Romantic and a hidden gem. From the moment we entered the restaurant the owner Sebastian was friendly and welcoming. A lot of food and wine options. Definitely a place to celebrate any occasion. Can't wait to visit again. Truly one for the books

Great experience, customer service was excellent from the moment we walked in the cozy establishment. Ordered their self-titled pizza, it was amazing, made just how I like my pizza. The owner Sebastian was very welcoming and I highly recommend this place for everyone.

If you are looking for a delicious home made style pizza (or anything else), La Grotta is the way to go! Would not change this place. Me and my daughter come so often, it feels like home, and the service we get is exceptional. Thank you!

La Grotta is by far my favourite restaurant in Unionville. This place is cosy and welcoming. Food is delicious and the owner is so nice and friendly; he knows what he’s doing! A great host. I recommend the bruschettas (OMG DIVINE) or anything on the menu, with a nice glass of wine.

I came back to this fabulous restaurant after almost 6 years. This place is a gem, starting off with Sebastian and his friendly care. My fiancé and I came back and we were welcomed with love! We ordered the mussels to start which was authentic and I can honestly say the best mussels we had in Toronto. Lamb and seabass is what we got for our mains and it was exquisite to its taste and came with delicious sides. They brought out tiramisu complementary and made our night amazing. Will be back definitely!

It was such a lovely experience. I came with my friends, staffs were friendly, food was amazing and everything was great like a Italian restaurant should be. Simply Amazing. Will come again for sure.

Had an absolutely fantastic experience! We spontaneously decided to visit during the bustling Mother's Day weekend, and despite the crowd, the staff went above and beyond to find us a table. The wait for our food was a little longer, but trust me, it was well worth it. I highly recommend trying the shrimp appetizer, seafood pasta, and lamb—they were all incredibly delicious. The owner of the restaurant was exceptional; they were attentive, caring, and extremely helpful throughout our visit. And to top it all off, they surprised us with a complimentary bruschetta. Such a thoughtful gesture! We had a wonderful time and left with big smiles. Wishing you all an amazing day

It was great experience here. I went here with my boyfriend they gave us the a table near a fireplace which was really romantic also the food is amazing and most importantly the service was upto the mark. Must visit place. Best place to spend a good time with your loved once.

I visited LA GROTTA ON MAIN a few years ago and had a fantastic experience with their pizza. That's why I decided to give it another shot recently with my family, but I was left sorely disappointed. The pizzas were nowhere near as good as I remembered, and the overall customer service was awful.

Firstly, whatever we asked for seemed to take ages for them to bring to our table. It was as if they had forgotten about us altogether. Moreover, during our meal, they started reorganizing the tables while customers were still seated and eating. This created a chaotic and disruptive atmosphere, which is unacceptable in any restaurant.

To make matters worse, they have a hidden charge policy. They charge an extra $3-4 if you pay with a credit card instead of cash or debit, which feels like a sneaky way to get more money out of their customers.

Unfortunately, this visit to LA GROTTA ON MAIN left me with a sour taste in my mouth, both figuratively and literally. I hope they can improve their food quality, customer service, and transparency in pricing in the future because based on this experience, I won't be returning anytime soon.

An hour to get food, owner is rude and arrogant, quality of food was like store bought pasta sauce terrible. Pizza isn’t pizza it’s flat bread with second rate ingredients and calamari is rubber over cooked. Table clothes were dirty and had cigarette burns, dirty and disgusting how this place survives in such a beautiful area is beyond me. 3 people over $100

toilets are clean
ceiling is too low
overall overpriced for food, service and atmosphere.

I love this place. The food and service are outstanding, the owner is a great guy. As improvement suggestion the service could be faster. But, again, it is a great place to spend time with relatives or friends.

My husband and I were looking for a tasty lunch in a cozy atmosphere and we got that and more at La Grotta on Main. Sebastian treated us like royalty and made us feel quite at home. Good food, good wine and great service. The wine list gave us information regarding sugar levels which was great for us. Also my husband is vegan and a yummy vegan option was available. We highly recommend stopping in if you're nearby.

Had to wait for 58 minutes just for a pizza and calamari. I was promised to wait for 25 minutes and to me it was ok. Since the patio has a lot of big mosquitos I have to walk around unionville while waiting. After 30 minutes, I went back to get it but they told me, “5 more minutes”. After waiting for another 18 minutes I got my pizza in a box under the pizza was napkin so it literally sticked to the pizza.

Service was worst. Not even sorry or thanked me for waiting for 58 minutes.

Service was great! The seafood was tasty and fresh, but the risotto was bland and watery. The pasta Alfredo was ok but nothing special.

I held my sister’s celebration of Life at La Grotta on Main in Unionville…. It was important to me that everything was perfect! From the first stages of planning this event, the owner Sabastian could not have been any more helpful. Any request was absolutely no problem. We had 23 people in attendance…all our food arrived from the kitchen piping hot and each course had a nice flow. Their homemade desserts are to die for…we tried the tiramisu and fruit sorbet both beyond good! The restaurant has a nice authentic Italian feel…the outside patio made us feel as if we were visiting Italy! For you pet lovers.they have a pet-friendly patio!

Our meal start to finish was amazing, service was exceptional and the staff was super friendly…the experience exceeded all my expectations!

I never ever have visited an Italian restaurant which serves pasta dry without no salt. Ordered a cappuccino and came semi warm and no taste of cinnamon or sugar. Appetizers dish came over cooked shrimp with calamari with bottle sauce. Veg appetizer with three piece of brichetta and some salad leaves with cheese and olives. Garbage food and no salt Luke warm pasta. Drinks I have ended up paying 405.00

Had a fantastic lunch with my kids and my parents today at La Grotta on Main. It was a pleasure meeting and chatting with Sebastian who welcomed us and looked after us graciously. The food was deliciously prepared…even the bread was made in house. We are looking forward to returning soon to try some other menu choices. Thank you Sebastian!

We thoroughly enjoyed are delicious lunch on the patio with a glass of perfectly chilled Pinot Grigio and Sebastiano's warm, friendly hospitality. It reminded us of our al fresco meals in Italy. The generous servings of scrumptious chicken marsala and penne rosa allowed my friends to take some home. On the other hand, I completely devoured my calamari fritti, perfectly prepared and caprese salad with warm bread right from the oven to dip into the balsamic vinegrette. Relaxing on the patio under the tree canopy sipping my cappuccino made for a perfect afternoon.
