The best Korean tofu soup. All meals come with a rice in a hot stone bowl. Make sure you crack your egg in as soon as the soup comes. Scoop out the rice from the stone bowl into the second bowl, then you get the option of letting the remaining rice sit and burn against the hot stone bowl to get crisps to chew at when you finish your meal, or soak it in water to get a stew. 5% discount with cash.

Disappointed.
Foods are cheaply made. It is not qualified to talk about the taste.
Each dish is so cheap on stuff they put. Couple tofu, 3 frozen shell and a frozen shirp is a seafood tofu soup.
A tea spoon of ground beef with rice and a egg on top in hot bowl cost you 20 buds.
We feel we are eating in a poor country which has no meat.
What's more, the side dish not allow to order more unless you willing to pay 2 dallars each. That just cabbage, beansprout and beans.

Came across this place as we were looking for a quick dinner and was so glad we found it! Food was delicious, service was great, and the price was reasonable.

It's tucked away in the alley but still easy to find. It's big enough for bigger families or group of friends as they have booths and tables that can be pushed together.

Our waiter was very polite and was apologizing for the wait on the food but I didn't feel like we had to wait long at all.

My friend and I both got mild spicy for our dish and thought it was just spicy enough for our taste. Would go again and recommend to others!

I grow up with But Chang Dong. From downtown to midtown now to uptown location where not once they disappointed me. Tofu always silky smooth. Soup base quality maintained well over the years. Employees are amazing and promptly address your need quickly. The new location is roomy and relative less busy compare to other locations since it's relative new at the point. Look forward to many more bowls to come.

Update: good as always it's just slow because they cook the rice later when they take the order.
Love the service and food but I found side plates are salty that I didn't enjoy them much as main dish.

I was here with my little boy to grab a quick dinner today. First time for us but we love dol sot bab so we gave it a try. We ordered one dol sot bibimbab i love it it was really good. It took little time to be served though. And my boy had a soon doo boo with dumpblings with white soup with no spicy. I like how you can chose the level of spicy. He liked it alot he ate so much. I will definitely come back too try some other food.
I pass by here but never noticed this restaurant before.

So yummy! Service was great. The refreshment tea is very good, not too sweet. The seafood pancake was so good. We devoured that in minutes. Perfect seafood tofu soup on a cold day. I do prefer shrimp deveined though. Love the purple rice.

Hidden gem for Korean soon tofu. 7 pieces of fried dumpling and a soon tofu is fantastic. Raw small egg on the side for you to break into the soup for optimal freshness. Broth is not too salty and I was comfortable mixing all my rice into the soup. Combination and seafood soon tofu has shrimp in it, where it’s a female shrimp. Dish is overall very thoughtful.

Nice hearty soup on a wintery day. Was a bit disappointed with the seafood soup. The oysters were so tiny, I had to ask if it was missed. The server explained that they chopped up the oysters to give it flavor. Next time I'll order the original instead, it has everything plus beef.

Tofu soup is yummy but unfortunately we both had bad food poisoning when we got home and bothered us the whole night. The hygiene is obviously very concerning.

This is an amazing family run Korean restaurant. It's tucked away in the center alley of this plaza. We have been coming here for years and would say it's probably the best in Richmond Hill for soon tofu and bibimbap. It has a very focused menu and I always order the bibimbap (with no meat) or the vegetable soon tofu. They also have some small items for purchase.

Due to extremely crazyly drunken Chinese female, we could not hear from each other in conversation. However, she was not stopped or reduced her voice & loud laugh by the owner or waitress at all although other tables stared her table and complained several times. No prompt serving, exceptionally uncomfortable eating experience, but full payment bill. Ordering Soju you will be VIP there.

Cash over $30 is 5% off. Ordered take out. They ran out of some side dishes and apologized. I had to ask to get more of the ones they had as a compromise. The pork bone soup was boney and slightly dry.

A small Korean restaurant. The dishes are generally good. Price is good too. Fried Dumpling is crunchy. Pork Cutlet is a bit too dry and we don't like the sauce. Good potion of meat in Bibimbap. Tofu is excellent. We didn't like the side dishes. Staff is super busy when we visited but she is still friendly.

A great place to grab a nice hot lunch or dinner. The food is always steaming hot & delicious. The tofu is the finest.
One should look for it if one is in the area. Wouldn't be disappointed.

