Who knew that in Markham on Enterprise Blvd, I would find an absolute gem of a Japanese restaurant with the freshest Sashimi and most delectable cocktails.

I know fresh sashimi when I taste it and I know an outstanding Negroni when I sip one and on both these counts this restaurant has hit all the right notes.

The service is good and not overtly familiar as you get in some restaurants. It was not contrived. Just attentive enough. They were a bit slow on the drinks but patience was a virtue because when the cocktails did arrive, it was a just worthwhile.

Its expensive but you get what you pay for.and I will for certain be heading back for another round of cocktails and sashimi at this place.

Nice atmosphere, nice staff, ok-level food.
Dishes have nothing special, despite a price above your regular Japanese Restaurant.
You’re paying for a nice ambiance, but the food isn’t on the same level.
A good place for a business dinner, rather than for a date.

Sushi and sashimi is fresh and really great. Everything else is terrible especially for the price. The tonkatsu was overcooked, the udon was undercooked, and tempura was nothing special.

Yesterday was our 10th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY! We arrived slightly earlier than our reservation. I can say that this place was remarkable. The service was amazing. Our Server was amazing. We were also treated with a complimentary drink (also bubbly was not my thing.but it was unexpected). Food was tremendously fresh. Beef Tataki, Salmon Aburi Oshi, Sashimi (5 varieties), Monkfish Karaage, Baked Oyster, Sushi Don.all very very fresh. Presentation was great. All in all.it was just a perfect amount of food and a perfect night out for a special night.

We had such a great experience at Kiu! The service was fantastic, I wish I could rate them higher! Food was amazing! They had fresh tuna come in that day and the chef had super fresh tuna sushi on special. My husband loved it! We can’t wait to go back!

This is my second time in over 5 years. And I think for me that says a lot. Was really hoping to give it a second chance since so much time has passed, but unfortunately I don’t have much to boast about.
The food was mediocre at best, the salad pretty tasteless and you could tell the lotus chips were not freshly fried. The shrimp was pretty breaded and the oishi sushi was sub-par. Rice was a bit hard and the mayo just masked the flavours for 2 of the 4 sushi’s. The takoyaki wasn’t bad but there was only a tiny octopus piece inside. I did enjoy the agedashi tofu as it was nice and hot, made fresh.
I tried to make reservations for 5: 45pm, but when I went back to it 5 mins later, it was no longer available so I booked it for 6pm. Upon arriving at 6, the restaurant was literally empty, with maybe 3 other tables occupied. Strange why I couldn’t book 5: 45pm.
If you are going to catch a movie later or hang out around Enterprise, it’s an easy and convenient option. Perhaps I have higher expectations for Japanese food, and of course to each their own. But for me this didn’t hit the mark.

Gonna be showcasing some tasty food from the 6ix! First up, don't miss out on their aburi sushi. Their udon was surprisingly the highlight of the meal (the broth was just)
19 July 2023 6:04
The food taste and quality is average, but what tainted the whole experience was the 2 male servers - after we finished our meals, the first male server walked over and asked “you guys done with your food? ” (Yes, these were the exact words used when he was asking us), and about a couple minutes after our plates were taken away, another male server came to our table and asked “you guys want anything else? I’ll get your bill? ”

We felt we were rushed to leave the restaurant when the restaurant was half empty. I would understand if the restaurant was full and if there was a line up for table but if there were still unoccupied tables and no line up, then why rush your customers?

The hostess and the lady server who took our orders were friendly and courteous, but it’s unfortunate how our experience with the 2 male servers at the end will prevent us from coming back.

Great place to have dinner with family or friends. Dishes are amazing. Friendly staffs and great service.

I want to base my review solely on my experience at the restaurant, particularly at the Speak Easy Bar of Kiu Japanese.

I had the Old-Fashioned #12

Possibly, the tastiest Old-Fashioned cocktail I’ve had to date.

Knob creek small batch, Demerara, Angostura, orange bitters, orange zest, and Bar Manager Albert Han’s magic.

This cocktail was smooth, it is a little more on the sweet side of the Old fashioned cocktails I’ve had, but I absolutely loved it.

