Update your opening time. If you store closes at 8: 45 pm, then don’t put 9 pm. Walking in cold winter to the store, arrived at 8: 50 pm and then was informed that the store is closed
Be aware that this place prioritizes online/app orders over walk-in ones. If you're a walk-in customer, they absolutely *will* let your order sit on the counter for many minutes before giving it to you, and you will be able to tell by the temperature of the food when you finally get it.
The irony is that the online orders are prepared too quickly, so those sit on the counter for a long time too. As a walk-in customer, you will have plenty of time to observe this.
The staff seem to have no idea that any of this is a problem. So if they see this: Food doesn't taste as good when it has been sitting out for too long.
I like their food, but if they don't get this sorted I will just give up on the place.
Edit 2 months later: That's it! I'm DONE. Yet again my food, that was supposed to be hot, was handed to me at barely above room temperature because it sat and sat and sat while the delivery orders were processed, even though I was right there in the store. The high staff turnover doesn't help but the owners/managers must simply not care. This place deserves to go out of business. If you *must* get food from there for some reason, order online! Don't go as a walk-in, you'll get worse food and service.
I LOVE Banh Mi. I haven't tried much places in Toronto because I always went to this one place in Mississauga. So I tried Komi for the first time, and it was life changing. The house style pork sandwich is amazing. Right amount of sauce, the meat was perfectly marinated and the bread was so soft. I was tempted to place another order right after I finished my sandwich. Edit: quality of meat has gone down since
Used to LOVE getting the house pork banh mi. However, over the last few months, the quality has declined. The last 3 times I’ve order this banh mi, the meat was either bad tasting or there was very little meat and tons of fat. It’s such a shame because this spot is usually phenomenal. I hope it’ll return to what it once was.
This was an unfortunate experience of prep quality vs.taste. My honey garlic chicken banh mi was very tasty, but in multiple bites the chicken was improperly prepared, where gristly chunks were left in with the meat. Made a good taste experience into and unpleasant one. Sad to say this, I wish the prep quality matched the taste.
Love this place. This is also one of those places that we frequent even though we don't live in the neighborhood anymore. Over the years they have added a lot of choices. My favourite is the lemon grass chicken with the habanero sauce. There is not a lot of room to sit, so it's not really a date night type of place. You can get the sandwich to go and enjoy it at Dufferin park though!
Just ordered two banh mi sandwiches (house style pork and drunken chicken) and they were both fantastic. We also got the crispy spring rolls and they were meaty and tasty. Will definitely be back!
The Food is amazing but the service not so much. The language barrier creates problems placing orders and theres a great chance they will get it wrong. Having you waiting 1hr to remake the entire order. I suggest ordering in person because ordering over phone will get you the wrong order every time otherwise very clean and very friendly.
Wow what a huge disappointment based on the volume of good reviews. Was very excited to see that we have a banh mi sandwich shop in the neighbourhood until today's experience. I thought I ordered the honey pork banh mi but all I could taste was sour oily carrot.not pickled carrot. There was barely any pork and the pork pate I added couldn't be found. I asked for cilantro and there were 3 leaves.everyone knows the taste is in the stems.none of those.just 3 lonely leaves. I will say that the pork sausage rolls were very fresh and tasty.that's the only reason they are receiving two stars.
I ordered the classic pork sandwich, along with the honey garlic chicken sandwich with habanero sauce. Both were great, but the honey garlic chicken was honestly the best sandwich I've eaten. The sweetness of the honey contrasts the habanero brilliantly and makes for a very well rounded flavor, and the texture of that tender dark meat only adds to it. One may argue that the portion sizes are lacking, but the vibrant flavor of any given sandwich here totally makes up for it.
Didn’t get a chance to take a picture, it looked so delicious I just dug right in! Definitely recommend the pork banh mi and bubble tea was great too. Will be ordering from here again!
We ordered two pork Banh Mi, with paté, and different hot sauces. My pal ordered his with the Habanero, but there wasn't a spice to be found. Only sweet - my guess is someone missed it, since it was on the receipt.
Excellent pork! Saucy, sweet - one of the best I've eaten. The bun was a little too soft though - more like a Portuguese bun than a crusty French one.
The Pork Banh Mi sandwich was AMAZING! The Pho was good also.but I subtracted a star because there weren't any bean sprouts with it: (and there needs to be more coriander as well.amazing restaurant though kudos
This was some really good food. Ordered a grilled pork with rice, an extra side of beef and a grilled pork banh mi. I did that expecting to have some leftovers for tomorrow but that didn't happen. I ate everything - was that good. Looking forward to ordering from here again.
I came to get some refreshments. I ordered the Mango green tea, and you can customize the level of the sweetness and ice. I asked for regular sweetness and less ice and the drink was too sweet. And I’m the kind of person that would drink condensed milk and that was too sweet for me. So if you’re not a fan of that kind of stuff make sure to ask for less sugar. Place doesn’t have dine-in or standing counter for eating. Food is simple and prices are very affordable.
Went to go try this place because a colleague of mone told me that there was place close by that opened up. I ordered my sandwich, lookin forward to trying it. The person that took my order, took my money and game me my change. The same person started preparing my sandwich. Thinking he was using utensils that maybe after he will change his gloves. He proceeded to grab out several buns from the toaster for other people's orders. He then started to stuff my sandwich with all the fixings. I told him after he never changed his gloves and no I didn't eat the sandwich. You guys are in the food industry. It should be in your top priority for cleanliness especially at these times and moments.
