Beef rib was fresh, with a lot of marble marking, very tender & juicy.
Lettice was fresh. The vegetable and sweet-and-sour carrot (appetizer) went well with the meat. A meat-only BBQ would have been too dry.
Beef & shrimp were fine.
Pork belly was super dry and greyish? ! Was that even eatable? ! This was very disappointing.
The snack appetizers were all way too salty. But the sweet-and-sour carrots were very nice and needed.
The beef-bone soup had no taste of beef.but was very useful as you can use it to de-salt meat that was way too salty.
Soft drink was reasonably cheap.
The little ice-cream at the end was a nice touch.
Service was excellent! The young waiters were friendly, patient (e.g. In explaining how to order), and efficient (e.g. In fulfilling every order). They knew what they were doing (e.g. Adjusting the fire), and they took the initiative to remind me that a 13%-tip had already added to the bill (to prevent me from paying double, but I voluntarily added an extra tip anyway.) They would be there when you needed something, but would not bother you otherwise. The service was the best part of the experience.
Including tax & tip, the dinner came to only $38.8 a person (35th Anniversary Special Discount)! Dinning at this place was a nice treat at an affordable price.
Korean Grill House is a fantastic spot for hosting parties or gatherings, thanks to its communal cooking environment that adds a unique & enjoyable twist to the dining experience.
The concept of cooking your own meal at the table is both entertaining & interactive. The variety of meat & vegetable options, along with items like beef broth & rice, ensures that there's something for every palate. The food is not only delicious but also leaves you feeling satisfyingly full, if not stuffed, by the end of the meal.
However, it's important to note that if you're someone who doesn't enjoy the hands-on cooking experience, this might not be the ideal concept for you.
In terms of the staff, every visit to Korean Grill House has been met with the warmth & friendliness of the team. While the communal cooking setup is part of the charm, it can sometimes lead to a bit of confusion in identifying your server or knowing who to connect with for any needs. Nonetheless, the overall experience has been great, offering a delightful and yummy dining adventure.
In summary, Korean Grill House is a top choice for those seeking a communal & interactive dining experience with a variety of tasty options. If you're up for some hands-on cooking & enjoy a friendly atmosphere, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit.
Updating my review once more, recently went there and the food was nice and fresh. Servers diligent in attending to your needs which has always been the case, especially May who remembers your exact order anytime you come in if you are a regular. Prices are always good. I do recommend that they have a process for dealing with complaints if they see them on reviews. However, they take your concerns seriously and are fast to remedy them. Once again one the best places for all you can eat
It is a Korean-style Chinese barbecue restaurant catering to non-Koreans or Chinese tastes. After all, you can't go beyond the original. First of all, Korean restaurants don't put several pieces of meat in plastic containers. And such Chinese tofu is not used in meat restaurants, and kimchi is not served in soy sauce wrappers. Furthermore, it is highly unlikely that fishy broth that throws away your appetite will be served as a side dish at a meat buffet restaurant. For this reason, I have the suspicion that this is not a Korean restaurant. Even though they sold soju and hung a picture of IU. I would not particularly recommend it to Koreans. Mango juice was okay.
The team worked in the evening shift on Dec19 did an amazing job, beyond my expectation. I would like to say thank to Connor and Mia because they work with passion and dedication. Strongly appreciated for their service!
This is amazing worth for your money, the staff every time I've been, I'd super cheerful and attentive, it's a great dining experience especially if you have guests from out of town.
A bit pricy but the food is very delicious. The chicken and lamb are a couple of my favorite meats to eat here. The spicy sprouts and potato are pretty good as well. One of my favorite Korean restaurants.
Not the best kbbq option out there. Currently they are only offering one price point for their ayce, which is not really worth it for the quality. The former late night prices were a huge plus point in choosing Korean Grill House over chako or gyubee. Now you're better off going elsewhere for better quality and more options for the same price.
This is the worst Korean restaurant my sister and I have ever been to. The food does not taste Korean, and they do not even have ssamjang (which is a staple for Korean BBQ). The side dishes looked and tasted like they were beginning to rot, and there was a piece of plastic in one of them as well. The rice was brown, dry, and cold as if it was cooked a week ago. The marinated meat also came soaked in a pool of blood and it immediately made us lose our appetites. We brought up our concerns to the server, and rather than being understanding, he became defensive. I was looking forward to eating here, but I was extremely disappointed.
Super experience. I like, but will not come back again, as its more about experience than about looking for unique flavour. Still, nice place and friendly stuff
Was headed to the Mirvish theater for a show and lucky enough to come across the Korean grill house. Covid procedures were handled well, restaurant was very clean and booths were separated with plexiglass. Server was very polite and quick to take our order. We did the all you can eat option. Portions were generous and arrived quickly once ordered. Food was good quality and delicious. Would definitely return.
