La Bella Managua

Tried this restaurant for the first time and I understand how it's managed to stay in business for 19+ years.

Our group tried a variety of dishes. The daily special (deep fried whole fish) was the best one. The fish was succulent and had a light taste, despite being deep fried. The grilled chicken was tender and lightly seasoned. I would have preferred a little more flavour for this main course. If you order one of the beef/steak mains, be sure to tell the staff how you want your course prepared - the default is well done. Everyone was pleased with the calamari and ceviches appetizers. The ceviche was particularly noteworthy because it had all of the flavour without being overly marinated.

What I loved most about my meal, though, were the sides that came with the main course. Often, restaurants will add in a few veggies or place the main on top of a carb and these items won't be anything special, they're just meant to decorate the plate and may look pretty but don't taste very good. That is not the case with La Bella Managua! I tried the rice & beans, plaintain (both fried and chips), avocado salad and cabbage salad. All were delicious! The avocado salad was bursting with flavor from the bell peppers, onions and avocado. I thought "cabbage salad" was a fancy way of saying cole slaw but the delicate seasonings used are much tastier than the mayo (or vinegar) often used in coleslaw, this salad truly belongs in a class of its own!

Due to the generous portions of sides given, the meal is well balanced nutritionally. The amount of food given also makes the price for main courses reasonable and affordable. For smaller appetities, a main course could be enough for 2 meals.

Service was reasonable, given how busy the restaurant is. Note that the restaurant will automatically add gratuity to bills for large groups. Although the restaurant is able to accommodate large groups, the space is more conducive for smaller groups.

I ordered delivery from Bella Managua tonight and they sent my dish with no sauce, just dry chicken. I’ve had the Pollo a la Parilla multiple times and it is absolutely delicious with a rich creamy sauce which this time was missing. Make sure you ensure they include everything when you order delivery from them!

This place is one of my favourite hidden gems. The food is delicious every time, the service is always so genuine, warm and friendly. I will always go back when I'm in the area

This place cook very authentic delicious Nicaraguan food. I come to Toronto from Montreal. I will be visiting next year.

Hidden Gem on Bloor. This place has great food (Churrasco, Yuccanadas and the Nacatamal were amazing) and reasonable price. Besides that the service and atmosphere is very friendly, feels like you're joining a friend's house for dinner. Highly recommend!

From a Nicaraguan. Tastes just like home. Prices are affordable and the portions are huge, just like home. I wish their place was bigger, it gets really busy

I am very disappointed with this restaurant. My family and I come almost every week since it is the only restaurant in Toronto from our hometown. Unfortunately, we decided not to attend this place anymore because the wife of the owner is EXTREMELY rude and abrupt when it comes to customer service as well as this one server. It takes almost 40 mins to get your order out, and when asked to simply remove vegetables from a soup they were "too busy" to do so.

Customer service is not their greatest asset. I will say.food is okay, and overpriced for the quantity given. I hope the owner's wife and this one server can treat customers with more respect in the future.

Plentiful food portions and very delicious. Make sure you bring proof of vaccinations to get in.

Amazing food & usually very consistent. The last 2 times I ordered, portions have gotten smaller & food tastes slightly different.

Plaintains don’t have the same sweetness to them like before. Gallo Pinto is amazing but again, portions have reduced. Will order again just maybe not as often.

Portions were great and the food was amazing. Chicken was grilled very well, and the sweet plantains had these perfectly caramelized ends. I could also just eat a whole tub of that avocado salad. Came here on a whim and definitely wasn't disappointed:)

Great place to eat, everytime I'm in Toronto, I make sure to stop here. Food is amazing and service is great. Highly recommend this place, best bang for your buck.

Hidden gem! The restaurant may look very simple form the outside, but the food was flavourful, generous portions and great service. It was my first time in a Nicaraguan restaurant and our server took the time to explain the menu, even if the restaurant was full. Great find!

Delicious, healthy, traditional, authentic Nicaraguan food Great vibes all around. An absolute staple of the neighborhood. Do yourself a favor and eat here if you're in the Bloor/Ossington area.

Just finished getting delivery from La Bella Managua…Best. Delivery. Ever. Food was hot and delicious. We tried 3 different meals and they were all delicious. I highly recommend!

Great place, service is a little slow but thats ok its understandable, the waitress seemed very racist tho, probably cuz she hates chinese people who are of spanish background, its ok im used to it

The place is really cute, parking was not difficult to find. I order the carne asada, the meat was tender it just need it a little bit more of seasoning. I was sad that they didnt offer tajadas (plantain chips) with their main courses since they are a staple of nicaraguan cuisine. But they had tostones and queso frito (fried cheese) which is was excellent. My friend order the chicken and that was very tasty, the gallo pinto was really good too. The cacao juice was really good. My friend order the cerdo con yuca, and the pork was super tasty it just that a little too dry so the yuca felt too dry. I love the fact that they added the extra chile on the side, cuz thats a very nicarguan thing to do.

Ordered for delivery after reading the great reviews. Ended up regretting it because the steak was tough and the rest seemed to be thrown in the container without any care. The taste was ok.

Have been ordering/dining here for years, Bella Managua delivers everytime! Delicious, well cooked, and always quality, fresh ingredients (their avacados are glorious). Recently, since Covid, the avacado salad has arrived very cold, it's much nicer when dining in, but wouldn't hesitate to order again nonetheless.

This Place has delicious food if You haven't try it, you don't know what good food is yet the Owner Chef Jesus is a super friendly guy that will gladly accommodate any requests that You may have, still open for curbside pick up as a matter of fact I was there few days ago, love it, love it, love it.

