Kos Cafe & Restaurant

My partner was excited to take me to this restaurant, so my expectations were high.

Firstly, coffee was not good; it had a strange saltiness to it. Secondly, I ordered pancakes with a side of bacon. The pancakes were, dry, flat and crumbly. My side of bacon didn’t arrive to table, so we eventually told the waitress to forget about it. When we got our bills the waitress charged for the side of bacon we didn’t receive. We told her we wouldn’t be paying for it, so she removed it from the bill. She was very nice, at least.

Lastly, the restaurant is poorly maintained, which I could overlook if the quality of the food and service made up for it. Unfortunately, this isn’t the case here. Would not recommend.

Large tasty diner-style breakfasts with piles of real home fries & fresh side salads served by cheerful staff. Only the coffee is disappointing.

To paraphrase Popeye The Sailor Man "It is what it is and that's all what it is! " - and it's a perfect example of what it is. It's a utility grade neighbourhood diner that you drop in on for a nosh. Nothing to write to the Michelin Restaurant Guide about; and nothing to complain about. Standard fare (although a lot more egg dishes than you usually see) correctly made. More than fair prices as the portions are quite on the Large side.

When I was there, even though the place was pretty busy, the service was fast, accurate, and courteous - a good trick since there's a big shortage of wait staff in the city so it must be a good place to work. The big patio must be a joy in the summer months.

Super pleasantly surprised. I stopped here with my family after a visit to Casa Loma, and everyone including me loved the food. Compliments to the chef and staff!

The inside isn't much to look at but the friendly and attentive service and the generous portions of delicious food more than make up for the decor.

I had a bacon cheeseburger and it kept me going for the rest of the day, it was so filling (in a good way). Everyone in my party (wife, daughter, and parents) thoroughly enjoyed our meals.

They have a large patio area, and had the weather been pleasant, this would have been a great sitting area.

Our server was excellent and the owners make you feel welcome.

We don't live in Toronto but we will definitely return when we find ourselves in the area again.

Good place to visit. Ugly furniture. Need some renovation, but; good breakfast we had. Priceses are moderate. Good coffee, home fries and omlet! Waffles too:)

You can't get more genuine and loving care from another spot like Kos. They were the first place I visited when I moved to the area and have been coming back for brunches and bites for the last two years. The most memorable and favourite memory of the owners has to be during COVID when an item I always ordered wasn't on the new menu anymore. I was a little disappointed but when the owner came by to take my order, she knew exactly how to make it by memory I've taken so many friends and family here to experience the same kindness and great food ever since, thank you guys for all you do!

Fast and friendly service, great prices, good food, great patio. Definitely a bit of a hidden gem.

We went here to eat dinner because we were visiting casa loma, it seemed like a good place to try but apparently we were wrong, my mother has a garlic allergy and the first thing we said when the waiter came to us was that she had a garlic allergy. We order the food and ask for mayo on the side. When we get our food we first make sure to check my mother’s food and guess what? There was a sauce that had garlic in it so i switch my burger with my mother’s because her burger was the only one with the sauce. After my mother takes one bite out of the burger and says that she tastes garlic, we ask the owner and the chef for what they put it it and they said salt, but the salt was red and last time I checked, salt isn’t usually red. We asked to see the container with the salt they used and the second ingredient in it was garlic. And turns out the fry’s we ate with the burger also had garlic in it, so now my mother is sick for the entire week and she can’t work (it’s a non life threatening allergy but still a serious one). I would not go to this restaurant if you have an allergy and we’re never going to the restaurant again. Oh, did I mention the owner was sleeping on the job?

If you are looking for a hearty and rich breakfast in Toronto, you will find it here. We were guests twice and both times we were really very satisfied. Very nice service and delicious food. We recommend!

I had driven by this place so many times, but my wife convinced me to have breakfast with her there last Saturday. Pet-friendly was great, as we have a little dog, and they brought water for him. My wife's BLT was great, my omelette was terrific, and the homefries could have been the best I've had! Plus, the server Adam was congenial! Will be back!

Gone way down hill. Advertise charcoal bbq and didnt use it. When i asked i got a shrug and a sorry. Never going back

Food was great and tasty. It was the service (or lack of) that was the true negative. I cleaned my own table, and it would have been nice for the server to come by and ask if we needed a refill or just checked.

Love their patio, the nicest staff, excellent diner breakfast! All-day too. Love a banquet burger here. We go here all times of the day and have a great time every time
