So many interesting vegetarian options! This spot never disappoints. My husband loves fish and I don't, so this is our go to.

Eating in, the staff are quick and so kind. The place is so cute and the booths are amazing to sit in. It's very clean. Pick up orders are also on point! Very much recommended!

I have been to Kibo many times in the past and they do not disappoint. It is not an inexpensive meal, but service is always excellent, food is to die for. One small pet peeve I have with servers is now they have taken to asking if I want any change back. Anywhere I go I am asked this and I do not like it because I feel I am being pressured into giving a bigger tip, like 40 per cent rather than what I would like to choose to do. I normally like to give 25 per cent on excellent service, but when I am asked that question I leave 20 per cent.

This is our go-to spot for take out sushi. Prices are quite good, as is the quality. My favourite is the spicy salmon roll, while my wife is a big fan of the shrimp tempura.

Ordered their sushi platter from Ubereats, pricing was very good for a 30 piece platter consisting of sashimi, nigiri and rolls. They are also giving a free spicy tuna roll for orders over $30 on ubereats right now.

The sushi tasted good for the price point of $44/platter. The rice to fish ratio was good, and everything tasted fresh, I especially liked the salmon and dragon roll.

I would definitely order from here again. It’s a great place if you’re looking for some decent sushi at an affordable price point.

I LOVE kibo sushi, and I used to love the Leslieville location-but it is in DESPERATE need of a deep clean and update since the pandemic! I took a friend from out of town here for lunch the other day-the floors were slick with grease, the tables were chipped and seat cushions tossed about like an afterthought-but the worst part was the FRUIT FLIES all over restaurant! The basement washrooms were the worst of all-literally infested with clouds of fruit flies so thick I was glad I had a mask on or would’ve breathed them in!
Kibo is a fantastic chain, but this place does NOT live up to its standards.

Cutting corners with tiniest sashimi pieces, poor cuts or raw fish. Special rolls stuffed in same container of multiples. Poor presentation and below average sashimi

Really good sushi places are hard to find on the Eastside. This one is.okay. I liked it enough both times but it's nothing extraordinary.

Really weird tuna tartare-it came on lettuce, fine. But that lettuce was loaded in ceasar salad dressing. Raw tuna + caesar dressing at a Japanese restaurant? Very odd. I had to try it a few times to be sure that was what I was tasting because I've never heard of this before. Ended up trying to not let the tuna touch any of the dressing. Sushi pizza was severely lacking in sauce, and the thin sauce it did have was really sweet. It wasn't the eel sauce that we are used to. The scallops were fresh but the whole dish was sort of bland except for the overly sweet sauce.

Tempura veg and shrimp was good, batter and oil was fresh and perfectly cooked. Octopus was.balls. We thought it would be actual octopus, but it was what I assume was fish-like balls, with a tiny piece of octopus stuffed in the center. Agedashi tofu was just not good.

We tried a new roll for us instead of the usual green dragon or unagi variations, so we chose the Kamikaze roll. It wasn't spicy at all. It was well made, but lacked a lot of flavour. However, you do get A LOT for the price. So, that's a good thing.

They never seem to have beef tataki even though it's on the menu.

By the end of the meal, the roof of my mouth was cut up and sore, which has never happened before but perhaps that's just because I made the mistake of ordering so many fried options. Not the restaurant's fault, but I just found it strange.

Prices were good. Everything was wellmade and nicely presented but not particularly flavourful or really tasty. The space is comfy, clean, and well decorated and everyone at other tables seemed to be enjoying themselves a lot. Server was nice as well. It wasn't a bad experience at all, just the food wasn't as tasty as I had been hoping.

EDIT: September 2022. I added a star because our last visit here was very good. Much better. Everything was available and all of it was tasty, and great server too. Had tuna and beef tartare and so much better than before. Sashimi was fresh and tasty.

Mostly ok sushi but some pieces were poorly cut. Small portions compared to the Liberty Village location which is MUCH better.

Maybe an ok sushi spot for the Leslieville crowd but bad compared to downtown TO.

We use to order take out regularly and finally went in to dine. Very friendly service and excellent sushi. My favourite is the vegetable dumpling soup!

