Such an awesome spot for board games. It's below ground as a lair should be. Great selection and super helpful staff. I got help picking out our next family game for Xmas.

Been in the store twice now, and both times had problems with their pricing sticker says one price but came out higher at the cash register. The second time which was today November 11th 2023 I asked if an it was on sale and the store workers told me they weren't sure but they would check for me they came back and told me no it wasn't and they need the item back, I politely asked if I could purchase it for the stickered price and was told no they won't sell it to me. If it was mis-priced that is unfortunate but I feel though as if they should have honored the price, not happy and will not be back and will never recommend this store to anyone.

Friendly staff, also very patient with my order. They held on to what I ordered for over a month. Thanks

I was visiting from out of town and found Nexus. What an awesome game store! Such a great selection of games, paints, minis and dice. Prices were awesome compared to other game store’s I’ve gone to. Sad that I won’t be able to get back to them for a while.

Great spot! I've missed it since I moved to Toronto. We may have similar stock in one or two stores here, but nothing quite as charming or welcoming as Nexus.

This boardgames, comic, RPG and war game store has a wide selection. Loved that the RPGs that was a wide selection beyond D&D/Pathfinder. The boardgames collection was wide and varied, we easy family games upto complex war games

This place is great. The atmosphere is unapologetically geek culture, the staff are excellent, and they stock everything you'd want and more. Also, they have board game characters painted on their walls, which is rad.

Great selection and stock. Staff are next-level nice. Really appreciated the service. Actually came back here specifically because of the service, and that I'd rather support them with my purchases. Dog friendly too, just make sure they are well-behaved, easily to know things over on shelves.

A pretty hood store for magic. The guy who sits behind the mtg singles is kind of rude but he usually has what you need so if you can ignore that part you can get the cards you want.

Had never been here before up until late last year, but started coming frequently after I moved to Kingston last fall. Its a great place for all of your tabletop/hobby needs. They have tons of stuff for Magic, Warhammer, D&D, other tabletop and rpg games, as well as comics and graphic novels, and boardgames and lots of cool things. Huge well equipped gaming room in the back of the store, perfect for Warhammer and other tabletop combat games, Magic events and D&D sessions. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and I highly recommend you come check the store out if you live in town or are visiting from elsewhere.

Well stocked with everything from miniatures to DND to a dedicated magic counter, they've got it all!

I never ever buy a plastic bag with $1+tax so far. Your guys just charging ($1+tax) to my kid without any notice. Anyway thank you for refund $1 without tax.

Nexus has all your table top needs and more! Got my brother some space marines for his 40k army, friendly and informative staff.

Staff is very friendly and the area is clean and well decorated. Plenty of miniature table top space. Seems to have a decent selection of comics. Unfortunately the prices are not very good, and selection is limited when it comes to board games. It's okay for Kingston since it's the only choice.

Dangerous place to visit on payday if you don't have extremely good impulse control. Literally something for everyone across multiple fandoms. The employees know if they have something specific and where it is so feel free to ask.

Loads of selection of books and miniatures for D&D, Warhammer/40K, and other games. Terrain pieces, odds and ends, board games, and a helpful staff! I visit every time I'm in town.whether I need anything or not

This is a very useful store in Kingston for Card Collectors! Always has a good stock of card sleeves, top loaders etc. And you'll be pleasantly surprised to see some Pokemon, WWE and Magic the Gathering packs available for sale at the front cash when checking out! (I'm sure available pack inventory varies). If you're a Magic The Gathering player you'll be extremely satisfied in this store. Also the largest play area I've seen available in the city. And rows of shelves stocked with various games and contructable sets.

I absolutely love coming here, the staff are super friendly and helpful. They have a very good selection of products that are all priced very fairly. Even with supply shortages, they still manage to have a lot of hard to find products that have an inflated price everywhere else.

A great place to visit, a plethora of games and gaming supplies. If they dont have it in stock, they can probably get it, fast and at a reasonable price.

