We tried to eat her recently. We were told it would be a 25 minute day which we were fine with. As we were waiting and admiring the food, they came and told us we had to stand outside it in the freezing cold. It was -15 degrees and our party included elderly people so we asked if they could let is wait inside. The waitress told us she didn't care. When we pointed out that she was basically asking us to leave, she just shrugged and said "great" Appalling service
Edit in response to owner's response: we left your restaurant feeling unwelcome and unwanted. Perhaps you remember the encounter differently; we felt the waitress showed no empathy or caring. One member of our party commented that this must be a cafe for locals, not for people like us. You ruined our day, that's how terrible you made us feel. I appreciate that restaurants usually ask people to wait outside, but it was very cold someone in our party has a physical disability that makes it very painful to stand/wander in the cold. One would hope that you could have some compassion for that and make some accommodations but you made it clear that you don't care.
This place is great. We’ve been back several times. I always get the son of a rise breakfast sandwich- egg, avocado, bacon, mayo, incredibly good biscuit. The staff is friendly too. Can’t go wrong.
I got the frozen biscuits to bake at home… Wowow they are incredible! If I had to pick one thing to eat on a desert island it would be these biscuits.with extra butter and jam!
The patio is a lovely space. We were unfortunately disappointed by the service and the food. We waited over 45 minutes for our food to be ready and both of our meals were cold when we finally got it. Perhaps dining inside the restaurant would have been a better experience.
Have ordered a bunch, super tasty food! Disappointed in my service this morning. Two breakfast sandwiches for pickup was over 45 min wait. And not even sammies that had fried chicken or anything. Just bacon and eggs. Tasty but expect a wait. If truly does take that long to prepare an order, maybe adjust the ritual app time settings so it doesn't tell us our food is ready for pickup when it's going to take another 20 mins.
They live up to their name. Took so long to bring our order - at least 45-50mins. Service is extremely slow and the food does not taste great either. The food is bland. I ordered a sandwich which is served with a side of fruits. The side consisted of 2 pieces of melon. The food was cold when it was served.
Great staff and food. On that day, it was crowded before noon on Sunday, but staff was very helpful and polite without showing signs of being busy. Food was really good I really liked the biscuits there. Fluffy and flavourful. Now, one of my favourite cafes in Toronto.
Cute decor and the food was good. I had the fried chicken which I found a bit heavy but overall good flavour and juicy.
As for the service I would stay away unless you want to wait 50min to be served a cup of water. I understand that food can take time to make however the water instantly appears from the tap and it’s the bare minimum you can provide as a server. And no we cannot use the excuse that it’s busy since we came an hour before closing and many customers had left. So I would save the time and go to one of the many Toronto breakfast establishments that provide food of similar or better quality with far superior service. In conclusion very disappointed at the service and it’s was enough for me to not come back as I did sense the entire staff and the way the establishment was run was a bit disjointed and definitely a lot of room for improvement in that regard.
What a gem in the Upper Beaches. It is a perfect place to have a cheerful weekend brunch. Just be aware that at least 30min waiting might be unavoidable if you are planning to visit at the prime time on the weekend. The cinnamon pancakes are the must-try! Highly recommended!
While the biscuits are a staple, don’t sleep on the pancakes. Either way, can’t go wrong with you order. One of the best brunch spots in the area, if not Toronto.
Truly some delicious food. Their biscuits are so buttery. You absolutely can’t go wrong with a breakfast sandwich from here. You might as well grab some of the jalapeño cheddar biscuits while you’re there (you’ll thank me later).
I forgot the name of the meal I got but it was fried chicken, biscuit, side salad and mac n cheese all in one for about $22. Everything was delicious except the chicken was not as tasty as I had hoped. It was very crispy which would have been great except when you cut into it, everything fell off so it wasn't a part of the chicken anymore. The portion was a bit small for fried chicken (though it's deceiving in the pic, it was mostly batter) but the rest of the meal made up for it. The biscuit was by far the best thing ever. I would definitely come back just to eat that!
Service was okay, lots of young staff that are still learning the ropes. Great atmosphere and lots of tables. Happy we got a table on Saturday at 1pm.
The food and service were amazing. Friendly staff, divine food that was fresh and exactly as described! The cortado was a touch tart but still smooth and rich! Can’t recommend this place enough
The mockery of real food! Fried chicken inside sweet biscuit! Human nation have lived thousands of years and no one has thought about doing this! You know why? Because it is absurd, oily, unhealthy, and distasteful!
The best breakfast spot in Toronto, without a doubt. The service is super friendly and the cooked-to-order food is as fresh as it comes. The only problem is that the breakfast sandwiches are so big, you don't have any room for lunch!
I had such a yummy breakfast! The biscuits are to die for and everything was so fresh. I had to go back for the farmer’s club and the grilled cheese. Too many good options!
This is THE spot for breakfast! I love pancakes & they are always my default breakfast at any diner or café and Lazy Daisy has hands down the best pancakes I have ever eaten in my life. So soft and fluffy & they don’t deflate or anything. The restaurant is a bit small and cramped but it’s totally worth it.the biscuits (scones) were amazing too, soft but crumbly and great layers.
