Le Baratin is some of the best value food you can get in the city (for a nice night out).
They have a promotion every Monday for $10 cocktails which are phenomenal; and every dish I tried was great.

I do recommend the duck breast, whatever their special at the time is, and the steak & frites

Been there 3 times, authentic French cuisine with slight variations and modernizations, small space with cozy atmosphere.

This is a lovely little restaurant that I often go to celebrate milestones with my husband and with friends. I love the menu format of choosing each course for a set price. The menu rotates and I've never been disappointed by a dish. Highly recommend the steak frites and chocolate mousse. And, if you have a peanut allergy (like I do) they are very allergen aware and do not use peanuts in their kitchen.

I booked for a group of 6 for my husbands birthday and I was a bit hesitant to go with a large group just because it looked like a smaller space online so wasn’t sure how it would be with a big group, but went through with it based on great reviews. We had the best night and had a great table by the window with lots of room, it didn’t feel squished at all. Our server was amazing, he never missed a beat, was kind and friendly and took great care of our group. The food was so delicious, well prepared/seasoned and came perfectly timed. The atmosphere is so warm and cozy but very lively. You can tell it’s a well loved restaurant by the patrons. I’ve been to France many times and this is the closest I’ve felt to being there while in Toronto. I will highly recommend this great little spot to many. Thanks for a lovely night!

We loved everything from the duck rillete and beet salad to the steak frites and creme caramel. Wine and service was excellent and great ambience. Our second time here but certainly not our last.

Here to celebrate my friend’s birthday. The escargots in p1 were delicious with a chewy texture. However, the flavoring of the duck breast in p3 is very weird. I’m not into the sourness. The steak my friend ordered (p4) was acceptable. Overall the food quality was mediocre at best and definitely not worth the price. If it was any other casual occasion I’d be fine with it but it was my bestie’s birthday and I had expected better experience than this.

What a great experience we had at Le Baratin! Everything was so delicious that we forgot to take a picture of the mains (duck breast and steak). It definitely hit the spot for us. Great service, cozy atmosphere. We recommend.

I have been going to this restaurant since I discovered it in 2019. Love the place, love the food! Definitely recommend if you want to have a great time with hreat food and wine! You can even order wine to be delivered at your home and their rillette!

Nice cozy place, small, feel like home. Service was great, they really pay attention to detail and it was pleasure to be there. Meal was excellent. I had bennies and it was fantastic. I like everything about this place. Thank you and I will be back.

My wife and I went here with some friends for dinner. It's a small restaurant so you need to book a reservation. You can pick from a set menu either 2 courses or 3 courses. The 3 course meal is about 60 dollars per person. The servers are friendly and very prompt. We never had an empty drink on the table. The food quality is amazing and the portions are large.

They got good foods, services are okay, little tiny room. But you can choose one main dish, one entree, one dessert for a very good price in French foods. I recommend the snails or the ducks sauce with bread for the entree, lamb shank or duck breast for the main dish.

Lovely neighborhood spot equally great for a lunchtime catch-up with a friend or a romantic night out. Everything is spot on, service is always warm and attentive, plus the chocolate mousse is killer.

Maybe the most amazing food I've ever eaten in my life. My husband almost cried when he tasted the risotto. The escargot was heavenly, the duck was some of the best I've ever had, and the chocolate mousse was to die for. We will come back to Toronto just for this place alone. 10/10 worth every penny.

We got the 3 course menu for $58. The appetizers were amazing, got gravlax and the duck rillette, both were packed with umami and complex flavours. The bread was also so delicious? ! The crust was crisp while the inside was soft and not gummy. For the entrees we got the steak frites and duck breast, both were tasty but we liked the steak frites more because of all the different textures and flavours. The duck was good but it was tougher than we thought and we weren't sure if it was supposed to be! For dessert (we were very very full by now) we had the orange creme brulee and poached pear. I would recommend both because the creme brulee was so light, fresh and creamy while the pear was so perfectly spiced that it felt like a warm hug.:) Because we went during dinner time, they were super busy so you need a reservation and expect to dine for at least 2 hours as service between dishes can be slower.

We went here for my boyfriend and I's 1st anniversary and we found the servers' hospitality and aura pleasant. We chose to get the entree and dessert only and a 1/2 bottle of wine. I was excited to go here but I could only give it a 4/5.we found that there's a lack of presentation in the food and dessert. I hope to come back and try more of the rest of their menu though!

