Everyone there is great! They take their time while explaining everything to you and answered all my questions. Dr. Hakim is awesome, has a nice chat with you before preforming surgery and talks you through it while performing it to. He is extremely calm and professional. I was freaking out mid surgery and he talked me down in a very calm, professional manner. I actually chose Lasik MD over TLC eye care. TlC made me feel extremely rushed and I just felt like another $$ to them, at Lasik I felt the complete opposite. I am very grateful I went with Lasik MD

Best decision I've made. Everyone is wonderful and Kevin is so good at making you feel comfortable and explaining the process before hand. Highly recommend everyone get their procedure done here.

The entire process was about 4 hours. The stars was great and the surgery itself was about 15 minutes. Dr. Hakim has a great calming voice and walks you through everything in real time. Kevin was super insightful and helpful in the follow up. Highly recommend getting Lasik done here if you it's an option.

I had an incredible experience with lasik md. From start to finish. Dr Hakim is a one of a kind surgeon. He made me feel extremely calm during the 15 min surgery. The rest of the team was also a tremendous help throughout the process - answering questions thoroughly, very understanding and passionate about achieving the best possible laser eye surgery results. I had -4.5 astigmatism for over a decade, now my vision is close to perfect without glasses, my surgery was 2 months ago and I’m still in shock with the results. The staff communication in advance of my surgery appointment was clear. On the day of, I was there for the full 4hrs from 10: 30 to 2: 30 for all of the pre-op exams and conversations. I appreciated the opportunity to review consent forms and talk to Kevin and Darcy, both of whom were personable and answered my questions well. I do wish that there had been less time spent waiting in the waiting room for my surgery turn. I suggest bringing food and a full water bottle with you - they do have cups for water but no vending machine or cafe in the larger building if you are hungry. Overall the staff were very kind and warm and professional which made my patient experience a positive one.

Initially I was quite nervous to trust my eyes in someone’s hands. The thought of complications which could literally end my career was top of mind. With that said, knowing I was in the care of a knowledgable, experienced and proven team gave me the confidence to move forward with the surgery.

LASIK MD was very good. Walked me through the whole process and had very good service! They followed up with me after the procedure and. Would recommend them to anyone!

While I found the Kitchener LasikMD clinic staff to be very friendly and accommodating, unfortunately since my surgery on Sept. 23,2022 I have come to realize that I was not a suitable Lasik candidate in the first place due to a number of pre-existing risk factors. My outcome has not been positive as a result. During my pre-op process, I was told that I did have risk factors that may make me susceptible to certain adverse outcomes, but "not to worry", and that I was an "excellent candidate". At no point were these possible outcomes explained to me in detail. In fact, I was told not to worry too much about the details in the consent form as it's all just "standard procedure".

My experience with Lasik has altered my previously happy, active life in the worst ways. Had I had a proper pre-op assessment, and had I been given the opportunity for informed consent, I likely would never have had this surgery. I've since connected with dozens of people who had similar experiences. Many of their lives have been permanently ruined.

To those considering Lasik: it is NOT worth the risk.

Everyone in the office made me feel so comfortable. They spent time answering all of my questions and they never made me feel rushed. During the procedure Dr. Hakim talked me through each step which helped me relax a bit more. Overall, it was a great experience. It has been less than 24 hours since the procedure and I can already see better than I did before with my glasses.

Had a consultation January/2023, I was given 2 options for Lasik surgery, I was told I was not eligible for the lens replacement that I have to be 60 years old.
I decided on the Advanced Custom Lasik surgery priced at $3690 when I arrived March 2 for my surgery at 2pm I was informed that I had to now pay $4090 (All lasik) because the surgeon recommended this.
I had my eyes scanned then rechecked before the eye surgery, I went into the OR & Dr. Hakim explained that I was a better candidate for lens replacement due to my vision & that the Lasik surgery would make my close up vision worse. I said to the Dr. That I was told by another Dr. I was not a canidate for lens replacement.
I was asked to have a seat in the waiting area and another Dr. Would talk to me.
A female Dr. Took me into her office and said there are protocols and she wouldn't recommend the lens replacement or the Lasik procedure at this time. She said "I had a heated disccussion" with Dr. HAKIM about telling me I qualified for lens replacement.
Not sure why I received two different opinions on what procedure I should receive or not receive but there seems to be discrepancy in this clinic.
I left the Clinic confused, upset & angry that none of this information was given to me at the consultation. It seems to me that there is no full disclosure with this company.

