Kingston West Veterinary Hospital

I wrote the review below 3 years ago and two women at Kingston West Vet calmed my concerns. (Lyndsay and Morgan) This Vet Office had handled my pups more than a few times and their handling of "all" concerns as expected. I was in Nursing in the early 90's. I know that things go wrong when least expected. Well we came upon this again on Friday and trying to be calm rushed our 1 year old pup to their expertise in need of help.
They were kind, compassionate and caring and listened in 2022 with Daisy.
Look.words can not do enough to express what these people do, the knowledge, the equipment the back-up. Overly glad and reassured rather quickly and we started to relax.
The staff here are the best. My little girl happy, healthy and chasing our other pup. Things could have gone bad. Many Thanks

A reviewer said they handled her aggressive dog glowingly so I give it a whirl plus gave the staff the going over (my apologies) before a very nervous visit.
I get two young cheerful ladies to help me without naming and they know who I am talking about.
We muzzle my dog! Yep my aggressive 33 pound (she's going on a diet) dog that I love to pieces with a muzzle at "my" request to protect them first. (we had another establishment insist our loving cocker spaniel was aggressive which set us back immensely as it hurt)
Long story short she brings me back my dog thru the front door, not yapping, walking and.wait for it. NO MUZZLE!
Totally professional, loving and they work with you.
I gave them the green light and they thoroughly looked over my best bud in the whole world. The Dr laughed when I said the house would go first but do whatever with my pup.
Ladies! You made my day and you'll see my other dog shortly. I trust you which is the best compliment I have.

All staff were very patient and kind with my very nervous kitty, and they were very ready to explain things. It made both of our experience with them so much easier.

Always professional, always kind and gentle. We had to have one of our dogs put to sleep as old age and health problems got the best of him. They were very supportive of our decision and didn't make me feel for a sec that I was a bad dog owner. I can't say enough good things about Kingston West Veterinary Hospital.

Vey kind and knowledgeable. We have been dealing with them for some time now. They took great care with our Emmie. They were able to get her in for her mouth surgery fairly quickly. They did a great job, Emmie was back to herself within a couple days.

Lovely staff who are always so gentle and caring with our pets. We always feel they take time examining our pets and take the time to thoroughly explain things. We never feel pressured into certain treatments, tests or procedures and they always provide all available options so we can make the best choice for our pets. Staff always make sure they follow up after a visit. So far we really like this place. Very much recommend

Great veterinary hospital, we have been taking our dog there for about two years now. Friendly service and always helpful with answering questions. We will continue to go here with Ollie.

I wasn't received until well after my appointment time but the service I received was excellent. Everyone really seemed to care about my dog and the vet was happy to answer my many questions. Definitely above and beyond.

Pretty decent vet. Hard to find a Great one, but theyre pretty good. They're actually available, so that's a big plus!

I have been taking my dogs to this clinic for over 3.5years. I like and recommend the clinic, staff and veterinarians overall, I have never had an issue with them and they have always been friendly.

The reason I do not give 5 stars is because of the reduction of their working hours starting from November 2022. This will be a hard change for us as my husband and I work during their new business hours and have no family here to help. I understand that there is the emergency clinic, but we would like to see our dog's regular vets instead of taking her to different vets all the time. This may just be an inconvenience for me, but should be something to consider if you are looking for a new vet.

My dog Miley uses Kingston West and we would go no where else. They treat my dog and myself like family. I have never waited to be seen, booked in immediately when there is a concern and the time is taken to explain care and prevention when needed. Thank you again for once AGAIN helping this anxious dog mom feel better when my baby was not feeling herself.

The team at Kingston West Vet is absolutely incredibly. They are invested in my pets' care and recognize them when we come in. They answer questions, they follow up, and they do it all with a smile. I appreciate the thorough explanations as things happen to my pets, and I never feel pressured to have a service/procedure done that isn't necessary. I also appreciate that I can be given the option to find more cost effective alternatives without guilt.
Of all the vets I've used over the years, this is by far the best team I've ever had!

Always a great experience. Feebee loves going to he Vets, she gets so excited when we pull in to the lot. The Dr.and staff are always so thorough and honest with the answers to my question. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

Always a great experience when I bring my cats in! They always give you a heads up about what to expect in the coming years. They said my cat should get a dental cleaning in a year or two, therefore I had lots of time to prepare. Always very nice and helpful:)

Nothing short of perfect. These people are so kind and loving with our pets and never look to push procedures or products on you for a quick buck.

