Food here was great. They have a good selection of Japanese cuisine, focusing on Ramen and it's complementary items like Takoyaki or Karaage (Gyōza as well). While it was great in most regards, the service was a little lacking. My waitress left mid-service without saying a farewell, and didn't seem to inclined on giving a good experience. It may vary to your experience, but you can guarantee the food will be good.
Sido didn’t take my order correctly, I had to wait 10mins as a result. He also took a moment to look out the window to watch customers struggle to prop up the patio umbrella that fell over from the wind but didn’t feel the need to offer any assistance to them, so weird. The food is yummy.
They mixed up thick for thin noodles. Rest everything was at par. Never had trouble finishing the bowl but it sucks that they won’t stamp your loyalty cards unlike Ikusha.
We had an extraordinary experience at this restaurant. We enjoyed the great environment and the menu. The waiters are very welcoming. I’m glad we ultimately managed to visit this place.
When ordering ramen, you usually never know what you're going to get. I've had many horror stories of over-salted ramen or grease-oil disasters. Ramen that looks and smells very questionable. Kinton Ramen puts all of these other ramen shops to shame, and quite frankly I refuse to trust any other ramen shop. Their ramen is absolutely delicious, with just the right amount of salt, packed with umami flavors and very fresh. Absolutely perfect ramen. I love their cheesecakes as well. Side dishes are delicious too, but the portions are a bit small for the price. I always order here whenever I'm craving ramen!
I know, it's only Ramen, but if you're going to do it, why not do it really, really well! Service was attentive, and the food was way better than I'd anticipated. I'll be back for sure
4/5. Overall I would return to this place, partly because there are few alternatives of equivalent quality and convenience.
Ordered their summer special, Roast Beef Ramen.
The biggest fear is steak that isn't cooked well - they managed a pass on this, so I don't think it's consistent. It was very chewy, but it did have great flavour when combined with the ramen sauce.
The ramen was perfect for a summer dish, with one of the best dry sauces I've had. It tasted like a dashi-soy base, with a nice sweet tang similar to a lighter teriyaki glaze. The soft egg was perfect in coating the noodles for a solid slurp. It was a solid portion of both meat and ramen.
The issue with Kinton is that it can charge enormous amounts for Ramen, with this dish ending up at over $20 post tax/tip. For those who have been to Japan you will not find value here. June 2019
Service and environment are good. Just disppointed by food.shouyo soup and thick noodle are not good and size is small.doesn't match with its price.a bit pricey.
The food is delicious and well portioned. The broth is so good I want to travel back in time and drink it again. Itd probably be easier to just fly to Toronto again but time travel seems more fun. Nonetheless this is a great spot for ramen. Also the Mens washroom is definitely the most tranquil washroom I have ever been in. I didnt want to leave. Like a room that existed outside of time. Use the washroom here trust me.
One of the best ramen spots! My server Jess was the best - she was very friendly, personable and hospitable. She went out of her way to make sure that I was enjoying my meal and my stay since I was alone at the restaurant. I am definitely going to be coming back!
Delicious ramen! The takoyaki has real octopus. The gyoza in sweet chilli was also tasty. Very friendly and attentive staff! The washrooms are cool, they even have a mouthwash station for fresh breath after devouring a spicy garlic ramen!
You cant really go wrong with this place the selection is not bad and the noodles it self is very fresh and even if your more adventurous they always have seasonal specials like what i had today for their summer special which was the cold tsukmen.
This place is pretty legit. The broth is very rich and delicious. Amazing job on getting that just right as it is not overly salty or spicy or sweet, a great balance. You can taste freshness in their noodles. Thick or thin, you won't regret either choice. I recommend the pork original with a side of spicy fried chicken. Wish I could do half Stars because I would give them 4.5 of 5. Only complaint is that the portion to price is a bit high compared to other ramen stops.
I got take away and I Loved it! Really tasty. I gave 4 stars since I think it's too pricey to what you get. If I didn't add the corn ($1) I would literally get noodles, some green onion pieces and 2 slice of pork. Will definitely order here again. Don't forget to add extras if you about the veggies or more meat.
They bought me the wrong order then refused to give me the right one! I couldn't belive it. I ended up paying for it and walking out. Ramen kinton at Kenney commons way better service and quality
Really amazing food, especially the egg which you can add on to your ramen. And also the pork dumplings and spicy fried chicken. You can basically order anything and you won't be disappointed.
First time here actually, my friend ordered pork shoyu and seasoned egg and for myself I tried the pork miso. Both are with thin noodles. Nice food, good service.
Kinton was one of the pioneering ramen joints in Toronto and continues to consistently serve up decent ramen, but I regret to say that it now pales in comparison to the many competitors peppering the city. Just a little too salty, greasy, or plain uninspired when held up against other choices, especially since it's priced the same as much better places.
Very delicious ramen. But be warned the spicy pork garlic ramen is really spicy. It had a ton of chili flakes in it. The service was fast and efficient- definitely a great place to go.
