Kibo Sushi House - St.Clair

I came with my little dog, not only was I refused to eat at the restaurant, they didn't even allow me to wait for my order inside and asked me to wait outside at -15^
I didn't see any signs that you can't stay with animals inside
It is a pity that there is such a treatment of customers

Today we ordered and there was some kind of misunderstanding with our order. The customer service was really good and they resolve our problem in a really good way. Also the food was delicious!

Always reliable takeout! I can’t speak for the dine-in experience but this is my go to spot for ordering in.

This location gave me food poisoning, I had to go to hospital. Will never eat here again. You can tell by the washrooms the establishment is lax on cleanliness.

KIBO never disappoints! High quality and fresh ingredients are used, and prices remain lower than any of the competition. Finally, an attention to detail and lots of love go into creating every single item ordered.

My chicken teriyaki was bland and had no "grilled" taste at all. And I had a bento box but I would have expected some dumplings, sushi, or tempura to go with it.

Very poor customer service, I would not recommend this place to anyone. Limited taste to the food, kind of the McDonald’s of sushi.

Just had my 2nd experience at this location and it isn’t the best. The first time I came in I ordered for my family of 8 I was overwhelmed with the menu and don’t know what items are best to order since it was my first time coming to this location. I tried asking the staff inside their establishment and they were not helpful just left me alone to order struggling. I just called now (April 3rd 2023) wanting to order for my family total of 8 of us for a birthday celebration. I asked the woman on the phone for suggestions and explained I was overwhelmed with the variety of options on their website. She was very dismissive and told me to call in 15 minutes once I’m ready to try ordering again. I said should I come in to order at your location instead to get assistance in person? She seemed dismissive again as if she did not care and made me feel like I was not considered a valued customer. Not sure why the 2 times I’ve communicated with them it seems like they just don’t care for my business. I don’t receive this type of treatment at other Japanese restaurants. Makes me feel awful for calling and ordering food.

Great prices for tasty food.

I was impressed with the amount of sushi for the price in particular.

The server was excellent and very kind.

Just an average Japanese restaurant. Although I only had their bento box, I didn’t find anything that’s “special” about this place.

I just ordered a Donburi. The salmon was cut so thin it was the equivalent to maybe three pieces of sashimi. It's supposed to be 12. Not worth it. Very disappointed.

I am puzzled how this St. Clair location gets these good reviews. Everyone knows when eating Sushi and Sashimi, food freshness is the utmost importance. Two out of the three times I ordered from them, the fish/seafoods for the sushi/sashimi were NOT fresh at all. One time I had diarrhea the next day after I had their sushi. But, it was during the pandemic lockdown I figure local businesses were already struggling so I let it go. I placed another order from them today and once again the fish/seafood sushi were not fresh! The fish/seafood were slightly discolored, dry and hard to the touch and by looking one can tell they were not freshly made to order. I ended up throwing them all away and I will never visit this location again!

I strongly suggest others to spend their hard earned money elsewhere. Life is too short for disappointments like this.

I am very impressed wirh Kibo Sushi! Long story short, after coming home from the hospital after giving birth all I wanted was some local sushi. My family and I placed a big for delivery and unfortunately the Skip the dishes delivery person never delivered our food even though it said it was delivered. We looked at our neighbour's door step and looked everywhere and surprisingly no call either. When we followed up with Skip they said the driver couldn't find our white house even though we live 5 mins away from the restaurant. Extremely disappointed after a rough delivery I contacted Kibo and explained what happened and that Skip the Dishes really messed up. Needless to say, they mailed a gift card to our home and was so impressed with their customer service. So thank you for listening and being a great restaurant! That's how it's done ️

I can't comment on the regular sushi, I always order the same thing. The Veggie Maki A. Delicious. I came in to write this review because I'm super pleased that Kibo has stopped using black plastic (which is not recyclable in Toronto). The sushi containers are now PET plastic and therefore recyclable.

Great food, great quality, great price! My young family loves this place. We have ordered take out a few dozen times over the past two years, and have never been disappointed. I don't know how the service inside the restaurant for dine in is, but take out has been excellent.

Kibo Sushi House is definitely my favourite sushi place in Toronto. Never Disappointed. Absolutely love it!

I heard such good things about this place but when we ordered $100 worth of food a few weeks ago, we probably ended up throwing out 70% of it. The tuna was like playing Russian roulette on if you were going to get one with a funky taste. The octopus tasted like it was from a dirty tank. Some of the salmon texture was like biting styrofoam. The pieces were falling apart and cut very uneven (that’s more superficial, but still not what you expect from maki). The tempura and beef were quite good which is why I’ll give two stars instead of one.

The staff are kind and they offer a fast, efficient service. The Maki platters never disappoint. I love this sushi house.

Ordered some dumplings and chicken appetizers and it tasted like it came frozen from a box. Rolls were covered in bright purple and red tempura bits which was a bit odd. Overpriced.

The customer service is consistently fast, awesome character, kind staff members. I will visit here again when I am nearby.

We like a lot hanging out. Yesterday we arrived in this fine restaurant which friends told us about. We passed a beautiful time there with excellent food and a well-trained team and a talented chef. We added this fine restaurant in our list and we will certainly visit again soon. We highly recommend.

