Jason was so welcoming and friendly. Honestly felt like family. Wordclass service from the owner and his staff. This will be the only place I come to when I am in Korea town. Jason you were wonderful, I’m glad we share the same birthday! I wish you a happy belated birthday. The food was amazing!

The good:
- Jajangmyeon (black bean) noodles: the best one I've had in Toronto so far in terms of sauce flavour. Perfectly seasoned; a lot of depth. Comes with yellow pickles, crunchy spicy cucumber, bean sprouts, and kimchi. 5/5.

- Sesame vinegar salad: a small side dish given at the beginning. Tart and flavourful sauce with crunchy cabbage and lettuce. 5/5.

- Mandu (fried dumplings) : juicy pork, seasoned well. I like dipping it in the other dish's - tteokbokki (simmered rice cake) - sauce. 4/5.

Tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) : a bit too sour for me. The glazed apple slices, with their natural sweetness, countered the sourness nicely. The flour coating has a nice chewy texture. Pair with the jajangmyeon. 3.5/5.

- Lively, warm atmosphere.

- Attentive, warm, friendly owners who check in on you.

- Good service.

- Interior design of wood and paper screen separated rooms; we got our own little booth.

The okays:
- Tteokbokki (simmered rice cakes) : the sauce is a bit salty and not the best I've tried in Toronto so far. The rice cakes were also not at the degree of softness I enjoy. 3/5.

- Seafood pancake (haemuljeon) : there were some areas at the bottom where it was burnt. Not the best I've tried in Toronto as well. 2.5/5.

If people around me ask to me, "Where is the most delicious Korean restaurant? "
I strongly recommend this restaurant as the best. I've already visited here many times. The service of all the servers is always great and they take care of their customers carefully. Also, the owner always greets customers with a smile. Cold noodles, kimchi fried rice, and my favorite pork belly bbq were really delicious. I'm going to visit again

Incredible experience! The customer service is top notch! It was our first time here, and they welcomed us with such love, care, and respect! Food was delicious, portions were generous, staff was kind, and the service was quick! The owner was so down to earth and you can tell he loves what he does, and works incredibly hard to keep his mothers dream alive! A true He made us feel as if we were in his family home, and it made for such a great experience! There’s a reason why they’ve been in the biz for 45+ years!

The food was delicious and relatively cheap and it is within walking distance of where we were going for a concert, namely Durango at the alliance Française which also was excellent. A great night out.

The owner was very kind to my party of 8 + a baby. He saw me walking around with my 9 month old baby while the rest of the party was eating and he asked if he could pack me some extra food to take home. He checked on us several times to make sure our table was happy. One small thing: Our server did take 25 min to take our order after I had flagged him down. He was understandably busy but should have checked on us to tell us he’d be a few minutes. Overall great food, hospitality, atmosphere. Would recommend to family and friends!

Korean Village is an OG in the foodie town that is Toronto. The food is the most authentic I've had since living in Korea. Japchae (glass noodles) bibimbab and kalbi ribs are my recommendation. I love the tribute wall showcasing the 45 year history, and the family legacy. 5 stars all around!

My friend and I came here for a quick bite last night a few minutes before last call, and everyone was so accommodating. We received such amazing customer service from each of the staff, and the owner himself. On top of that, the food was AMAZING. I’m going to tell all my friends and family about this place!

While the atmosphere was bustling and the food tast enough, the five star service others rave about was not on display from our perspective. The service was slow, inattentive, non informative and frankly none of us were impressed. And Jason's I di d not visit our table. We had a healthy bill and have been treated a. Don't think we will be back

Amazing Customer service, excellent attention and care. Food was delicious, the miso soup was amazing and the grilled meats were well seasoned. Sides were good and beansprouts were tasty. (I usually hate beansprouts) the fried dumplings were also very very good. Food was a 4/5 but the exceptional service brings it up a notch. Bathrooms were clean and hostess and waitstaff were very courteous.

The food is good and the prices for it are reasonable. The staff (which i would assume is the owner?) that served us was also really helpful and nice.

When I first read all the reviews, it seemed like everyone talked about the service and Jason’s welcoming attitude. And all the reviews were right! Jason and the staff were welcoming, so friendly and kind. On top of the amazing service, the food was great. I loved their Japchae and Bulgogi. So yummy

Had the most incredible experience tonight with my family. J has always made sure the entire Korean Village experience is the same for whoever I may be coming by with! Service is great, the food is extremely good & the love in this restaurant is unmatched. Would recommend this place to anyone, anytime.

I got lured into this restaurant because the interior looked like an authentic traditional korean house. We were also starving so we unwillingly settled for this restaurant. The first thing we noticed was practically 85% of their guests were non asians or korean which is not what we're used to at other korean restaurants we frequent! But we can't really hold that against them and low key hoped that it wasn't an indication of something else! We were kind of weirded out by how good the service was here, again not something we were used to and im not complaining but it's just the service was so good that it almost felt like they were catering to tourists or something. The owner/manager would small talk with their customers, ask about their family/day, etc.which again was not what we're used to at ANY asian restaurant. Okay now the food. Their prices here are slightly higher than other korean restaurants but the quality and taste was not better at all. In fact, a lot worse! My husband ordered the most basic pork bone soup and said it was tasteless.normally PBS has a reddish tint to the broth but this one was just brown with a bit of red powder on top. I would not come here again. The food was not authentic and much more expensive. The service was indeed great though.

