Lake Ridge Health Hospital: Emergency Room

Sadly, we had to seek emergency mental health care for a family member. Despite Covid and a very full waiting room, we were seen in a timely manner and I can’t say enough positive things about the kindness and professionalism of the ER Crisis Care Team. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You saved a life tonight. One that I happen to love.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Came in with an open gushing wound at 12: 08am and saw the doctor at 8: 45am (the next morning). Only 10 patients in the waiting room as said on the board and still it took over eight hours to see the doctor. Took almost 1 hour and 35 mins for triage and then after that everyone left for dinner and came back at 5am. All nurses we spoke to were rude, specially the ones inside the emergency area. What a waste of time and effort.

Brought in by ambulance after severe auto accident the ambulance side was full so the ambulance attendant wheeled me to the walk in side gave me a number and left me there I’ve been sitting here in pain for over 6 hours now and I’m still sitting here with no help triage nurse wouldn’t even help me with my wheel chair just stood there and watched I will never come back here unless I’m unconscious this is unacceptable service just shut the place down

Absolutely awful experience. Nurses are rude. 3+ hours and counting for appendicitis…a medical emergency…. But they moved me from the front waiting room to a rear waiting room to make it look like progress is being made…

What a Terrible place! Is this really a medical emergency room? My son was sitting there for help from 12 am till 5.29 am, and still waiting. …. Please let us know what’s wrong with this hospital?

Finally My son returned home at 7: 30am without any examination. Absolutely agree with the other patient that this place should be shut down.

This place is absolutely disgusting, I lost 6 hours of my life in this gross embarrassment of an emergency room. There was 1 Doctor for 40 people, how horrific! The waiting room area was filthy and flies and mosquitoes were everywhere. Don’t come here

Waited literal hours after my x ray got done for a doctor to address the situation. My foot was broken and it was really uncomfortable sitting on the chair for many hours with no accommodations for my broken foot.

I strongly believe there is a process problem in this hospital and there is no intention to fix it.
I took my 5 years old son to hospital with an open wound while bleeding in hospital. We sat for 1: 10 min to get to triage while my son was bleeding and I asked them more than 5 times to help with no response. Meanwhile they just saw 5 people that were before us. Out of both triage 4 people went to triage 2 and only one to triage 1. I was seeing triage one using phone for 10 min, going to washroom for another 15 min. When we were called she asked for everything related Covid except about that accident or even looking at cut. I asked her roughly how long we should sit to see doctor and she said she can not share that info! Not even the estimation. When I asked can I take my son out to get him food, she said she doesn’t know when we will be called and we better to seated.
I took my son out of hospital and we drove to north York hospital. They took us right away to triage and washed and cleaned the area so they can see what is going on. All took 15-20 min. They asked my son to walk, look at light and count to make sure he is ok. And then they asked me to give him Tylenol if he has pain.
This is just two different process and as a patient I see how different they make clients to feel.
Ajax hospital, you need to review your process and make it more efficient. With rising populations in south ajax things would be even more worse soon.

They misdiagnosed my MIL a year ago!

If I can give a lower rating I would. The people here leave you to bleed to death and they are also not required to give you their names. Please don’t trust them with your life if you plan on keeping your life. Go to another hospital if you care for your loved ones.

I I visited multiple times the last 6 months; weekend afternoon, once during New Year’s Eve and my latest visit was mid week Wed evening. Always had good interaction with staff, nurses and specialists polite and always checked if I was okay. Thank you for everything you do, appreciate everyone there

A very poorly organized emergency room and hospital overall. Rude and untrained staff. People have literally died on their emergency waiting room, with no assistance. This place needs to be shut down.

Horrible experience don’t ever come here unless you are dying. The staff here is also extremely rude, doesn’t care about the patients.

Long time waitting to see the Doctors or nurses. It takes 5 hours with me. While the waitting emergency room is small and crowded of people. I wish if there was a private hosiptal to save time and pain.

I'm questioning the mental state of the HR who hires all these unprofessional, uneducated and rudest nurses to serve a community!

One of the worst hospitals I have ever seen.long waiting hours for doing initial triage. And they again make you wait for few hours to call you inside. It's always crowded but they are understaffed. Though your situation is severe, they would not care.
It's waste of visiting here

Not sure where our tax money is being utilized because this place is mismanaged, no clear communication is given to patients and worst of all - the sequence prioritization of the ER cases is misaligned
