There were little pros and cons, but ultimately the disappointing taste of food overshadows it all. Spicy garlic broth was way too salty, cold ramen wasn’t delicious, and the blue lemonade tasted cheap and out-of-place. No serious flaws (maybe other than broth being way too salty but that’s more of a personal preference), but I did not enjoy the food that much.
The meals and service were above my expectations. We truly enjoyed the environment of this spot. First-rate restaurant to take the family out for dinner.
We ordered two of these (Jalapeño chicken ramen) over the weekend via Skip. Everything was packaged well, but both of us got really sick after eating this (neither one of us is allergic to anything or have sensitive stomachs). The chicken wasn’t fresh (clearly came out of the fridge as it was VERY cold even before pouring in the broth) and tasted like it was boiled maybe a week ago. There was also something off about the miso very. It tasted very bland overall.
Would not recommend and is not worth the $. You can find better tasting ramen (even if it means paying a little bit more $) elsewhere in the downtown core.
I celebrated my birthday this evening in this delicious restaurant.happy to tell that it was a cool evening and the place was unquestionably one of the reasons for the happy gathering. The team cooperated in a graceful style, the meals were great and my guests were extremely thrilled. We shall absolutely visit again for more joyful events. Thank you very much.
Their ramen is generally delicious, but their vegetarian ramen is flavourless and quite gross. I would genuinely be surprised if anyone with any power to make menu changes had tried it. When I tried to make a substitution, they were not accommodating.
I love visiting Kinton for a bowl of ramen on a chilly day. Their ramens have a rich broth, tender pork shoulder/belly, and a perfect ramen egg! Love it!
This place is great to go with friends (or by yourself) for your all your ramen cravings. The prices are decent and they have a variety of options to choose from. The side dishes are pretty good as well. I recommend the spicy garlic pork bowl. I only wish they cooked the noodles a bit more because the two times I've been here I've noticed the noodles have been hard.
Great location to grab a quick bite for lunch or dinner, and the staff are always pleasant. My go-to order is the original pork ramen with an extra egg.
They do have an interesting loyalty program which seems to be quite successful of retaining old customers. The monthly special are all good so far even better than some from their main menu. I think they should consider updating their main menu to add some more.
Our go to place for AGO day. Ramen is always good, our favorite in Toronto. But whenever we are guided to far back wide table, it smells funky. Maybe chemical from the janitor room or smell from floor mop. That always been bothersome with my appetite. Better clean that area scentless.
I had their spicy garlic ramen most recently, and I was pleasantly surprised at the taste. I wasn't ecstatic about my previous visits, but my latest experience was great.
Price and portion is still questionable however, especially comparing it year-after-year.
Delicious ramen place. Nothing more really to say about it. Great noodle texture, delicious pork and chicken, and amazing broth. Throw in a nice Sapporo and you have a 10/10 meal
Solid ramen with interesting flavour combinations. Lots of topping add on availabilities. I find the broth and overall flavour to be nothing special compared to some other ramen joints.
Kinton's October Feature Ramen. I don't know if I would call it a ramen when there's no broth, or something on the side. However, it is perfect for a fall with the spicy sauce.
I meet with friends this great spot quite often! This is the best place to dine. I go there at least once a month. The cooking is just great, the team is friendly and the rates are fair. I enjoy going in this place to have a good dinner.
Ordered the shinier mazemen (the special menu item as of October 2019). What ensued was an indescribable amazement with what was served (in other words, an extremely satisfying meal). It had amazing value for its price, and it is surely one of the best ramen places in this city.
Went here to get lunch in between my classes! Got ramen and kaarage, the broth was super good and the pork was well seasoned. The kaarage was basically fried to perfection. Soooo good!
The Kinton family of Ramen Houses never fails. This lovely spot on Baldwin Street has a patio bar perfect for people watching. Friendly staff and the usual outstanding food. I️
Ordered takeout today. Kinton is always my go-to ramen restaurant for chicken soup based ramen. However I was a little disappointed that they put the extra nori that I ordered with the noodle takeout. It got all soggy by the time I had it.
Takoyaki was good but just a little heavy on the sauce. Tofu nugget is amazing as usual, a wonderful vegetarian snack!
Ordered chicken karaage, and discovered that the center was raw (it was pink and translucent). They replaced my food, but I am disappointed in this experience.
Probably the best ramen place I've experienced so far. The food is great. The staff is really friendly. I just may add that they should probably reconsider how ladies room is designed. Couldn't put my lipstick properly because the lights were too dim.
My favourite Kinton location in town. I been there for many occasions, the service is great, the Ramen tastes good, and the prices are reasonable. I have tried the chicken with many different combinations of the broth and have liked them all. Of course my friends being more normal than me, they usually get pork belly and they really like it here. I would definitely go back for more.
Never had ramen like this before. Worth every penny. The noodles were freshly made and you could personalize your dish as you desired. The flavours were fantastic, I could not have imagined enjoying ramen this much. Will be coming back again.
PS: Be prepared for a busy atmosphere and some waiting, although they serve very quickly so seats open up much faster than most places.
The Japanese fried chicken are awesome, and the ramen of the month in 2019/04 is just a masterpiece! The only shortcoming is the noodles are kind of over-boiled, too soft in my opinion.
The broth was ok with rich flavour. There must be some dry fish powder added in the broth as I had skin allergy immediately after meal. Karate was very good and good portion. Very busy joint on Balwin St! Will come again to try out other options soon!
Food is really good. Normally don't like ramen restaurants but this place is an exception. Communal seating along with odd and uncomfortable chairs would normally bring it down to a 4 star. But the food is that good.
Had to change my review after trying other spots in Toronto. This place has interesting options but has one of weaker broths compared to other ramen places. The flavours don't pop but still taste okay. Noodles are very generic. General quality I find is much lower to other big ramen names in the city. Their monthly specials are nothing to shout about. Ambience, staff are really cool but everything else is sub par.
I only go here for their Monday special which I cannot find anywhere else which is the fried chicken ramen. The ramen itself is better than average but maybe not outstanding. The service is actually well above average with great employees. Their ramen broth seems a little too salty or it contains too much MSG. By no means is the broth bad, but it's not the best I've ever had.
Not child or family friendly environment. Go down the street to Mo Ramen, family friendly. Child friendly and the Ramen is better. They even had cutlery for children.
I consistently come here with my son for the ramen set. He eats the chiki chiki don shredded chicken on rice, along with some of my extra noodles. Service is fast and friendly; we have almost always been seated at the Hokkaido back table which is at a lower height for child safety and to help eat. Taste is standard for Kinton Ramen locations - great!
Really nice place clean and great food! Friendly staff, Vlad always goes above and beyond with his customer service, one of the best workers of the place. I recommend this place to all ghe ramen lovers!
Excellent ramen with many options in an intimate bar style atmosphere. Spicy garlic pork is simple and delicious and the monthly specials are always interesting if you want something more complex. Super friendly authentic staff.
Love coming here for the pork spicy garlic ramen as it's one of the only resto to offer this unique option. Be warned to not order this if you don't like raw garlic as they give you a mini scoop full of raw garlic that you're supposed to mix. Make sure to bring some mints/gum after to prevent bad breath. On this occasion, we also ordered the miso ramen but found it to be lacking in flavour in comparison to the spicy garlic ramen. A bowl of ramen is around ~$15 so pretty comparable to other places although I wish it came with soft boiled egg as part of the price.