With all the Covid restrictions I am very satisfied with the procedures followed. Very nice and polite staff.

We bring both of our dogs here and each time we've had to the staff have been very kind and knowledgeable.the vets are great and gentle with our nervous/tricky dogs.prices aren't too bad and they don't really pressure you to do more than what is required.

Brought my kitty here. They were super friendly and helpful in diagnosing all issues. Provided a straight forward action plan with pricing.

Honestly it was perfect. I originally called Pet Smart to ask for a recommendation because there's alot more vets to choose from and when Hanna (from pet smart) advised me to connect the Kingston West Vet. She was happy to inform me that it's a well rounded place. The clinic doesn't take advantage of your feelings when it comes to the price.which I've had terrible experience in the past. So that was very comforting. She explained all staff there seem to love their job more for the animals than for the pay cheque. After all the positive feed back I called the vet office and I talked to a very lovely girl who registered Rosco immediately and I got an appointment within 24 hours of calling. Morgan greeted Rosco and I and she seemed very nice and energetic. She seemed to have gained Rosco's trust instantly.which is hard to do with that little guy. Julie was very good at explaining the problem found and she explained how it can be treated. She was so genuine and answered all my questions and concerns. I however feel for Morgan when she explained Rosco wasn't on his best behavior and a muzzle needed to be used. He's not the easiest pupper-doodle when he's not feeling good. Other than that I could ask for anything more perfect for my first time being at this vet clinic. Without a doubt this will be Rosco's forever vet. Thank you to everyone.

I have just recently started taking my animal (s) here and the staff are amazing, the prices are super great and the care provided is outstanding. My pets are going to spoiled for a long time to come.

I have been attending Kingston West Vet Clinic for a couple of months now. The staff along with Drs. Clarke & Edwards have been amazing with my 2 cats. Professional, courteous, caring, kind and gracious. I think the most important aspect for me is the interaction and dialogue with the members of the clinic. Both Dr Clarke & Dr Edwards took a great deal of time assessing the health of my animals and then spoke with me in great detail about their conclusions. Those conversations were incredibly easy, clear and informative. Never at any time did I feel rushed or dismissed. The day after our visit, the Drs emailed me with test results, detailed explanations and next steps. They invited me to maintain a dialogue until I was comfortable that all issues were resolved. A couple of days later, I was contacted by a Vet technician inquiring about my pet's condition and offered to answer any further questions that I might have. This is second to none customer service as far as I'm concerned - a definite 5 star +. I am very happy with my decision to attend KWVH and highly recommend that you give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

The staff are so friendly and they care about the overall quality of life for your pet more than any other animal hospital I’ve been to. Kingston West never tries to make you spend more on things/ treatments that your pet does not need; which is awesome since I’m a student right now.

Only clinic I will go to for my pet's needs! The Kingston West Veterinary Hospital's staff were very friendly, reassuring and empathetic. The vet, herself, explained the whole consultation, diagnosis and medication directions. From the atmosphere to the prices the whole experience is worth 5 stars. (They were also able to trim my dog's nails, obvious bonus!)

My dog is 12. On Friday I saw a lump between his eyes that turned out to be a tic. Called this clinic in desperation and they removed it on Saturday, no charge. I was so grateful, had to post this review. So nice of them.

Great place, with very knowledgeable staff. Glad to see they are running using recommended COVID-19 guidelines as well, while keeping our pets safe!

We are so grateful to the team at Kingston West Veterinary Hospital. They always make our dog’s visit safe and comfortable for him. He was a bit of a sissy when it comes to getting his nails trimmed and now after a few visits he’s excited to go. The doctors never sell us on treatments or procedures, they provide us with detailed information to help us make our own decisions about Huck’s care. We are confident that they care for our pets and our love for them.

Dr Courtney is AMAZING! She’s been so good with my baby boy Fibel and SAVED his life! Fibel my 3 year old cat has kidney stones and it was heartbreaking to hear as he is very young! If it weren’t for them he wouldn’t be here today and I’m so grateful! They even said he was loving his belly rubs and head scratches LOL They make you feel so comfortable at this vets office! 10/10 always would recommend!