Great place north of Toronto to get authentic, bubbling bowl of soon tofu, without needing to drive into the city. The service is friendly and the prices are fair for a filling, flavourful meal. It's frustrating to read others complain about prices going up, when it's still cheaper than a salad at Pickle Barrel. First of all, inflation. Second of all, it's a family-owned restaurant, so they're making their living too. Third of all, if you're the type to seek out Asian restaurants for a "cheap" meal (and be honest because we all know people like that), go to Manchu Wok.

Ordered their food over 10 times，very fresh and delicious, especially love their seafood pancake and Stir-fried pork.

Did dine in. Impressed with the food, excellent, and happy with the service. Workers are friendly and inviting too.

Not sure what the hype is all about. Ordered the pork bone soup and the meat WOULD NOT fall off the bones - meaning the meat was undercooked and to top it off, had an awful pork smell. Kindly asked the chef to exchange it for a tofu soup instead; he seemed confused at first, and ultimately did so. However the tofu soup came out without an egg - revenge? Will not return. Ever. Please save your money and go elsewhere.

One of the best Korean spicy tofu soups I had. I go here regularly for it. Reasonable prices for what you get. Their spicy pork and bulgogi dishes are quite good to. Their pork bone soup is also good, but for me it's too messy for when I go out. But I hear it's quite popular. Whatever you have your sure to enjoy!

This restaurant is very cozy, good portions, good value, and the owner I'm assuming is a very nice lady. She was attentive and very friendly. There was strict adherence to social distancing when I dined in which is good to see. Theres a 5% discount when paying with cash. All in all, I would come again as well as recommend to others.

Nice place to visit during the winter. Good food and service. Just be aware only 4 people per table due to COVID. There were 5 of us and had to sit apart.

The food tasted very bad. The oyster soup was disgusting with soggy seaweed, awful taste and funky smell. Bulgogi was tasteless and dry. Overall very disappointing experience.

One of my family's favorite soon tofu restaurant. We always get the Kimchi soon tofu, combination soon tofu and the bulgogi BBQ for the kids. Everything is tasty, we like that you can adjust the spiciness of the stew, and it's great to support local family owned business

It's a small restaurant in a small square and, serves mainly tofu dishes and some other dishes. Average price for lunch as 10-15 dollars set. Friendly service and very clean place runs by Korean. It's not exciting for me.

This Korean place has been my go to place for many years. I have gone to many places and it is always inconsistent. The good and severs is very good. Always gets a smile. The food always comes out hot. My wife is very picky with Korean food and she always loves coming to this restaurant.

It's OK. The service is pretty good. Right around that neighborhood, there's a lot of Chinese food. So Korean tofu breaks the monotony. Please try it and share your experience.

Your standard Korean joint. The location is a bit hidden if you are not familiar with the area. The stone pot bibimbap was delicious. All in all nothing to complain about.

The food is OK, I don't get the high rating. The menu choices is quite limited mostly with Tofu soup and dumplings. The best fish is the seafood pancake, its done perfectly and thin. The service is very friendly and good us served warm. The decor is a little dated. Maybe I am used to the fake Korean around town and can't use to authenticate Korean food, lol.

This unfortunately has to be the worst experience I’ve had with Korean food. The restaurant itself has great decor and is very inviting. Staff was attentive and pleasant, but I'm sorry to say the food was borderline awful. Compared to other Bulgogi soup dishes I’ve had, mine had about half the beef with twice as much noodles. The vegetables were lifeless, and tasted old, more like the fridge they’re stored in than of anything savoury (anyone who's worked in a kitchen before knows that taste.) That, and the only flavour my fiancées Kimchi dish has was the extra spice we added ourselves. The dish itself was overloaded with tofu, and little other meat (it was supposed to come with beef and pork.) I’ve eaten a fair bit of Korean food so I’m surprised and disappointed more than anything else. Did I come on an off day? I’m not trying to be mean or unfair to them. Their reviews are good, so I’m left a bit confused.

Nice staff and the food was delicious! The menu is fairly small and there are pictures for those of us not so well versed even so it was hard to chose. But to be fair I have many favorites. My only complaint would be that they only refilled my tea once!

My favourite location for this restaurant; ample amount of free parking and good ventilation is always a plus - expect to sweat and sniffle a little with the spicy stews. One star off as I think they've been serving smaller portions in recent years.

Does not seem to be a Buk Chang Dong anymore. But still pretty good. It is a little hidden in the building and you can’t see it from the street.

You can taste the quality in everything. Tea, sauces
, tofu meat and even the washrooms are clean! One of two servers spoke enough English to order comfortably. Owner super friendly and kind.speaks the best English. Coming back for sure with friends. Even my chef brother liked it.
