It’s always a great experience at La Luma no matter which stylist it is. They always exceed my expectations in their service and achieve exactly what I want! Especially with me being super indecisive, their suggestions help a lot.

Edit: My latest visit was great as always. Got a much needed change and love the result!

Second Time I’ve been to this salon and dealt with Mary. Each time I have an amazing experience. Mary takes the time to make sure everything is up to the clients expectations and stays late to make sure her clients are happy. Mary did my hair colour for my wedding and again today we did blonde highlights. I will continue to go back as the environment is like a home away from home! Keep up the amazing job you guys are doing! Will be back again!

Yet another appointment that didn't disappoint. I know people can be nervous to see students but my experience keeps getting better with them. I spent yesterday with JC getting a Balayage and cut done. First time with a Balayage rather than straight highlights. JC was determined that I was going to love it and I do. She was warm, entertaining and enjoyable.we got really close in our time together and I didn't even need to wear a hat when I left. Highly recommend and absolutely love my new hair. Thank you!

This was my third visit and third great experience with the students. Had Mary tonight and she did an awesome job on my colour and cut (thanks to Bree too). Highly recommend.

La Luma is a vibrant place, with a mixture of hairstylists who are eager learners and those who are more seasoned. I feel well treated and listened to when I go get hair services at La Luma. I also invariably like the results! I leave with a beautiful new colour and hair cut/style each time. I highly recommend this lovely salon.

Everything was great. Hannah, my stylist figured out the style I wanted for my cut. I love the length and the fullness my hair has after my cut. Although I wish my fringe was trimmed better, it just seems a little of center and one side is thicker than the other. I wish it wasn't too short but I guess I wasn't very specific with how I wanted my bangs to look like.

Such a great experience here! Patricia was so thorough sectioning my hair, and I have a LOT of hair. But she was so patient and nice even though it took like 5 hours just to bleach and tone. I'm going back to finish up the colour tomorrow and I can't wait! Thanks so much again ️

Had my hair cut by Kenzie today, needed a trim to get rid of dead ends and a refresh on my layers. She did a great job and managed to get the whole head done in an hour so it was only $25. Really talented students here so if you’re looking for an inexpensive cut this is the place to go!

I walk by the Salon/Academy everyday om my way to work, staff always were friendly and and greeting as I'd walk by. One day decided to stop and actually make an appointment. Want to say what an awesome 1st appointment, Staff and students are wonderful, they love what they are doing! I had the pleasure of having my hair done by Kenzie and the Instructor was Vanessa. But not only the entire team lovely and knowledgeable and available. Kenzie did a fabulous job listening and asking about my goals I'd like to reach. For anyone looking for a new place to get your hair done in Guelph, look no further! I am so happy I decided to give this place a try. I have been in to see Sam twice now, and both times she was absolutely fantastic! On my last visit I got some bright red peekaboo highlights put in, the rest of my hair dyed dark red & a nice fresh trim & I couldn't be happier with the result!:) From the moment you walk in everyone there makes you feel comfortable, it's overall just a wonderful experience. Thank you for all that you do!

I always enjoy spending time with Sebastian. He is meticulous and professional and I recommend him to anyone.

I had an absolutely amazing experience at La Luma Academy! The staff were very professional and friendly; and my stylist Mallory was awesome! Mallory educated me on hair care and gave me lots of tips and tricks! I walked away feeling soooo good, I will definitely be back to see Mallory!

Sam K did a great job with my highlights and haircut. I decided to go short and she did a great job, checking in with me about the length, every step of the way. I love the final look and I already have my next appointment booked with her!

My experience at La Luma was phenomenal. Renee was so knowledgeable, professional and an absolute pleasure all around! I gave her a photo of my inspiration and she was able to create a plan of action that would work best on my hair. I went in to see Renee for lowlights and a bang trim and was so pleased with the result. My hair was so fluffy and silky and the colour was really well done. I will definitely be back.

I had an appointment to have my hair trimmed with Sebastian. I showed up a little early for my appointment but did not have to wait at all. It felt very clean and safe and Sebastian did an excellent job. He gave me exactly what I asked for and was overall very enjoyable to spend the hour with.

It was my first time getting my hair done there and I cannot wait to go back! Renee did an incredible balayage (and trim), that I couldn't be more happy with! She was super friendly and thoughtful; and made sure I got exactly what I was looking for!

Andrew is skilled. He satisfied all of my questions, offered stylistic tips for my kind of curly hair, and I left feeling refreshed and pleased with my doo. Covid precautions were taken and did not hinder the experience.

Awesome experience, I only had a vague idea of what I wanted done and Taylor helped me figure out the details and did a fantastic job with the haircut.

