This place was so welcoming and homey, it feels like you're just visiting your relatives and enjoying some good food.
We did the boodle and everything was exceptionally delicious.
They catered to our needs, customized it as to our likings.
We came from L. A and it was our first boodle fight; We had such a great family experience! This won't be our first or last- that's for sure!

One more thing, the 4 stars for the atmosphere was because I wish it was just bigger, because 1 you guys deserve it and because it's a vibe in there. Definitely a 5 though for the vibe!

Found this little gem in Scarborough when I had a craving for Filipino food. The food was delicious and the price was reasonable for its generous portions. I ordered the Boodle Fight Meal (one pax) and a combo meal with two ulam (pork sisig and tomato chicken). The dishes (especially the Boodle) were well-presented and appetizing.

The gracious host also went above and beyond to offer a line of sauces and meticulously explained how they should be used to enhance and compliment the food. On top of that, he also explained to us what's in the Boodle and how it should be best consumed. He was friendly, patient with some of our questions and would check in on us every now and then to make sure we are doing fine. He also offered some complimentary soup towards the end of the meal. We had to take out some leftovers and he offered some tips on how we could prepare them at home.

All in all, I'm very pleased with the meal and the service and would recommend this location to anyone who wants a good meal and I'm looking forward to returning soon.

Came here with non-filipino friends. We enjoyed their boodle fight menu. It was very delicious. Ariel was a great host and knew how to treat his customers well. Will definitely return for more amazing philippine food.

I loved the homey vibe of the restaurant! I ordered the Kare Kare and it tasted amazing (like my childhood!). Staff was also very friendly and they had a mini karaoke machine so you already know we had to sing at least one song

Arial was an amazing host for all of us coming from church. Super great hospitality and the service was like being at another family’s home! Glad we found this place and we’ll definitely come back for a kamilayan feast!

We were looking for a place to treat our friends who we haven’t seen for a while and it was their first Kamayan feast experience. We could not have asked for a better place to share a meal while catching up with friends. Delicious and filled up our bellies and our hearts as we had a great time together. It was our first time there and we had the bangsilog and tapsilog. The presentation was so pretty, the decor felt so authentic, but most of all the food was so delicious!

Had a wonderful lunch here with my parents! Ariel was so kind, he treated us like family. The food was presented beautifully and patiently. I loved the food and we will definitely come back again!

Taste was subpar. Portions are too small. A bit more expensive than other Filipino resto. Definitely won't be ordering again, unless this place make some changes

I love the decor/ interior and it is cute for posting in social media. In terms of the dishes, I love them all! It brought my childhood memories back when my classmates would share ulam with me The kaldereta and sisig were our family’s fave! I love the bopis too! We would come back again next time!

This place is small but definitely homey. Food were great and presentation is at its best. First time we tried this place was via Uber but dining here is an experience. The owner is kind and friendly and the ambiance just brings you back to home. Sisigsilog is definitely a must!

It pains me to give this place a poor review. My mom and I wanted so badly to support not only local but a Filipino business.
She was craving pancit palabok and had it at Lakay before and really enjoyed it. What we were served was not even close to expectation. For those not familiar the sauce on the noodles is made with seafood - shrimp and/or crab. The sauce on what we received was sweet. My mom said it tasted like Pad Thai and I likened it to Filipino spaghetti (sweet also). When we asked about it we were told it was one of the ways they make it and that we could ask for the 'original' way next time. I thought an appropriate response would have been to replace it.
We were also turned off by the portion size. We ordered two combos. You receive a large mound of rice but then your food is placed in little bowls on the side. When you can see the bottom of the bowl as the food is sitting in it you know you're being ripped off. The server was careful in the quantity they were giving and - a huge pet peeve of ours - taking some out when they feel they've put too much.
Many other places we can and will go to instead. They do seem popular as they had a lot of take out orders but from our experience we won't be back.

We celebrated a birthday here and opted for the boodle fight. Everything was amazing - the food was delicious and the staff were all so helpful. Thank you for a great time, we'll be back!

My husband & I visited Lakay Kusina today. We ordered 1 bangsilog, 1 tocilog, 2 pork skewers, guava juice, 1 coconut juice, 1 halo halo, and 4 pieces of turon.

I gotta be honest - this small mom & pop restaurant/shop is a gem! The silogs were so delicious, freshly cooked (unlike the other Filipino restaurants that serve silogs - they just take from their food display, so you can tell it's not freshly cooked.) The bangus was very crispy. The presentation was well thought of. My husband really enjoyed the tocino and the eggs! The star of our whole order was the pork skewers - the meat was so tender, very flavourful and freshly cooked as well! The turon was also freshly cooked and very crispy and sweet. We took the halo halo to go, but before he packed it for us, he brought it out so we could take pics of it.

I believe the gentleman who served us today was the owner - his customer service was out of this world. He was very friendly, he offered us free sample of the guanabana juice and he even checked in with us throughout our stay. He was very polite and took his time in answering the guests' questions. What amazed me was that he took his time to get to know the group that did the kamayan. He even went above and beyond by giving a little birthday treat to one of the ladies in that group - he made her a bowl of ube ice cream, added some coconut jelly, pinipig and Leche flan on top, topped with a candle. He sang happy birthday to the lady too. You can't ask for a better service than that. Kuya, you the real MVP!

These days, showing kindness and compassion to guests/customers is very rare. And so, to Kuya who took great care of every customer that walked in the restaurant today, thank you for reminding us what Filipinos are known for - their hospitality and kindness. Best believe you'll be seeing us again soon!