When Albert brought the drink to me, I was so taken back by it’s simple beauty, that I immediately wanted to snap a few photos of it, he said: “no, you should take a sip right now because the taste will change as the ice melt”. Hence, the smudge on the glass.

But you know what? After the first sip of this cocktail, I already knew that I would definitely be back to @kiurestaurant for more cocktails. I want to try the smoked Old-fashioned next time, and random ones crafted by Albert.

You’ve got to try his drinks and have some nigiri and snacks!

We came here for Christmas day lunch and really enjoyed their Kaizen Don, paired with a Miyakanbai Sparkling Yuzu Sake. It was a refreshing meal and the staff were really friendly.
05 January 2022 5:32
This is my first time going back to Kiu since shut down dine in.   My expectation is high because it was really good before.   Things changed after I had my dinner tonight.   It is not bad but with comparison, it is definitely going a bit down hill. Ordered the bake oyster, eel rice, sashimi platter, striploin steak cube and custard pudding.   The bake oyster taste is good, but the size is small.   Sashimi is fresh and thick cut, but not really worth the price point.   Eel rice is really dry with almost no sauce.   The most surprise entree of the night is the medium rare steak on sizzling plate.   Japanese custard pudding is a nice touch at the end of the dinner.   If you would ask me if I will come back, I would not at this moment, but maybe in a few months down the road, I might!

Today suddenly I craved for sashimi don, so I looked at different sushi places to pick my don of the day. Lobster sashimi and scallop don from Kiu Japanese cuisine is the final pick of the day.   At the price of $45, I definitely recommend this don to everybody. A whole fresh lobster sashimi with generous 5 pieces of scallop sashimi on top of the vinegar sushi rice. The presentation of the don from the take out box is beautiful. It divided into three sections, one is the fresh steam claws meats, the middle section is all the freshly tasted lobster meats, and the last section is the fresh scallop. I am very satisfy with the lobster don from Kiu. It also comes with the lobster miso soup. Basically the chef use the whole lobster and didn't waste any part of the lobster. Amazing take out today from Kiu and this don can easily be one of the best don in town
29 December 2021 17:40
This place used to be a very nice Japanese restaurant with fresh ingredients and reasonable prices. Now, this place is simply a cash grab. $34 for a Chutoro Don which was literally 4 pieces of Chutoro, bit of minced toro, mediocre miso soup, and a little bit of overly seasoned rice. Also, usually chicken Karage are in good size pieces, not like a cutlet cut up in 5 small pieces. Sorry, I will never be back again. The reason why I still give it a 2 stars is for the friendly waitresses that served us today.
23 December 2021 8:21
Very Fresh Sashimi, Good food
Deduct 1 star as this is our 6 th time here, but they didn’t reserve the window seat that requested so what’s the point for Reservation?
17 December 2021 1:00
Coming back again today for the sushi with my gf.sushi is a the same quality as all you can eat sushi. They changed the sushi chef. So.no more kiu. Sad to see such a nice restaurant going south.

See below for previous reviews

Tried again today as my gf wants to come over.
Menu changed, price went up and no more ramen is still a big minus, but the sushi is still good. Appetizers are not too great and definitely over priced. Nice Atmosphere and good customer service

Previous review below.used to love this place. 5 stars before - cause they make excellent sushi and ramen.

Sushi was still good - but they changed their menu - so not much varieties comparing to before. AS WELL - the ramen portion became so much smaller for some reasons and definitely not as good as before. A bit dissapointed from the recent visit
11 December 2021 8:52
I had the snow crab fritters and black cod, it wasn't filling and I had to order more but very tasty indeed.
05 December 2021 17:53
Had the premium kaisen don, chef's choice. It was good, fresh salmon and tuna, but not particularly impressive compared to the price. Overall the food is decent but expect to pay a premium for the convenience of location.
04 December 2021 17:52
日本の味です!寿司や刺身を食べたい時は、必ずここで注文します。味噌汁まで美味しい。宅配 (Uber Eats) も美味しかったです。

This is exactly the same taste as Japanese ones. I would recommend to order sushi or sashimi. They are fantastic!

