The OWNER/manager provides terrible customer service and will go as far as yelling at her employees in front of customers.

Today I had brought in a coffee from Balzacs unaware of their no food/drink policy, while enjoying a sandwich from cookie and crumble. Instead of politely bringing this to my attention, she was very loudly expressing right behind my seat “I hate when people bring in drinks from Balzacs, we have coffee here too”. The continued lack of professionalism and customer service was astounding.

Agreeing with some of the reviews below, she’s definitely in need of hospitality courses.

The owner is genuinely the rudest and most inconsiderate person I've ever met. A friend of mine worked there, she didn't give out tips equally, she stole a percentage of them, and was constantly disrespecting both customers and employees. Don't know how this place is still running with this type of management. There is no decorum. I wouldn't recommend anyone come here because the lack of enthusiasm from the staff is due to the constant hounding and mistreatment from the owner. Crazy lady.

It may appear as a place friendly to bikers, but it really is not.however across the street balzacs has 2x the staff, a fountain for water bottles.and a way better atomsphere. The servers didnt seem very happy here.

Service was horrible. We had to ask for water 3 times and still did not get any. Coffee wasn't fresh. Waitress could not care less. Food was ok. I think management has changed!

Bad service, we got our food but no drinks, had to ask for the drinks many times before we finally got them. The food was greasy, felt uncooked and just tasted bad.

We didn't think to ask for coffee in a ceramic mug so it came in paper. Plates & cutlery were real, though.

You have to look carefully for this one.but LOOK FOR IT!
This is NOT just and ice cream/bakery place.but it is so much more.
A smallish interior (grab a table before you order and sit out on the patio if the weather is nice) with only five 2-seater tables and one big 6-seater. And this place is OBVIOUSLY good as it was filled with locals on a mid-weekday.
Service is efficient but be prepared to wait a bit as the kitchen is also small with just one TERRIFIC cook/chef who handles the whole menu. But it is worth the wait. Have some delicious coffee!
Food is fresh and locally sourced. There is baking to choose from but their breakfasts are spectacular! Country fresh orange eggs and thick peameal bacon with thick beefsteak tomato slices. My panini sandwich was loaded with thick slices of peameal stuffed in a fresh crusty bun hot off a press. It was something I could have split.
Washroom could use a bit of an update/reno.

I should’ve looked at the reviews and not went, servers are okay not the best, the food below average says all day breakfast but wasnt available when we came, nothing special take your money else where, food took long and tbh didnt enjoy it much.

Honestly I just want what I pay for and what is described on menu. I have made 3 attempts at ordering a brunch box, something is always missing. Avocado and Fruit always. I add anything, its forgotten I have to do a refund process. No one takes accountability. Just include what you list on the menu, or lessen the price. Never even a napkin included and today the seal on the dirty stained box was open and food was disappointing.

Best service and breakfast i’ve ever received! I came here with my boyfriend for his birthday brunch, and the owner Francis and her staff were so accommodating and the service was impeccable! Anything we needed, Francis was on the job right away! The patio was so clean, street performers playing jazz was a lovely atmosphere. We got a massive quantity of food for such a reasonable price, and the quality was insane! SO delicious. We got the breakfast box, most delicious thing i’ve had. If you were thinking about coming here, do it! One of the nicest dining experiences i’ve had:) Thank you Francis!

Just went for ice cream. The selection is small, but the ice cream tastes good. It's a bit expensive for the portion though, so don't think I'll be back, when there are better options for ice cream on the street. The staff were nice and they have a nice patio.

The menu pricing is totally no where near to what we were charged for everything we ordered. First of all, if you CHANGED the pricing this is something that should be brought up to customers prior to dining. What help is it looking at a menu with old pricing? We brought this up to management, from what I read on here her name is Francis. She was quite cold and completely brushed this off by telling us “it’s at the bottom of the menu, prices are subject to change” - “things have gone up in price”.

Okay.as everything else did in the world but at least work on changing your menus or getting staff to mention this when you have customers who are interested in dining in. Say the least, it literally just feels like a scam on her part of running that business let’s be real. On top of it all her staff looks miserable there, so hello! This speaks volume of the work atmosphere set.

I never leave reviews but this was truly so unprofessional. Pick up some hospitality courses please for the sake of this business and your name. I personally would not recommend this establishment now just for this reason.

This was our third visit to Cookie Crumble and nothing has changed. Slow service, rude servers and poor quality food. We decided to give this place three tries because of it's location but after today we are definitely not returning. It took 30 minutes for the kitchen to me 3 eggs! And when the plate arrived the food was greasy, cold and unpleasant. Servers act annoyed when you ask them for anything, including the bills. Won't be going back.

Excellent eggs Benedict and coffee. Loved that it came on a waffle. The peameal sandwich was huge with tomato and lettuce too.

I made an order for Mothers Day and not only was the order completely wrong but management made no attempt to contact me. I left a message and asked for someone to get back to me but I was ignored.

The service was very bad, dirty cutlery wth residual food, dirty tables. Staff seemed okay, unsure what they are dealing with behind the scenes. Food was nothing special. Plastic cups and paper cups. Huge disappointment for such a nice location. Would never step foot back in here and definitely a huge possibility to have it inspected.

Walked in to get served and was ignored, walked up to the counter was told to wait at the door for service and i would be able to get seated at the patio, someone walked in 5 mins later past me and got served, so they didn't get a dime from me, trash service, poor first experience, if i could leave a review with no stars i would

Visit to kleinberg from out of town. Ordered vegetable pannini. Very good. Nice atmosphere.

The food has good presentation. But it's just mediocre. I bought the brunch box for like $45 and to be honest, I could've made this at home. There was just nothing special or wow factor. Feels like all the items were bought from costco and assembled in a box. If I work out the math, the dish cost about $9.46 (normal consumer price, not business/bulk order) to make. That's a mark up of over 475%. Pretty insane overhead cost for those home made scones lol. Personally, I dont mind the crazy mark-ups, I get it. But just add some wow factor to the dish, perhaps a home made sauce, or throw in 2 cups of coffee for the consumers. Lite Cafe in Toronto is still one of my favourites places to grab brunch when I'm in the city, try taking a page off them. I'm not here to bash the business, just trying to help elevate your team because I do see the potential here.
