This place is definitely upscale so expect to pay a lot.

The ambience is classy; definitely a nice place for drinks with coworkers or even a date. Apparently they have the largest sake offering in the entire country?

Menu here is great and has a lot of variety; however I expected them to offer more unique dishes. The food however was definitely fresh and they had their own spin on “typical” Japanese dishes. While it was decent and different, I’m not sure I’d consider it worth the price. If I wanted sushi, I’d prefer to go to a smaller family-run establishment for half the price. But again, you are paying for the experience and ambience.

While the servers were very friendly and took the time to explain the menu, it was a bit difficult to navigate a small table. Our server had to remove some items from our table just to make room for the 3-4 dishes we ordered.

While I had a great overall experience, I’m not sure I could justify coming back on a regular basis.

Ki is bar first and restaurant second. First impression of the restaurant is: wow. Being located at the ground floor of TD Tower means you get 20 feet ceiling, great decor and fantastic location.

However, that's all about the positives you can say about this restaurant. The selection is limited and actual food is extremely pedestrian. We ordered short ribs - which literally is just randomly cut meat on bone (6pcs) with side of boiled bok choy and that cost $35! The black cod smell fishy and that too cost $35. The dinner quality there is truly a dishonor to this venue.

If you are looking for a great venue for a drink night out, sure- Ki would be a great choice. Hungry? Look elsewhere.

Went there last night and it was phenomenal. Our server Jason was funny, entertaining and most importantly professional. Had the black cod, it was really juicy and tender - portion was just a bit on the small size but the flavour was delicious. Torched salmon, dynamite, and butterfish sushi were all really good as well. Definitely a good experience.

Speechless how amazing and fresh the food was at Ki. They are the number 1 Japanese spot for a reason. My friend did the Sake and Japanese whiskey flights, and for each of them, the hosts was extremely thorough and well knowledged on the craft. Will be back here in the very near future.

Our server was friendly and helpful, especially to those in our group that had dietary restrictions.

One highlight was the Muzu Nigiri (butterfish with espresso topping) that I'd never had anywhere else!

Unfortunately, they did not have the Wagyu sando; our server mentioned that they only have 1 or 2 available per day. If you are specifically looking to dine here for the wagyu, I would recommend looking somewhere else.

Do not order the chirashi platter. Worse sashimi I had in the whole country. Worse quality than grocery sashimi. Texture was off. The fish is cut in giant chunks so not refined. The sushi rice lacking rice vinegar. The tempura dish is a much better choice. The atmosphere is great, the presentation was impressive but all I cared was the food quality. Price and quality of food not matching the value. Most likely will not return.

Very unique taste, despite small quantities, very filling just disappointed that they did not have mixed shrimp & vegetable tempura.

Each dish I order took 20 minutes, at some point I decide to cancel all further orders. Sushi tasted just like a white peoples store. Ki restaurant it’s a clear example on how overrated and overprice restaurants around Toronto financial district can be.

Service is absolutely impeccable and servers are extremely attentive. Food is good though some dishes we felt they needed a bit more flavor. Overall it was great

Nice place with tasty Japanese food. Come with ample time to enjoy the hospitality and quality food. Spare ribs were yummy and so was Salmon poke bowl (though not served in a bowl)!

I wanted to give a special shout out to our server Erin who was phenomenal. She knew the menu inside and out but most importantly she made our experience memorable during these trying times. She was very attentive as she was always making sure we were happy with our drinks and food at all times.

The food was a bit pricey but it is situated in the Financial District so it is to be expected. However, the food was tapas style but the portions were a good size that could be shared among friends or family. Therefore, the price was not bad. Most importantly, the food was very delicious and we will be definitely coming back!

Overall this restaurant is just average. The interior is nice and has a good feel to it. However, the service is subpar. Our server was not knowledgeable on both the drink menu and food menu. He constantly was rereading it in front of us. He even mistakenly told us that rice was apart of the tofu bowl. However, when the dish arrived there was no rice with the dish. Instead he brought out a separate bowl of rice that he then placed on the side. As someone who works in the industry I was very disappointed with the lack of product knowledge. Especially, because this is supposed to be a higher end restaurant. The bar service was quit slow as well. It took over 10 minutes for a cocktail. And the alcohol it used was quite cheap (I am referring to the Toki cocktail which cost $17). The food was good but did not warrant the price. There are many Japanese restaurants that a more affordable and offer a higher quality of food. Overall I would not dine here again.