Good Selection of Warhammer, D&D. Magic content and other RPG games, comics and a fair selection of board games. That said I have taken my business to a competitor for the last few years due to an incident regarding their 0 tolerance around certain topics. I was wrongfully accused of something serious and a patron took advantage of their policy to get me banned from the store.the police were involved by said patron but it backfired on them and after an investigation the CKPD contacted the store to admonish me of any wrong doing. Instead of an apology, compensation for expenses amassed from going to a new location for tabletop games and having my store ban lifted I was given a 6 month ban instead of it being indefinite. (the store decided to back pedal and uphold the ban but reduce it to 6 months based on unproven accusations that when asked about the owner evaded answering. The have a policy to make the store welcoming to everyone but thats just a double standard really. Still waiting for that apology Michael

Hidden gem! This store is very spacious and basements way larger than I expected. They various host card tournaments in the far back, and have tons of collectables from comics to Warhammer figurines/paints.

Visit this store if you are in Kingston. I NEED to spend more time here. Good selection and friendly staff!

Probably my favourite store anywhere from Ottawa to Toronto. Great board game selections, and tons of fantastic paints and tools for mini crafting and hobby work.

A good supply of board games.war hammer and pokemon cards plus many more.a few times iv been their they have been cold towards my Child but nothing outrageous.
Oh they also have comics if your into that

My wife and I visited Gaming Nexus while on a get-away to Kingston. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We had a delightful conversation.

I talked about my love of Spider-Man and how I've had difficulty finding good Peter Parker Spider-Man stories of late. He suggested Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man. Its excellent. Well-written and fun. It's just want I needed in what is a difficult time (I'm writing in Aug of 2020. So.you get me!)

I joked to my wife that we should move to Kingston just so I can game there in the future, that's how pleasant my experience was.

The staff are super friendly.they know thier stuff and they have been part of the kingston community for at least 20 years that I can think of

I've been going here ever since a year before they moved into this location about a decade ago. The staff are super friendly and helpful, the games and tournaments that are hosted are well organized, and there are often daily casual games that are great for pickup games. It is worth noting that the play area is absolutely MASSIVE.

Products include books for roleplay games (including a selection of older editions, too!), tabletop games like Warhammer, board games, card games, dice, and other similar products. In terms of product selection it is similar though very different from nearby Minotaur. It is good to check both stores if you can't find what you're looking for in one of them.

Only downside is that due to the building's design, there is no way to retrofit any kind of physical accommodations to the entranceway; if you have physical difficulties, I highly recommend you called the store in advance and work out a solution if it is possible to do so.

On the flip side, the building's design makes the expansive space surprisingly private and quiet in comparison to any similar-sized location in the downtown core. Even during the late hours at the store, noise levels shouldn't disturb the public even during an exciting tournament.

I will add for the sake of COVID-19 that all the staff wear masks even before it was made mandatory in Kingston, and take health and safety very seriously. Tournaments and the play area have been closed for the time being due to the pandemic. You may also call ahead if you want to pick up something from the store and minimize time in it.

Nexus' shop is in the sub-level of the building, at the bottom of a set of stairs (I don't know if they have an accessible entrance or not). There they have a wide selection of board, collectible card, and RPG games, as well as accessories. There are tables in the back for social gaming (this area may be closed at this time, due to COVID). The staff knows their product line, and has always been pleasant and welcoming to my family and me. Highly recommended!

Excellent and knowledgeable staff, always an amazing selection of games, game gear, and comics. My only stop for Magic Cards and Roleplaying books.

Super cool store, lots of different stuff in here. Haven't went in to play magic or DnD yet but they have a super cool set up for it.

The comic guy Adam is the most knowledgeable person when it comes to anything related to the comic industry. This place has great selection for comics and games.

