Kibo Sushi Sherbourne

I placed an order for a single person dinner (ie not a large quantity of food) and it took the restaurant 2hours to prepare the meal for pick up by Uber Eats. Meanwhile the driver is sitting outside and not getting paid for any deliveries while waiting. I called the restaurant to inquire on status after 1.5hrs and they were very rude on the phone and hung up.

Ordered food first time today for takeout and it was amazing. The service was extremely fast, the food is fresh and delicious. This is a Korean shop. You can feel people work hard and give a damn about quality (I lived in South Korea for 6 years and know what I am talking about). Thank you for awesome dinner, team Kibo! We will be back! Ordered $135 worth of food and not a single packet of soy sauce was given. How can someone eat sushi without soy sauce? Also Sashimi did not taste fresh. Kibo at Annex and avenue are far better than this location in terms of taste, quality and quantity.

First time and already disappointed with a quality, I understand these days prices are high but if I order sushi with salmon I expect actually feeling or seeing that salmon.these sushi are large but a half of the feeling is cucumber! Honestly I ordered sushi in different countries but never have I ever seen such an obvious scam.just say these sushi are mainly with cucumber

I order from this store today and asked them to get extra ginger and soya sauce on the side but they just ignore my request and do not give me even enough soya sauce and ginger for my order witch was 4 sushi roll. How ever they recently increased they prices without keeping their quality in the same level. I was so hungry and I get really disappointed when I see they don't put enough ginger and soya sauce and I can't eat my order without ginger and soya sauce.
I never order again from this kibo store

They keep increasing cash prices on prepackaged to-go meals while simultaneously decreasing portion sizes. Go elsewhere if you're hungry!

Good place for what you pay. The food is very good. The Sherbourne area is quite shady so that doesn't help location wise. The restaurant is in a small and shady shopping center that doesn't look great. Their dining area is not great looking, boxes in the area, cheap decorations, looks unclean, no toilets in the venue. You smell like food inside. I think it's better that you takeout. With few hundred dollars they can make the fining area much nicer to be honest.

Amazing quality sushi and delicious roll options. I love this particular KIBO location and go out of my way to order from here.

I wish I took a photo. We ordered the Sushi & Sashimi platter - the presentation was beautiful, the variety of fish was premium with Maguro, Hamachi, Tai etc. The nigiri was presented over sushi rice and put together with good craftsmanship; most places the rice is following apart. They do take longer to.prepare your food, some music would help the ambiance, but they get the important things right: good food and good service at a great value.

The have some offers so I went in and I ask if they can make me 4 new orders without wasabi and ginger because I don’t like it the answer was that they have already 2 of those at the fridge (with wasabi and ginger) so they can make me only two new. This is not how you do business

Obnoxious and unwelcoming waitress. This is a walk-through layout restaurant connecting the street entrance with the mall's. It's my first time visiting this place and I entered from the street entrance. There was no one at the door so I walked to the center where the waitress was standing. I said "Hi" to her but she replied, "Excuse me, you shouldn't just walk in like that. " She asked me what I need and I told her I am looking to buy the cash-and-carry sushi. She gave me that doubtful reply, "Ok. " then went to pull out a chair blocking the middle section where I walked into but the chair wasn't there before. She came back and said, pointing her finger at the fridge located by the mall entrance, "Now you can go to the fridge over there. " I said, "Never mind. You should have somebody standing at the front. ", shook my head and walked out.

Great Sushi for the price. Staff is always courteous, and the food is always great. I'm a big fan of their Aburi Sushi.

The service was extremely bad, the restaurant was still open (40 min to close) and the lady said that they will close soon and she did not want to take my order also the guy at the kitchen did not want to cook more either, she was so mean, no even a chance to get a take out order, honestly i will not recommend this place, super bad costumer service, what a lazy people.

Took out a small sashimi platter and aburi rolls. I highly recommend Aburi (torched) sushi. Smoky flavour on the rice well combined with special sauce.