Korean restaurant offering regular and buffet meals. I tried the unlimited bbq buffet. The mini grill at the table works great and they were prompt to refill when we finished items. Gratuities already included, so check first before paying duplicate tips.
First time eating at a Korean BBQ restaurant. But it won't be the last.
Ordered their special bibimbap and beef soup. Everything was just delicious - the bibimbap was hot and spicy, and the soup's broth was so good. The staff was very friendly. Cannot wait to come back.
It's my first time to eat at the Korean Grill House with my niece and my sister; I was so amazed of the food that they served. It's looks very classy and yummy food. I enjoyed grilling of the meat.
I ordered spicy squid bibimbap. Paid $20 to get cabbage fried rice still clumped together and mixed with only kimchi? No bean sprouts no zucchini. No side dishes as other Korean restaurants. Waste of my money and time.
The place is not bad however, the food and its staff is horrible. I asked samjang (a korean sauce) since the resto was named korean after all, but they don’t even know nor have it. The staff are not so nice too. Food is nevermind. I’ll never eat here, my korean friends doesn’t approve of it too.
OK food, but terrible service. Showed up for a date and was told we would have to sit shoulder to shoulder and not across because "Covid". Innocent me thought this was the rule for everyone. Sat down and looked around to find we were the only ones made to follow the rule. When politely requested a different table (coz its really difficult to grill if you are sitting on the same side), we were told everyone else has reservations so they can sit across from each other. We showed them our reservations and waitstaff discussed something among themselves and then gave us a different table. When we finished our meal, we were presented with the check with the tip INCLUDED. This is new to me, and it felt weird.
Great food but terrible service. Staff would not give us our table until all 7 members of our group arrived, staff did not offer the free lettuce - we had to ask about it, many of us wanted a second scoop of ice cream - but you can only have one.dont see why this is a rule.ice cream is cheap. Recommend if you have never been to Korean BBQ, but otherwise do not recommend as not worth it.
Not too bad price is match with the service but it is not okay they are adding tip to the bill? ! They are making it mandatory and it should not be like that. I always giving tip but it should be according to the service otherwise servers start to not care about customers because they are getting the tip anyway.
I don’t event know where to begin. I have been going to Korean bbq for nearly 7 years and this place had the best meat hands down! They staff are always nice and easy to give u more! Thank you for your services. I do believe though, one thing to improve your services would be to have a 10% off the bill if costumer are paying cash, as most places do this.
Disappointed tasty.bad service. I have never ever see any restaurant would take their napkins back straight from customer's table while we still on that table.good for you korean grill, you could save pennies! pork bone soup was one of their best, but not anymore since they use rotten cabbages.poor quality vegetables might save your penny for now, keep doing it if you like. I'm not coming anyway.
I've had pork bone soup at other places but theirs was the best by far. They were about to close but didn't say no to our order. I'm going to try other stuff on their menu soon.
[QUEEN ST W LOCATION] It was okay. The food was decent just that we had to sit outside in the cold and when we couldn't finish everything and they denied us containers. I get that its all you can eat but come on, its literally COVID you can't force people to finish their food out in the cold. Just stop offering AYCE then. Not really worth $40 to be honest (they pre-charge you gratuity).
I celebrated my PhD today in this great place. I am glad to say that we passed a outstanding evening and the venue was no doubt the reason for that outstanding evening. The team helped in a splendid way, the meals were tasty and my guests were so delighted. We shall no dout return for more celebrations. Thank you very much.
The current take out deal is amazing. For the low price of $7 for bbq meat and an extra dollar for a drink it is bang for your buck! A good portion of meat, rice and kimchi. If you crave ayce kbbq you can't go wrong.
I visit this unique place many times since I like the special air that is characterizes this place. The crew is exceptionally cordial and professional. The service is certainly quick. Most important, the food they cook is highly distinguished. I visited often and I was never disappointed. The pay is modest. I suggest this place to my friends and family.
This place is my number one site. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this place.when I I need a good meal, this restaurant comes first to my head.very good and varied food and a large list of dishes.generous staff, and agreeable atmosphere. Not less important, the expence is modest. I recommend this place with great pleasure.
Love this place been going here for about 5 years love the beef ribs, salmon, not sure what the thinly cut beef is called but it's bomb all you can eat $$. One on my fav restaurants. If you don't live downtown and have to drive parking is free after 9pm which is when I go.
Great location for family and friends to eat! I mostly liked how their service is very good and say you want something a certain way they are willing to accommodate your needs. I went with a group of friends and the food was amazing, fast service, very clean and we had friendly server. I'll be coming back!
