Recently visited this restaurant and our experience was exceptional. Friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere make it a must-visit for anyone craving Ramen
Delicious + fresh ramen but as a longtime customer, I will say the portions have gotten smaller and the price has increased significantly. Even if you pay for extra, it’s barely more than the regular size. Disappointing as I’ve always loved Kinton, but I’ll be trying out local, non-franchised options moving forward.
Man i dont know what to feel i got the pork original and it was kind of short on flavour everything else was good but i wasnt really impressed with the flavour of the broth.
Edited: The restaurant manager reached out to me immediately after I posted my review, to address my concerns.
I would give this place a 2.5, if I could. The Veggie Miso ramen tasted like it was made with instant ramen broth; it was very salty and had a weird msg'ish flavour going on. Not to mention that it was chock-full of green onions and nothing much of anything else. This ramen dish should be called Green Onion Miso ramen not a veggie ramen. I wouldn't come back for the food, but, the vibe on the patio seemed really chill and relaxed and I really liked the Asian lanterns hanging over the patio. There are far better ramen places in Toronto to choose from.
Totally Awesome ramen and the setup! And I love the way they greet when you’re leaving.
I was here for a quick dinner, and I had asked for suggestion in veggie since I am a vegetarian so I was told to have the veggie spicy garlic ramen which was yummyyyyy. My friend had the pork spicy ramen, and I had requested them for something special since it was my friends birthday, they gave her coke as surprise!
The menu has limited options but I’m sure everything is worth it. The price is also acceptable. The location has good space and it was busy even during the weekday.
The washroom is clean and tidy, and they have good music playing in the washroom
I was blown away. It was so good, my soul lifted in to Valhalla for a split second. I'm okay with heat but their Pork Spicy Garlic was not kidding at all. It was on another level in a good way! Kinton also have other protein like chicken but I think pork was the absolute perfection. The portion was just perfect. The only missing thing was the soft boiled egg but that's not a deal breaker. Totally recommended!
Very good and hearty ramen place. We went around dinner time, which was pretty busy, but we got a seat at the bar right away. It felt kinda squished, but we definitely didn't mind as we were able to be seated right away. It was really cool to eat and see everything being made in front of you. We got the combo for 2, which included 2 original ramens (you have a list to choose from), a plate of gyozas, and 2 drinks (we got ice tea). Overall, very good and tasty both. The only downside I would say is that the portion wasn't that big. I was pretty full after my meal, but my friend was still hungry even after eating a bigger portion of the combo.
The food is delicious.but the experience of eating it could be a bit of a nightmare. Pickup orders take way too long and they NEVER label the soup or the noodles so you gotta mix your own recipe and hope for the best.
The spicy pork broth is incredible. Thick rich broth with a fiery kick, perfect for a winter warmer! I have tried many others and I always regret not going to Kinton. Pure class
I went to this place together with my classmates to enjoy hot ramen soup, as it is cold outside after an evening stroll at the centre island.
The place is nice and clean. They have no patio as the patios outside are for other restaurant (or maybe their sister company).
We ordered set meal for four, which includes a choice of ramen, one Karaage, Age Gyoza and Takoyaki. I got a pork spicy garlic ramen partnered with thin noodle. I really like thin noodle for my ramen and I added some extra pork meat.
The soup base was good, and the dish was served hot and I liked it. My friends also liked what they ordered and even finished their bowls. I normally cannot finish all the noodles and soup.
We got our side dishes and sodas but we were interested ro get the chiki chiki don and some extra nori, so they got it for us. And then, since the chiki chiki don was just a rice topped with chopped chicken breast, we had a portion of it wrapped in nori and eaten as a sushi. It was super good, especially when you dip it in the mayo.
Our evening visit ended through slices of matcha and black sesame cheesecakes. I liked the matcha as it is full flavored. We enjoyed our stay here and we will keep coming back.
Food was great but service was a let down. Despite it being quite quiet it was hard to get the server's attention and it took 30 minutes to get the cheque at the end of the meal (we asked for it, server confirmed she was getting it but then she seemed to have totally forgotten about it).
I dont even know how to express my feelings but I need to share it! We went to the place which has shared patio with Kinka Izakaya. Some of my friends ordered from Kinka when I want to order from Kinton Ramen but the Kinton’s waiter refused to take my order because my friends not ordering from them! It seems they don’t know the meaning of “Shared Patio”!
I tried the summer special (tsukemen & mazemen) and somewhat disappointed.tsukemen was too salty and much flavor was presented.mazemen was too blur and too heavy with pork bely + mayo (pork bely itself was delicious but adding mayo was a bit too much). Service was okay. I will try regular ramen next time.
Ordered for pick up. Everything went well from pick up to food.
Food was well packaged and nothing was leaking. Came in a big bag which was easy to carry and I like that they use paper bags instead of plastic bags. Food was ready for pick up when I arrived and I was attended by a staff within minutes.
I ordered the Three-Course-Meal which gives you a good variety. It includes your choice of ramen (I picked the Pork Miso Ramen), 2 pieces of karaage, 2 pieces of Gyoza and a very small piece of matcha cheesecake (I wish it was bigger). The karaage came with a delicious dipping sauce which is a bit sweet and tangy - absolutely love the sauce and it pairs well with the chicken.
The broth was still steaming hot upon when I got home. The Ramen noodles and toppings were packaged separately from the broth to prevent the noodles from getting soggy. The broth was very creamy which I like but the portion size of the noodles and broth were less than I expected. Wished they were more generous on that. The broth only filled up a bit over half of the container and same with the noodles. The Gyoza and Karaage were deep fried and super crispy and not too oily. The chicken meat inside the Karaage was very tender while the skin was crispy.