We ended up leaving unsatisfied and walked down the street to Jin Dal Lae where the food was exponentially better. The interior was nothing fancy but food was so much bettter!

Definitely love the place and i'm going back with my family again. I am a meat and barbecue lover and for me the best barbecue place I have been so far. The crew and the owner was very accommodating and helpful. We always have a good time every time we visit the place. Thank you!

FOOD POISONING.
I was the first one hit.then my 3 year old.then my my 4 year old.then my husband.
I felt horrible but not as horrible as my kids. Poor little ones were vomitting and diarrhea stricken.
When i went to their ladies room, i saw from the third stall that someone had already been there with my same problem.
Tak tsk. I should have complained when i was there about 2 weeks ago.

My family and I were trying to find some Korean to eat. The first place we went to was unfortunately closed and then we tried to go to a 2nd place and they didn't accept vaccine papers from outside of Canada. We were lucky because Korean Village Restaurant accepted us with open arms. They made sure that we didn't have any allergies and were happy to accommodate our food choices. They made us feel like we're old friends visiting their house. The food was so good I forgot to take pictures. Will ask my family if they got some.

Heard good things and decided to check it out - amazing experience and very good food. The owner is the nicest man you'll meet; he greets you, seats you and checks on you often with conversation. Definitely coming back

This restaurant is hands down the best I've been to in a while. The customer service is over the moon. All the staff are super nice and accommodating. The owner Jason is attentive to all the customers. He greets everyone equally and loves to get to know them. He’s fluent in different languages’ hellos and goodbyes. I am a Muslim and he made sure there was no cross contamination of alcohol or pork with my food, which I was really touched by and appreciated. On top of that, the food was absolutely delicious (this was my third visit). While I was there, Jason told my friend and I about his mother and I can rightfully say that he has done his mother proud. I will definitely go back and 110% recommend everyone to go visit.

Amazing experience! The owner Jason took time to come to our table to talk and thank us for coming. He even ended up bringing us a special treat on the house! Chris was our server and he was very kind and kept laughter at the table. I felt SO welcomed. This was hands down my favorite dining experience I had while visiting Toronto!

Korean village has the best hospitality of any restaurant in the city. Jay goes above and beyond to take care of everyone. Korean Village not only has amazing hospitality but amazing food as well!

I was in Toronto last week meeting a bunch of my friends (it was around 20 of us) and It was hard to find a place in the pandemic situation to house all of us. We stumbled across this place and they managed to fit us together. It was one of the most memorable times I've had my entire trip! I had amazing food, great atmosphere, an amazing host (thank you so much for making our precious time together so much more special) and free walnut cakes! I will never forget the warm time I spent there and I will make sure to come back every time I'm in Toronto!

It’s rare I write reviews these days, but I couldn’t bring myself not to.

Everybody at our table loved their food, and my bibimbap was the best I’ve had outside of Korea.

The main reason for the review is Jason. I haven’t seen service like his in Toronto. He made us feel like esteemed guests and instantly connected with us through speaking the same language as my friends and telling us about the history of the restaurant.

I can’t wait for my next visit.

Just had an exceptional meal here. The waitstaff and owners took the time to make sure each customer was happy and satisfied with their meal and experience. Genuinely the best Korean food I’ve had, plus outstanding customer service. Will definitely be back soon.

If I could give this restaurant 11 stars out of 5 I would. I’ve never had a better restaurant experience anywhere in the world in my entire life. The food was incredible and the service was outstanding. The owner was so incredibly warm and friendly. He was so welcoming and appreciative of our business and very clearly extremely passionate about his food and restaurant. I would come back to Toronto again just to come to this restaurant.

I absolutely love Korean Village Restaurant. I believe, in my opinion, that it is the best Korean restaurant in Toronto. Their kalbi is amazing and their jajangmyeon as well. Moreover, the staff is amazing and the owner takes the time to make us feel at home. I definitely highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

I cannot imagine a better place for authentic Korean food that comforts the soul. It literally tastes like it's made with love! My family has been going there for years and it has never failed to give us the most memorable nights. Jason, Jenifer, and Mama have put so much love into this place, and it shows. Delicious food, the absolute best staff, the greatest space filled with mementos, oh and DELICIOUS FOOD!

Excellent Korean restaurant with a nice atmosphere. What really set this place apart for me from the other Korean restaurants is that the staff are very friendly and caring. The owner/co-owner came and had a small conversation with me and my girlfriend. Definitely choosing this place over the many other ones in the area was worth it.

