Learner's Academy Driving School

I just got my G2 today, and if it wasn't for Ronald I don't think I would have passed. I had taken driving lessons before, but Ronald helped improve my skills so much, explained everything perfectly and in a way that made sense to me. He had me talk through my actions so I understood what and why I was doing everything. He was incredibly patient and understanding, as well. I felt more confident in my driving on a whole and he taught me skills that are not only important for the test, but for as long as I'm on the road. I would 100% and already have recommended these lessons to anyone who is looking for a driving instructor.

I got my G2 yesterday on my first try and Ronald is an awesome teacher.

He has tons of experience so he can spot major and minor issues in your driving. He will make you a great defensive driver. Ronald is extremely detail orientated and every lesson is packed with knowledge. He has a very hands on teaching approach and a great attitude towards teaching. I would highly recommend learn Learner's Academy Driving School and Ronald to everyone!

I took a G1 course with Ronald, He is really knowledgeable on rules of the road. I found that I understood a lot of his theory and I was excited about taking driving classes, but definitely nervous. I'd say the theory courses are really great. However, I didn't love the actual driving time I had with him, I found his style to be very distracting and overly complicated. Although I understand that driving is hard when you're new, I didn't appreciate being yelled at when he was frustrated, I see that there are other reviews like this. I asked him not to raise his voice at me and he got pretty defensive and I felt uncomfortable with continuing my lessons with him. I took another driving course with another school and passed my G2. I think that if you're a bit more confident on the road Ronald is a great instructor. My sister worked with him and benefited from his teaching style.

I don't love how sprint doesn't pick you up from your home like a lot of schools do, but I suppose that is preference, I also didn't love driving to go pick up food for my instructor on my driving time. Ron is a good person and I think he has a stressful job but I've had other instructors that are more calm.

He pay attention to if you did some mistakes and he will give you tips on what to do and how to pass for g2 in the first try.

Ronald was a great instructor and prepped me to pass my G test after having not driven for a while. His lessons go above and beyond the test so you are extra-prepared.

Ronald was a great driving instructor. He is very attentive and has a ton of experience. He can notice little adjustments to help you become a more confident driver. Confidence is key for the driving test and he explains things really well and in a calm manner. Would highly recommend this driving school, communication was easy and they were punctual with their timing.

Very comprehensive and time efficient course, as well as accommodating. Would definitely recommend, was more than ready for my driving exam.

Mostly good but some issues with my instructor, the driving instructor had very less patience and kept repeating the same thing with louder voice as I would understand what he was saying if he louder.

Highly recommend! Ronald is an experienced, patient, and thoughtful instructor, and I always felt very safe with him.

He taught me the skills to develop confidence on the road and understand proper defensive driving strategies. I could not have passed my G without him!

Something I’ll highlight is that the fellow students I saw before and after my lessons all came from different walks of life. There were also a lot of WOC, a testament to how trustworthy and good-natured Ronald is. Having had some creepy instructors in the past, this was a refreshing and heartwarming change.

Best driving school ever! Ronald’s patience and excellent teaching skills has given my confidence I needed, I am proud to say that I am now a g2 driver. Highly recommend!

I took 2 lessons with Ronald, and it made all the difference in terms of having the confidence to pass the driving test. I had a very erratic way of lane changing before seeing him and he gave me the right tools to fix that. Worth every penny!

I found Learner's Academy using maps, and I did driving lessons for getting my G2 with Ronald in 2021. Ronald is a FANTASTIC teacher and he helped me become a much safer and confident driver. I already had a foreign license and knew how to drive, but Ronald helped bring me to a whole new level of safety and situational awareness, and I passed my G2 road test on my first try.

And to top it off, Ronald is also a great, patient and funny guy! I would recommend him instantly to anyone who is interested in learning how to drive in Toronto!

I came to this school based off of recommendations from other anxious drivers and I am so glad I did. Ronald at Learner's Academy Driving School is an excellent instructor. Friendly and patient but also rigorous in a good way to keep you honest with yourself. He is also highly knowledgeable, and uses a lot of different teaching tools and tactics to help you understand the material. I had never driven before and Ronald was very good with answering all my questions as they came up. Passed my G2 test on my first try and I actually felt very calm and confident as I was doing it thanks to the guidance and technique I was taught. My partner has commented multiple times on the improvement he sees in my driving after doing lessons and he has even implemented some of the tips I learned from Ronald into his own driving.

