4.5, just because no such as perfect. I love the friendly service. Food: quite authentic and taste good. Love serving plates and all the details. Comparing the variety of menus, this restaurant has few items hard to come by in other restaurant. Beef tartar bibimbop, samgaetang (ultimate K chicken soup), makchang which is available in small portion. Definitely a restaurant to visit again and again.

Very pricey for the portion sizes and quality compared to other places. For reference, my kimchi fried rice was $20 (before tax and tips), which is more than any Korean restaurant I've tried downtown.

Many of the items were lacking flavour entirely, such as the chicken soup (which just murky water with some scallions in it) and some of the side dishes. There is table salt available but that's not something anyone should have to do if eating out at a restaurant.

One of our party wanted to get the beef removed from a tofu soup dish to make it vegetarian and they said they couldn't do that. I don't understand why, as a dish cooked in a restaurant, it was not possible to fulfill this kind of request.

I would not return here, nor recommend this place for anyone looking for Korean food in the area.

Hearty authentic Korean food. It’s just perfect and it always hits the spot. Side dishes are outstanding and service is great too.

The food is very close to real authentic Korean home cooking. Yanggomtang (beef soup) is such a heartwarming dish without strong seasoning. The service is very good as well. Never disappoint!

Great food; tasty and neat presentation. The current male server is probably the friendliest one I've seen in awhile. I've been to Sheppard location once but mostly this original one; both seems to be the same in terms of food. As a Korean, there aren't many Korean joints at all to recommend in Toronto as I find most of the places simply don't offer good Korean food to represent but I would take my friends here. They've expanded their menu significantly; I haven't tried new ones yet.

Service was good. Food was not to our liking. I came with my family. Soup ordered was bland, rice was a bit too spicy, but I guess to each their own.
Side dishes were good and staff were friendly.

First time ask a dol sot bibimbap take out. Finally I got the cold raw food. Even the raw beef. Question, is it dol sot bibimbap? And before order I already ask it is hot or not. If they tell me take out it is cold. I won't order it.

Great tasting Korean food. Though the price is a bit high, you will eat great tasting authentic Korean food.

Had their special take out 12.99 came to 14.89 or something like that. The amount of food it came with was okay, I was expecting a little more. Their other main dishes were a little on the pricy side, but what do you expect this food is hard to make and takes time. I appreciate the staff for helping me choose what to have for my first time. I had the kimchi rice it was really ferment so if you like that go ahead. I give that a 7/10 would come again to try their squid.

Still upset they give small.portion soup charger same price other place same owner.only little meat & nodded cost 20 $$$ will never come back to this store. Rather go far Kosam on Young.

Last week I bean same restaurants on Young & Sheppard order same boeuf soup.it taste better more meat big bowl.today I went to store at Leslie. Really disappointed small bowl few meat less nodded. I shoud take pictures. I show them last week I went same Kosam I have pictures.so better go on Yong Kosam.not Leslice. Kosam.

Been there three times now. I think for two people, it is best to order two mains and an appetizer. For three people, three mains will suffice. KoSam has two locations in North York and this location doesn't served Cheese Tonkatsu and certain fried chicken unlike their location on Yonge street but good thing is, there is a parking lot and free parking.

I was debating whether to go there or a new fried chicken place but since it was cold and windy that day, I felt like having some comfort food. Chicken Ginseng is one of their signature dish but the original tasted bland and it shouldn't be because the soup is supposed to be delicious and full of flavor so strongly suggest to spend a little extra and go for the options such as green tea soup or perilla seeds etc. For the rice, it seems they only have brown or white rice. I expected them to offer purple rice. Also, they do not offer PBS.

There is a Tonkatsu combo that comes with salad, soup and rice but the rice portion is so small on the plate that they should consider serving the rice in a separate bowl.

I felt my lunch experience was better because the Tonkatsu wasn't as overfried. Also, I don't think they change the oil for their dinner service. I would prefer to visit them during lunch over dinner.

Service was great and the waitresses will come up and ask you if you want a refill of the banchan. Funny thing is each time I go to this place, the rest of the customers are mostly Chinese.

If dining in is not an option, they do have takeout specials and is less expensive than dine-in.

STIR-FRIED food full of onion, meat portion are very small.
Teeokguk, rice cake in soup taste awful, too soft.rice cake soak in soup for certain time before cook/serve.

