Spoke with Megan over the phone and over email regarding a special cake order for my wedding. The staff is courteous and completely accommodating. The vanilla cake was absolutely beautiful and perfect! Not too sweet, and guests loved it
Would absolutely recommend this shop to anyone looking for great bespoke service
Thank you thank you thank you

I am so blown away with the excellent service from Rick. He was attentive to our needs, gave us recommendations and samples for my little one and mom. I would come back and tell my friends all about Maxim.

We’ve been going to the one on Finch for years but the one in Fairburn was just so lovely. 10/10. The hospitality was just beyond

I visited this location earlier as I wanted to pick up a cake for a birthday dinner. By the time I got there (close to end of the day), there were only a few cakes left. I wanted to get a strawberry shortcake so I asked the staff if they may have another one in the back. The staff checked with whom I assume is the owner, and the owner offered to make me one on the spot given I had 10 minutes to wait. I gladly accepted her offer and she asked me to take a seat and even had her staff bring me a bottle of water. Aside from the strawberry shortcake, I also picked up a few more desserts and they all looked very good! I will definitely be back to try the other delicious desserts they have to offer! P. S. The shop is clean, comfortable and even had a few tables for customers to sit and enjoy their drinks/desserts/pastries.

New bakery near First Markham Place. Mediocre.

Ordered 6 slices (no tax) to try a variety. All were disappointing and tasteless. Cake itself is dense and dry. Fruit in the cake was not fresh, we could see how wilty and old the strawberries were. Plus side is that the icing is not too sweet (meringue is quite sweet by default).

Ive been here before soft opening and then during soft opening and then after their official opening day.

Our first visit was a definite memorable one. We came maybe an hour before closing. Of course less selection because most were bought but that's okay. We got whatever cake they had left to try since it's our first time. I can't remember what exactly triggered our conversation with the staff but it had to do with I wanted to try the strawberry meringue cake. And then it led to I normally buy about 20 cakes per year and I do this with a lot of different bakeries once I fall for one cake. And so after this the owner who happen to be on the floor started talking to us and asked what we were interested in. I just pointed on some flavours they had and I was thinking of picking up the separate pieces to try so I can decide next time for July cakes. And at the payment, we were only charge the one cake. She allowed us the two slices almost three or four but I turned it down because I thought I was paying and I wasn't 100% sure of the flavour. But regardless if I had known she give it for free, I would have turned it down. She placed everything and gave it to us. And I was very thankful.

So after that we went I think two weeks later. This time they were closed. I called in asking to see if they are still open and if the strawberry meringue cake was available. They said yes but only the 8inch which is kinda big for two ppl but my husband really wanted it. And they told us we can come in even though they were supposedly closed. This was their opening week still as I saw. And they still have customers going in and out at the time we arrived. What I didn't expect is this slightly older looking woman because most of them look like they are in their twenties with the exception to this one who looks like late 30s to 40s served us at the cash. She takes her time to lecture us for coming in last minute and calling that they close at 7. Definitely caught me off guard. If you had an issue with us coming at 7, please tell us on the phone. I had no problem not going in that particular day. I knew they closed at 7 hence I called to see if they were willing to sell if I was gonna be there in the next 5 to 10 mins. Since it's a new store I thought they also wouldn't say no because right now each business counts. So I was not happy with this cashier.

Mind you my husband tipped the first time around even though we didn't sit in but because the boss was so sweet. She was absolutely great to speak to. But the second time he didn't tip because it was not what we expected.

Anyways I still gave the store a 5 because the cakes do taste good and the owner was very sweet. My husband already gone back and bought a third and there's a fourth coming before we even start our July birthday cakes.

I hope next time this one lady knows to tell people not to come in if she feels the store should be closed already and not say yes and then lecture the customers on the spot as they pay.

Really loved the cakes and pastries here — especially the strawberry and mango meringue. The cappuccino was also deeply rich in flavour. Quite the tantalizing spot!

Got a 10” strawberry meringue cake for my birthday - it was in a different form than what I’m traditionally used to but still tastes great and was easier to cut! Everything in combination was a little too sweet and could use more adjustments to suit an Asian palette. I’m personally not a fan of the glitter as it sits on top of rose petals that I assume isn’t edible.