Such an amazing driving school! I had Ronald as my instructor and what can I say? I was as nervous as they came and he was so patient, gave such great tips, and always came prepared with driving tools to better explain different maneuvers. My family and friends were always so impressed by the tips I told them that he gave to me as they had never heard of them before. But on my test it was those tips that helped me pass. Ronald was a great instructor! Not only is he knowledgeable, he also has patience. I went into my lessons a nervous driver, but he really helped build my confidence behind the wheel. Learning how to drive in a busy downtown Toronto area can be quite intimidating, but Ronald breaks everything down in a way that is easy to understand by using diagrams, pictures, and other visuals (which I personally find very helpful). Because of the confidence that Ronald helped me gain and his experience as an instructor, I was able to pass my G2 on the first try! My driving skills on the highway needed upgrading after 20 years of only driving in the city. Ron very patiently took me from basic driving techniques and onto the Gardiner Expressway at 100 km/hr. I now feel very confident and calm driving at high speeds.

Ronald was great, professional and really educated in teaching defensive driving. Never got upset when I did a mistake by explaining why it was wrong and unsafe. Takes time to help on problem areas and easy to book classes. Took a total of 5 classes and passed my G2 on the first try. Thanks!

Worst place thei door is closed at normal hour's, waited more 30 min no one opened, no one answering their calls even if you call 1000 times

I had a really good experience. I got my G2 in my first try. I will also be attending for my G classes next summer. Ronald is a very good teacher. 10/10 recommend. Honestly.

My son took a couple of lessons here at the Learners Academy Driving School with Albert a couple of months ago. The lessons were okay at first but they quickly went downhill. Albert would constantly raise his voice at him, telling him that he needs to pay attention more while angrily pointing at the mirrors. He would also smack, literally hit his hands off the wheel sometimes while he drove, telling him to let go of the wheel. He also kept saying that he would fail the test over and over again, and would take the wheel from him forcibly when he wasn't making the turns as quickly because he was nervous which was expected. He'd belittle him, saying that he kept making mistakes and that he "was just taught this so he should know better". Albert would often forget what happened in their previous lessons, asking my son to "refresh" him on what was happening. Overall, a lack of professionalism, lots of aggression which made my son much more nervous behind the wheel, and a lot of impatience. I will not be recommending this school to anyone because of his poor experience.

My mom and my dad did lessons with Albert many years back and had a very successful experience with him. I just finished my own lessons for my G2 road test and passed my test first try with all the help of my incredible instructor, Ronald. He is a smart instructor that is great at making sure his students excel to the best of their abilities. This is the perfect driving school to take lessons with whether you have Ronald or Albert as your teacher. You won’t regret it!

Albert is a fantastic teacher! He's patient and very knowledgeable. I was an anxious driver and had some bad habits from previous lessons with another instructor. Albert was understanding when I made mistakes, and took the time to help me correct them. He always gave his full attention to me and the road during our lessons, and I finally passed my g2 with him. 100% recommended! I needed a car for my G2 test and some extra prep before the exam, to get rid of some bad habits that I had acquired during years of international driving. Ronald is a real professional, calm, patient and great at explaining things over and over again. But he’s also strict and will catch every little mistake, which is good because you’ll get to the exam well prepared.
Also the communication was good and fast. Ronald reached out to me quickly after I had contacted him through the website to set up my lessons for the test day.

Ronald taught me how to methodically drive! As someone who has always grown up in the city, I came later to driving and needed a teacher who could give me a solid foundation. Ronald did just that. Everything we learnt was broken down into easily digestible steps. Ronald’s teaching style is both experiential and structural in that he takes the time to explain why it is important to use certain techniques. Would not have made the jump without Ronald so definitely recommend him as a teacher!

This is THE place if you want to become a confident and safe driver. Ronald is a patient instructor with great teaching skills. You get to practice Downtown Toronto too, which is extremely valuable since there's definitely more nuance to it than driving outside the downtown core. My husband and I both took G2 prep lessons with Ronald and passed from the first try. Highly recommend.

