried flat white coffee and is a good cup of coffee. Will probably visit again if I am in the area!

We love the food but are so sad that this lovely restaurant is not the magical, intimate place it used to be. We were frequent customers when it first opened, before it expanded and then came regularly when it expanded into the additional space. Now it is so crowded and loud and although competent and polite, the servers and the atmosphere in general is too loud, crowded and oriented towards young customers. We're thrilled you have done so well but are sad that we can no longer enjoy breakfast at your cafe. We wish we could return to the charming, intimacy you used to have but we understand that this is the 'price' of success.

Had brunch for the first time. There was a minor kerfuffle getting us seated but the host was apologetic about it and it really didn't impact us greatly. Service was decent. It was very busy as we anticipated. The food was very rich and we were satisfied with the flavours. The weekender was ordered and and the corn bread eggs Benedict. Delicious overall. Will return again in the future.

Food was fantastic. We ordered the Kerr Breakfast with smoked salmon and Pancakes. The presentation for the pancakes was beautiful, and it's amongst one of the best I've ever eaten.

Ordered a cappuccino to go. Had to spit it out and ended up tossing it in the nearest garbage bin.

Disappointed with Kerr St. Cafe. The menu has changed and for the worse. The pancakes and French toast now have different ingredients. For example, no blueberries on the pancakes, they have been switched to bananas and peanut butter. The fresh fruit on the French toast has been substituted for Strawberry jam. I don’t think I can justify spending $21 on these items anymore. Unfortunately, loved the old items but these don’t compare. I know times are tough but definitely saddened that I will have to find another favourite brunch spot. I had the CBLT and found a tiny morsel of chicken, the meal probably cost the restaurant $2 to make.

Delicious family brunch! Excellent dishes, served with flair and enjoyed in an airy cafe with great ambiance. We popped in on our way to Niagara Falls from Toronto and would do it again in a heartbeat.

We came here pretty early, around 9: 30 am and is was already very busy. You have the option of sitting outside or inside, but we opted inside by the window since it was a bit cloudy out. Staff are super friendly and even though the restaurant was busy, our food came pretty quickly. We ordered to avocado toast and the full breakfast. Both were deliscious. The only thing I would criticise is that they should put more tofu spread on the avocado toast since i did find that it wasn't enough to taste. The food is fresh and very flavourful.

Way more than just a cafe.
I can’t even begin to say how much I love this place. It makes the best latte I have ever had! Shoutout to the kindest barista in Oakville, Tyler, who serves up a stellar caffeinated beverage with a smile! What sets this place apart is the delicious menu (I’ve tried everything…you won’t go wrong, especially with the avocado toast and chia seed pudding) and the vibe of the staff. Everyone is friendly and wants to make sure you have the best experience possible, even when it’s busy, which it is quite frequently on the weekends, and should be expected when you encounter a place of this calibre. If you pass by the Kerr st cafe, don’t even question if you should go in, you’ll be so glad you did! I can’t wait to go back!

Came here for Brunch and I really wanted to love this place but unfortunately my experience (mostly with the food) was not pleasant. The service is great, there was a small wait when we went (around 10AM) and they were quite busy however we were seated within 15 minutes. The potatoes were not seasoned and the grilled tomato wasnt really grilled either.and they originally sent my dish with smoked salmon and not bacon which is what I asked for. I didn't think this dish was worth $20 as it was pretty basic. My husband ordered eggs Benedict and both of his eggs were overcooked so he had boiled eggs over his smoked salmon. His portion size was also really small which I didn't think was worth the money either. The waiter offered to replace his eggs which we declined. They ultimately offered us a discount on our bill without us asking which I thought was really nice. The service and ambiance of the restaurant is 5 star but unfortunately the food is the reason why I came and I didn't think it was really worth my money to come here. Maybe the chefs had a bad day? I wouldn't come out of my way to come here again but if I was I'm the area I'd be willing to come back to see if it was just a one off.

Kerr Street Cafe is in a constant decline over the last several months. Portions are getting smaller, and the quality and taste aren't the same.

We love this place. Great Pancakes. One request though bring back the old avocado toast. I tried it 10 days ago and I think they changed it, it’s not as good.

Very disappointed. Order Eggs Florentine with avocado. No flavor. I think they totally forgot salt in the dish. Latkes were burnt and at the same time under cooked in the middle. Not even close to enough hollandaise for a $20 dish. Only saving grace was the amount of avocado served.

Went for brunch. The food was good but overpriced. The portion sizes were sad to be honest. I ordered a vegan breakfast sandwich. The description said it’s a sandwich with sourdough bread. Was really stumped when I saw that you made a sandwich by cutting half a slice of bread and making a sandwich of it. That’s crazy! Also, ordered an iced matcha. Super tiny glass and was served to me when it was almost watered down and ice had melted.

I drove from Toronto and dine in twice! The food is so delicious, and staffs are friendly. I will definitely visit again!

My experience was not pleasant. I had to seat myself. The atmosphere was not welcoming for a newbie. Your prices are very expensive. I ordered take out pancakes with the peanut butter and Nutella and a chai latte. I told the server I would take it to go as Wi-Fi is not provided in the cafe for customers. She told me it is only available for use to managers. I was not given napkins or utensils for my meal.

Great food and service in a nice setting, simply awesome! Tried this place for first time along with family friends, will definitely consider for corporate event.

Gave us Montreal vibe. Nice ambience. The French toast was good. Weekends are quite busy so be prepared to wait 20 mins approx.to be seated.

My family and I had brunch here and really enjoyed it. We had the Rosti Florentine, Baja Fish Tacos, and my daughter had a kids pancake. All of the meals were very good.

Lovely brunch place, I went there with my friend after a workout. Loved the food, you need to try the shots they were super good! And I want to give my thanks to the waitress Siobhan, she was amazing! Whatever I asked her she brought it within a min, even tho she was busy with other tables! She is a rockstar!

Most disappointing eggs benedict I've ever had. There was a crunchy unknown substance in the cooked spinach, the latkes were burnt on the outside and undercooked in the centre, and basically no hollandaise sauce. Inedible; the only part I ate was the bacon. What a waste of money.

I've been in NYC all week. The food was spectacular across the board. But today at a little spot in Oakville I had the best Huevos Rancheros I've ever had - see photo. It can get busy, but well worth the wait. Compliments to the chefs!
