Highly recommend this unique and authentic Lao restaurant. Beautiful decor, cool light fixtures, and spacious. Most importantly, the food was delicious! We got the tapioca dumplings, the caramelized braised pork belly stew (served with rice), the Lao sausage (served with sticky rice), and the jeow bong pineapple fried rice - I would order everything again. The menu had lots of vegetarian options. Reservations are accepted, but it wasn't too busy on a Monday night at 5 pm.

Exceptional. Laos tradition with an urban touch.
We are infrequent visitors to the Toronto area but are fond of its rich and diverse food culture. Our recent trip took us to Lao Lao Bar and we were totally impressed!
We ordered Tapioca Dumplings, Satay Chicken and Lao BBQ Chicken.wonderful creations to savor the exquisite quality of food and friendly service, with some of the innovative cocktails to remember!

One of the best restaurants downtown, hands down.seriously, the food here beats half the boujee restaurants in toronto.highly recommend the tapioca dumplings, bbq chicken, and drunken noodles (espECIALLY the drunken noodles). If you think you’ve had good drunken noodles, you haven’t until you’ve tried these.i’m also not one to rate a place based on service, but the staff here are genuinely so great every time.which means lao lao bar gets 6 stars in my books!

So much fun and the food is amazing, warning it can get a little bit too spicy foe those that are not into spice. But its just perfect heat for me! [there are non- spicy or less spicy options too!

A million stars for creating such a sophisticated, cozy yet hip vibe that pays tribute to one of the world’s lesser-known cuisines. (But one of its best, in my opinion.) Tried the Tom Jok & Vang Vieng cocktails. The latter needed more…something. Maybe a punchier alcohol or further complementary flavour to the anise. Maybe my fault for ordering a slushie which is meant for sweeter palates. The TJok was perfect—though some muddled kefir lime leaves would’ve taken it up another notch. The deconstructed dumplings were devine, and something new to me. The Luang Prabang sausage and style of Jaow (hot sauce for the khao niaw) sent me right back to Lao PDR. Will come back every visit to T. O.

Fabulous service, and an ambiance that transports you to a different place altogether. The flavours are top notch - esp the tapioca dumplings and the panang curry, and the mango salad. Also, finally a place that isn't worried about using the right spice levels (I love spicy food) - but still finds a way to make it inclusive for all spice tolerance levels. Fantastic vegetarian and vegan options. Just wish their wine selection was broader - and wish they included natural wines.

It’s at a great location, just off Yonge St on St Joseph. The host welcomes us warmly and we were promptly seated on a busy Saturday. Honestly for all the buzz, the food was kind of meh. This is in terms of flavour. I had the pineapple fried rice, presentation was great, but flavour was seriously lacking. Felt like I could make it at home. In this economy when someone is paying $$ for a plate… I don’t want to have the feeling of “I could have made this at home”. Food was also served lukewarm after a delay of bringing it to the table. The whole experience of the food was meh. Wish I could eat with my eyes because ambiance wise it was pretty great. Service was also great.

Great date night spot. Atmosphere is A+. Good and drinks were amazing. It’s a little pricey, but the vibe and atmosphere makes up for it. I actually discovered this place on the air Canada flight as recommended restaurants.

Been here a few times and the food and cocktails are incredible. A must try if you're tired of the same spots with the same menus. The cuisine is somewhat Thai adjacent, heavy flavors. So if you're a fan of Thai food, you'll love it as well.

Have been a few times and would go again. The food is familiar but different. Very tasty and well presented. The staff is friendly and attentive. The vibe of the place is great. Cool but welcoming. Lots of plant based options. Sharing style menu. 1 appetizer and 2 mains more than enough for 2 people. Good beer and cocktail menu. Worth the visit. Recommend reservations.

Foods okay. The cocktails were pretty good. Careful if you’re booking for groups of 6 or more. They ask for 150 per person minimum spend which is ridiculous.

Excellent time at Lao lao bar! My friend ordered the basil, cucumber cocktail and I had the Sauv Blanc and then we decided to share the papaya salad, the fresh rolls, the lao bbq chicken and the panang curry. Everything was absolutely delicious but I'd recommend the panang curry over everything. The Lao BBQ chicken came with noodles and fresh mango salad.

Excellent place for a night out.

This place is awesome! Ambience is good and so is the crowd. All the food and drinks were so tasty and delicious! Lady in charge of our table was very friendly, always smiling and gives good recommendations! I loved all the drinks - La Passionista, classic Margarita, and Vang Vieng Lagoon Slushie. Food were all yummy! We ordered the pork skewers, satay chicken, tapioca dumplings, crispy coconut rice salad, mok fish and beef salad. A little pricey but definitely worth it! Definitely recommended!