Food itself was 5/5, I tried the gravlax appetizer and fish special ocean perch in a orange buerre blanc sauce that I’m not forgetting anytime soon ️ And shout out to Ryan our server who was very attentive throughout.

Taking out a star for mismatch in the menus and website vs what the serving team knew. I have a religious dietary restriction which is why I was making sure that the food I ordered was not using the veal stock mentioned on the website. The serving team had to confirm several times. Even dishes marked vegetarian such as risotto could potentially be cooked in beef based broth so if you have restrictions make sure to double check with the team. The soup also came with a bacon crumble that was not explicitly mentioned and it was difficult for another member of our group.

It is a very small space so it gets pretty loud and it was also hard to communicate with our server at the start which led to some confusion.

Rocky start to evening, but to their credit we left we very happy and full stomachs

It’s a small restaurant that serves around 25 people. So I recommend you do a reservation. The place is full of details, beautiful decoration and helpful staff. For sure the food came from heaven, everything we order was delicious. Nothing to complain, I highly recommend it

If you love classic Frennch food then this place is a hit. For entrees we got the duck breast and braised lamb. The duck breast was so soft and juicy, the braised lamb was supper tender with a flavorful hearty broth. Finished the meal with chocolate mousse and raspberry tart. C’est succulent!

We went for the first time as an early valentines dinner, servers were very helpful in explaining the prix fixe menu, and the feature board.
I ordered the pate to start and the lamb shank as my main, both were excellent! My wife had the mussels to start, followed by the steak frites, which she really enjoyed.
I ordered the cheese plate from the appetizer menu as my 'dessert', to round out my three course meal, and we shared it between us.

Good wine list, and they have a to-go selection, all at a good price!

Great place for a great French meal, without paying a fortune and getting small plates, served by pretentious staff.

Some of the best french food I have had! Croque Madame was delicious and the side salad was perfect. Lthe brunch drinks were very good and reasonably priced. If you have the time to lounge and aren't in a rush to eat, this place is perfect.

I wanted to try this place for a while and heard about it from my friends as well.
It is a cozy small restaurant with a great atmosphere.

You can only choose from a 2 course or 3 course menus option. Not possible to choose a la carte.

We had smoked salmon gravlax and smoked herring with potato salad for starters. And they were both amazing.
Steak and fries and lamb shank were for main, delicious but portions were small. We were thinking to go eat somewhere else afterwards

We also had crème brûlée for desert and that one is absolutely fantastic. Probably the best in town.

The service and the atmosphere are definitely phenomenal. The price is affordable with great potion of dishes. I can say the only drawback is that the appetizer is too salty. Perhaps it is just personal opinion, but it is really to salty for me so I have to drink a bottle of water. Other than that, everything is good.

Absolutely delicious! We had the steak frites and duck leg confit (daily special) for our mains and both dishes were spectacular. From the caramelized onions on the steak, to the crispy & delicious skin on the duck leg… I am still dreaming of this meal. And dessert… I mean, the poached pear was the most amazing way to end this meal. Beautiful medley of flavours. The service was friendly and efficient. The restaurant was warm and intimate - great for date night.

Fantastic French food. The chicken and lamb had fantastic sauces. Both were very tasty and great balance subtle with chicken and gravy sauce and a hint of sweetness in lamb sauce. Selected some of the cold/room temperature appetizers and it was good, Foie Gras and the other rilette canard app. Should have tried some of the warm appetizers.
There was a pear dessert and if the pear was warm/hot with the accompanied ice cream and chocolate syrup and nuts it would have been even more fantastic
Parking is really bad in the area that it might be better to Uber

Great spot. Food and service was 10/10. You get to pick between a two-course or three-course dinner, both of which are modestly priced. The portion sizes were all perfect, the dishes were beautiful, and the wine selection is excellent. The restaurant is small, but intimate. A fantastic experience, overall. Can't wait to go back!

Really wonderful cute cozy French restaurant. Our waiter was very charming and fun. It’s a set price for 2 or 3 courses, and it was hard to pick from all the great options. The potato cheese tarte was unique and really special, although heavy. The butternut squash soup was delicious. My partner had the escargot and duck, and enjoyed both but said he had also had better before. For the price, the value is quite good, but the bill certainly adds up if you have alcohol too.

New favourite spot. Good people, good food, good wine, astounding price point. This is going to be our weekly night out. Best foie grois we have had in years. A real neighbourhood gem to put in the books. See you all next Wednesday ;)
