I don't have enough good things to say about KWMA, the staff, or my midwives.

Eloise was my primary and Micheline was my backup, they were both so knowledgeable, kind, and supportive.

I had to be sent to McMaster for some tests at the beginning of my pregnancy and Eloise was helpful and patient while we worked through that together, and when I tripped down my stairs (oops) Micheline was in the hospital with me for hours while I was monitored. The reception staff, Kate and Dawn, were funny, sweet, and always gave me a hand when appointments needed to be moved around (or when I missed one).

My labour was long and tough and though I had planned on using the clinic birth suite, which is amazing, I ended up at Grand River for my birth. Eloise was with me encouraging me the whole time and came back to check on me and my son when we was held for a few days after. She also helped identify his tongue tie!

Both my midwives also helped support me so much as I struggled with the physical pain postpartum. It was so important how they understood exactly what I was going through and did everything to lend me their strength.

I'll recommend KWMA to everyone who's looking to get pregnant or who's already started their pregnancy journey and looking for a care provider, I'm so happy with the last 9 months of prenatal and postpartum care, I really can't put it into words.

Super great experience! Eloise was my main midwife and Micheline was my back up. They were both amazing! Eloise was great throughout my pregnancy and postpartum. Micheline was the midwife present for the birth as Eloise was at another birth, Micheline was amazing at encouraging me and supporting me during labour and delivery. Heidi and her student were present to support Micheline and both were awesome as well. Even though Eloise was at another birth, since she was in the hospital already (and right next door!) she came and checked in on me a few times after the birth which was really kind of her. Overall I had an amazing experience with the KW Midwifery, and I will definitely be back for the next one!

We received exceptional care from Nasrin, her student (Krista), and our back-up Min. They were all incredibly caring and knowledgeable. I felt comfortable with them from the first appointment and knew I was going to be in great hands throughout my pregnancy.
Although my labor/birth did not go as anticipated they supported me throughout. It was amazing to have them as a postpartum resource, as they were just a phone call away and always happy to answer any questions/concerns I had regarding my son. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for midwifery care.

I was very satisfied with my prenatal care experience. Having my midwife come visit me at home in the first weeks after birth was really great too.

Unfortunately labour and delivery did not go as expected. I thought my midwife would be with me as a support during labour. But I was alone, overwhelmed by pain, and scared. I was discouraged from going to the hospital when I expressed that’s what I wanted. I was told over the phone that I “wasn’t ready yet”. I felt like I was doing something wrong when my husband insisted and took me. Of course the midwife couldn’t have known, but they were wrong and it turned out to be on the verge of an emergency and the baby needed immediate medical attention from the NICU team. There was also a moment during birth when I was terrified something was going to be done to my body without consent. All of this said, I am grateful that my midwife delivered the baby safely. She also took great care in tending to my body immediately after birth and when visiting me at home.

For some other reasons I discharged myself a week early from the clinic. I never felt comfortable bringing up my feelings about what happened and the business did not follow up either.

Edit: I was called by a senior midwife who listened to everything I needed to say and assured me my concerns were taken seriously. While it doesn’t change the experience I feel like I can move on better now.

Such great care and experience as first time parents! So much support throughout pregnancy and postpartum! We loved our midwives Eloise and Mina!

Had an amazing experience with KW Midwifery. I highly recommend Adriana and Eloise based on my pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum care I received. I felt supported, listened to, and cared for. I found everything was very well organized and the midwives were extremely knowledgeable. Thank you again for everything!

Awesome experience. We are first time parents and we had no family support, but we had our supper star "HEIDI JOHNSTON". She was just awesome. I can't express it in words, she is really good. If you are under her care, just stay calm and trust her.

The KWMA team made my first pregnancy, birthing and postpartum experience a comfortable and memorable one. I gave birth at the KWMA clinic's birthing suite, supported by Eloise, Adrianna, Krista and my birth partners, all following safe COVID practices. During the postpartum phase, Eloise and Adrianna visited us at home or checked in with us daily over the phone until I was ready to move on to in-clinic visits again. Eloise also helped me through breastfeeding challenges. The receptionist Dawn was prompt and helpful in addressing my emails. I felt that I got great care at every stage from this team of knowledgeable midwives.