We spent a beautiful evening there with first-rate cooking and a well-trained stuff and an impressive cook. We put this restaurant in our list and we will surely visit again very soon. I love this restaurant. The food is well prepared and presented beautifully, the atmosphere is comfortable, and the serving staff is incredibly kind. I'm thankful that they are a part of the St. Clair community and I can't speak of them highly enough. <3

Ordered over the phone. The lady hung up on me twice. She was very rude and impatient, I've never been spoken to so rudely ordering food before. And they were rude to my mom in person when she went to pick up. The redeeming quality is that the food is good, but too expensive. Wouldn't go again.

Great place for sushi! - This is always my go to for sushi orders especially on ubereats. I really like their udon soup and their salmon avocado rolls. Before covid I used to sit inside all the time and the service was excellent. Love their miso soup as well and the prices are very reasonable.

I usually go to Kibo on Wilson and that one is amazing! This location does the salmon bento box so different and it was not up to par. Very disappointed when I ordered takeout.

Tried this place before with a friend and I am hooked since then. I loved the excellent ambience and tasty food and beverages. Kudos.

This place is my favored. I eat in plenty of restaurants but to this one I go the most. The team is very cordial and the cuisine they serve is so flavorful. I never miss an opportunity to have a decent meal in this place. Highly recommended.

Great sushi, good location and service.

EDIT: Let me preface this by saying that I have been to this particular Kibo Sushi branch 4 more times since my last review. As someone who has eaten at some of the world's best Michelin-star restaurants in Copenhagen, Dubai, Mexico City (and some of the best Japanese restaurants in the world Nobu, Zuma). I do not expect Nobu or Zuma experiences when I go to Kibo, but for the money, this is some of the best value Japanese in Toronto. The food is good, the service is professional, quick, and very pleasant!

Great priced sushi and excellent quality. Order ahead was super fast but also friendly upon arrival which is not always the case for take out.
You will be filled up by their large portions, definitely recommend in this area.

Our go-to local sushi joint for fast and reasonably priced. Our kids hoover up everything we order, it's all fresh and tasty.

Food was great. Sushi was fresh. Presentation of the food was simple yet elegant. Soup is very hot, so please be careful.

Frequently get sushi from this place because everything is so fresh and priced right. Their Green Dragon is delectable - the avocado is so creamy and robust. If you like sushi, this place is to go to on St. Clair Ave!

We visited the restaurant on Friday in a group of 5 people. Great service, all dishes came fast, and food is okay. However, the price could be less expensive to justify the quality of the food.

I eat in this spot a lot since I work right next to it. I have to say the customer service is always awesome and they keep the spot neat all the time. Prices are reasonable and they serve generous portions.

Ordered pick up. 1.5 hours later my two sushi rolls still weren’t ready. Tried calling several times and no one answered. No voice mail. Terrible set up. Will not try to order from here again.

Fresh and decadent sushi and sashimi for all! Tasty fried appetizers, would recommend their shrimp tempura or takoyaki. Dedicated chefs with every plate beautifully decorated to match the roll or set. Prices are not outrageous for the level of quality and taste.

Fantastic and flavorful food, I liked the mood this spot has, and the workers were helpful. Will surely come back.

The quality of sushi here is absolutely amazing. I have taken several friends here before and they all love it and have come back with me. It is not all you can eat and is instead a la carte.

The waitresses are very patient and kind and will do their best to explain portions of the menu. The food service comes pretty quick and the presentation is top notch.

I usually love this place but today Shian was extremely rude and threw my order in front of me. I went in the store and asked for the $5 special as advertised outside. Shian said they were too busy to offer the special. When I insisted, she finally agreed but had such an attitude. She threw my bill in front of me then threw my food in front of me - bascially telling me to leave. I called the manager Alvin to tell him what happened but he didnt really seem to care at all. Ive never had a problem with this place but the customer service will make me think twice about going in there!

I had the katsu don, crispy on the outside and tender and hot in the inside, rice was properly prepared.
Tried some Uni, fresh, firm proper texture. The service was attentive and polite. Interior is cozy with exposed brick and high ceilings. Nice place to linger over a large vessel of warm Sake.
Look forward to going back.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Love the portion sizes (huge and filling), so much flavour, and the price is so good! I commute two hours for this place.

Ordered online for the first time, wish I could give zero star. They messed up ur order like the other reviews said. Walked and picked up the order home found it was wrong order and then called the resto the male staff was extremely rude saying that it’s not their fault it’s because there were two customers with the same name ordered online and said it was our fault not to check the receipt. Yes I agreed we should have checked but when the cashier knew that there r two same names order u could have double checked with customers who came to pick up, not just busy about taking our money and not to check at all! The male server who picked up the phone said nothing but pointed at our nose on the phone and being loud to us saying that it’s not their fault said that it’s totally our responsibility and even told us send their sushi back as soon as possible. How ridiculous! First time getting some response like this without even an apology. U r offering online order for customers and u (the male staff who picked up the phone) think online order went wrong was all on us there’s nothing wrong with u? Can’t think of anything else to say but RIDICULOUS! First time also last time. Never again!

The Kibo was delicious, variety menu and clean and kind! Very good near the sushi neighbourhood. Last valentines day I have been there. Best sushi neighbour and welcome to st clair west! Staff was patient!