I am very late to writing this review, as now my favourite ramen from them seems to no longer be available. Before the pandemic, this use to be my go to for Ramen. However I will continue with the review as some dishes I've tried are still available. Aside from serving up some flavourful ramen bowls, Kiu also serves up some delicious Japanese appetizers and sushi. The interior is really nicely decorated as well, making this spot a nice romantic date spot.

[Salmon Carpaccio] - This is one of our favourite appetizers, as the quality is fresh tasting with the added ponzu making it so delicious and refreshing. We also had a similar dish with shrimp & scallop (see attached photo), however I can't find it on the menu so I think it might have been a a special that day.

[Chicken Katsu Rice] - Nicely breaded katsu with the perfect crunch. However a little small.

[Spicy Miso Ramen] - My husband's personal favourite ramen. They use to have a lot more options for Ramen but I guess that has changed. They use to serve a black garlic ramen which was my absolutely favourite. Really wish they would bring it back.

[Oishi Sushi] - I am a huge fan of Oishi Sushi, for those who don't know they're like the rectangle shape pressed sushi. Kiu offers lots of different kinds and my personal favourite is the [Salmon Aburi Oishi].

Overall, friendly staff, nice interior, delicious good and a great date night spot. I highly recommend the ramen and oishi sushi.
21 November 2021 6:39
Service could of been better but after speaking to the manager I understood they had new staff. The food here was delicious. I really liked the ebi mayo and the soba salad.
16 November 2021 13:05
Wanted to have an intimate celebration for my sons 100 day, given the pandemic but still wanted it to be special. Bosco, the servers, chef and bartenders provided an outstanding experience. Bosco was kind enough to work with us to design a special menu. On arrival there were all these little touches which were so wonderful- the attention to details really was so lovely l. The cocktails were a unique experience in themselves and food quality and taste was delicious. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be going back soon!
08 November 2021 22:37
I've been to Kiu a few dozen times over the last few years and left happy every time! The quality of their food and customer service are exemplary. Their lunch specials are a steal- from their tonkatsu set, high grade sashimi, to their fresh ramens reminiscent of Japan, are the reasons I crave for their food every few weeks. Their specialty cocktails are both superb and underrated. Their mixologist Albert serves the most phenomenal cocktails that are tasty and beautiful. Please be patient when ordering though, he really takes his time to ensure your drink is perfect; you will not be disappointed and will feel it is worth every dollar!
03 November 2021 23:12
DONT BE FOOLED!
Don’t be fooled by the fact that this establishment is located on the second floor of a cinema complex.
On the contrary, as you walk in in you will find a very sophisticated and seasoned operation.

From the welcoming of the hostesses to the bartenders’ cheerful greeting (Albert) all is set in motion to ensure an evening of delight. As I dined alone at the bar I was able to witness how busy the bartender was was making science out of drinks! My charming waiter (Trish) was very attentive and was able to suggest exactly what I was looking for. It was refreshing to be helped by a knowledgeable waiter….

Although quite busy for a Saturday night my order was ready in no time. The delicacy of the Bonito was enhanced with the soft lighting and great soft jazz selections (credit to Mr Albert).

My second dish (Roulade) was one of the best chicken dishes I have ever had. While eating at the bar I had the privilege of meeting the General Manager (Mr Bosco) and the Chef (Mr Charlie).
Both seemed very professional and dedicated to their craft.

As I was leaving I noticed the amount of clients thanking and cheering the staff on the way out. This is always a good sign. It would seem Ki is successfully developing a following for its brand. I will definitely be back and strongly recommend but will make reservations for weekends.

Done of the best sushi in the city. Reflected in the price obviously but fresh and we'll plated
12 October 2021 2:56
Great experience, I loved the ambience. This was our first dine-in after the pandemic lockdowns. Food was fresh and tasty, friendly staff, upscale, very clean and well maintenaned place. Definitely a great spot to celebrate your special occasions with some delightful Sushi
07 October 2021 6:04
If you are coming to this restaurant must read my comment. I am a regular customer for this restaurant for at less 3 to 4 years, their price went up but the food quality went down by alot. I usually will come to this restaurant with my gf every month but now I don't think we will come back again. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is they still have good service.so if you are looking for good food not this place.supersuper Disappointed! Used to be a good restaurant, don't know what happened
26 August 2021 15:00
Ordered the beef tataki, buttered poached lobster, grilled cuttlefish, 9 pc sashimi platter and the live lobster sashimi.