Worst food ever. Maki tray is all fake crab, spoiled avocado and sauces to mask the lack of quality. They are overpriced garbage! Don’t waste your time with this store

I usually get the spicy salmon + spicy tuna roll special here and it’s always a banger! ️ Love the crunch, taste, and they use the perfect amount of rice.

Most recently I tried their salmon tataki, kani salad, and yam roll. The kani salad is my fav.

The prices here are quite reasonable! I’ve only gotten things for delivery takeout & can’t wait until the day I get to dine in.

I eat here often, staff are wonderful and food is always delightful.
I would highly suggest to anyone. Looking forward to sitting down inside with some sake again.

This spot clearly knows how to serve their customers. Constantly with a very welcoming mindset. The food is conveniently priced, constantly delicious and clean.

Delicious sushi at affordable prices is a hallmark of this chain, and the Leslieville location doesn't disappoint! The handrolls and sashimi are always prepared fresh upon order, and the tempura and edamame are great additions to any meal. Service is quick and the staff are super friendly as well. Definitely worth visiting for your next sushi fix!

Salmon Avocados are great but stay away from the Unagi Don, it was 80% all skin, the eel was extremely unfresh, tasted horrible like it was stored for a long time, very disappointed, threw the rest of it away, took like 3 bites.it was disgusting, what a waste

Very neat and welcoming restaurant. They offer generous portions and for reasonable rates. We loved the food very much and the staff were super friendly and informative. Recommended.

I don’t know how anyone can rate this sushi as good. We ordered based on all the rave reviews on a Facebook group as we just moved into the neighbourhood and I can’t even say it was ok. It was plain awful. The whole order had an Indian smell to it, the sushi pizza had an Indian flavour to it. Almost as if all the vegetables were sitting in the same space as Indian food/spices and absorbed the smell and taste. The sushi was not well cut, the miso soup was not as flavourful as other sushi restaurants. I would not order again.

After 3 bad experiences I’m writing a review. The last being a 2.5 hour wait for an order placed online. All of my issues occurred when I ordered by phone or online so I can’t speak to in house experiences. Our order finally came after 2 calls to the restaurant (missing items and with poorly rolled sushi that fell apart). They eventually offered me a $30 credit on our $100 order which I am never going to use as they’ve lost our business. They also took the liberty of adding a 15% tip. I know it’s not the drivers fault so I hope he gets every cent but I have my doubts. The times prior were issues with missing items and long wait times.

I love this place, used to love sitting in the booths and enjoying the wonderful food. Now I really enjoy the takeout which is produced quickly and with great care. Food is wonderful and price is amazing.

This place is the one I like best. I go to plenty of restaurants but to this restaurant I constantly return again and again. The crew is very chummy and the cuisine they serve is so tasty. I am always happy to have a nice dinner in this place. I highly recommend this place.

The menu in KIBO LESLIEVILLE are very comprehensive. I opted for Spicy Tuna Roll, Tuna Sushi and Dynamite Roll which was the prefect choice. Value for money and fish freshness was top-notch. See how busy the staffs are and line-up at the restaurant by both walk-in customers and Uber drivers. I would probably come back here again even though I never rated good for franchise restaurants. This one changed my perception.

I usually like the food here but my recent delivery order was a big disappointment. Several items missing from the order, food was over cooked but cold upon arrival and found a hair in my sushi pizza

This restaurant is doubtless one of the tastiest restaurants in the neighborhood. Anytime I come to this place I am truly happy. They manage their very high level service and the topmost level of food they serve. You definitely will enjoy this this place. Highly recommended.

Disappointing customer service. Called to get an update on a pickup UberEats order because the pickup time was pushed by 30 min unexpectedly. A woman over the phone told me to check the app and quickly hung up on me while I was mid sentence. I called back asking if I could cancel the order. Again they hung up on me before I could say anything else. Honestly, I understand if it’s busy. I wanted to be able to get an update on my order because I thought the app made a mistake. I would’ve waited if the staff wasn’t so rude.

