KINTON RAMEN

Came around 8.30pm on a Wednesday. No need to wait for seats. The waiter was very friendly:)

Staff are welcoming and friendly. Food was delicious!: D Ryan warned me of the spiciness of the special Gekikara Chili Ramen too, which I appreciate!

The spicy ramen helps to cold weather, is so delicious. The service depends on the employee who serves you. This is not unified, in some cases they given bad treatment and in others it was very good.

Very good ramen, great promotions in combos and the staff is extremely friendly. If you are in the area and looking for some comfort food now in the winter you should take a shot

Friendly service and yummy ramen. I had the beef ramen with bamboo shoot. The broth was perfect.not salty at all. Would definitely come again. The decor at this location is nice too.

Shout out to Zach who was very accommodating of our requests. Love the vibe of this place and the service! We went in during the lunch rush but the food was served fast. I ordered a veggie shoyu. Everything was great!

It did not taste the same anymore. This used to be my go-to place when I want to have ramen and hang out with my friends. But the quality has gone down. The broth tastes bland, it lost its richness in flavor. I usually go for the original pork, but the pork now was not done properly, just lightly torched without any marinate. The things that still remain unchanged are maybe the egg and the noodles itself.

I have been this place perhaps 100 times. Food is great. But better than that, the staff! ️ Taylan is my favourite guy

Ordered pork spicy garlic, hot kara-age (2p) and a drink. Ramen is good enough, and kara-age are well cooked. 30 dollar bill for all that seems a bit steep though.

Tonkotsu ramen with thick noodles and extra noodles, the soup was nice and hot, overall great for lunch, personally I like the egg to be a little more raw. Otherwise no other complaints

Visited this location recently to try the special Beef Spicy Garlic Ramen. The portion size was decent and the soup was moderately spicy with a noticeable beef taste. The drawback is for the price paid, it would have been good to have a bit more such as a seasoned egg to go along or an additional piece of beef as toppings.

Service for early dinner is fairly quick and staff were helpful.

Overall, Kinton is generally a decent option for ramen as one of the popular names in the city but will also depend on personal preference given the number of other unique ramen places.

The broth was very rich and delicious. I was reminded of the ramen I had in Japan. The noodles were thick, chewy and cook into perfection. It could have been a 5/5 star if only they served the correct order of my husband. He ordered the spicy pork ramen with egg, but was given the beef. The takoyaki was just okay that I wouldn’t recommend it. Overall, a highly recommended and reasonably priced authentic ramen.

Kinton is usually my go to standard ramen in Toronto. This particular location however, not the same like others. I get that it was kinda busy (probably 75% capacity), but man, we were ready to order, but was ignored for almost 20 minutes.

First, the server almost served us with the wrong order. Then when the food came, it taste very meh. The meat was the worst as it was chewy and bland.

I go to Kinton for years (usually the Christie location) and they always taste good and consistent, just not this location.

The food was delicious! Service needs improvement. As many said, we had to wait for a while until we finally asked for our bill. Management should be providing the staff with some training.

I order the original pork was my first time having ramen got some bamboo shoots cuz i have them from a can and thought real restaurant shoots should be better than canned. They were mushy and rotten ruined the entire dish. The egg was the only redeeming factor of the dish. The broth was bland and tasteless. The pork was small and bland. The waiter never came back to our table until we had to ask for the bill. Terrible food and service. The chairs are just flat wood no actual chair. I dont think I'd go back even if I had a free meal. Theres only 1 menu per table so if you're with a group good luck ordering quickly. Never returning ruined my day.

I would normally give a 5 star review, especially when the food was delicious and the texture and temperature added to the positive experience.

Where I decided to dock points was the server experience. Don’t get me wrong— the employees were friendly and pleasant to speak to.my only constructive criticism was that we were forgotten and when we made hints that we wanted to leave (placing the stacked empty bowls at the edge of the table), no one came. We did eventually flag down a server to bring us our bill. Just check in when it looks like someone finished their food, that’s all.

All in all, great experience!

Really good food, but I would never come back because of the customer service experience. We walked in and ordered take out for 2 and then, for a change of plans, asked if we could dine in. We were told that we can not dine in. Our food took 20 minutes or more while other guests arriving later than us were attended to faster. Horrible servers- customer service

This used to be one of my go-to places for Ramen. Sadly, it won't be the case anymore.
Quality has degraded significantly in the last few months: chicken is quite bland and can sometimes have a bit of an aftertaste. The broth smelled a bit off - similar to the aftertaste of the chicken, and yeah: you can tell that the ingredients have been pre-cooked separately and have been just put together right before serving.
Not only that, the portion has gone smaller - chicken pieces are smaller than they used to be, and also tougher too. Noodles is clumped up together.
A friend also made an order of Gyoza and had to get it changed because when he bit into one of them, it was cold in the inside.

The price is good, the food is really tasty and the service is quick and amazingly accommodating. Will definitely come back.

Had the spicy veg miso with thick noodles and it was relatively tasty. A bit on the pricier side and would have liked more vegetables in the ramen.

Not the best Kinton ramen place I've had for lunch.the meal for 2 was ok but the noodles weren't as good as they typically were. Everything else was fine though. Pretty disappointing because I was looking forward to a ramen place near my office.

For all the hype it gets, I was disappointed. Had the regular pork ramen and I had no interest in finishing the bowl. The broth wasn't very tasty and it didn't have the nice rich texture some other restaurants have. The pork was fatty and had no taste. Best part was the mango cheesecake.

