Very large selection of fresh baked goods. Delicious pizza choices. Lots of macaroni choices to buy and try. The hot bar was divine. Would recommend to all visiting Americans! A must see to believe! Put it on your visit to Lundys Lane area. Will be a regular stop for us.have many more items to try!
These guys have everything, baked fresh and the staff are super polite and helpful. They have a deli as well if you're not in the mood for goodies, and the price was good, comparable to the chain places and definitely better quality.
We stopped in for a sandwich after golf and ordered the chicken parm sandwiches. Worst sandwich ever. They must have cut one piece of chicken in half making it so thin you could almost see through it. Barely any cheese and extremely dry. Not worth stopping in for pre-made items considering what they charged for it.
If you were an Italian bakery in GTA or surrounding no one would buy from you. Fact not an opinion. Arancini was frozen, cannoli was not fresh, olive bread was ok Frozen food is not hot table. Taste is bland. There is hope yet visit La Rose Bakery or Cappuccino Bakery and see how real Italians do it. Since Portage bakery was closed you were my last resort. Even my bakery in Welland has espresso.
Realisticly if I could rate 0 stars I probably would. I called to inquire about an item and all I said was "do you guys have _" then she started being rude and having an attitude, I tried to bring down the town of the conversation and she cut me off with "-okay bye". It didn't effect my life personally but the way you treat people is an idication to your own reality.
We camp in Niagara Falls regularly and have never missed a chance to visit La Farina. Usually its bread, sweets or deli products but this time we tried their hot items. Did not disappoint. Lasagna, veal parmisan sandwich and arancini. All delicious and similar to my mother-in-laws food.
Good bread, sweets are good if they are fresh but customer service at the front counter? Forget it.makes you feel like you are totally bothering her. Maybe back of the house is a better place because the lady at the register totally hates her life
Although its pricey, I love the hot table here and the donuts are also delish! I am giving a three star because the customer service is soooooo so sooooo incredibly bad.
The lady behind the counter who was helping me was very rude and not well behaved. I do recommend according to the quality but not the very good customer servive
Bought a carrot cake.told it was bakery made there in their bakery.it was a Costco carrot cake and was double the price costco sells.watch what you buy.unless you see it being made in front of you.do not trust it is bakery made there in their bakery.so disappointing
Do not ever work at this place you’re gonna get abused is a very dirty disgusting place. Expect you to volunteer your time. Back room is disgusting.they do not wear gloves to handle the food is nasty
Lady serving desserts very rude and not helpful answering my questions. Desserts seemed not fresh old tasting. Was excited to try this bakery first time and last time very disappointing.
This place is addictive and amazing. Beware this shop is you're trying to lose weight. You will gain after seeing this place and how good everything is.
This was an impulse stop for us. Glad we did. Really enjoyed the chocolate crunch donut, empire cookies, Easter egg bread, and finally the blueberry pie. The store was very clean, and pastries were all represented in a clean touch free counter. The smell of fresh baked goods got us hooked in a buying frenzy and we even picked up pickled eggplant that they carry as well as so much more in canned/, preserved goods of well known Italuan food manufacturers. The staff was pleasant and helpful as well their friendly demeanor and also those of the other patrons in La Farina also at that moment. 5 star establishment.
Bought all kinds of treats & buns. It was later on in day. Everything was still fresh. I had 2 buns on car ride home. Great little place. Smells awesome. Will definently come back
Veal sandwich is best in the city! And the lady from Newfoundland that works in the hot deli is awesome and try the pistachio and ricotta cheesecake along with the cannolis.
I live in Buffalo and make sure I stop here whenever I'm in Canada. (Family lives close to the bakery so I stop often.) Best Italian bread for miles! And the pastries bring me back to Italy. Beautifully decorated, fresh and tasty. Love the croissants. They also have a deli, canned goods, pastas, ect. Very nice lady always works the front register. Love this place.
The staff is super nice but unfortunately after 2 hot table experiences I will not be returning.
My wife and I got a veal parm sandwhich, ravioli and a rice ball at 4pm. Unfortunately everything was cold and/or soggy.
I called the next day and explained what happened to the manager and she was amazing, and offered to refund me or give me a new meal. I went back the next day and got the same food all over again. While the ravioli Thai time was slightly warmer, the veal parm was was again borderline cold. I also ate the sandwhich right away in my car so it’s not like it got cold on the way home.