We placed an order from this place on Uber Eats. I don't know if it's due to Covid or what but I feel so grossed out after having a small portion of this sushi. It had a strong funky damp basement smell like it was prepackaged and stored in a basement fridge for a while together with a bunch of other foods.
The white tuna sashimi and pretty much the whole box had a super strong smell of onions.
I ended up throwing it out and ordered sushi from another place. My advice to the owner of this place is to not cheap out on the quality of fish - it can cause serious food poisoning or, in worse cases even hepatitis.
I understand the situation during Covid but try to keep your food fresh please.

I celebrated my graduation last night in this great place.happy to tell that we had a awesome evening and the venue was no doubt the reason for the happy event. Decent price, good veggie options. Staff were friendly. Only thing missing was getting green tea - I find most other sushi restaurants offer green tea for free which is a lovely gesture.

A dynamite neighborhood spot that good friends took me to on a recent visit. Small place without the pretentious vibe that some Japanese restaurants have. Better yet, excellent sushi, especially since it isn't slathered with mayo the way they do it around Cincinnati. (Gross!) Check it out.

Had a great time at this location! We were craving some sushi on a Saturday afternoon and headed over.

Seating was prompt. It can get a little packed in the restaurant as it's not huge, but there was ample space and there are a couple booths.

Service was delightful. There was only one waitress serving the entire place that day but she managed to serve our table very efficiently without being over bearing. Very friendly as well.

The food was great and they offer a lot of your standard fare you'd expect from a sushi place. They also had some house special rolls that are delicious! We tried the roll with garlic sauce and toasted tilapia. I didn't know garlic and sushi was something I needed in my life until now, but I'm happy that I've had the experience.

Will definitely be returning again soon!

This place is my preferable site. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this place. Whenever I feel like having a good lunch, this is the place that comes instantly to my mind.fresh and all sorts of food and a rich cuisine.generous crew, and agreeable ambience. Also, the price is affordable. I tell about this place with no doubt.

We arrived at this restaurant for dinner.we heard about this spot from quite a few people. Well, we were not disappointed. The staff members welcomed us with a smile and we had a great feeling. My partner and I have been here multiple times and every single time both the food and service has been amazing and fast! The Chef's Choice Sashimi combo is one of our favorites as well as the salmon & cream cheese kibo rolls, highly recommend!

Maki was good. Tataki was underwhelming, not much to it. Same for the avocado salad. Service was good, but overall well on the pricey side for basic Japanese in the neighborhood.

Great vegan options, since the tempura is vegan. Don't get the miso soup if you don't eat fish, it is made with fish powder. The bentos are great value, they come with soup and salad. I haven't tried the mango sushi, but it looks delicious

Last week was the first time we went to this restaurant. But It is no doubt not the last time. We enjoyed the evening very much with the courteous service, with the finest dishes and booze and with the friendly payment. We will no doubt return there in a short time.

Really great sushi, and their cash and carry deal is hard to beat. The private booths inside are also really fun to eat in. This is definitely our go-to sushi place in Leslieville and everyone there is super nice.

I dine in this lovely place a lot! This is the best place to have a bite. I visit this place routinely. The food is very good, the crew is friendly and the price is reasonable. I enjoy being in this restaurant to have a decent supper.

I've dined in and ordered delivery and takeout from here multiple times and have not been disappointed once. The food always comes looking and tasting fresh. My favourite part about Kibo is I actually get a sauce dish to put my soy sauce and Wasabi in! It is a lifesaver

Regular customer for years now. Because they accommodated my preference for no salmon.until tonight. But they’re renovating now so I guess that’s more important than long standing customers. “Tuna is expensive now”. Disappointing #shame #goodluckwithyourreno but #notsomuch

Food overall is good only thing is the sashimi rice is cold which I don’t know before I order it. But the Korean Server (I guess she is a Korean because of her makeup) is really nice, she brought us one bowl of hot rice and I guess this is customer service. Will come back because of this server

I ordered here through Uber and what a nice surprise. Sushi was fresh and delicious, tempura was extremely light, not oily at all. The selection is excellent compared to some places, I mean, who has 3 types of Philadelphia rolls! Will be ordering again!

I love this place! They serve delicious dishes, their menu is nice, The cook in that place is very experienced, I enjoy a lot eating all their food. The food is always tasty, the service towards the guests is helpful. I often go to this place and I not even once was discontended. I highly recommend it.