This restaurant advertises that it’s chicken karage is white meat - it is NOT white meat. It is impossible to contact this location over the phone to deal with refunds and corrections. HIGE waste of time and money tonight.

“Seafood udon” literally came with two boiled mussels and a broccoli. Would rather eat a $2 instant noodle than this joke.

Very delicious veggie options in Yorkville. A separate vegan menu would be great! But for now the vegetarian options are fine. Good portions and fresh ingredients. No strange fishy aromas which can often seep into the veggie sushi at the majority of sushi places. Highly recommend!

No language problem ordering.
Picked up as we’re literally across the street.
They just finished packing it while I was there.
The soup was salty but hot.
The sushi pizza, edamame, crab rolls were cold.
They put brown sauce on almost everything and one sashimi was not edible and had skin on it.
The salad was watery.
Can you tell I was disappointed

We ordered take-out on the phone directly with the shop. Howeever, the person taking our order seemed really distracted and we had to repeat our order a couple of times. We were a little concerned but in the end everything was correct. Sushi is well priced, super fresh, delicious, and fair sized portions. They have some nice veggie roll options too if you are not in the mood for sushi. They have a website so if communication on the phone continues to be an issue we may just use their website instead to place our orders.

Not a big fan of the Kibo sushi chain, but I felt compelled to write a good review here because they do sushi so well. This is my go-to for sushi. I've been to many sushi places and even had sushi in Japan. Although, it's not Japan level sushi, it's still excellent and at a reasonable price. I can't say the same for other locations, but this one particular restaurant deserves praise.

I normally order Kibo on Parliament St which is still my preferred location. Sherbourne Kibo has a slight difference in style and execution but otherwise the same menu.

I usually meal prep my lunch, but occasionally if I forgot to bring my lunch bag, then Kibo Sushi saves my day. What I love about Kibo Sushi is that I can order online and pick up asap or at a scheduled time. The website is well layout and easy to navigate. And it's on Uber Eats too. Sometime they have great deal for pick up order. Another thing I like about them is I'm allowed to substitute white rice with brown rice. Their sashime is fresh, bento combo is an awesome deal and donburi is very fulfilling. The restaurant is right across the street from my workplace. It only takes me 5 minutes to pick it up. I know many coworkers in our building also order from Kibo Sushi. It says a lot about its quality.

We ordered Kibo last night and it was extremely good. Very impressed with the freshness and high quality. Can't wait to order from Kibo again!

Amazing sushi rolls. I highly recommend you try one of their sushi platters. They were extremely delicious!

I live close by and have been her several times and loved it each time. We've ordered from this chain on a delivery app and the food came from a different location and it really did not compare to the Sherborne location. The service is quick, the store is clean and the food is delicious. The Maki platter A is consistently good, and the two person boat is great value. Looking forward to eating in the restaurant when things open up again but the takeout is doing a great job in the meantime.

Terrible menu, i ordered a maki platter and none of the maki had salmon, they were all filled with crab and cucumber but we still got charged $60! Horrible

I come here often as I work in the building. The sushi itself is great and their cash and carry is of great value! It’s fresh, great quality and of an affordable price of $5-$10 a box. The people that work here are always very friendly and ready to assist you, no matter if it’s just ‘cash and carry’ or dine in. I’ve only dined in here twice, but both times were exceptional. Excellent quality food and great service. I haven’t gotten a chance to try the other Kibo sushi’s around the city (I think this place is a franchise) but this location has set the bar high. This restaurant is nice and broad, the menu was yummy and the rates were very fair.quick, effective service and very affable waiters. I recommend this place.

Kibo sushi is a key member of the survivors guide for people who live and work around the jarvis and bloor area. It has $5 and $10 cash only sushi rolls during lunch time which is a plus especially for people who work in the area. Are we talking about the best sushi in the world? No. But can this help me get through a day of challenging work? Yes.