Firstly, service was wonderful, however both the sashimi platters arrived well after the other dishes were finished, even though the place was relatively empty. Both the grilled cuttlefish and buttered lobster were tender and not overcooked and the tofu cream sauce that came with the latter was great, however there was still a hard skin on the outside of the lobster. The beef tataki was a nice blend of sweet and salty, with a nice acidic aftertaste. Sashimi was pretty ordinary just like any other you'd get, few pieces of salmon, tuna, shrimp, scallop and sea bass. The lobster tail sashimi came with 2 bowls of soup, made from the rest of the body, which was a bit too salty and barely filled up to the middle of the bowl.

My only gripe was that everything was a tad overpriced, nothing really stood out that justified paying almost 40 dollars for just 9 pieces of sashimi or 30 dollars for a buttered lobster tail the size of a chapstick. The plating was nice, but you'd get the same at any other sushi establishments, with larger servings at that. The gold flakes on the lobster was a nice touch I'll have to admit. Décor was alright, but nothing special, and lacked a feeling of ambience and didn't feel "high end" enough to justify the price.

In my opinion, it's an alright place overall with good tasting food, however, you could probably find better value elsewhere. Still, I recommend that if you're interested, you should at least give it a try.
21 August 2021 22:03
Restaurant is super clean, the visual of the food is beautiful and tastes above average.
But just one thing, the server who took care of us made us little uncomfortable. We usually don't like to have a small chat with servers so when servers ask us some questions, we just answer quickly and simply and come back to our own conversation. She kept approaching to us, asked a question, we answered, and she didn't leave and talked next to us for 1~2 min everytime. Maybe she is trying something to be seen as a friendly server, but unfortunately it made us uncomfortable. Good luck for her tho. It doesn't mean we didn't like her, just.wanted to have our own quite lunch.
13 August 2021 4:15
The restaurant is under new management, no longer the original owner who opened the restaurant. Menu is completely different. Ramen is only available for lunch. Our server told us that the menu is designed for fine dining and the prices certainly do reflect that. We went there yesterday for the first time since the pandemic, and it wasn't busy. Overall the food was okay but more expensive. The hostess was friendly and nice, but our server and the manager were not so much. I probably won't go back. It's too bad because I really liked the food and the people when it was under the original owner.
03 August 2021 9:22
I love going here! Presentation is always beautiful, restaurant decor is beautiful, amazing and friendly service and food is always fresh and delicious. Been here so many times, I've lost track!
16 July 2021 9:24
I came here in March 2021 with my cousin and we had a great time! The restaurant is following COVID procedures as outlined by the Canadian government such as maximum capacity restrictions. All staff members were very friendly! The sushi is of excellent quality which matches their price point. I would definitely recommend this place if you love high-end Japanese cuisine.
11 June 2021 23:13
I tried their ramen meal kit. I tried bight the spicy and the regular ramen. I don’t normally order spicy, but it has an element of surprise! The flavor and broth has a rich flavor! Strongly recommend it to your family and friends! Will definitely order it again!
01 March 2019 1:43
Most authentic Japanese flavors in the Toronto and surrounding area! Delicious dishes carefully crafted with meticulous TLC and detail carving every dish into the memory of your taste buds. However, the price does lean over towards the higher end of premium pricing ($$$).

CHICKEN KARAAGE - $9
Didnt expect much on first bite on this one but it tastes way better than it looks! It's not just any fried chicken! The meat inside the deep fried batter was so soft and juicy, it was a mouth watering appetizer to try for sure! Would definitely order this again!

THE SUSHI
Ordered the salmon, shrimp, scallop and eel and all four just melted in your mouth in flavors. The fish roe is also very fresh and delicious. I have to say the sushi is my favorite of all the things tried at kiu. I could just eat sushi here and be happy with that! The rice is also super soft, but a word of caution. Handle your sushi with delicate care. A little too much force with your chopstick could tear apart the delicately put together piece of art, be gentle with it!