Overall, the food we ordered is alright, it's above average but nothing memorable that would make you itching to come back for more. The portion is on the smaller size considering the price point. Another critique is the limited item on the menu, which means you will get bored easily after multiple visits. On the bright side, the sushi is amazing and I wish they have more selections or cuts of fish.

In terms of service, the staffs were amazing, very professional, kind, and courteous. The foods came in great pace allowing the patrons to take a break in between courses. All in all, I would give this place another shot and modify my review if it improves.

Always consistent food. Always a great bartender, I usually eat at the bar. It's my neighborhood go to spot for me.

Great evening/experience at Ki with my beautiful wife. The sharing plates were delectable & so were our mains. Our cocktails were also very good as were the desserts.

The service was on point & exceptional by Jamie. As was the service by her server assistant, Seanna. They worked well together & made sure our evening & dining was great. The attention given to us was very subtle, not bordering on obtrusive or anything.

My only bone of contention was the fact that the booth we were seated in was terribly ripped & looked very unruly tbh (as per picture). It really should have been repaired during the pandemic when everything was shuttered for months & more than enough time to do so….

Still, that will not adversely affect my 5 star rating though I did seriously consider it tbh. It is something that should be given proper/due action. Attention to details is important….

I actually really liked this place and I normally dislike restaurants in the Financial District because I find them too commercial and expensive, but Ki is actually great and the food was fantastic and the staff was very friendly. The waitress asked us to come back, and I will.

I ordered a Chirashi lunch and honestly this is the worst Chirashi I have ever had. I usually order this item from all kinds of places, it usually costs $20-$25. This place however charges $34 plus tips and tax total of $45 I expected it much better but NOPE! A few thin unevenly cut stale looking sashimi on rice, food was scattered they don't even bother to try to make it pretty like even other much cheaper places.if I get this from a food court for 10 dollars, I would say that is about right. But packaging is fancy and "silver plastic folk" gives you an idea that this is not from a cheap restaurant. Opening up to look the food inside, the food looks literally offensive! It could be a left over pieces just thrown on a coop of rice. I will never ever order from this place again. I understand Covid makes it difficult for restaurants but if you can not keep the quality, two suggestions; 1: Do not sell 2: if you don't bother about the quality, then lower your price. Pay attention to the second pic, that the box they used for food is literally dirty, I am suspicious it was reused or just picked up from a garbage bin, it is gross and outrageous. It is all raw fish and rice, soy sauce was in a little separate package. I can not think of what the brown stain is!

My experience from summer 2020–We ordered Ginger fried karaage chicken, ki beef maki, Antarctic sea bass sautéed in butter, torched salmon makimono, marinated grilled short ribs & for dessert, we got ice cream served with chocolate tuile & white biscotti, matcha cheesecake & chocolate truffle cake. Ah, so amazing! I highly recommend this place for your future date night events ️

(2019-03-13) [2-stars, from 3] Been here probably ten more times since last review. Chirashi don was completely underwhelming. Poor value. Fish was average (not worth price).

(2017-01-11) [3-stars] Dinner. Good atmosphere, good service, good food, above average prices. Price to quality could be better. Sashimi was decent (I tried kani, ebi, tako, hotate, mutsu, otoro, maguro, sake). Ebi mayo, black cod, seared scallops were good. Not my go-to place for sushi. There's more value in cooked dishes most likely.

Great food at reasonable prices. Good view of the hustle and bustle of the financial core, or you can get a cozier table away from the large windows.
Tuna is fantastic

Sheek and serene atmosphere. Kiwi Tuna and Torched Salmon rolls were my favorite. Chris was our server and was awesome! Our first time in Canada, and he gave us good recommendations for post-dinner plans. Thanks for the dessert chocolates!

Extremely busy, in the center of Toronto’s financial district. Decent Asian food with vegan and gluten free options. Definitely make a reservation if you plan on going Thursday evening.

Great upscale but casual atmosphere, food quality is excellent, only down side is very long wait time for service and food (even when not busy) Will eat here again for certain.