Never been so sad to say goodbye to a midwife. Nasrin has been an amazing midwife and I feel so lucky to of had the chance to have her as my midwife she is one of the sweetest ladies ever. I also had Min who delivered my son and she is a great caring midwife aswell and gave me the best birth experence. Thank you KW midwifery for the best experence with you

At one of the turning points in my life, we decided to settle in Kitchener. I was pregnant and I didn't know English very well. That's why I had to find a center that provides services in Turkish. After my research, I decided that Kitchener Waterloo Midwifery Associates was exactly the place I was looking for. As I had a not so good experience in Toronto, I hesitantly went to my first date. Everyone we saw was asking about our needs. My husband and I both felt a little more comfortable with this attitude. Then we met Mina. She she she is a perfect person. She made me feel comfortable in every way and I felt very safe on my way to the birth. Like everyone else, I was presented with 3 options. Home, center or hospital. I chose to give birth in the center and I'm glad it did. Mina is truly a wonderful person with a lot of experience. I took my baby in my arms with health. I still don't know English very well, but I write them using translate. Because good things should not be hidden. I made my choice based on the comments. It was time for me to write my nice comments, even I was late. Thank you Kitchener Waterloo Midwifery Associates family, thank you Nasrin Bandari Governor, and the biggest thank you to Mina Sharafbafy.

My midwife Carole is so easy going and accommodating. (Including answering our phone calls and text messages about concerns about baby and me postpartum) She is the absolute best! All the staff I have dealt with have always been so kind and nice. I have had Carole now for 2 babies and have had Lisa and Heidi for backups. When delivering I have had both my backups there as Carole was off both times lol. My backups were both sooo nice and made me feel so comfortable. Highly recommend going with a midwife, the care and support you receive is like no other.

I had some concerns and nasrin called me and talked to me about it which helped me feel more secure.appreciate the call, dedicated midwifes.

I've had very good experiences at KW Midwifery. I've had my first two little girls there and am currently pregnant with another with KW Midwives.

I've had a different midwife each time (Lisa, Carol, and Nasrin) and have had very positive and different experiences with each of them.

The birthing suite is great, too! They're right across from the hospital, so if anything went wrong it's a relief to be so near to Grand River.

I'd definitely recommend them!

I had an amazing experience from start to finish. Carole took good care of me and I felt supported and cared for every step of the way, especially during this pandemic. She would answer all my questions no matter how silly they were. My experience with the backup midwives were also great. Confidently would recommend to anyone!

Lisa is super friendly, passionate, and positive. My wife and I had two babies born here and the experience was very comfortable.

I just recently had my first baby with KW Midwifery and could not be happier with the experience. My midwife was Natasha and she was truly exceptional. She was always able to answer all my questions and concerns and make me feel calm and reassured. I was able to give birth in the birthing suite and everything went very smoothly due to all her help, expertise, and encouragement. It doesn't end there either. After the baby arrives the midwives come visit you at home to check in on you and baby. It was so nice not having to leave the house while recovering and having that added support. I hope I'm able to have Natasha deliver all my babies and honestly cannot recommend this wonderful place enough. These midwives work so hard and have so much compassion and knowledge and I can't thank them enough!

Absolutely amazing. My midwife was compassionate, knowledgeable, and helped ease all my fears about giving birth and having a baby in the middle of a global pandemic. Although I was planning on a hospital birth, my baby came so fast that I had a home birth and it was the best birthing experience! My midwife was so encouraging and calm during the critical moments and helped my husband through something we were totally unprepared for!

And I can’t speak highly enough about the after care. It was so lovely and cozy to spend time with my little family in my bed after my baby was born and have my midwife come visit rather than have to get packed up and get out of the house. All of my decisions were listened to and respected and my midwife was so affirming and empowering.

I am so grateful for Natasha and KW Midwifery. I had planned on a birth suite birth, however it unfortunately wasn't possible in my case but nevertheless I felt very cared for throughout the process. Natasha was very kind, thorough and open and always provided excellent information at our appointments. When there became a need for increased monitoring in our case she was very on top of it, and when our situation ultimately led to an early induction and C-section my midwife was there for me and made me feel supported throughout. Natasha also provided very helpful aftercare with the additional challenges I had, always making me feel listened to and empowered to make the best choices for me and my baby. I highly recommend Natasha and KW Midwifery.

We had such a positive, caring experience with KW midwives. Our midwife Lisa was so knowledgeable, compassionate, reassuring, and a tireless advocate for me post-partum. She made my labour and delivery experience smooth and calm. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, and I truly miss having her as my care provider. I don't know what I would have done without her, and I cannot thank her enough.

We were lucky enough to have Heidi as our Midwife in both 2016 and 2019. Her care far exceeded expectations and made such a positive impact on our experience both times.

We had Min Liu as our midwife for my first baby. Min is AMAZING! She is knowledgeable, caring and patient. We couldn't have asked for a better midwife! Thank you very much, Min and KW Midwifery staff!