THE RAMEN - $13
Known for their ramen, It was a dish I had to try. Overall the ramen isn't super epicly amazing, I would say it's "good" and I would order it again but there are definitely more delicious and interesting things on the menu to engage the taste buds. The noodles had a good texture, not too soft or too hard, just the right texture. The spicy shio ramen and the regular ramen were good. I'm not a big spicy eater and I was able to eat the spicy shio ramen just fine, the spice gives it just a bit of a kick not enough to overpower the other ingredients in the bowl. The char siu was also good but there were only two thin pieces. I loved the double boiled egg, but with they had the whole egg and not just half making me feel like I got jipped for the other delicious half.

MISO BLACK COD - $22
Though a little pricey this is definitely one of my favorite dishes here. I absolutely loved the pieces of black cod just flaking off. Delicious flavors, amazing taste, just love this dish!

SAKE STEAM CLAMS - $14
This dish was more about the presentation upon serving than the actual flavor. The clams are deliciously cooked in sake and fire right at the table and the "soup-sauce" is something to slurp up after devouring the clams. Liked it but not my favorite here at kiu.

Overall, I really liked kiu and I would definitely go back. For the fresh sushi! Among the millions of Japanese restaurants and fusion restaurants, this one definitely stands out and is worth a visit to at least try it once. It will take a little hit on the wallet but I think it's worth the try! It is delicious! Recommend!
20 January 2019 12:46
This place was amazing. Albert is the best bartender with the most amazing knowledge about any drink you can think of. Best drinks I have ever had! The Ramen and sushi were great also. If I ever come back to Toronto I will definitely visit here again. Highly Recommend!
05 January 2019 19:21
Hands down the best sushi place in Canada (at least). After living in Japan for some time I lost all hope in finding good sushi in Toronto. Boy you won't regret eating sushi at Kiu, it's a special experience. Chefs are the world's best and prices for the food you get are reasonable. Drinks would get another star if I could rate higher. Amazing place!
The only improvement can be in service, waiters are all over the place, but food overshadows the this.
01 January 2019 6:56
Great place for authentic ramen. Ordered the garlic shoyu ramen, spicy white sesame shio ramen and chicken karaage. Broth is very flavourful and good portions. The karaage is greasy and needs to be cut smaller.
31 December 2018 3:41
Most dynamic Japanese restaurant in markham.
Been here over ten times,The restaurant manager is a young Chinese man, capable and enthusiastic. The menu is sparsely chosen, but almost every dish is classic.personally love eel rice and ramen, and sushi is great. According to the manager, the sushi chef is a senior chef in Japan. The cocktail is also exquisite. Sitting at the bar and watching sports on the big screen is also a great experience. In general, unlike many Asian restaurants of markham, this feeling of youth is unique.
25 December 2018 17:40
Mostly come here for the ramen. My favourite is the KOTTERI RICH SHOYU RAMEN. Very solid flavour compared to their other ramen. I tried their dipping version of the same flavour but didn't like it as much. I felt like I didnt get enough dipping broth. Prices here for the sushi is more on the higher side.
13 December 2018 21:01
Far exceeded my expectations. The price is on the higher end, but the quality of food is solid and the variety is amazing. (Photos: miso glazed bone marrow, uni nigiri & fresh oysters)
12 December 2018 2:48
I've been coming here for years and I can proudly say it's easily my favourite Japanese restaurant in Markham. Everything is reasonably priced for the quality you receive, but can lean to the more expensive side.

The kotteri rich shoyu is my favourite ramen. Slightly less salty than other ramen places, but more palatable and still very rich in flavour!
The sashimi is fresh and the assortment you receive is always a treat!
I occasionally treat myself to the chirashi don when I'm craving a dose of sashimi and rice! Beautifully prepared and flavours are perfect!

Thank you for existing
28 November 2018 18:54
We stopped by on an early Tuesday evening for ramen. Tried the Shio and Kotteri Rich Shoyu. Both very good in flavour with perfectly chewy noodles. Chasui was sliced too thin for my liking (can't really get much taste out of such thin slices nor does it has the heartiness of substantial meat) but other than that they were very satisfying bowls.

Service was attentive and prompt. Yes, it does have a pleasant ambience, with the physical style of the place, music and crowd all making for a good visit.

