Lai Lai Chinese Restaurant

This is a take out place only now. The prices are good and the combo plates are plentifull. I recommend it.

I have been going to Lai Lai's for over 10 years. I live in Gatineau Quebec and I will make the trip for their food.

This used to be my go to place for Chinese when I lived in the area until 2019. Something has changed since then and I am SO disappointed. I have ordered twice recently and both times the food was poorly cooked and tasted cheap. I will miss Lai Lai: (

Food was clearly microwaved, soggy, burning hot on the outside and cold on the inside. Egg rolls taste like they’re from the frozen section at the grocery store. I do not recommend.

Very disappointed - I have been ordering from Lai Lai over 10 years very satisfied but tonight all vegetables in almond guy ding were raw, the garlic spare ribs were dry, no sauce added.

Not the best. Egg rolls taste like they sat in a dirty fridge for 3 days, general tao’s chicken didn’t have any flavour or spice and the chicken fried rice tastes burnt.

Just ordered here for the first time on boxing day. Got the dinner for 2 with garlic spare ribs and the almond guy ding with an added order of sweet and sour pork and some extra spring rolls. Honestly this place does your typical canadianized Chinese food very well. Everything was delicious! A new go to for me.

Was not expecting much and was pleasantly surprised. Everything tasted fantastic and the price was right on!

One of my favorite Chinese food restaurants! Portion size is very generous and always hot. Always consistent so you know exactly what you're getting every time.

It was not good bones in my general chaos the food was most likely premade and sitting than microwaved or something it had the taste of leftovers that were leftovers they lie lie about there quality save your money long long noodles is right next door and doesn't have the same Americanized foods as them which disappoints me a little but the quality is great they don't have almond guy sing sttuff like your regular north American Asian take out but it's authentic Chinese food give you a real look at it I'm white and never been to an authentic Chinese restaurant. Until I moved near here but it's far better and you get to see real Chinese food please save your money or burn it these positive reviews can't be real I've ate everywhere samethin g 20+years almond guy Ging chicken fried rice and whatever combos this was worst experience ever still got the meal that I took three bites out of will take pics if wanted it's gross going in garbage Monday

My favourite little local Chinese spot. For me, their food has been consistently good and I find it reasonably priced.

Updating my review. It's very inconsistent, some times they are great but often mediocre in quality and flavour. Too often the dishes are over cooked or not seasoned enough.

I would not ear from this place again if it was the only restaurant open on the covid list. The food was extremely porus and wet even the froed stuff, the rice was no good the next day in the frigde and my whole family got sick. Ordered this two years ago and never went back since. Was so bad i had to write a review to warn people

There are a few things I really didn’t enjoy with my food but I only have two words to justify my rating and review.

Canned mushrooms.

Can’t agree with the 1 star reviews. I ordered there from Uber eats at least 3 times already and the food was always good. The chicken and beef were still crispy and the rice hot.

Typical Chinese restaurant that caters to non Asian tastebuds (the kind of stuff you would typically eat through takeout). Eggroll was somewhat cold inside which implies that it is cooked from frozen.

The food was awesome and the staff and kitchen accommodated a few amendments to their menu items to help us. The price too was amazing and fed all four us with take home. We will visit again. Also they put up with inquisitive questions from a 6 and 5 year about the chinese language. Thank you for a pleasant evening.

My skipthedishes experience: I ordered Buddha delight, General tao's chicken and chicken fried rice. Buddha delight didn't have more than one kind of mushroom and there was no tofu in it.probably the worst buddha delight i have had so far. General tao chicken was decent.chicken fried rice had NO CHICKEN.and the portion for $9.25 fried rice is pretty small. Will i order from here again? Definitely not.should you give it a shot? Not worth the attempt.

The delivery is always fast and friendly and the combos are excellent value for the money. Every once in a while though the food will disappoint. Still my local go to for Chinese food.

Their dot care about their client in the restaurant, there care only delivry the wait is very pour.with wait so long service pour the only thinks importat was the delivry

Called to order food, answered the phone and asked me to hold on 1 minute please and I waited a literal 5 minutes while they talked in the background just to see how long they were going to make me wait, after 2 minutes I knew I wasn't going to order anything, unbelievable.

Absolutely ridiculous. I ordered from here at 7 pm and it arrived at 8: 40. They charged my credit card twice and then came to my door demanding a third payment. They would not go by my credit statement. We called the lady and she was horrendous. As a businessowner she should have offered the food free as it was so late. Will never order from here again.

I ordered online via Ubereats. Food was made with fresh ingredients. Portion sizes were more that what I expected for the price paid.

Service is rude grumpy old lady. Gives her opinion about the amounts and has no paitiance after making you wait for ever due to leaving mid order to go to a skip the dishes app or uber eats. Food comes out fast and is decent portions good.

Ordered through uber eats and i wasn't expecting that much food.for the price of the pad thai the quantity was very generous.i don't normally like pad thai from local places other than thai express but hot damn it was good!

VERY DISAPPOINTED!
My husband was taking me out for Valentine's Dinner. We were regular customers here. Couldn't beleive the reception we got after sitting at a table. We were told that they were too busy with take out orders, and didn't have enough people working to serve tables. Can you believe that! Valentine's Day! They had just turned away an elderly gentleman too! I guess they apparently don't care for their regular customers. The take out orders likely bring them more money. Sad though, because this is how you loose regulars and the word of mouth that brings in most of your business! We won't be back!