I will say, for being cold it was decent, but good at a hot table is supposed to be hot. I just wish it was hot and fresh because I feel like it would be amazing.
Would be have been nice if my order was done right, The women that took the order was so nice the day I place the order, But was so rude. The day I pick up it. I would never place another order in the near future.
Husband and I popped in for sandwiches. Assorted is the only cold sandwich option but it was phenomenal! Huge for the price (7.00 for whats pictured) Soft fluffy bun and so delicious!
Loved the Italian lady serving at the hot food case. She exclaimed everything so well. She spoke English but I also got to practice my Italian. Made the experience and the food much better.
The bosses are terrible, they take advantage of their employees. The work environment is awful and toxic, people only value you if you destroy your body trying to get work done, and they will underpay you if they can get away with it.
I recommend supporting a different small business - try Portage bakery closer to Main and Ferry.
If you've never been here you are missing a little Italian gem in the city. The place is spotless and clean and has a wealth of options to choose from whether it be meats, cheeses or their incredibly large bakery assortment.
We love coming to this local bakery! They have lots of baked goods, deli items, hot good section, and imported Italian goodies. Lovely staff and clean store.
I went to the bakery for Mother's Day 2021 and I am very disappointed I had bought in a few pastries and bought a was supposedly supposed to be a blueberry meringue pie but instead I got a lemon meringue pie that was old and now my stomach is hurting I will never be shopping there again
I'm pretty sure everything here in bakery is brought in. I purchased this chocolate cake, that looked amazing. $45 later, it was dry and stale. Must of been in the showcase for a few days. I will never return!
Unfortunately I don’t have anything good to say about this place. Breads were ok. I got some cookies, I guess they are from another week or so! They mixed the old ones with the less old ones! They are smelling oil (like the machine oil or something like that) also they were as stale as a cookie could be! There isn’t any other way to sell more stale. It is chemically impossible!
Like stepping into Italy! Fresh and dry pasta; cold cuts and cheese; hot table with arancini, veal cutlets and ready lasagna; all kinds of pastries, cookies and cakes; including fresh cannoli and an excellent assortment of canned vegetables and preserves of all kind, mostly imported from Italy. A huge variety of taralli, grissini and Italian sodas. If you like Italian cuisine, this place is the best.
Visit here all the time and I used to love buying fresh croissants in the morning. The last two times I came home to stale, day old croissants. The first time I thought it was just a bad bake, but going again within the week and getting more stale ones is not a coincidence. Incredibly disappointing as I really want to keep supporting a local business, but this is just not acceptable. At least sell them for half price so customers know what they are buying. So disappointing when I looked forward to it so much.
Worst cupcakes we ever had.so very dry they were crumbling. As well as the icing on top was hard.definitely not fresh.will not be back. $35 for a dozen cupcakes, And they went in the garbage.
Prices are reasonable but I was disappointed with the baked goods I purchased. My wife didn't enjoy her cheesecake and my walnut crunch tasted stale. Too bad. Lots of people rave about this place. It was very busy and the staff were somewhat overwhelmed.
We have always had a positive experience here. They carry items you can't find in many other places in Niagara Falls and the quality of goods has always been fair.
Please train the lady behind the cash about customer service. She is not a good representative for your business. She makes customers feel as though she is doing them a favour. The last two times I went there, I had very uncomfortable experiences. I will not go out of my way to shop at your store when I visit Niagara Falls again.
Food was excellent but none of the staff were wearing masks in the bakery area, just had them around their chins which completely defeats the purpose. Though they were put on after several customers walked in.
The lady that works at The front counter at the bakery is such a downer Debbie downer when I walk into the bakery I feel like I’m walking into the twilight zone everyone so quiet there’s no music playing it doesn’t even feel inviting I feel like I’m bothering people when I go there get some new stuff put on some nice Italian music make it inviting for people geez. I would not recommend this bakery it needs an attitude adjustment some pizzazz and some better selection
Made us fresh eggplant sandwiches from they’re hot table.amazing FAT filled. Must visit this place for quick lunch. Quality and quantity at a fair price. Will visit again. Consider this a “spot”.