Great place to go on a week night with your work team given the conviennent location. However, the drinks and food are a bit pricey for the quality and the service is often extremely slow.you often have to chase your waiter for another round and make sure to ask the bill at least half an hour before you actually plan on leaving because it will likely take that long or more to settle your tab.but overall it’s a decent place for downtown! They have a good selection of sharing place and the sushi are not bad either. Perfect for snack!

Amazing food, service and ambiance+ they've kept my severe food allergies on-file for years and rigorously check my food every time without me having to remind them. Literally the only place I eat sushi in this city. Ki is unbeatable.

This is a big statement, but it's possibly the best sushi I have ever had! And the cocktails were also delicious. The outside area was a nice place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city while being right in the centre of Toronto

Price not worth quality. Way better sushi available in cheaper price. Only reason for getting a star is the server being nice and attentive. Not my recommendation.

Can't believe ppl find this place amazing.

Cher et vraiment pas terrible. Le lieu est cosy genre lumières tamisées et grand espace. Les sushis sont chers et vraiment basiques. Les quantités faibles. Le jus de fruit est tellement dilué qu'il ne mérite plus son nom. Et ils feraient bien de nettoyer un peu les banquettes qui sentent vraiment le castor.

Gorgeous restaurant with amazing decor and patio, restaurant was clean, fancy yet warm. The dishes are definitely not cheap, but taste quite good and the portions are decent. My only complain is that for sushi, it took a long time, close to 30 minutes, and the dessert took even longer.no servers coming to check up on us regularly either. Aside from that, had a good time.

Such a nice sake pairing dinner event, the breweries reps were around and explain the sake details to us. We had tried out 8 types of sake for the whole night. Regarding the foods, I personally like the maguro with watermelon, it was so refreshing, and also the cucumber-mint soup can help to increase appetit.definitely these 2 dishes are perfect for summer. Also, the grilled octopus was so tender and with a touch of charcoal smell.

Service was sub par -waited far too long between courses - they apologized for the delay and comped some of the dinner. Overall did not come close to meeting my expectation.

Came for lunch. Food was great. Fresh and food was served hot. The other complaint and a MAJOR one I have was the service. Had to remind him twice for my hot water as I was under the weather and the extra sauce we asked for came after the dish was finished. We had to flag the waiter to take our order. Never came by to refill our water. The waiter never said thank you after we paid. We were never rude them and spoke to them politely. So not sure why such bad service.

Great good, highly cost prohibitive. Expect to be spending at least $30 before any alcohol gets involved. Portions are pretty modest.

We have been going here since 2005. Even though the menu changes, the quality and uniqueness of the dishes are consistently amazing!
With the new menu, I am going to crave a lot of dishes but especially the grilled A5 Miyazaki Wagyu skewers, the fried eggplant with momiji as well as the date cake with miso caramel

It's a nice restaurant but the food is nothing special. Not that quality was bad but it was nothing special about it considering the price. I think it's worth trying the first time for someone who hasn't been there before. But I won't ever miss this place.

Excellent experience at Ki. The staff are pleasant and helpful. The restaurant is very lovely and casual. We enjoyed a variety of dishes and everything was delicious. The steak and lamb were cooked perfectly and very tasty. The dessert was the chocolate truffle cake which was actually just a giant truffle, very rich and extremely chocolatey!

One of my favorite places for Japanese fare in Toronto. Upper scale professionalism noticed in staff both at reception and table service. Impressive and tactful floorplan (leading to a popular patio as weather permits). Food is always well prepared with appropriate check-ins to make sure all of your needs are met. 5/5 stars

Delish food, lovely high-end service and attn to detail here. From the hostess (who volunteered to go get our coats for us when we showed our coat tags, asking where we needed to go to pick them up - I arrived late and friends had checked them already. When we went to leave, I offered to go get them for them - showing them to the hostess just to ask where I should go, she so loverly, instead of pointing me to where they were, went and got them for us. So sweet of her!), to the server, who was attentive to all of us, including the 13 year old boy at the table. Amazing levels of service. And as always, the food - fab!

By far the best Japanese fusion restaurant in town.not only the food is to die for but the venue is gorgeous and the staff super friendly!

Great service and outstanding food. Love sitting at the Sushi Bar. It is like you are in your own world
