LASIK MD

I have done lasik back in 2011 when I was in grade 11! And till this day my vision is absolutely amazing I definitely recommend anyone who is tired of wearing glasses and contact lenses to get this done asap you will not regret this!

To be honest I have wanted to write this review for a long time but I was waiting until I did my follow-up visit. I would NEVER recommend Lasik MD.

I have recommended laser eye surgery to everyone I know but I would never recommend Lasik. Especially Dr. Keon Nia.

I was not supposed to be a candidate for Lasik (mind you this was about 7 years ago) but since Lasik treats everyone like cattle and just wants the money - they did it. 5 years after my surgery my vision in my left eye significantly decreased (over a few short months). I went to my regular eye doctor who was immediately alarmed. He asked me to call Lasik to be booked URGENTLY or he would call for me if I could not get an appointment ASAP. It turns out that too much of my cornea was removed and it was significantly thinned out.

I want to preface this by saying all of the technicians at Lasik (the ones that do your eye tests) are unbelievably kind. With the exception of Joanne Kurowski (I’m not sure if she is still at this location).

When I was finally able to get checked and was informed that my cornea thinned out and I needed a corrective surgery, I was constantly blamed for “rubbing my eyes. ” This was during COVID and was told that I could not bring anyone with me to the initial appointment. Yet, when I met with one of the staff to tell me what happened they asked if I wanted someone present – which immediately set off alarm bells. I reached out to Joanne later that day via email as I had several questions, but of course, she only got back to me by phone as I’m sure they cannot have a copy of these conversations to avoid admitting fault. She was very rude on the phone and again blamed me for “rubbing my eyes” as the reason that my cornea thinned out to the extent it did.

When I went in to do my surgery (during COVID so we could not leave to get food), I was taken in after SIX HOURS because Lasik kept doing consults for other people wanting laser eye surgery. My appointment was at 11 and I left when they were already closed – without eating anything all day. Keep in mind this procedure was no more than 30 minutes. It really was like cattle coming in and out.

I did the corrective surgery – FOR FREE. I imagine if it was my fault, I would have had to pay for it, especially given that I did not go to all the follow-up appointments after my one-year mark (at least to Lasik – I went to my own eye doctor). I believe that was the stipulation to get any corrective procedures for free (but I am not 100% sure). During the procedure with Dr. Nia (who I wish I didn’t have to have again. Although my eye doctor advised me to go with the same doctor in case I need to file a lawsuit.), he and Joanne were joking and talking to each other pretty much the whole time. I understand there are machines that do everything. But given the circumstances, I would have expected a little more attention.

The only reason I am writing this now is because I have been following up with my own eye doctor who has been letting me know everything is going well. Every time I go to Lasik, I immediately book an appointment with my own doctor to confirm the results as I have zero trust in Lasik MD. Do not go here. Go someone that actually cares about doing a proper job.

I had my Lasik Eye Surgery at the Mississauga location and my experience was fully satisfactory. They ran multiple tests before the main surgery and told me about my eye health and the options I have for surgery. The main surgery took less than 5 minutes and I was able to clearly right after it but for the first day, I kept my eyes closed most of the time and the next day, I was able to see and work as usual. Thanks for the great experience.

Before deciding to get surgery I was nervous like anyone else, but I’m super grateful to my colleagues who were so supportive even when I was unsure.
Amy made sure my scans were done properly, my other colleagues cheered me on and that really gave me a lot of reassurance that I was making the right decision and also that I was in good hands in terms of receiving post op care. I also want to commend the surgical assistants - they went over and beyond to ensure I was really comfortable during the surgery. Vivienne thank you for holding my hands and clinical counsellor Shauniece who explained the process to me as though I was a patient, she was quite patient with me.
To be on the other side of the process I can see why LMD Mississauga is such a great place to have your surgery done

Ms. Harpreet is very Cooperative and knowledgeable. She is very polite and very Professional.