Looks can be deceiving. Appearance-wise the food looked delicious. Upon tasting the soup, it really wasn’t bad. Then had a bite of the chicken and it was cold and dry. Others who got the chicken dish also mentioned their chicken was cold so they had to bury the chicken beneath the noodles to heat it up… it’s obvious they pre-cook the chicken and simply reheat it (or try to). I raised my concern to staff and they gave me a plate with fresh chicken- which was colder than the ones in my soup. I decided it wasn’t worth my effort to ask again and just ate. Noodles were also clumped together which indicates they also pre-cooked the noodles and left them for a bit before our orders went in. Safe to say I won’t be going back. 2 stars because staff were kind.

With my spouse we decided to go there for dinner for Valentine's day and I had the worst experience. We arrived here in Toronto just 3 weeks ago, and we told him that we are residents but we haven't done the covid passport yet (we showed our complete vaccine from Brazil) and they haven't allowed us to get in with the excuse that only "tourists" can use the international proof of vaccination. I will never come back to this place again.

The ramen here absolutely slaps. What I really like about Kinton is that you'll always get the same delicious bowl every single time. Their ramen options are standard and traditional with options to customize. However if I had to say, I think what makes their ramen better than other spots is that they don't have an overwhelming list of options and choices which means that they can focus a lot of quality on the options they do have which is more than enough to satisfy different palettes.

I've tried the pork miso, the spicy garlic and their gyoza and karaage. Also whenever I order a Sapporo from here the glass is nice and frosty and it just tastes good

I had the spicy pork garlic ramen and it was delicious. Favourite broth I've had. Food was ready very quickly!

Amazing place with one of the best ramen in Toronto. In COVID times, outdoor dining is there if provincial rules allows.

I loved the location and diversity in the menu. I'm a vegetarian and I found veg original really nice.

Update: Have been regular here with amazing veg options. Loved Veg Miso and Shoyu

Used to be good. Not worth it anymore. Prices are the same but portion sizing has reduced significantly in the last year. The pork is less than half the size it used to be. The ramen is also significantly less. Used to be my go-to Ramen place, not anymore. Service is also not great
anymore, wait times are significantly longer, waiters can be rude.

A beautiful restaurant with delicious food. The only downside is that when it gets busy, there’s only one server. The service therefore becomes a bit slower. Other than that, I like it very much. Definitely recommended!

The side dishes and the cheesecake are the only good items on the menu. Ramen was very average. We had to wait at least 45 mins for our orders and mains were served before appetizers. Service is not optimal either. You have to remind them if you asked for anything extra, drinks, or additions.

Kinto Raman was in a walkable distance from downtown Toronto/Union Station.
The staff was absolutely remarkable and tentive during my visit. The special Kinton Ramen offered makes this place affordable to locals and tourist a like on a budget.
Personally, if you're in the area and enjoy ramen it's not a bad place to visit and the food was luscious. Although, the spicy isn't really spicy and the kimchi is a bit too oil with the amount of sesame oil that is added to it upon serving.
Overall, worth the money, time and food.

Not really recommend.
I ordered “ meal for one”, it come with a pop + gyoza + a choice of ramen. Good price just $17.99. But service was not as expected, we kind of wait for a long while to get serviced. I ordered “pork miso” and the ramen broth was watery, the pork was fatty. Feel like I am wasting my calories.

Told us we could eat there so we ordered and sat down. When food was ready they told we couldnt stay to eat so here we are wondering around Toronto with our food in the cold and no where to eat.

Update: they left me a public note to email them. 'put a smile' on my face, blah, blah. So I emailed them to tell them that I eat at all of their Kinka family restos, etc and I even put my phone number in the email and invited them to call me.

I have had no response in two weeks. Perhaps they thought their public note below my review was going to make it look like they actually cared about my experience.

Literally, you can see the piece of pork belly and shoulder cut in half. Have been here and to a bunch of other Kintons and have never seen this before. The portion of pork on their sandwich board outside is what it has been/should be.

This was okay. Not the best ramen and NO wine options though they did serve sake in cute stemless wine glasses which was nice. My sister had too many noodles (is there such a thing?) she got the classic chicken broth with the smaller noodle and didn’t find it flavourful. I got the classic veg with thicker noodle and i enjoyed mine. Service was fine, ambiance was fine. Would try another location in the future.

Pork miso is good, nice and light while still being moderately flavourful, though nothing to write home about. Food also came to us pretty quickly (<10min) for off peak hours. The pork was also pretty plain, missing that smokiness like at other ramen chains/restaurants. Portion was also on the smaller side.

Tried the pork spicy garlic and it was just downright bad. Way too garlicky (couldn't get the garlic taste out of my mouth) and the broth actually tasted watery, like when you drink hot chocolate with those hot chocolate powder packs + hot water instead of milk. Broth just tasted like garlic and spicyness.

Also tried the takoyaki. Good tasting but they put the smallest piece of octopus they could find so I was mostly just eating the dough.

Kinton is definitely the worst ramen chain in toronto at least.

Very clean and convenient place. They provide large portions and for reasonable prices. I loved the menu a lot and the waiters were super attentive and chatty. I recommend this place.

I think any location is good. The broth that they have is so consistent. The quality of food is good. I've tried the one at Montreal and Toronto. I always leave this place satisfied. The portion is perfect. I personally love the thick noodles. It's nice and chewy. The pork is chard well and egg is always perfect. The karaage chicken for me is a must when I visit this place.

Good ramen, but a little expensive for what it is, and they seem completely unable to customize simple things, like getting a different broth with a dish. Same price, they just won't do it. Disappointing. Other locations and ramen brands are able to do it, you should too!

I also noticed preference towards anyone Asian looking. No matter how late after they arrived, they were served before anyone else. That's not great service, but I've noticed it at a lot of Asian food places.