The Kitchener facility could write the book on bedside manner. They explain the procedure and after affects thoroughly and make sure you understand everything before proceeding. When they say “no pain” they really mean it! Doctor Hakim talked me through the entire process as he went, making the procedure calming and stress free.

Great experience with Dr. Hakim and his team at the Kitchener clinic. The process and procedure was a breeze. Everyone helped me feel at ease. Heads up: the pain afterward is intense for a few hours, but by day 2 I was fully functional with very mild discomfort. It's worth it!

I had an excellent experience getting my Lasik surgery done at Fredrick street. Every member of the team was super supportive and good at educating in a way that made me feel genuinely cared for throughout the experience.
The surgeon was incredible and took the time to make sure I got all the care I needed for the treatment. For the surgery itself, of course it's intimidating but the surgeon made it a lot easier by being encouraging and kind throughout the procedure. I would recommend the surgery and the team at Fredrick street to anyone who asks.

Whole process was pretty seamless. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. My first surgery date had to be rescheduled but the office was really accommodating for the inconvenience. I’ve only heard of great things of Dr. Hakim and I am so happy that I got to be in his wonderful care. Recovery has been smooth. 10/10 would recommend!

Had laser done yesterday, was nervous but all the staff on site, especially Kevin, Darcy and Rhonda, were very kind and reassuring. Dr. Hakim did a wonderful job. I am very pleased with my results and my experience here!

I got the advanced custom wavefront with microkeratome procedure (sept 9th 2022), performed by Dr. Bains and his team. He was very reassuring leading up to the procedure and continued to voice all his actions while performing the surgery, so I knew exactly what was going on. This made the whole experience much more comfortable. All the staff and technicians were welcoming, helpful, and very knowledgeable, especially Francis and Kevin, who addressed all my questions and concerns (I had quite a few).

In terms of the actual outcomes of the procedure, I’m currently 2 days post-op and I can’t stress enough how worth it this was for me. I’ve had my vision corrected to at least 20/15, from a prescription of around -4.5. It’s honestly amazing waking up with clear and crisp vision and not having to hassle with contacts or glasses throughout the day or in the evening. Current side effects for me include mild eye dryness and a bit of “smudging” of bright light sources. However, these effects are minimal and already diminishing. I was told these would likely be resolved given some more time to heal and for the eye and brain to adjust to the new vision. Obviously there will be some variation from person to person, so keep that in mind if you consider getting this procedure done.

Overall, I personally advise getting LASIK performed, as it changed my eyes and quality of life for the better. Given that, I also must recommend doing your own research and familiarizing yourself with the terms, procedure types, and potential outcomes and expectations of the surgeries available.

The entire team (Rhoda, Kevin, Francis and the surgeon) went above and beyond to make sure I understood which procedure would be most suitable for me as well as the risks and post-op care to make sure my recovery went smoothly

The procedure itself was uncomfortable as expected (thankfully it went very quickly and the surgeon was very reassuring and calmed me down during the whole process) and the 2 stress balls they provided me were greatly appreciated!

Had my surgery done on Friday and I wish I would have done it sooner! What a life changer and confidence booster! Dr. Hakim and the staff were amazing! They all answered my questions with such grace and patience and Dr. Hakim made me feel so calm during the procedure and answered all my worries away. The only downside was the wait - so much anxiety build up during the long wait, I almost walked out lol. But I’m so glad I didn’t because it’s been the best decision I’ve ever made! Not going to lie, I was scared shirtless going in. Dr Hakim was awesome, talked me through the procedure as it was happening, describing exactly what he was doing and when he was doing it. Excellent bedside manner.

Every step of the way was made extremely comfortable. All staff were friendly and informative and the surgeon was phenomenal and made me feel very at ease during the procedure.