I have been visiting to number of docters and surgeon since my childhood for consultation but the services which given me by Ms Harpreet was very appreciative. She was deal with us very impressively.not even for me but she is very honest for everyone those who come to her for any help. So here I would recommend to all my relatives once a time you should talk to Ms Harpreet for any consultation. Thanks

I don’t even know where to start, but if I could give more stars I would (specifically to the Lasik MD Oakville clinic).
My consultation was at the Oakville clinic and my surgery was at the Mississauga clinic. I had gone to a different company for a consultation prior to going to the Oakville clinic. But once I met Ada and Tara, I knew I was going to get my surgery done at Lasik MD. They were so knowledgeable, informative, good-spirited, and super thorough. For perspective, I’m the type of person to avoid medical buildings like the plague, but I would go back to Lasik MD in Oakville in a heartbeat.
With regards to my surgery at the Mississauga location, everyone was very kind and efficient. It was such a smooth surgery and I didn’t even need the drugs to keep calm.
All in all, it was a great experience and I highly, highly recommend.

Got lasik 3 days ago and my eyesight now is perfect. All of the specialist I saw were very qualified and thorough. I was nervous during the procedure but Dr. Adam was great and so were the others in the room. It was quick and painless. Follow up appointment was super easy and now I have perfect vision.

One of the best decision I made in my life is to do Lasik Surgery. I had minus power in both of my eyes and was wearing specs for 20 years. I have not seen the world clearly without my spectacles. Only regret is I should have done this surgery earlier in my life. Lasik MD helped me to gain my vision and see the world with my eyes with clear HD Definition lol. The staffs are very friendly and professional. They evaluate your eyes and take many test before the surgery. You would be informed everything about what to expect during and after the surgery. The only issue I got after the surgery was dry eyes, but it was told to me before the surgery that I might be at risk to get this.
The doctor was so professional and friendly. I definitely recommend Lasik MD.
Life Changing experience for people who wear specs or have problem in their eye sight

Overall a great experience. All staff were very professional and understanding. From start to finish the entire process went very smoothly. Playing your favorite artist during the procedure is a nice touch. Thanks everyone, I highly recommend it.

Did not get the desired result, the office wanted another $90 to get it checked again. My brother did the same thing at Herzig, and had no complaints.

I had my surgery today with LasikMD and Nerissa was my consultant. I can’t express enough how patient kind and personal Nerissa was with me. I was very nervous and anxious and she eased all of my fears and made me feel very confident with the surgery with her honesty and knowledge. I had issues with my credit card, my benefits, and my referral and Nerissa spent hours with me patiently helping me and advising me through my difficulties. If you are getting surgery I highly recommend Nerissa D. If it wasn’t for Nerissa I would not have got my surgery today.

The Lasik team is incredible! They are friendly and knowledgeable; answering ever question I had, putting my mind at ease. From my first visit up until my surgery date, they kept me informed and were always available. Dr. Tam's calming and confident voice during surgery was exactly what any patient would need. My experience with LASIK MD was a 100000/10. Absolutely loved it! Overall staff was very caring and sweet! They were happy and willing to answer any questions one had. Moreover, my surgeon, Dr. VINCENT W. H. LAM, was very gentle throughout the whole surgery process, and made sure I was doing okay as well.

Got lasik done here staff were nice and everything was quick and easy. The surgery itself was really fast it was over by the time i realized what they were doing so I didn’t feel nervous at all. No pain in eyes at all even afterworlds, had 20/20 vision next day. Just make sure first 24hr to keep eyes closed as much as possible and don’t use phone and use eye drops as you should

EDIT! 6 months later I have very dry eyes that burn everyday, floaters in my vision (clear, black and black cloud looking floaters) the worst part of it, eyes randomly have a sharp pain, barley can see at night, and so on. Do your research on why you shouldn’t get lasik, just stick to glasses and don’t risk your only set of eyes.

I had an excellent experience at Lasik Md Mississauga! The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Everything was explained to me and the staff were willing to answer any questions I had. The surgery went smoothly and the doctor made me feel comfortable through the procedure. I can now see clearly and I couldn't be happier with the results! Thank you for giving me back my vision!