Had the mac n cheese, shared a bit with my boyfriend and are now both feeling sick just 20 min after eating. On the verge of puking and plans for the day are delayed and hopefully not canceled thanks to our decision to eat here. It also tasted awful, (I literally told my boyfriend "It tastes like i'm going to throw this up later" which might come true) but had to finish due to the price. I saw it sitting on the counter for a while since the waiter didn't bring it over for some reason. Dont let the decor deceive you:/
What a cute little cafe and breakfast spot. Their buttermilk biscuit sandwiches are so tasty and smells amazing. Friendly staff with great service. Will come back again:)
The secret to a good Breakfast is a good Biscuit and let me tell you Lazy Daisy makes a mean Biscuit. With the different flavor options you cant go wrong. Furthermore when you delve into the extensive menu you will be Pleasantly surprised and Blown away.
Also try the Sap Succer sparkling water it is on point.
Lazy My Daisy is a top pic for me and should be for you too. Get on that.
The food was okay, the wait was ridiculous. Not worth it with so many other spots in Toronto for a good breakfast. The worst part is they mislead you. We were told 15-20 minutes to pickup our food, so you go back to get it at 15, the. We waited another 20 minutes standing at the pickup counter.
Lovely restaurant. Quaint decor. Friendly service. Not busy so not a long wait. My wife and I had lunch on Wednesday on the beautiful patio. Had soup and sandwiches all made from scratch.delicious. Highly recommended.
My boyfriend just got us take out breakfast there and it was delicious. However, he had to wait 50 MINUTES for them to get the food ready, prioritizing food delivery orders. He had to ask them twice for them to start preparing our food. I'm so disappointed because I was super excited for the gluten-free options.
At first I was unsure of this very unassuming cafe until the first bite of the breakfast sandwich. Absolutely amazing. Their biscuits are bar none and one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had.
The only things that was a negative was having to repeat my order 15 times through the plexiglass window and the order was missing items - but was never charged for. Better service is needed.
This place is probably great in person hopefully they can re-open soon and offer a full menu. Only bread & sandwhich available these days, not many options, and prices are 2$ more when ordering.
Finally made it in, vibe is great, options are delicious. Had the Hi-Rise and was not disappointed. The biscuit is absolutely amazing. Loaded with egg and cheese, avocado, and bacon? ! Whatmore could you ask for. Coffee is great, vibe is very cool. Definitely a reason why there's a line up every weekend.
Great place for families, good food, great atmosphere! Absolutely loved it! Went on a Saturday morning and had no problem finding a table, busy but not chaotic, good fast service, really great place for kids. Will definitely go back!
Absolutely loved this place! It's a great spot to come for lunch, enjoy a good coffee, and bring the kids. Our little one enjoyed the train table and selection of books. She loved the kids grilled cheese as well. The burrito was filling and delicious and the latte I had was excellent. My only gripe is the chocolate milk for kids being made from a poorly mixed syrup and white milk which is a big drop in quality from most of the other items on the menu.
This place is perfect for a casual brunch. Lots of seating and family friendly. Kids love the toy trainset here. The biscuit breakfast sandwiches are popular for good reason. The crispy and chewy biscuit is so good!
Super good food and kind service. Be mindful that the place is usually pretty busy however they are very efficient. Everything is locally sourced from the best farms in Ontario and prices are fair. Highly suggest the Hi-Rise breakfast sandwich if youre up for the task!
Breakfast was very tasty. The service, meh. No one greets you when you come in, they could at least say hello. You order your food, the cashier gives you a number for your table and you wait patiently for your food. When it’s brought to your table, again very little to no interaction with staff members. Smile people, you’re alive, you have a job and life’s is too short enjoy and live it up.
Terrible food and to expensive. It Is literally a rip off because they buy their bakery items and sell them at a homemade price. This is a scam because they charge so much just for drink, as if they frikin make it out of gold or something. They hire students their who are under paid and inexperienced
Been coming here for years. Awesome cafe. Great food. We are vegetarian and really enjoy the veggie rise and pancakes. Had a small issue and both the owner and manager were super responsive. Also love the atmosphere. Works well with kids!
Lazy Daisy was home before we had a home in Toronto. Its homely, relaxed, family friendly atmosphere (and the breakfast burrito, highly recommended!) stayed with us for the time we had to return to our home country after a failed try to secure a job with a sponsored visa. It gave a very articulated memory, an essence of what this town means for us to cling on for the year of waiting for our permanent residency. We received ot thankfully, we moved back to the neighbourhood and if you swing by Lazy Daisy on a Saturday morning, and see a happy, loud family nomming on Lazy's amazing brownies, grilled cheese or breakfast burritos, that's most probably us. Oh! And the coffee is really great too!
Great food for breakfast, dont expect a big meal because it isn't but it isn't your greesepit breakfast place. It is quality taste and quality food. I've had the breakfast burrito (awesome) and the son of a rise and keep going back for more.
Very charming place with good healthy food. Orders are placed at the counter and coffee is self served. The menu has a good variety and is geared towards people that want food that is local. The meat is from the butcher next door and the eggs are from a local chicken farmer. The place is a little on the noisy side for my wife and I which is okay just not what we prefer. There were a fair amount of young children and a section set up where they can play. All in all it was not a bad experience just not one that we would go back to.
Great drip coffee and cortados, gluten free options and really welcoming and accommodating space to bring babies and kids. The only "opportunity" is that the food portions are very small so that you end up paying $10 or $11 for a very small breakfast sandwich (mostly bread, egg and a bit of veg and cheese) and are still hungry.
Nice place for breakfast, and their lattes makes you feel that you are in heaven. Also it was good to find Latinos working there. I got really good food, best latte ever and the best attention that a coffee shop can gices to you
Overpriced food, small portions, over-cooked bacon, hipster staff indifferent to customer service, and the coffee is not very good. I have worked in the area for over a year and I've had enough bad experiences that I won't be going back.