Overall, delicious food and would definitely come back for the nice patio!
I got a take out. The food is quite good. You have to eat it right away though or you risk noodles being stuck together. I docked off a star because the crew acted like they were doing me a favor. I was uncomfortable and it didn't make for a pleasant pick up.
Edit: I got another take out another day and they were welcoming. So I changed from 4 to 5 stars.
Ordered the pork classic ramen bowl. It came out without an egg and after a little while I noticed and let one of the servers know it is missing an egg. She brought out an egg while staring at my bowl as if I'm hiding the egg that I claimed was missing. The restaurant was not busy, probably at a quarter capacity filled so it wasn't like the chef wouldn't have remembered making my ramen bowl. No apologies offered.
Server was poor, food quality has definitely degraded since the last time I was here the previous year. I saw patrons asking for the bill and was given the card machine to pay and left the machine on the table and left without any acknowledgement from the staff. Again, this was not during peak hours and the servers were busy chatting and folding napkins by the bar. When I asked for the bill, the same thing happened, bill given along with the machine and I was left to complete the transaction and rip off the receipt for myself and for them and left it on the table. Wish I did not give them my business and went elsewhere. With the increase in ramen options nearby, Kinton will start losing more and more customers to other establishments that care to provide good service.
Ordered through Uber eats and was less than impressed. The broth for the ramen I ordered was less than half full and barely enough to cover the noodles. For $20 I would expect a more significant portion and especially in regards to broth. It’s liquid in a cup and shouldn’t be as stingy as it was. Although tasty this was very disappointing. Won’t order from here again.: (
In our opinion— the best ramen in toronto. Don’t know what they do differently but it’s honestly the best! Really great prices for a huge bowl of soup that is enjoyable all the way through! Only downside is the small space of the restaurant (it was really busy and we sat by the door where it was a little breezy) but overall the vibe is great. Once you get that soup it doesn’t matter where you’re sitting!
We ordered KARAAGE -5/5 great portion and juicy VEGGIE GYOZA - 4/5 not extra ordinary CHICKEN RAMEN - 3/5 seriously guys add some toppings. Just nori and egg? Veggie ramen - 1/5 bland, tasteless broth. Too much wakame/sea weed in a bowl.
No shijimi or chilli oil or any other seasoning on the table. Waitress made a wierd face when asked for chilli oil. Other ramen spots nearby are far better.
I love this place. Their ramen = perfection. I love the broth so much. Plus the atmosphere is amazing. I definitely recommend this place and more specifically this location! Though it is a small space so probably not ideal for huge groups.
It's unfortunate to give one star but my experience was not all that great. Food of course always consistent and good, no complaints there. What really bothered me is that there was fluff/hair in my water, so I asked for another received a new glass of water that was pre poured sitting on the take away table which also had hair/fluff. I did drink of course. Ice cream came and once again, hair! I spent $23 to have half my meal combo with hair. I brought it up and didn't go very far.
Outstanding broth (the original), excellent noodles and side dishes. Atmosphere is clean, modern. Wasn't busy today, but YMMV. Price is average to above average, would recommend!
I've been coming to this location since they opened and all I can say is that the food and service have gone downhill since the original employees left. I understand that this place gets busy and it can be hard for the staff to keep up but having my order messed up almost all the time is frustrating.
Noodles are almost always undercooked as they always come clumped together, instead of flowing like proper noodles. The meat as well is lacklustre as it is either undercooked or overcooked, and in recent orders, have tasted funky and given me stomach issues. Recently, I ordered the pork spicy garlic with chicken breast that would substitute the pork. I saw the chef take the pork out with his hands and then put it into someone elses order. As someone who eats both pork and chicken, I found it appalling because what if they acted out these mistakes for others who have dietary restrictions?
I keep coming to this place because of my memories associated with it from its opening, but I notice now that the current employees don't carry the same energy, respect, and consistency the original staff once did.
I've given this location plenty of opportunities to see if they'd improve because maybe they were having an off night, but when every night I visit is an off night, it's inexcusable.
I'm sad to say that this will be my last time coming to this location and possibly the others.
Great value I thought for the price. I had the curry special with thick sliced beef and some kimchi. I was lost pleasantly impressedv by the quality of the kimchi.
Their ton ton Don was so sweet! Did not like that at all. Ramen was alright, nothing too special. My recommendation for the seaweed is to have it on the side (so the steam doesn't make it soggy).
The chicken jalapeno ramen was spicy but very good. You should definately try the chicken as it is not served at a many ramen places. The Pork miso ramen was terrific as well. As well the thick noodles were very Al dente which was great. Noodles go great with the soup and doesn't get soggy.
The space was super swanky with the glass windows and the minimalist seating, we came in feeling good about this clean space. It's nice for a change compared to other ramen joints. We were greeted by friendly staff- loved how there were a lot of them too. The service was quick and the servers were well-trained for sure as they definitely know their products. We ordered pork shoyu and spicy garlic pork ramen, takoyaki, and kimchi which cost us around $35 or so. Everything was delicious and definitely worth the price! No regrets here!
Kinton is always my top ramen store in Toronto Fried chicken karaage is super juicy and tasty! They always have new stuff to try, and today’s special is curry ramen. Curry ramen is not bad but I still like the chicken original the most! Service is nice and fast. Highly recommend the store