I look forward to dining here again. Kanpai!
21 November 2018 4:35
First, I want to apologize for eating before taking photos of the food. I didn't even photograph everything I ate, cause I devoured everything. The food here is so so good, I kept forgetting to take a picture when it was served. Not only is it really really good, it is very fresh, flavourful and just fantastic! The bartender Albert, takes real honest pride in the craft of cocktails. Just be warned his cocktails take time to mix, but the end product is worth the wait. Look forward to eating here again and drinking an Albert creation. BTW, if you sit at the bar, Albert has a secret cocktail menu, that you can only have at the bar. Cheers!
23 October 2018 22:40
The food we had was good. The chicken karaage was excellent, shitake mushrooms were a bit burnt tasting. The two of us both had ramen. I had the most expensive ramen (17$) and it was pretty good, but it barely had any pork. I would definitely recommend adding additional pork toppings. Overall the ramen isn't as good as santosei or kinton. But then again this place is mostly sushi which I'm not a huge fan of. Bathrooms really nice.
21 October 2018 5:31
Honestly this has been some of the best sushi I've had in my life. I dont understand why people or how people could complain about the quality.

Supposedly this is one of Jiro Ono's apprentices who is rolling the sushi. I met the guy who seemed to run the place, Albert along with the guy who was running what I can only assume is an equally complimentary bar though I did not get a chance to sample his cocktails. (Han San)

I need you guys to understand the care and precision in which these rolls were made. I have eaten at plenty of fine sushi restaurants and none have quite approached this quality. Let me break it down:
The tuna for sashimi is actually separated into 3 categories
Akami - lean
Chutoro - slightly fatty
Otoro - very fatty
Each has it's own profile for texture and I was walked through and explained the differences as I was eating.

I ordered a crab roll and it was perfect. I dont know how to describe it better. The cucumber exploded during the bite and complimented the soft texture of the roll while the rice provided a cloudy texture and substance, with the meat shining through, though not overbearing. The rolls include just a hint of wasabi.enough to taste but falling short of touching the nose in terms of spice.

The beer I had cant even be found in the states. I've honestly never seen it before and was fascinated with the taste. It is a rice beer IPA, yet aged in barrels used for sake.

Thank you for one of the best meals I have ever eaten. 70 CAD was more than I expected to pay walking in but it was worth more than that to be walked through my meal and treated to a sushi chef who truly treats the creation of food like an art.
14 October 2018 4:56
The food was delicious and the waiter was friendly. The ramen tasted very good, but it gets very salty near the bottom. Some side dishes are relatively expensive but still worth a try.
12 October 2018 20:53
Kiu is the sister restaurant to Ramen Isshin (downtown Toronto) and bears about 50% of the menu, and 100% of the same quality. The other half of the menu is unique to this location only. While Ramen Isshin is more of a noodle bar, Kiu is closer to being a hybrid between dining and tapas. There are specials every week which change regularly, and I have not seen them repeat in the many times I have visited in 2 years. The main menu boasts many cooked Japanese dishes, but their specialties are really the sashimi and the ramen. I recommend getting the fresh sliced whole fish (prices depend on size and type) which is quite the flavor experience! They did take away their best ramen (Red Dragon) which is now only found in the noodle bar downtown. The top one here that I would recommend is the Kotteri shoyu. TIP: The best bang for buck is the chiraishi!
01 October 2018 8:43
I LOVE the ramen here, especially the Roasted Garlic ramen due to the creamier texture of the broth that they use, but their noodles are also a texture that I really enjoy. The biggest complaint I have is that this place does not allow you to order extra noodles when ordering a ramen meal. I don't believe I have EVER been to a ramen restaurant that does not allow extra noodles to be ordered on the side.instead, you are forced to order sides that they have listed as add ons (egg, extra meat etc.), or completely order a second bowl of noodles or main. The flavors in each of their dishes is excellent and I have no complaints in that aspect, from their Chirashi bowl to any of the ramen bowls, however, if you have a big appetite and are looking for large portions and to be filled with only one meal this may not be the right place for you.
28 September 2018 21:28
Great food and good service. Their ramen is very flavorful and would highly recommend. Range from garlic, spicy, and vegetarian broths. My friends and I found that the vegetarian broths was a little salty. The sushi was of good quality but for the price can find more options out there.
27 September 2018 8:33
Just like going to any other restaurants, you have to know what you want (or at least what you don't want) before going. The food is a bit pricey with an Asian fusion mix. The ambiance is nice, spacious and peaceful. But the restaurant often becomes packed, so the craziness may rob you of your peaceful evening. The drinks (cocktails) is why I rate the restaurant so high. The bartender is educated, cafty and unique. His attention to detail and his openness to share/learn your taste preference is why I would go back.
22 September 2018 5:16
A little far, but worth it for the amazing ramen here. Several flavours to try, as well as some tasty appetizers. It's the perfevt place to go to after catching a movie across the hall, or just gathering with some friends.

