Kumon Math and Reading Centre of Scarborough - Kennedy & Finch

My son started Kumon here when he was in SK because of the pandemic. He’s in grade one now and has come such a long way! He has a lot more confidence in his math abilities and will often say math is his favourite subject. He can easily add and subtract three digit numbers and can regroup when needed. He’s even become better at problem solving and explaining his thinking. This location is special because Gary runs the centre really well along with all the staff. They are always respectful, kind, and very accommodating. We had to miss a class once and Gary personally stopped by the centre to drop off my son’s missed work! I’m really glad we started Kumon here and would recommend this location.

I am glad that I transferred my son to this location. I liked that Gary put extra effort into updating us on my son's progress, and achievement and if something that we have to work on.

My 5-year-old son just spent summer here in reading program. The staff are very nice to little kids. Before the start of the program, my kid was struggling with spelling because of blends. He learned to read every sound in the words and write corresponding letters. After lots of practice, he got much comfortable about spelling. Now he is a first grader, he feels easy to read and copy sentences down at school.

My son is in grade 2 and has been going to this centre for two years. Gary is an excellent teacher and makes sure my son learns at a steady pace and regularly shares performance feedback and ways to improve. We go all the way from Markham every week, all because I want my son to stay under Gary's able guidance.

My daughter has been going to this location for 2.5 years. This Kumon centre is very good and the instructor Mr. Gary is amazing along with her staff which all professional. Children are very comfortable and enjoy interacting with them. They offered online classes throughout the pandemic and beyond. Kumon has helped my daughter advance in school. The best thing I ever did was invest in for my daughter. This way she will not fall behind. Mr. Gary is exceptional and takes interest and is always available to discuss student’s progress. I recommend this center to anyone who wants to excellent their children abilities in Math and Reading.

Very nice and responsible teachers team there. My sons like doing Kumon and school’s homework after they started learning Kumon. Also they feel more confidence and happy when they are doing Kumon by themselves. It’s so appreciated that the teacher really understand my kids learning level and the problem they have. Every time when the class was over, the teacher came to me and gave me some advice about how to improving my little guys learning and always take time let them thinking about the result which question they feel a little difficult. I really recommend this Kumon Program centre.

My 2 sons love Kumon program so much. At the beginning, I worried about my 4y son can not handle the homework and in-person class as well. Actually all the teachers were so nice and gentle to teach him slowly. After 2 months, my little guy can finished his homework by himself even reading sentences. Another 7y son he follows the rules of Kumon homework couple weeks, and I found that he was interested in reading the book more than before also doing homework much faster. Thanks all the teachers group support my kids a lot.

The teachers at this Kumon centre especially Gary are very good and responsible. They often discuss with the parents about the students' learning progress and how to help them make better progress. I am very grateful to them.

My daughter starting to go to this kumon learning center at Finch Ave.when she was Gr 4. She is struggling at school so much and she couldn’t follow with her class. I get a friend referral me to go to this kumon learning center, she told me that the center in charge is very nice and he willing to help my daughter. So I trusted my friend and when with my daughter to get a reading assessment. Gary know what my daughter Level and what she need. He never push her or rushing her to go to next level. He alway give me advice or suggestions what is best for my daughter. And I alway told Gary I trust you. Just go ahead what is best for my daughter and now my daughter also starting math and she love it.
I highly recommend this Finch Ave Kumon learning center.

The Kumon philosophy is sound and I'm extremely happy with my child's progress. When my kid was struggling in a section, Gary listened to my concerns, provided some great advice and adjusted the homework to help maintain confidence and motivation!

I’ve learned a lot ever since Grade 1. The teacher are great, and they helped me learn a lot of volocabary,
Words and other things in Lanaguage. I’m in Grade 5 now and I’m still learning a lot.

The instructor Gary is very unprofessional he takes every opportunity to put down the previous instructor who had owned the center. He uses price discrimination based on race, which I found out from other parents as everyone is charged a different price. When I confronted him he brought up the old instructor without any cause telling me that the old instructor had to shut down because she was not good for business. Lot people have transferred to different Kumon center because of Gary's poor attitude, customer service, quality and unprofessionalism. He is new to Kumon and doesn't know the Kumon method. He doesn't hand back the work and I found out from one of the assistant teachers they are told not to mark the work and he throws them out in the garbage. The reviews below are fake as you can see they all came around the same time and he offered a $10 Tim's gift card to give him a good review, even some of those parents have also transferred to a different center. Don't go to this center it is terrible and unprofessional.

I am very lucky to attend the Kumon class. My daughter has studied here for two years, and her reading ability has been significantly improved. The teachers here are very patient, according to the students of different levels of guidance and more! My daughter loves the teaching methods and atmosphere here!

Gary and his friendly staff at the Agincourt Kumon Centre are amazing! We are grateful for the support and encouragement that our daughter receives and for the regular updates which Gary provides us. We look forward to the continued learning at this centre!

I am so pleased with my children’s progress at Again Court Kumon. Gary is amazing with the children who come to this Kumon Centre as he takes personal interest in each child’s progress. Gary is always willing to take time out to listen to parents’ concerns and give appropriate feedback to ensure progress. Even throughout this pandemic, Gary has stepped up to the challenge to ensure the continuity of progress and success for the children at the Centre.