Best decision of my life. Dr. Omar Hakim was my surgeon. I am glad that i chose Lasik-MD. The staff and surgeon were very nice. My post operative appointments were with Harpreet Malhotra. Hello I am very excited even after 10 years of my Surgery. I still remember that 10 years ago I met Harpreet in Mississauga location. The service and care I got I ended up sending 2 family members and 3 colleagues to her. Today I meet her again for my regular eye check up and I am so happy that my vision is great and service is same that I got a decade ago. Now my wife and my Sister are seeing her next Saturday for Surgery assessment so they can get laser Surgery very soon. Dr. Rai was my surgeon. He answered all my questions and performed the procedure without complication. Dr. Rai is an excellent surgeon and I have no regrets whatsoever almost two months later. All the staff were excellent communicators and top notch professionals. I had bi lateral Panoptix lens exchange. Corrected my presbyopia, astigmatism and hyperopia in one fatal swoop! Thank you

I have been very late for this review. The only reason why I am reviewing is excellent service provide by HARPREET. I had problems in my one eye after the surgery, the only person who was listening and understanding was Harpreet. She did not ignore any of my concerns even after the surgery. We need more people like harpreet in healthcare who genuinely care about the patient. She was in constant touch with me till the problem resolved. I can not thank you enough harpreet!:)

Poor poor customer service, cannot believe the upselling, people must be on commission - will not return even for my follow up visit, yes I have problems the day after but will have the hospital take care of them; $5000 waste

The overall experience was ok, that is why I'm giving an average rating.
Though it's normal to have a bruise in the eye, which I was told later, it would have been better if the expectations were set correctly it would not have made me anxious later. Plus I felt little bit rushed in the surgery room.

Best centre to get your Lasik at. Very organized very caring and they answer your questions very promptly. I really loved my experience and would recommend it to anyone who is thinking to get Lasik done

Friendly staff and all the doctors I met were positive, I have high power astigmatism but I got my 20/20 vision back. The surgery took only 2 min and would definitely recommend.

I did my surgery just over a month ago and extremely satisfied. This is a game changer and absolutely worth it if you qualify for laser eye correction surgery. Getting Lasik surgery done was the best decision of my life! I now have better than 20/20 vision and I am sooo happy. This has been incredibly life changing. The procedure was quick and I didn't feel any pain. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. The recovery was also easy and not painful at all. The first day my eyes just felt like I was cutting onions. But I could see my first day and now 2 weeks later I feel amazing. The Mississauga location was great and the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and so nice. Dr. Hakim is an amazing surgeon! I highly recommend getting it done! Thank you Lasik team!

It was my first time visiting the office and in was impressed. Everything was so organized and efficient. Staff and the surgeon were all friendly and made you feel comfortable.

I got my LASIK done on February 25th, 2021. All the ladies who checked my eyes and conducted tests prior to the surgery were nothing short of amazing. Sadly, I dont remember their names, but each had such a calming demeanour and all were very genuine.

I did experience one shortcoming though. I feel as though LASIK is missing one last checkpoint between patient and staff immediately after completing the surgery. The moment you get off the chair and your eyes are quickly checked by the surgeon, the door is opened for you to leave and the next patient is brought in. My legs were quite wobbly from some degree of shock and I would have just appreciated someone to be there as I walked out of the operating room.

I think my experience could have been near perfect had there been a staff member to walk with me back to the waiting room, maybe ask how I was feeling, if my ride was on the way etc, even if just for a minute. I felt like I was operated on, the door opened, and I was left walking into the waiting room alone not really knowing if I could sit back down to wait for my ride, or leave, so I just left. It felt like there was a last interaction that was missing.

Great place and amazing staff!

The staff made sure everything went smooth and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. The reason I gave 4 stars is because during my consultation I wasn’t informed that I would have to arrive two days prior in order to qualify for financing. This caused an hour delay. Other than this minor setback I had a great experience and would recommend them to anyone.

I had a great experience at Lasik MD. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and Dr. Bashour did an amazing job! The procedure itself was super quick and painless, and I’m very happy with the results! I would highly recommend the LASIK procedure to anyone who is tired of wearing contact lenses and/or glasses. My only regret is not getting LASIK done earlier!

Incredible to say the least. I had RLE surgery in February and my vision is 20/20 if not better. I can even read fine print with no glasses. There is a bit of a downside with halos from lights at night but honestly the upside of perfect vision is well worth it. I highly recommend LASIK.

Got this during reading week and now I have 20/20 vision (I've had glasses since I was 8 and I was -6 in both eyes WITH astigmatism). Dr. Omar Hakim was so amazing throughout this process and assured me that my eyes and vision are his responsibility and he guided me through the entire surgery which was not even 10 minutes.summer 2021 here I come.
