Kibo Sushi House - Avenue

Ordered sushi/sashimi/roll platter for me and my wife. Absolutely disgusting. I mean inedible disgusting.

Have ordered from this location in the past and I remember the last time couple times we've ordered from here (2-3 times over the past 6 months) their fish was gross. I thought perhaps we were unlucky and we should give cheap sushi a try. No, this place is just terrible, it's not palatable. My wife even spit her food into the napkin went she put the 3rd roll in her mouth. "I'm done, I can't eat this. It's disgusting. "

She's 100% right. Threw the rest out and never buying from here again.

Great place! One of the best sushi’s in Toronto, The people were working hard and very kind. Great restaurant overall!

We usually order from here and it is almost always good but once in a while they are inconsistent. If you like crunchy with your roll, I don't recommend the way they do it here. They fry beets for the crunch and it tasted like a combo of cardboard and metal. I like beets for the record.

I ordered the salmon lovers on Friday. They randomly gave me spicy salmon maki instead of a salmon maki and they put wasbi in the sushi which was unpleasant. Wasbi should only ever be on the side. It was unclear that wasbi would be added in the sushi.

In terms of quality sometimes the sushi is the best in town and other times its just alright.

Edit: The website does indicate spicy salmon. Looks like my confusion is the picture showed normal salmon. I guess I should not assume the picture matches the product? I think my feedback is pretty straightforward, and based on a few other reviews about the wasbi, I think its worth listening to your customers feedback rather than saying thats how it is. I also mentioned this to my friends who have ordered the sushi and they have said the same thing. Maybe add an option to confirm if the customer wants wasbi in their sushi?

I will still likely order from you, but I will only be ordering maki going forward. I am just disappointed with my most recent order not being what I expected.

I usually get the platter from Kibo Sushi and the sushi is always good and fresh but this location in particular always forgets to give me miso soup.

One of our go to favourites. The food is great and well priced. The service is very quick and fresh and the staff are very kind. We keep going back!

This is the best take out sushi you'll ever have! It's so fresh, you can refrigerate the leftovers and it'll still be fresh the following day. I always get the sushi, tempura, sashimi, etc.multiple times, its my go to place and everything has always been fresh.not to mention their great cash deals! Your money will definitely be well spent.

Great Sushi! Best I have ever had. Good size portions. I am huge sushi eater and I have to admit that the food was super delicious and the portions were filling. I highly recommend the place. Great job and you will be definitely seeing me again there. Yum!

Worst customer service ever!
I walked in nobody had mask on … I really dont care about this part but you have big sign saying NO MASK NO SERVICE. Cashier was rude and they told me they are on lunch we dont take orders!
This is first time im hearing this from a restaurant at 2 pm!

Always delicious & fresh. We have done both takeout and delivery from this location and are never disappointed.

Got the maki c set and some shrimp dumplings and they were spectacular especially for the price:) definitely ordering again

I have tried all the sushi restaurants on Avenue Rd, north of Lawrence.
This is the best. Sushi is always fresh and reasonably priced.

I went to Kibo for the first time on Mother's Day. I miscalculated my evening pick up and they replaced some of my food when I arrived so that it was fresh. Couldn't ask for better service than that, and my mom loved it all! We'll be back for sure!

I was home sick all day from my second vaccine and had trouble keeping things down, sitting up and my fever was giving me a super miserable time.

Then I Uber ordered Kibo’s udon soup.

My life changed the second I poured the hot broth in with the noodles as the smell and the temperature was amazing. Eating it was a delight as I shoved spoonful after spoonful of delicious broth and perfectly cooked noodles into my mouth. For those 10 glorious minutes, I forgot about the aches and pains.

The amazing thing is that my fever is gone and I feel human again. This soup literally cured me.

10/10 recommend eating after getting your second covid vax.

My go to Sushi place on Uber Eats. Love their Tempura, Chicken Karage, and Sushi. My only gripe is more often than not they are unavailable for delivery on Uber Eats

I ordered spicy salmon and tuna roll one of them test old last time was this can be health hazard now I see another comment about this I will not order again.

Small place but have ordered take-out multiple times and really enjoy their sushi, bento boxes, fried gyozas! The brown rice maki are really good as well!

Delicious sushi at affordable prices is a hallmark of this chain, and the Avenue location doesn't disappoint! The handrolls and sashimi are always prepared fresh upon order, and the tempura and edamame are great additions to any meal. Service is quick and the staff are super friendly as well. Definitely worth visiting for your next sushi fix!