This place is a Kingston staple, Ive been going since the day i moved here 18 years ago. The owner is friendly and knows pretty much everything about, well pretty much everything, but specifically board and/or tabletop games, hobbies, comics, sci-fi, adventure, role-play, ect.you get the idea. Constant events and game nights for anyone who dares to rattle the dice, make this place real special. Enticing just about anyone to come in and make friends. The comic book section is the best youre going to find, hands down, no competition for at least 150kms. Even if they dont have it, expect it within the week if youre looking for it! I only have great things to say about this place. I hope this was enough to lure you in for even just a peek, I'm sure you'll be back before you know it.

Wonderful, helpful staff. Great selection of all sorts of nerdy stuff; comics, board games, tabletop roleplays, trading card games, etc.

They have the best prices in town and they're always willing to order something in special for you if they don't have it in stock. The small group of dedicated staff have (for the most part) been there for years and can help you find what you're looking for, even if you don't know yourself!

I am extremely loyal to Nexus and I hope this wonderful store stays in Kingston forever.

Fantastic store. Nicely layed out, great selection, and friendly staff that genuinely care about supporting the gaming community. The gaming area is one of the best I've seen. Just wish it was in Ottawa instead of Kingston so I could get there more often!

We visited for free comic book day this weekend. We've been here before. Its a large store, lots of selection, huge game section. Games are played at the back half of the store. They had a real live author in store which was neat for the kids to talk with.

Really great tabletop gaming store! Books, minis, maps, dice, comics, figurines, paint and supplies. Was there for a while and didn't see everything. Also a gaming area in the back! Seems there website gives a list of game days as well. Cheers on them for 20yrs in the business this year! Wish my gaming stores back home were half as good as this one. Staff was super helpful and friendly as well!

You can't help but love this place. A huge selection of comics graphic novels and games. Just check them out.

Have few thing say about Nexus. The store is in a great spot the lay out great. Great location has a large space and evenly split between the actual store and a area for table top player and like to hangout and play there game's in a a safe area. Staff is also great for the most part. Had few problems nothing that ruin a "shopper" experiences.

One example I have with this. Is a group of us were hanging out there think it was like 4th or 5th time going and I think we were at a table use and I left me bags because I had take a call real quick and one the staff just moved my bags didn't really ask or tell use we had move kind just did it to follow with this they didn't really move them in the most gentle of ways either. Which normal wouldn't be to bad but I had my laptop in that bag and it wasn't like a backpack or anything like that it was a laptop bag.

Other then this and few other experiences like these which are more nitpicky things. The Staff still really nice and are very helpful.

Also I find it more Warhammer based for the People who want do Table Top gaming and need spot hang out. Also it can be really loud at time (this more a warning for those who do plan hang out)

There is a big selection of role-playing games to Like D&D Pathfinder Etc.
But I noticed there isn't really a big role-playing community there. For example I don't see anything for D&D's Adventurers League or Other role-playing games official groups. There a learn to play which I think only does D&D 5e and I think it like once a month or every other month not 100% on that.
DISCLAIMER I'm more talking about the community there the actual store part has a lot of role-playing stuff.

I'm not overly nerdy and crazy for some of the stuff they have, but they do have a large selection of baord games, and a real nice magic section. In the back they have lots of space for you to play games as well. There are lots of miniatures to choose from as well if you are into that kind of stuff.

They have a massive selection of games, figures, cards and anything else your inner nerd/gamer could possibly want.

My cards were valued at 430. The cards I wanted were valued at 475. I didn't have enough money to pay the difference and wanted to do transaction all at once so I said no thank you I will do it when I can. For expressing this opinion the magic guy "John" scoffed loudly and sarcastically before saying "that doesn't make any sense". He looked at his friends standing behind me for some sort of approval regarding his behavior. I don't think making fun of you customers is the way to go. Got a refund for the event I had signed up for because it thankfully hadn't started yet and left.

Edit: Came back weeks later. The experience was significantly better. Glad to do business here now!

Mike and the crew have created a fantastic dungeon of delights in Downtown Kingston! If you're looking for a place to play your favorite games including MTG and Warhammer, there's no better place in the downtown core!