First time I went I had Sebastian absolutely wonderful went home happy with my hair feeling soft. Had him book my next appointment for 8 weeks later. I had to reschedule due to my work schedule. I made sure that my appointment was with Sebastian. I go in he is not there are they have a different hairstylist do my hair for MORE MONEY than I was supposed to pay. They inform me it was because Sebastian moved up a level good for him, would be willing to pay additional for him but not this random person. I am worried about things shutting down so I said go ahead and cut it. Shampoo, condition, and cut all great normal level of quality I expect. Hairstyling however was not I asked for it to be curly like my natural hair is apparently that was a huge mistake. She put so much product in it my hair felt greasy and unwashed. Also the finished product looked stringy and left me like an wet poodle. Shall not be returning any time soon/

I did a lot of research before making an appointment here. The great reviews made me want to give it a go. My one stipulation was I needed to be able to tie my hair back. I basically got a bob. So disappointed! The worst hair cut I’ve ever had. Half my hair isn’t long enough to tie back, so it just looks ridiculous. By the time I realized how short it was it was too late to do anything but grin and bear it. Really a shame because the stylist was super nice. I should also mention it wasn’t a student- I paid nearly $100 for the top, most experienced, stylist in the place.

Went to La Luma today to fix a bad at home hair dye job had an appointment with Sebastian and I absolutely loved him another lady was helping train him and giving him tips overall an amazing experience and I loved the end result will definitely come here again

Had an amazing first experience at La Luma! Had a full head of highlights done by Raine, a student at the academy. Raine did such a thorough job and was honestly one of the best highlight jobs I’ve ever had. Would absolutely recommend

I came on my lunch and was back just in time. I just had a wash and blow-dry (and straighten) my hair.

Even though she looked awkward while she was working, I know it's because they are taught how to hold the brush and blow dryer, I'm sure she'll get used to it by practicing.

She did a really good job, so I booked an appointment to get my hair coloured next visit.

I had my hair done by Daniella and it was a dream! She was so friendly and l felt very pampered. I went from a darker root to a bright blonde and I’m loving it! Awesome location! Definitely going back!

I went in for highlights. I asked for it to be lighter and brighter (which it is) which is why I left happy until I got home and inspected/felt the damage. My hair was over processed. The bottom is white & fried. The top is yellow and brassy. I was told when toning that it either had to be yellow or purple. Purple hair is not what I wanted at all so I said I’d rather it be more yellow. I’ve never been to a salon where I had to pick usually they can lift my Entire head & tone Evenly. If you’ve been doing blonde hair for years this shouldn't be an issue. The foils could’ve been closer to the scalp as I also left with dark roots that looks like root regrowth already. Also my hair was in pretty good condition before my service & I left with it rough as straw and brittle. Maybe a 100+ back to back foils would be okay on virgin hair but I never said mine was. I didn’t want to question anything going on & trusted the process but I probably should’ve spoke up. It’s sad cause the girl was nice & service was good (yes I tipped). Unfortunately the damage is done now all I can do is wait for my hair to heal and grow out before putting anymore bleach. There’s no fixing it without more damage. I’d suggest people to see a master stylist if they’re going to a salon they’ve never been to.

I had always done my hair myself (poorly) because I get anxious going to fancy hair salons. I have been going to La Luma now for about a year and a half (love Daniella! She does amazing colour!) I would 100% recommend this salon to anyone. Prices are very reasonable, especially if you are willing to have your hair done by a student. (Booking is very convenient, online and you can choose the level of expertise you wish).

Just had my hair done by Sam King and she went above and beyond my expectations! She was incredibly professional, kind, easy to chat with and overall an EXTREMELY talented hair stylist! After my appointment I ran to a store & the store owner raved about my hair before I even had mentioned that I had it just done. I’m looking forward to seeing Sam again soon for my next appointment.

Alaa was amazing! She cut off about 7 inches of my hair and styled it beautifully.it looks and feels amazing. She gave me exactly what I asked for, and managed to make such a drastic cut less nerve wracking for me. All the staff there are extremely friendly and welcoming, but professional as well - which made my visit all the more enjoyable. Pricing is beyond reasonable for the amazing service provided. I would highly recommend this salon.

I have been here many times and the service is fantastic and professional. I have had color and highlights and cuts and loved each one. Also, it does not take longer than any other hair salon I have been too. I would highly recommend.

I started coming to this Salon for the financial benefits of the student services, which I always had good results with. Now I see one of the Senior Stylists and my experiences have been phenomenal. They are very thoughtful and honest about what will work and what won't work, great advice on haircare. The whole team works together and the atmosphere is great. My kids also love coming here for their haircuts.

This was my first visit to the salon and I was thoroughly impressed! Everyone was lovely, polite and welcoming. Pricing is very reasonable as well. I had a vague idea of what I was looking for when I came in for a cut but Daniella was able to take my idea and give me the first haircut that I’ve truly loved in a very long time. She’s certainly very talented and I can’t wait to see what she does when I’m back to have my colour done in a couple of weeks!

Awesome hair cut. I saw Mallory (who is a student) and she did a great job. I have curly hair and was weary because my last hair cut the lady thinned my hair and made it frizzy. Mallory fixed it! Definitely recommend.

I’m so happy with my hair! Went in not sure what to expect, but Alaa did everything I didn’t even know I wanted and the outcome is the best my hair has ever looked. Will one hundred percent be back!

Today was my first visit to La Luma & I will without a doubt be back. Charlotte was absolutely fantastic- Super informative, knowledgeable and skilled. Sad she will be done as a student soon, but glad I got to see her while she was there. Beautiful, clean, salon with friendly staff. Reasonable/affordable rates. Impressed and pleased!