Tried Kibo Sushi for the first time to know if it would be my "shortlisted place for sushi" and I loved it!
Very quick service, good staff and really good sushi.fresh and full of flavours. I mean it FRESH unlike at other sushi places where it is mostly prepared way ahead and the rolls looses all the flavours.

I ordered a party platter from here and everything was so disgusting. Our sashimi tasted old and expired and ruined the whole experience. I regret buying from here

The food is quite tasty with very fair prices! My family and I love their extensive vegetarian options. I ordered online and was pleasantly surprised my order was ready ahead of the designated pickup time. Highly recommend!

I just went to Kibo Sushi and they refused to serve me. They said that they were too busy? I then logged on to uber eats and i was able to order from them? WTF
I order frequently from them. I guess they will be one customer less busy now. Too bad they have pretty good take out sushi.

Had a few different menu items delivered via Uber eats. Was good, but not great. $97 for 2 adults and 2 kids with no real leftovers. Dumplings were great, tempura vegetables were “meh”.

Seriously 2 hours for a take out? Why would they take new orders if they cannot deliver within an acceptable time.then I called them and they lied to me telling me the person picking up was not there when I know he was there. Not trusthworthy people.

As they have gotten busier, they started to get extremely poor in customer care over little stuff. They refuse to serve. Its a shame!

We ordered Kibo sushi tonight to see whether the food would live up to the ratings. Colossal "no". Miso soup powder was sprinkled all over the bag. I guess they try to dissolve their secret recipe powder during transit. The salad dressing was awful. The raw fish was so expired we had to throw it all out due to a foul odour. Every single thing we ordered. Cheap, yes. Edible, no. You've been warned.

Omg their bento special is amazing. Didnt expect that much quailty and taste! Highly recommand for sure. Btw their sushi is also great as well.

I got take out from this restaurant (specifically Maki set C) and was BLOWN AWAY by how good their sushi tasted! Also, I loved the detail of putting all my utensils and soy sauce into the napkin (it's the little things that matter). You can tell they care that you have a good experience whether you're dining in or taking out. Will be returning for sure!

I think it is the best sushi in the area for an affordable price. You get a decent amount of food and the staff is always friendly. It is take-out only and the service is fairly quick.

Wonderful sushi. You can order off of uber eats as well. One of the best sushi I have tried. A little more pricey on uber but we’ll worth it!

I don’t recommend for Uber orders. They often have wrong or missing items for delivery services.

AMAZING! Prices are great, I'd say relatively cheap for sushi. Probably the best sushi I've ever had, including sushi almost twice its price. I'm a real sushi fanatic and this place really surprised me. Staff are also really organized and very nice! I used to manage a fast food store and I really applaud them for being so efficient and organized.

Good price for what u get and pieces are bigger than usual which is great, soo yummy and feels authentic. It even comes with a little styrofoam thing for ur soy sauce when u order it to go

Really tasty poke bowls here at kibo sushi house. Their sushi is pretty solid too, but the poke keeps us coming back. Delicious mix of flavours.
They only do (white) rice or salad for their poke bowls, so we do rice.

I honestly can't believe the service my sister and I just experienced at this place. We ordered 2 salmon avocado rolls and a spicy salmon, when I clicked 'place order' it came out as one Dynamite roll and a spicy salmon instead. I immediately called the restaurant and explained the mistake, maybe it was a glitch, maybe it was my fault. I asked politely if my order can be switched from one dynamite ($11.95) to the two salmon avocado rolls ($11.60) super simple request. The lady who picked up at 9: 20 was so unbelievably rude, she literally didn't give a sh*t. Her response was to call uber to fix it- I explained that by the time I called Uber the cooks would have already made the wrong order and if she could just ask whoever was in charge there at the moment and help me out. She said no and kept arguing me on it! She didn't even try or care to help out my situation, I asked if she could ask her manager or the chefs, she just kept saying no because she could say no, even though what I wanted to switch was cheaper than what I paid for. So incredibly disappointed. The one star is for the fact that the sushi is actually good here, but so are tons of other sushi restaurants in the city who actually care about their customers.

It used to be my favourite sushi place, was never disappointed before. Just picked up an order for beef teriyaki, and everything tasted horrible. The beef had a funky/spoiled smell and aftertaste, sushi was very bland and tasteless, they forgot to put chop sticks and napkins. The wasabi was mixed with something bland and incredibly tasteless. There was no usual soy sauce or tray for mixing wasabi. The whole thing felt like a setup against me, and I'm not the picky/sensitive type. So I threw away the beef and rice. Next time I will have to do a test on a smaller order if I choose to go back there.