I can't say enough about the AMAZING staff here. We brought our much loved family pup, Rooney in to be checked as he had growths on his throat. We were seen by Dr. Lyndsay Clarke and Virgil. They were so kind and caring, and were quick to get back to us with his results. We found out that he had lymphoma, and we were provided with the options that were available in a loving and caring manner. We tried to treat it, but unfortunately Rooney deteriorated quickly. Within two weeks we had to make the heart wrenching decision to put him down. We did not know what to expect as this all happened during Covid-19. When we took Rooney to the hospital, we were met by Dr. Lisa Vander Wilp and Virgil. From the very first contact they were both so kind and caring, and we felt like they cared for him just as we did. With the restrictions around Covid we had to wait outside while they prepared him for the procedure, but Dr. Vander Wilp took him in her arms and kissed the top of his head as she walked inside with him, this brought us us such comfort. Once we were able to go in, they had the room ready with a comfy blanket and he came in wagging his tale, as he always did, and went right to the blanket to lay down. During the entire process, Dr. Vander Wilp was so kind, and loving towards Rooney and our family that we felt at peace with what was happening. Never did we feel like we were just another patient, but we felt as though she truly felt our pain and heartbreak. THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts! Afterwards, we received the loveliest card signed by all the staff along with Rooney's paw prints, this was so thoughtful. This experience is never an easy one, as we adored our Rooney, but the staff was OUTSTANDING. Our family wishes to thank you so very much for everything.

The people at Kingston West are absolutely wonderful to deal with. So kind and professional. Absolutely recommend!

We brought my sons pup in having seizures. They were kind, caring, compassionate & professional dealing with her, as well as my 19 yr old son who was very scared for his pup. End result we had to put her down but they were very kind in explaining everything including how she would go. They allowed us time to be with her until my son was ready and allowed us to stay with her as long as we wanted afterwards. They even lit a candle on the main desk saying "someone is saying goodbye to their loved one" I thought it was very touching. They explained cremation and took good care of Alaska from the moment my son carried her in the door! I will never bring my puppers to any other place. Thank you gals! From the bottom of my heart. RIP Alaska, you are loved!

My dog found a porcupine in the woods on the Easter long weekend, during the covona virus lockdown. I Called the Kingston West clinic, expecting to be told that I would have to go to the Emergency clinic. But they rose to the challenge and were able, within a couple of hours to sedate the hound and extract the quills, even though it was well after hours

I was treated courteously and professionally and am thrilled with KINGSTON West as a result. Thank you

First off let me say that this review is LONG overdue! We had to take our German Shepherd, Vader, to be put to rest after a 7 month ordeal with a Tumorous growth in his left upper paw area. We called the Hospital on December 29,2019 and said it was Emergency, due to Vader deteriorating rapidly the last 3 days of his great life he had with us. The staff stated that they will help us the very next day! So sad to see the tumor grow larger and larger. One word describes this hospital and staff>> AWESOME! Dr. Lyndsay Clarke helped us to get through this. She is such a compassionate person. We would like to thank Virgil and Elke that assisted during this difficult time. The Card that was signed by all your staff was such a nice thought. And Thank You for making a Donation on behalf of Vader. The lasting Paw print that you did from Vader was so heart felt. The Cremation Service that was recommended to take care of Vader is called Pets Above LTD. This company went the Extra mile with a Beautiful Urn and a Chained Name Tag. Also, a Death Cremation Certificate was provided, as well. And, the staff signed a Sympathy Card as well. We would not hesitate to recommend this Veterinary Hospital to anyone. Thank you for your compassionate approach when I had to bring my dog in. The staff is very friendly. I felt that their approach was very upfront and realistic in terms of treatment options and not at all pushy but at the same time very empathetic. This is a wonderful clinic. The veterinarians and all staff are welcoming, great to deal with and make my animals comfortable. We even had one treated in the parking lot at one point, because the stubborn 120 lb.great dane wouldn't go inside! Always have a great experience.

I have gone to Kingston West Veterinary Hospital 2 times now and both have been amazing experiences. My cat has major anxiety and doesn't do well under stressful circumstances. I knew she might be difficult but my cat reacted worse than I expected. The Vet was fast to determine that it was not safe to administer the vaccines safely. They recommended a drug to help calm her down and rescheduled our visit for the next week. The second visit went so smooth, the doctors and nurses were so great and gentile with my little one and really cared about her health and safety! They made me feel very comfortable and I would highly recommend this vet clinic to anyone!