Me and my husband had dinner yesterday at Lakay! We had the boddle flight! And it was amazing. Ariel the owner was amazing, he informed us about the rich culture about the Filipino cuisine and are meal and the history of the restaurant! It was a 10/10 experience! The food tasted good. But, the customer service is terrible. We called a day before for our boodle fight order and gave a specific time (5pm) for pick up. When my colleague went to pick up at the time we agreed, the food wasn't ready and the restaurant was claiming that the order was for 30mins (5: 30pm) after the pickup time. We are disappointed because we only have certain time for our break time.

Next, I found hair on my spring roll, and my friend didn't get her spring rolls and my BBQ is burnt. There's missing condiments as well like soy sauce and vinegar. For the price we paid, it's really expensive with bad service.

It saddens me to give this kind of review but if they cannot accommodate and make the order properly due to the busy holiday, they shouldn't take it. I don't recommend this place.

Went to this place as it was recommended by my friend. I wasn’t disappointed although the place is a little bit cramped but there are seating options available but limited. Food menu are typical of Filipino fare. I just ordered take-out for the Pinapaitang Kambing which I find okay but seems lacking some of the ingredients, taste is at par with Ilocano-style pinapaitan but I find the Lomi and Beef pares noodle soups almost taste the same except for the meat thats included.

Other than that I would love to try the kamayan bbq sometime soon as it looks really enticing and delicious.

We came when they were already closing and we requested if we can still do dine-in. They allowed us so that shows how they care for their customers. Also, we loved the food and they have presented the food very well. We will definitely come back!

Chicken skewers arrived ice cold, the skin was still on the shrimp in the noodle dish which had zero flavour and the lumpias were disgusting!

Kare kare was tasty and creamy. Family enjoyed it The customer service is good and engages in conversation. Would go back if in the area. Also you wont find the Lakay Kusina but instead Kuya Willie's instead. They have to fix thr signage.

Ii’ve been buying food from this Filipino restaurant and my family really loves their food especially the Tapsilog and Kare-kare. If anyone wants “Pulutan” please try their Sisig and Papaitan, they taste really good. All their food are fresh, delicious and authentic.

Today is my second time ordering from Lakay Kusina through UberEats and today is also the second time I have been thoroughly impressed by their food. This is by far the best Filipino restaurant I’ve ever tried plus they have dishes that I usually crave for but are not commonly served elsewhere. I waited for quite a long time to receive my order but I believe it’s because everything is prepared fresh. The food was still hot when I received it and I am very satisfied. I am now one loyal customer. Kudos!

I love the Pancit Bihon! It will be cook only after order.tastes better than Turo turo pancit-bihon.

This place is amazing. I order off UberEats often and have visited the store in person. The menu is expansive and they offer a variety of authentic Filipino dishes. Give it a try and you won't regret and if you're not sure what it's in the dish I recommend asking the staff or simply doing quick search. I've tried so many new things and haven't been disappointed yet.

It's hard to find a Filipino restaurant that gives you that nostalgia of eating your mom's cooking. Kuya Willie's does that. I've ordered from them thru UberEats a few times and they did not disappoint. The portions are very generous and your $ will go a long way. I'm a very westernized filipino and never "really" liked filipino food growing up, but the food here was delicious! I tried my 2 favourite filipino dishes longanisa and tapa, they made both extremely well. If you're not familiar with filipino food and want to enjoy your first experience, I'd suggest these two items to try. Longanisa is pretty much a sausage (similar to a bbq sausage) and Tapa is pretty much beef (similar to beef teriyaki).

The service was great. They called to make sure i was aware that my meal had been prepared as I was a bit late for my pick up. Since it was not busy they also kept my food warm for me. Thanks, again!

If there's one Filipino word that describes Kuya Willie's, it's "sulit". Directly translated, sulit means worthwhile. But that direct translation doesn't really capture its essence, because sulit is said with exclamation points, not periods; sulit is less worthwhile and more OMG WHAT AN AMAZING DEAL

It's that spirit of sulit that captures Kuya Willie's: you get mounds of food for a fraction of it's worth. Standouts for me were the chixsilog (2 pieces of crispy fried chicken with 2 sunny side eggs, garlic rice, and a vinegary side mango/tomato salad; all for just $9) and the lumpiang shanghai (crispy outer wrapping with nice meaty filling; 10 pieces for just $5). Also got the combo, which was amazing value (2 sides, a heaping of rice and a can of pop for just $11), though I thought their kare kare was a bit too oily (kudos though for using oxtail, which is a prime ingredient) and beef kaldereta was a bit overcooked.

All told, Kuya Willie's kept with the age old Filipino tradition of cooking too much food because you're worried people will go hungry. Tastewise, it was homecooked-goodness. Pricewise, it was definitely SULIT!

I admire this spot! They offer awesome dishes, their menu is large, The cook in that spot is a real pro, I enjoy a lot tasting all their dishes. The dishes are consistently good, the attitude towards the customers is friendly. I often eat in this restaurant and I not even once was disappointed. I recommend it to all my friends.

This place has a great selection of your filipino classic dishes and the servings have different ranges in sizes. When I ordered the 3 choice combo w/ rice, the portions are enough to feed 2 people and a child. Now it's always good to support a local resto especially when the food is very tasty and not to overwhelmed with sodium. I will come back for sure and will also try the homemade desserts and halo halo next time I visit.

This has got to be the best and affordable Filipino restaurant I've ever eaten. Usually, Filipino restaurants are overpriced and the serving is so little. Breakfast menu was unbelievably great! This place is a hidden gem for Filipino restaurants. Their kare-kare, papaitan, and goat caldereta are to die for. Fair prices too!

A+ on their kare-kare because they use ox tail unlike most Filipino restaurants who cheap out on their meat.

Parking is limited though and their exhaust fan doesn't seem to work as food smell always sticks to my clothes every time I finish eating there.