Probably one of the best Korean restaurants in all of Toronto! I know that's a big statement being a Korean Canadian. You have to check it out to believe me. Quality of food, service, ambience. They've been around downtown Korean town for a long time for a reason! The owner has had tons of movie starts and celebrities dine at her restaurant, look at the photo gallery on the wall to prove it. Check it out. You won't be disappointed!

Not quite the tabletop Korean BBQ we were expecting, for good reason. We ordered an item that had a little bit of everything on the tabletop grilling section: beef, pork, chicken, and seafood. The owner himself came to the table to greet is, tell a few jokes, and talk about his family and restaurant. While he did, he placed the food on the grill, explained the marinading process, and offered us pieces when it was cooked. His face would light up every time he would introduce a new meat and talk about the recipe or preparation. You really do feel like family when you eat here.

The food and service were amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone. I did find this place to be abit expensive though.

Awesome food hands down! Ordered the Korean barbeque. Wanted to take picture but the food smelled soooooooooo good that I completely forgot to take the pictures. Will go again and again and again. Recommended for anyone who wants to try Korean barbeque for the first time.

One of the most fun dining experiences I've had in a long time. Had dinner here just the other day along with 11 others for my friends birthday. Pricing was fair, affordable, and the food tasted great. Nothing mind blowing but great quality for the price and was quite filling. What really made the experience enjoyable was due to the head of the shop, Jay. An enthusiastic, super outgoing, and friendly guy who guided us through the menu and shared many of his experiences in his many years helping his mother run the place. He also gave us free appetizers and desert. I look forward to coming back here and I recommend it for everyone who's never been.

Big selection, good prices and delicious! The restaurant is very large, good for big lunch groups and the staff is always helpful.

The food was simply mesmerizing! Really authentic Korean samgyupsal, the flavor was amazing and the quality. Cannot describe how good it was! The owner is terrific, speaks like 6 languages and is so friendly. We came from Montreal and he started talking in French, my boyfriend is Ukrainian and he was able to distinguish Russian accent from Ukrainian accent! The waiter Leo, or MIn Woo was so nice. He explained everything to my friends who never had Korean BBQ! Don't look at the comment below, this was the most satisfying culinary experience of my life. All that for a ridiculously low price!

Love this place, my wife and I have been here few times and the food is always really good. Staff is friendly and the interior is interesting (: Always great service and food.

Alert! Once was the 'friendly owner with mama's homemade hot sauce and free ice-cream' place, but NOT anymore!

We had ignorant Korean mama servers and MANDATORY 13% tips included for a group of 3 for no reason. Why? We were gonna give tips anyways. We ordered about $120 of food without tax.

What happened to this place and its owner? It changed so drastically. It was a shame that I recommended this place to my friends. Experience dropped from 5 star to 1 star.

Will NOT recommend to anyone who cares about his/her dining experience.

Great service. Excellent food! Our waiter was very friendly and accommodating. Bulgogi and Jap Chae were both splendid! Lollipops and the end of the meal were also pretty darn good:)

Always a good meal at Korean Village Restaurant. They truly care about your business and are very attentive to your table. I recommend a Korean hot stone bowl as they're tasty and filling with good value. They also have really good lunch time specials!

They're always SO nice! And I mean GENUINLY nice! Love them; love thier food! Totally an old found favourite.

The food was good but terrible service from a chubby waitress. No smiling, no coming back to check if everything was going ok, just a grumpy waitress.

This place was terrible, they treated myself (a black woman) and my friend with no respect.
The woman at the front did not attend to us the same way she did her other customers, she seated us in a corner, and barely came to our table. We ordered 10 mintues after being seated and when our meal came (15 mins later) no one came to ask us how was it or if we needed anything else.

The restaurant was not packed, there were about 4 other tables beside our own. Varying from couples to groups of 3 or 4.

Due to the lack of communication and appreciation of attending the restaurant my friend chose not to tip more than the bill, telling her keep the change.

This woman was bold enough to tell my friend if he couldn't leave a better tip it was best "NOT TO LEAVE" one at all. The iron stomach on this woman.

The service was trash and her attitude lacked the ability of keeping her customers for a next time.

Seeing all the good reviews, I was looking forward to try this place.
The side dishes were bad (mushy kimchi, tasteless beansprouts,)
The bulgogi didn't have much taste and the meat was chewy.
The pork bone soup wasn't tasty either. The meat wasn't tender and the potatoes seemed old
Two positive things though:
- the kalbi was ok
- the young tall waitress we had was very helpful.
. Still not enough to deserve more than 2 stars.
My advice: give a try to one of the many other restaurant around the area.

Overrated and pricey. Like many of the faded pictures of obscure celebrities from the 90s on their walls this place has been left behind by the newer and better Korean restaurants in the neighbourhood. The menu is too large. Some choices of food are good but most closer to bland. My chirashi had so much garlic it made me sick. The fish wasn't the freshest but ok. It was expensive. I really love the plants but it smells a bit musky. The hostess was nice enough.