Worst service, barely remember to serve water.even we call waitress several times.
It wasn't a busy day.

DO NOT GO. The worst Korean food ever. I had their special kosam samgyetang and it was so bland. I couldn’t finish it but wanted to bring it home. Accidentally left it at the restaurant but realized that on my way home. I called the restaurant 10 minutes after leaving the place thinking I can go pick it up but they lied and told me nothing was left behind then hung up on me. The SERVICE was absolutely horrible and the waiter+waitress was just talking amongst themselves when we were the only guests in the restaurant. I used to go to the Shepard location quite often but because of this horrible service I will never come here again.

My wife and I have been here a couple times, their price is very reasonable and food tastes surprisingly good. Highly recommended.

I am here in Toronto for one week, looking for long-term accommodation near the area, which is the restaurant location. Today is Valentine's Day and passing by here, I decided to walk in for my dinner even I'm alone. The waitresses are professional as hospitality staff, as the Ontario discipline during the pandemic, they enquired about vaccine passport. Meanwhile, the dishes are come up so quickly, can you believe that all the appetizers are complimentary and even you want more after you finish.
The special seol lenog tang is rehabilitating my emotions as in the harshest Winter here, especially when I must study hard as well as I can. Consider that every International student must have been feeling alone in an unfamiliar country, but sometimes maybe just a soup such as here supply can make you feel like back the home.

My partner and I live nearby (moved to the area a year ago) and we get takeout from Kosam at least once per month. The food is always fresh, delicious, and so. Comforting. Also, their selection of little pickles / salads that come with many of the mains are wonderful. My favourite are the little dried fish in a hot and sweet sauce. We regularly get the beef bulgogi takeout special and the vegetarian bibimbap.

Editing to suggest to the restaurant that they consider adding a vegetarian option to their takeout special. That would be awesome.

This location always stays on top of their quality and taste. Never really had a bad experience with this restaurant. Good quality food. Enjoyed it everytime. Definitely recommend!

The place serves large dishes and for affordable prices.friendly staff. I recommend this place.

The foods were so so. Staffs were very kind and helpful!

The only one thing is I would like to suggest that they should add more appetizers with cheaper price and smaller amount of foods.

Some items on the menu are only available at yonge and sheppard location, any fried chicken and cheese tonkatsu.
Food was average. I ordered the dol sot koryo bibimbap, which comes with assorted vegetables, york and ground beef. I couldn't believe how little proteins they sprinkled on top, the ground beef was so tiny that I almost thought it was sesame. I will never come back to this location. The portion is disappointing for the amount of money you're paying.

Food is crazy fresh, good sides, and excellence service. Plus they have matching bowls and cutlery if that matters.

There's only one word to describe the people that run this location: cheap.

From the small portions of side dishes, to the laughably salad looking bulgogi beef, I'm not sure how this place is able to attract any return customers.

The bulgogi beef in this photo was $21. There's more vegetables than beef! This looks more like a bulgogi salad than a bulgogi beef.how is that acceptable?
The prices here are steep, but I'm totally ok with paying more for good quality food. However, this plate of cabbage in straight up disrespectful. How do you bring yourself to serve a dish called "bulgogi beef", put in more veggies than meat, and sell it for $21?

I really wanted to like this place, but I'm left feeling both disappointed and disrespected as a customer. The waitress did her best at least, but im sure she has a tough time dealing with the customers that also feel disrespected by their portion.

Overall, I would recommend you avoid this place as everything is just run way way too cheap. There's a lot of better Korean alternatives out there where you won't pay $21 for a plate of cabbage.

Ordered the Seol Leong Tang (beef bone-based broth) and their take-out special O Jing Eo (Spicy Squid) Dupbap. No side dishes are given, so don't expect any.

Seol Leong Tang, smells great, however, FLAVOURLESS, literally. It's just drinking hot water. The beef brisket slices are extremely tough and dry. There's suppose to be knee cartilage in this as well, and only a single small piece was found.

O Jing Eo (Spicy Squid) Dupbap, also quite FLAVOURLESS, but has slight bit more taste than Seol Leong Tang. This was very unexpected because this is clearly cooked with the spicy red pepper paste, which should explode taste buds of sodium rich, spicy and peppery flavour. This does not, except only feel the heat. The dressing on the cabbage salad included in the same bowl is also FLAVOURLESS.