Authentic Nicaraguan food. It looks a bit cheap but don't let the looks fool you, their food is delicious. I ordered chicken jalapeño and my boyfriend got a steak. Bother meals were delicious, the chicken was grilled to perfection and the steak was juicy and tender. The portions are very big for the price you pay. Great little restaurant if you're craving Central american food.

Really enjoy the food and atmosphere every time I come here. La Bella Managua has some of the highest quality and most original dishes of any restaurant I have been to. All dishes are great. The fish of the day dish in particular is always tasty, very well presented and will leave you very satisfied.

Easily one of the best restaurants in the area and very reasonably priced. Their grilled plantain and avocado salad are TO DIE FOR. The decor is so cute and the ambiance is lovely. I come here fairly often and I've never had less than excellent service. My only minor complaint is that it's a pretty small place so sometimes you have to wait, but it is definitely well worth it.

Delicious Latin American food at a reasonable price, tastes just like something my mom would make and brings a lot of nostalgia

It was my first time having this type of food. The food was really tasty. Meet was marinaded and cooked perfectly. Nice staff. We had three milk cake for desert which was superb. They had a spicy sauce made with onion, vinegar and a bunch of other stuff and I absolutely loved it on the food.

My first and and last visit. Drove here from the states to visit family in London. This restaurant was highly recommended during our visit the service was poor. We asked for lemon our waitress bought it and also said “make sure you share with the rest of you” we asked for Sweet and Sour 10 mins later she brought it and still had “something to say”as she brought it to our table. At the end of our meal bill paid and all ready to leave the waitress approached our table and demanded the 15% of tip. She was very rude and still told us exactly the amount we were suppose to leave. Verryyyy Dissappointing Experience i suggest go somewhere else to spend your money on good service. Never Again!

This place is something of a hidden gem. Food is very reasonably priced and comes with HUGE PORTIONS. Not a fancy interior by any means; just tasty, authentic South American food. Would recommend.

Went here for my friends Birthday lunch. I must admit my sis and i was a little bit skeptical about this place because of its location but let me tell you that completely changed once we tasted the food. It was so darn good, i had the carne asada and my sis had the catch of the day which was a fried whole seabass. The fish was fried to perfection not greasy at all and the carne asada was just simply delish.and the leche flan napolitano was definitely one of the best desserts they had.will definitely come back

Love love this place, very good latin flavour, the closest I can find to my Costarican food. It gets very busy on the weekends so better call to make a reservation.
I usually have the carne asada with rice and beans (we call it gallo pinto) and it’s great, my husband usually gets the pescado entero (whole fried fish) and he is pretty happy with it as well.

I live in Brampton and we rearly eat out, this is the only resturant we eat at and we always enjoy the catch of the day. We love this place

GOSH I LOVE THE FOOD HERE! I got the yuca y cerdo and it was just simply ammmmmmmmmmmmmmazing! I love this place. Do not hesitate to try it out!

So, we have been heee twice in the past 30 days and I forget to take pictures each time food arives, as we are busy digging in.

The decor and food is homey and service is excellent.

We liked ceviche and yucca mixta and fish of the day a lot. All the food and salad were fresh, good portioned and delicious!

Not so much on tamales-tho that probably my preference towards Mexican style tamales. Flan for dessert was a bit disappointing too as it reminded of what I had made at home-shape and taste wise.

Did I mention price is great? I think if you are expecting a nice homey Latino food, this is an excellent place to be.

Bringing a major spotlight to Nicaraguan cuisine. La Bella Managua is closest thing you'll taste to actually being in Nicaragua.

The waiting staff are polite and friendly. The ambiance and decor are on point with Nicaraguan restaurants. The food, as you can see in the photos, is exceptional.

As a Nicaraguan, myself, I have not seen a Nica restaurant that provides exceptional service and exceptional food as good as La Bella Managua does it. It's always a treat to eat here and I recommend everyone to get a taste of Nicaragua.

Don't judge this restaurant by it's exterior. Inside offers you a memorable, mouth watering experience. Great food and prices. It's a small, cozy restaurant that is perfect for good friends to connect and enjoy a meal. The only challenge I faced was that the waitresses all spoke Spanish and couldn't adequately explain some menu items in English, enough for me to know if I could have the specific items due to my restricted diet. But, that's where my Spanish-speaking friend came to my rescue lol. Overall, great experience.

I really like this place! I always get the fish of the day here, it's so yummy and filling! Servers are also really nice. I accidentally left my bag here and they saved it for me:)

The food was great! Staff was very friendly! Only thing is it's very small so seating was a bit hard to find and crammed which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of five. Portions were also great and tastes like a good home cooked meal. Would definitely recommend!

I could it there everyday. The seasoning is on point. The portions are good enough. And it's not too expensive. First time trying and I loved it.

I loved this place! Hadn't been in a long time, but service continues to be exceptionally good, and the food is delicious as always! One can't never go wrong with a Carne Asada! The most popular dish of the house. Always fills up quite quickly, so make sure go eather reserve a spot or go early!

I ordered the cerdo con yuca, meat was tender and I loved the spices on it, yuca was soft and delicious, portion was generous. The ceviche was the star of the menu in my opinion, it had a great flesh flavour although it could have had more fish in it - and was quite expensive for the small portion.

Food was amazing! We had the ceviche and calamari to start. Flavour was fantastic. The calamari was fresh and tasty. Tacos are top notch. Steak with chimichurri was the star of the night.