Amazing and professional staff! I will say the actual procedure isn't fun but it was made completely bearable by the professionalism of the nurses and Doctor Hakim. I highly recommend this procedure, I had amazing vision the very next day. It's like looking through a new pair of glasses, it takes some adjustment but the effect is immediate.

Long story short, all the staff where amazing but my experience with Dr. Hakim was not expected, he was upset for some reason, told me that I can not keep asking for extra exams because this is a (business place)! I immediately felt uncomfortable when a physician that I supposed to trust to the max tell me this is a business place! Given that this is my second procedure and I do have other issue in my eye and also I never refused to pay for anything! And also I was asked by one of the staff that doctor Hakim might need a letter from my ophthalmologist stating that my eye issue does not intervene with the safety of the procedure and taken care of, when I asked my Ophthalmologist, he told me that the Lasik Ophthalmologist which in my case Dr. Hakim should tell me if its safe or not. So, I'm now stuck and don't know what to do. Overall I love lasik MD but I want to be treated more professionally.

I had my surgery performed 5 days ago. The process was easier than expected. Dr Hakim was personable, respectful and explained everything that one should know regarding the procedure. I would recommend 100%.

Getting lasik eye correction was a decade long decision for me but I finally decided to do it and do not regret my decision one bit. My experience at the Kitchener location was amazing. The clinic is clean and the staff are caring, attentive and friendly (special shout out to Kevin who answered many of my questions and was able to relate to my anxieties on a very personal level). I knew what to expect every step of the way and was reassured about my uncertainties about the procedure. Dr. Hakim and his staff/nurses are very professional and knowledgeable and I trusted them wholeheartedly the entire time. The procedure is not very pleasant although it is quick and is painless. The following morning I woke up seeing the world with clarity and I could not believe my eyes. I definitely recommend Lasik MD to those who qualify and also recommend this particular location in Kitchener without hesitation.

Professional, fast, staff and MD were willing to answer questions both during pre operative consultation appointments, via phone/ email before I committed to the surgery, and on the date of my surgery.

If I had to do it again I would opt in for the optional anti anxiety med offered to me pre op. The doctor described what I was about to experience before the surgery and was verbally reassuring throughout.

My vision post surgery was not perfect. I had several in person check up appointment up to the 6 month mark at which point they established that my vision had improved from the last appointment to ~ -. 25. The next check up is at the one year mark. I purchased the lifetime warranty but my vision is not beyond the -. 75 threshold and if it were the md would assess and establish if the sick of a redo surgery is worthwhile considering a number of medical factors.

10 years to two weeks ago was the time I needed to feel confident on the procedure alone. Having worn glasses since I was about 4 or 5 yo (33 now). It was a huge choice to make. I was really anxious and nervous. But the whole team at Lasik through their exemplary professionalism and explanations walking me through every step of the process made me feel extremely comfortable and assured that I was getting the best service, treatment, and care.

Dr. Hakim himself was very courteous as he explained literally everything that was happening as it was GOING to happen during the procedure, helped me feel safe, secure and in very good hands. Now I can see and my eyes feel great!

The operation in my opinion is not for the faint of heart, but you can rest assured that if you go through with it you're getting the best treatment around.

Staff are very professional and friendly. They deliver very good service to customers. I had uncomfortable of my eye during the healing process and called at a Saturday night and one of their staff, Frances returned my call almost right away. I read the prior reviews before booking at LASIK MD in Kitchener.honestly, it set a pretty high bar for expectations.no way this place can be *that* good. I can absolutely say, the team at LASIK MD Kitchener exceeded it!

Super friendly staff during the consultation, operation day and post-op visits. They answered all my questions, and even questions I had sent over email (and they were really quick to reply). They were clear, concise and knowledgable throughout.

The surgeon, Dr. Omar Hakim, who my friend described as a magician, lives up to that reputation. Super friendly, telling you want he's doing, and most importantly keeping you positive. I didn't say much to him because I was extremely nervous and just trying to focus on keeping my nerves down. But he was absolutely awesome!

As to the timeline, from booking my consultation to surgery took under 1 month - which is insanely fast if you ever tried doing a health procedure during COVID.

I am not exaggerating when I say my experience with LASIK MD in Kitchener was life-changing.