I had no idea this place lived under the building I was told of this place by a colleague and wasnt let down. Its quick, it's a fun place, and it offers you exactly the type of simplicity you want when scarfing down lunch between meetings.

I have been here several time usually servers were pretty attentive. But this time was terrible. She let us sit and wait for 15mn at dirty table.

We let her know that we had been waiting for more then 10 minute and table was so dirty. No apology from her. She was like 'oh you guys dont have menu'. Additionally when my food arrived the rice is overcooked n you could smell the burning.

Hope she would have treated customer better.

I wont come back again regardless how good their dishes are!

Service is good, prices are abit higher than other kibo locations but their serving size is also abit larger.fish is fresh.it was my bday and i begged them not to do anything.they served us a complimentary sushi pizza without any fanfare.perfect!

I ordered a platter and they blend their raw fish with fried crisps or give tiny shards of raw fish. No full and whole pieces. I couldn’t even see actual raw fish. Kitchen is run by young Korean kids who watered down my wasabi with water, so it didn’t come as a paste on November 25th at 8: 30 pm. I recommend somewhere else!

Amazing atmosphere, our waitress Jade was more than accommodating. We went there for lunch with a friend who had her birthday, the restaurant treated her with extra special dish at no cost. We will go back there Weekley since the food and the service was beyond amazing.

Big fan of this small Sushi joint close to work. It's tasty and really affordable. Also it's fun to watch the chefs work!

They used to be a great place to get dinner from, but since they’ve gotten new owners the quality of service has disappointed.

Great sushi - ordered this platter for takeout and really enjoyed it. Wish they would spread out the tobiko and tempura bits along the rolls as these are meant to share.

Went out yesterday with my boyfriend to eat sushi, and unfortunately the wait time was about 20 minutes and the sushi did not sit well in my stomach after we ate. We ordered the spicy crunch dynamite roll and takoyaki.

My boyfriend and I went to Eatons after we ate, and after we left the place I had the worse stomach pain I have ever felt. I have a high pain tolerance but this was completely unbearable. I ended up having to self-induce vomit at the Eatons washroom because of how nauseous I was getting.

So disappointed since I’ve come here a couple of times with no problems and had no problems with ingesting sushi or raw foods, but I feel as if the sushi I was served was old and not fresh as it should have been. I definitely wasted my money unfortunately and will not be returning.

Online order review: excellent, totally deserve 5 stars! I've ordered from this place for 5 times now and have been always very satisfied with the consistency in quality and flavour. They take care of every detail and the portions size are great, whether for one or two. The prices might be slightly higher than other places but still affordable and worth it - it's one of the best Japanese food restaurants in Toronto!

I really like Kibo restaurant, but this one was playing some loud music. It's not good for the clients. The food is great, as always.

Rude, unattentive and very brisk atmosphere. A shame, the sushi place that was there before had excellent service and staff. Guess a name really does make the difference.

The service at this place was just dreadful the day we were there. There was only one person on the floor, and her attention was almost entirely devoted to packing up mobile/Uber eats orders that came in (we could tell by the incessant dinging of the Uber eats tablet). Customers that came in after us either left because they were never greeted at the door, or were sat and then promptly ignored. One table of 8 kept going up to the server to ask for things like tea and cutlery and eventually to ask her to take their order. We placed our order in two stages - drinks and apps when she first came to see us, then mains and another round of drinks about 20 minutes later when she finally returned to our table. The food came out in completely random order and more often than not she forgot requests like drinks, water refills etc. It’s too bad, because the food seems pretty decent here. I did speak with the manager after but something tells me that the problem that day started at the top, because all I got was a nodding head and “I’m sorry. ”

No longer Nijo. It is now called Kibo. Still a sushi restaurant but with a more interesting menu and still reasonably priced.

Great place for lunch. Be sure to order the lunch special. Would definitely recommend sushi A or sushi B. The portion may be a bit small though compared to he price.

Good bimbimbap, quite expensive for what you get. Would recommend other korean/ Japanese restaurants?