Horrible and traumatic experience with my 1st, so glad i switched to an Ob with my 2nd pregnancy.

Thanks to each team especially midwife Nasrin. She is very cooperative, offering lots and lots of cooperation to women and children, with all my heart thank you all.

Best experience hands down, I was treated like gold by my midwife Carole and the two ladies working reception are awesome. If you want quality care and to be assured a wonderful pregnancy and delivery, I urge you to go here. They totally normalized my pregnancy and breastfeeding, and made the transition into motherhood an amazing one. If I could rate 100 stars I would.

If I could give a negative star I would. My friends are know having children and keep asking me who I went to so I thought I’d share my experience.
6 years ago, they (3 midwives) ‘helped' me deliver my daughter. I use helped lightly. I showed up around 8pm on a Friday my midwife was off so I got her replacement. She checked me and asked me what the discoloration was and smelt it. She had to call a doctor over. My daughter had pooped. Some time had passed know and 2 were in and out checking how far along I was and trying different tactics. A few hours passed then the one was checking how far dilated I was and took a personal call around 8am while still inside me and when she got off the phone she said it was her daughter just calling her to tell her she was up. I was in shock. A few more hours passed and I was finally fully dilated and had pushed for 2 hours and the doctors finally had to step in. I did everything naturally tell now. The doctors had to induce me, then gave me an epidural and then a c-section within an hour. My daughter came at 4: 20pm Saturday. The next day my midwife showed up and my mom gave us space so her and I could catch up. My daughter happened to poop in her diaper. I was in tears, exhausted, in pain. I asked my midwife to change her diaper and she looked at me in fear, ran to the door looking for my mom. She asked me where my mom went (witch we both knew) she made me call a nurse because my daughter was too fragile (7lb6oz and You deliver babies lady!). The nurse asked my midwife why she couldn’t help me but stopped mid way because of the look on my face. The nurse told me she doesn't know why my midwife was still a midwife because of her lack of experience. I looked at the website and all 3 are in the picture.
Never again and I will not recommend this place to anyone.

We absolutely adore the whole team. We had Nasrin and Min each deliver our babies. They took such loving care of us, while still advocating for the best for our babies. When one baby was born with a condition, they were quick to get us referred to a team that could help.

Make you feel like an idiot if you are scared about childbirth. I felt they decided I wasn’t a right fit for a midwife instead of the other way around. For a place that is supposed to bring ease and information, I felt like I didn’t make the cut instead of making the important decision myself.

It’s so crazy how so many people including midwives can make your pregnancy seem so unimportant. Would rather stay with an OBGYN.

This review is overdue but well deserved. We cannot recommend Heidi highly enough!

As a son of a Midwife I have been well educated in the world of Midwifery and had high hopes and expectations in having a Midwife for our babies.

Having Heidi as our Midwife for both of our daughters she met those expectations easily. She is everything one could want in a Midwife. She is extremely competent, compassionate, and thoughtful. She has a great sense of humour and a calm confidence.

My wife’s pregnancies involved a condition/risk that Heidi hadn’t seen before. She was very willing to research and learn about my wife’s risk factors and was very helpful guiding us through the process of transferring care to the Hamilton hospital for part of the pregnancy before returning to Heidi for the actual birth. Her postpartum care was excellent and she was a much valued support and resource to us through the early days with our newborns and breast feeding issues we had with both. We were always sad when our visit ended!

To sum it all up, Heidi’s calling is most definitely a Midwife. She is everything you could ask for and she is selfless in her dedication to her mums, babies, and families. If you are lucky enough to get her as your Midwife you are in fantastic hands!

I received the best care, attention and education from my midwife Heidi with my first born. I currently have her again for our second child and couldn’t be happier. I have nothing but good things to say about the care of a midwife and this clinic. Highly recommend and I did have to see an OB as well because of complications with my first pregnancy. I had a good experience with my OB but would go the midwife route over it because of the education, time and attention received.

Love my midwife Lisa. Very supportive and helpful throughout the process. So grateful for this team of women.

We got the best service with our midwife here.we worked with Heidi Johnston when my 2nd daughter was born (June 2017) and all we can say are great words for the entire team, from the moment we filled out the form, greeted by receptionist, scheduling appointments then finally meeting Heidi. From the first appointment till the last baby appointment we had.she made sure we get the best care we need. Even at the end I had to do a C-section and primary care for me was moved to O. B, when I had mastitis, she made sure I get the support I need. Midwives here are very skilled and caring. I thought i had better experience before with my previous midwife with my 1st daughter but when we met Heidi Johnston, we were blown away by how skilled, passionate and caring she is with her clients. We had a great experience. Highly Recommended!