I certainly enjoyed the food and customer service, excellent area nearby to my residence. The workers are always friendly. I highly recommend this place.

I tried their samgyetang (chicken soup) and Dak-bokkeum-tang. It was really good.above average! Definitely recommend if you wanna have really good korean food.i’ll go back again to get those two soon!

They give you a whole bunch of side dishes, that's nice. But they mistranslated Gom Tang (i.e. Beef Bone Soup) to 猪骨汤 (ie. Pork Bone Soup, or Gamja-tang) in Chinese. The correct translation for Gom Tang in Chinese should be "牛骨汤" instead.
This has caused me to order the wrong item (I ordered dish G2 and was expecting Pork Bone Soup), Pork Bone Soup is spicy but Beef Bone Soup is very plain, that's a huge difference (aside from being different meat).

I simply liked their food. I always get fantastic service there. The place is well organised and the workers are always nice. Highly recommended.

Vegetarian bibimbap was good, wish we had it in a hot stone bowl but because of Covid that’s not possible. I had the spicy rice cake. Wish it was more on the dry side and less soup based but I think that’s how the dish is made. Overall, good choice for takeout.

This site is my first choice site. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to that place.everytime I I need a fair meal, this restaurant comes straight to my head.very good and diverse food and a large menu.courteous crew, and pleasant spirit. And very important, the expence is decent. I tell about this restaurant with no hesitation.

This was one of my go-to Korean restaurants before COVID. I really missed their Samgyetang, so I ordered as a take-out. Their Samgyetang was okay for the price, but the side dishes were very disappointing. It almost looked like they were leftover from another table or something.

Tried this spot in the past with my friend and I am hooked ever since. I like the great mood and delightful dishes and beverages. Fantastic work.

This spot is one of my favorites! Reasonable pricing, big portions and the staff are regularly very kind.

We were greeted warmly on a cold afternoon and offered a seat further from the window since it was so chilly out that day. The restaurant was quite busy with many customers when we got there.

We debated between a few options but ended up ordering the spicy pork dubap and dumplings soup. I liked that the side dishes were different from other Korean restaurants. I rarely see the dried fishies and really like those so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw them.

Maybe I haven't been to that many Korean restaurants in Toronto but I don't often see spicy pork on the menu and that's one of my favourite Korean dishes. This one was just like I had in Korea. We didn't realize that there was a ton of rice cakes with the dumplings. You will definitely fill up the large dumplings, the rice cakes and the soup. The soup may seem a little bland but the server let us know there's salt and pepper on the table so that you can adjust the taste yourself. I found that with having the spicy pork this was a nice way to neutralize the amount of spice from the pork.

I'll be back to try other dishes.

Costumer service quality is low. For some reason you get ignored because they dont seem to understand english and spend no effort to ask you again when they dont get the question. We where over charged due to extras that is NOT mentioned in the menu and obviously waitresses cant explain.

Cleanliness of the food is questionable. Me and a partner had pains in our stomach after eating. Those with sensitive stomach, best to avoid.

Great selection of food, I loved their seafood pancake. Fairly priced dishes, side dishes were delicious and of great variety. I ordered the Bulgogi, I found the rice to meat ratio was off (I definitely needed more rice) but it was delicious. Service was good, I got to the restaurant at 6: 30 and it wasnt too busy, but by 7: 15 there were almost no seats available.

A small tiny cosy place great for 2 to 4 person gathering. Yummy chicken soup and seafood pancake. Friendly service and authenic.

The Ginseng chicken was very good, everything else was ordinary. Go if you want to try the Ginseng chicken, otherwise pass.

I had a wonderful experience in this place. We loved the superb ambience and the meals. The staff were super amiable. I’m happy we eventually managed to try this restaurant.

I visit this restaurant quite often! This is the best place to pass a nice evening. I visit this spot at least once a month. The meals are of high quality, the staff members are professional and the price is decent. I enjoy eating in this restaurant for a decent dinner.

Just walk out of the restaurant very disappointed. Food is not even that great, order like 8 dishes and none of them taste as good as expected. Service is really bad.no one seem to care after they put the food in your table, its like their job is done after serving the food. Even after raising hand to get some attention no one give a damn that I have to yell out to get someone to help out.ridiculous! Highly NOT RECOMMENDED.don't waste your money, go somewhere else instead.