Ew this place sucks

1. We waited at the front for 5-6 min and the bar tender had to go in to tell the hostess to come out. This girl with black hair and blonde ends came out and muttered hello/welcome in Japanese and started to stare at us like she wanted us to say something.lol so I was like “table for 3”. And then she was like “do you have a reservation? ”. Umm what? Lol why would I tell you I want a table for 3 if I already have a reservation. Also, isn’t she suppose to be like the friendly face of the restaurant and either ask me if I have a reservation or how many people there are for my table?

2. The veggie ramen had nothing ‍️ other than a few pieces of mushrooms and a piece of seaweed and that was $13 already. I went to a veggie ramen place in Seattle and it was overflowing with goodness.

3. Out table also got the beef tataki. There was only had 8 pieces of super thinly sliced beef and that was $14 already. It didn’t come with anything.

4. Our drinks came near the end of the meal. We had to ask our server where our drinks were. He then looked at the bar and was like it’ll be here soon. Okay so I also looked at the bar cause we were right next to the bar and.the dude was like half cleaning and half trying to put down receipt roll in. When it’s like.where are our drinks and why aren’t you making them? ‍️

5. The drinks were ok.like okay because it was only $7 lol so fine they were ok. But it was way too sweet and didn’t have enough mint in it. It was suppose to be a lychee mojito.

Well, never come back here again lol. Dunno why the ratings so high ‍️‍️‍️‍️

A bit more expensive than the most similar style restaurant. Service was the highlight of the meal, so much better than your typical Chinese owned Japanese restaurant, servers are comfortable speaking English and comes back to check on how you are doing halfway through the meal, and also attentive and polite. Had the garlic ramen and shio ramen, the soup was good, but had a lots of msg, and very little meat and fixings, but the save the dish, it had a good bite and was Al dente, the chashiu rice with egg was really delicious and was our favorite, takoyaki had more octopus than others we've tried, but taste was just mediocre, ebi mayo was expensive for what you get, but shrimp batter was really crispy, lastly had the scallop oshi and it was quite fishy. Overall, one of the better ramen places in Markham/Richmond Hill /Scarborough area.

You can order whole fish imported from Japan and serve as sushi, sashimi or a combination or both. Customer service was fantastic, they were so helpful with sharing info on texture flavour and fattiness of the fish. The plating was beautiful and the sushi was delicious and so fresh call the food here is amazing and great ambiance.

The menu encompasses variety of Japanese dishes. Sushi is good but not excellent. Chirashi sushi is not standard fare; has less kinds of sashimi on top but the price reflects that. Ramen has improved since the opening. As good as any ramen restos out there claiming to be authentic, may be better now. Very open and usually crowded (reservation recommended). The music played is contemporary and quite loud. If you are looking for relaxed atmosphere conducive to conversation, this place is not it. Drink choices are good except for beer (very eclectic choices).
Plenty of parking.
Most importantly, the service crew is very good.

Made reservations for dinner on a Saturday night. It was busy but no lineups. Had the Shio ramen. The broth was delicious. Noodles Al dente but the pork was not like other places.it did not melt in my mouth. We also ordered sushi rolls - Spicy Tora Maki roll $17. Not worth it. It wasn't spicy. Small and the fillings was not substantial for that price. I would not recommend ordering it. The Takoyaki was not bad and the chicken karaage came with 4 pretty big pieces. Service was friendly and quick.