Went today as it's their grand opening. No one in line when I got in and there were like 4 or 5 people behind the counter not knowing what they were busy at and I made eye contact with 2 people just they didn't do anything. So I called one young gentleman what I want. Got 6 slice cakes and of course my favorite mango almond meringue. Went to pay at the cashier but seems like things aren't ready and organized as they were calculating manually, won't take credit cards only cash but they offered 10% today.

There's a new trendy new cake shop in Markham! So happy Maxim's decided to open another location (original location at Bayview and Finch). They brought over their famous meringue cakes along with new and instagramable cakes! Their staff provides prompt and friendly service. Will definitely be back to enjoy a piece of cake, sit back and relax in their chic tables.

The last meringue cake was way tooooo sweet. We had this cake before and I have a sweet tooth as all my friends know me. But even for me this was too sweet.

Finally a new location in Markham that's conveniently located behind fmp! I've been going to the Finch and Leslie Maxim's since elementary school and have always loved their mango meringue cake. At this bakery/cafe, the decor is much more modern and cute. I believe the taro mousse cake is only found at this location and not at the other Maxim's. The workers there are friendly and polite. If you go, pls bring cash as their POS has not yet been set up. When I went, I ordered a strawberry meringue cake (after so many years, i'm still not sick of it!) that wasn't available in the fridge. I was asked to wait for several minutes and they made it immediately in the kitchen. I was kindly offered a bottle of Fiji water while waiting =)!

Le Maxim is a cute cafe and patisserie that opened up near First Markham place. They have limited seating. Similar to it’s sister bakery at Bayview & Finch, they sell pastries and cakes, as well as cake slices. They specialize in meringue cakes with fresh fruit such as mango and strawberry. Unique to this location is a purple taro cake which clearly has real taro in it.

Cash only during soft opening as their POS system hasn’t yet arrived.

Amazing service and really tasty cakes especially the meringue and the taro cake. They also probably have the most decent coffee in the area. I came across this place and decided to give it a try. FYI - It’s only soft opening and currently only accept cash. I definitely will come back!

Delighted to see I can now buy my favourite cake in Markham. Ordered the large (10”) mango almond meringue @C$44 to celebrate Father’s Day with the in laws and we gobbled it up in seconds. Delicious as always!

Understand they are still going through soft opening so trying to give them a pass but expected atleast a better execution based on price point and big name of Maxim.

Their POS wasn't setup yet but they didn't have a sign that said Cash Only so only found out when I tried to pay with card.luckily I had cash. There were like 4-5 people working behind the cake stand so a lot of standing around. Ordered Mango Shortcake and Napolean and heard the worker had to ask another worker which was the Napolean. Another worker insists to hand write a receipt using carbon copy invoice.totally unnecessary and waste of effort and paper as I was only buying ready made slices in the cake stand.

Took the cakes home and probably our fault with driving but small tip that other cake shops do is put a piece of small tape under the piece to avoid it moving around in the box.

Taste wise is pretty average. Two pieces were $13+ that's like 30% more than Saint Germain.if you are going to charge that big of a premium then there will be higher standards in terms of taste, service, and overall execution.so I am expecting more.

Will give them benefit of the doubt and try them again in couple weeks.

Visited Maxim new location in Markham.

Service is very friendly and saw they have tables and chairs for dine in.

But I opt for taking out. Got the palm leaves and famous egg white cake. Both taste very fresh and crunchy.

Their coffee is also very good. Freshly grind. It’s fragrant with mild acidity.

I've never left a review before, but I just had to for this place, because the service and food here was so good! The meringue cake with strawberry was very good, and I will definitely come back for more! The servers were so kind, and gave me the quick and quality service I hope for!

First time leaving a review, ordered the purple taro cake for my Filipino friend's birthday. They absolutely loved it, wasn't too sweet and had real taro as a layer inside!
Service - I arrived a little earlier to pick up the cake. I was offered tea on the house as they were getting the cake ready. It was a relaxing experience as I sat at the tables and waited.

I've been looking for something fresh to mix-it-up in the FMP area, and Le Maxim’s definitely something you don't want to miss-out on! ~

They're seemingly still in their soft-opening phase, but I was quite pleasantly surprised with regards to the very modern decor (not super common in the FMP area) and comfortable/relaxing lounging atmosphere thereof.

Since they're new to the neighbourhood and all, they were also incredibly kind enough to give-out free samples, and, you can tell, they use fresh, quality ingredients.

The staff mentioned that the grand opening is coming-up, so I'm definitely looking forward to that on June 5th