I won't visit this restaurant again. We ordered several dishes, including bibimbop. The side dishes were not very good, and the bibimbop was oily primarily.
Awesome all you can eat place for a great price. Can't go wrong going as a group during lunch. They have good noodle bowl too. This, however, is not real authentic Korean BBQ. Still highly recommend!
Let me preface this with the fact that I don't write reviews. Ever. But my experience here was so awful that I havE decided to start now.
ABSOLUTE WORST RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE EVER
My friend and asked for the 'Night Own Special' at the Queen Street location, and our server (I think he's name was Xuan) asked us if we wanted shrimp and lamb as well. We asked if they were included in the late night price, and he told us it was. Throughout our meal, the service was actually above average, and I was prepared to tip well, but when they brought us our bill, it was nearly $30 higher than we had anticipated. Our server insisted that we ordered the 'full priced' meal including shrimp and lamb, which is why we were charged $15 extra each. I politely informed them that they had told us it was all included in the late night price, and that we would not have ordered the extra food if we had known we would be charged significantly more (we made 1 order of the shrimp and lamb each).
We were told what the price was, and we should not have been charged for anything else.
After speaking politely with the server AND supervisor for over half an hour, we still had not reached an agreement. They kept accusing us that we had made the mistake of ordering, even though he explicitly told us that the price was lower. We did not look at the menu, and we did not have any second thoughts about the price, because we were told it was all included in the Night Owl Special.
We managed to convince the supervisor to lower the price and meet in the middle, but he was still unwilling to give us the price they had told us we were originally going to pay. As we were about to pay, the server came and whispered something in the supervisor's ear, which prompted him to ask if we had "had any beers before coming tonight". HOW RUDE! He claimed that our breath smelled like alcohol, which is a blatant lie, since we had not drank at all that evening, and we had consumed nothing other than water while we were there.
ON TOP OF ALL THIS, I was still forced to tip this rude and disrespectful server because of the included service charge on the bill. I am humiliated, and amazed at how rude both these individuals were.
I am never coming back to Korean Grill House, and I am telling everyone I can to avoid this establishment. Absolutely appalled. I would give zero stars if I could.
Classic KBBQ, but was given a auto gratuity during weekdays lunch with two people. Was not stated anywhere, beware that the machine prompts further timing past their autograd.
Bad service - shoving people near the entrance - waited 30min for food -feels cramped when sitting (Tables too close together) - bathroom are dirty like dust and I had to ask for toilet paper Sorry too many problems for me
1. When I was asking the questions about the food, the server was impatient. 2. They close at 12am. At 11.50pm,they told me I have to leave the restaurant in 5 minutes but i didn't even finish my food. 3. The server bring me the wrong bills. 4. During eating the food, the server just came to my table to check how much food I still have around 11.35pm as they need to close at 12am. I just felt uncomfortable because somebody was checking how fast I eat.
Went for dinner with a group of four people.service was good food was good but near the end of our meal a member of my group found that she was chewing on glass that had somehow made it into our food. We aren't really the group to complain but we did let the server know who seemed to be somewhat shocked and reported it to the manager.the manager came over and didnt really know what to say. He offered a partial discount which ended up being 3 dollars on where he seemed to think the glass came from. I did not think this made up for the fact that someone found glass in their mouth. I would have liked to see this handled better and not brushed off like it wasn't a big deal.
Great social atmosphere.great food.all ypu can eat assortment of various marinated meat from fish to korean short ribs! Call ahead to reserve because at peak times it gets really busy.well worth it!
K grill is good. I like it but not the service. One, if you write your order correctly, you'll get majority of the meat you asked, but when it comes to getting rice or side dishes, they don't come. I don't understand. Especially when I asked for an extra rice bowl, they told me to write it down, I said okay. I did. But apparently I asked for 6 for the group I came with and was given 3. I asked the waiter again can I have an extra rice bowl, with attitude I was told to write it on the paper but specifically I wrote 6 clearly. Something I do not understand why I'm getting attitude and I didn't want to argue. It is something small to ask, I don't know why there was a problem. Other then that, things come fast and specific staff are nice not all.
This restaurant is NOT Korean anymore! It should be called as Chinese Grill House. I saw lots of changes taken over at this restaurant at my visit yesterday in a while. I missed the taste of the quality meat and veggies and good services to enjoy BBQing inside with colleagues after work. However, the food composition and the quality of meat were different, the noise of construction next to the tables of customers who were not informed of their repair disturbed our pleasurable eating, a 13% tip is already included in the tab now, $3 charge per person for veggies that didn't include much with huge pieces of pineapples that is not a vegetable, and I figure they set the limit of time to stay as 1.5 hours. I don't think I'm going to visit this place again. It used to be a nice place to celebrate special occasions but it's NOT the same any more.