All my experience went back to 5 years ago when I was driving for G2 and had no confidence to drive because of lack of driving experience. I searched for a professional instructor and found Learner's Academy Driving School by reading reviews. Ronald is a professional and patient instructor with excellent communication skills. He explained many times a lesson and taught me driving rules with images and videos. He knows how to monitor his students and review their mistakes with a solution. Ronald is one of the coolest driving instructors that you will ever meet in Toronto. I've had years of international experience before, but he was quick to point out the differences in the standards in Ontario. He gave easy to understand and practical instructions, as well as real world senarios not taught in books or online, that helped me quickly cope with Toronto driving and curb my bad habits, within a short time. The best driving school out there at the best price possible. They had helped brake my bad habits in driving and helped me gain the skills I have now. Take both the in class and in car package it will help out a lot. Lastly, they stick with you and help you until the very end with a G license in your hand.

I took 5 lessons with Albert over a 3 week period, and passed my G2. You could say I had no idea how to 'drive' before this and could consider it a miracle.
When I used to drive with my mom, she'd be holding the safety handle (I've completed a driving course before with little improvement). After 1 lesson with Albert, she had her feet up on the dashboard. He incorporates defensive driving from the very beginning and gets you driving confidently in Toronto.
The G2 test instructor was VERY intimidating and had I not been so confident in my driving abilities (thank you Albert!), I probably would not have passed.
I will definitely be taking a few lessons before my G test.

My son Ethan took the course with Albert and Ronald and he thought they were both great. They made the in class fun and kept the kids interested. Plus they learned a lot.

Ronald worked with Ethan on the in car lessons and totally set him up for success. My son has turned out to be a very good, safe and respectful driver and we owe it all to The Learner’s Driving Academy.

I had an excellent experience with this driving school. Ronald and Albert are both really good teachers; they are both very patient and committed to their students' learning. I felt very confident going into my G2 road test and I passed!

I was able to pass my g2 road test thanks to Albert. At first, I was a bit nervous driving until I started to take classes with Albert. He gave me a lot of driving advice and showed me defensive driving. I improved a lot and I feel more confident in driving now. I would recommend people to take his classes.

I recently moved to Canada and had to re-do my driving exam even though I have years of experience driving. I took a couple of classes from Ronald to make sure I am ready for the exam and I could not recommend him more!

I passed my G2 test today thanks to Ronald! Before signing up for the course, the thought of driving made me extremely anxious, but Ronald was patient and helped me develop the confidence I needed to face my fears and get behind the wheel. These brothers are definately the best! They are for sure the reason I passed my G2! I've taken driving lessons over the years from others when I first started driving and there is no comparing with what Ronald and Albert have to offer. I took a couple of months of lessons mostly with Ronald and a few lessons with Albert after not driving for a while and wanting to get my full license. I had a lot of fear around driving and after taking lessons with these guys I feel so much more confident and safe because they teach you where to put your attention and what to watch out for so you're in control and able to react quickly.

Ronald helped me get over a lot of bad habits I developed and was really patient when I would make mistakes. Albert helped me get over my fear of highway driving by breaking down the logic of where to position myself to avoid dangerous situations.

Ronald and Albert are each truly talented teachers. Their patience, kindness and humor make them really a pleasure to learn from. I can't recommend them enough.

I took in class lessons + in car package in spring/summer 2018. Ronald was an awesome teacher. I didn't end up taking my driving test until fall 2019; but the teaching was so good that I still remembered everything - he really.drives it into you. Driving was done mostly around High Park and the Junction, with some of the later lessons around Scarlett + Eglinton in the higher speed zones. I will definitely return for more driving classes before my full G test.

I'm quite dissatisfied with my overall experience at Learner's Academy Driving School.

The only positive aspect of my experience was the in class portion. It was insightful and I did learn many valuable skills but the rest of my experience was very disappointing.

Why I had an unsatisfactory experience:

1. The instructor during my driving portion would take me on the same streets which limits my driving experience and at times he would turn up 5 to 10 minutes late to pick me up from High Park Subway Station. The lost time was wasted money as he did not add it to the end of the lesson or even add it to a future lesson.

2. The fact that Learner's Academy Driving School does not pick you up from home is a red flag in itself. The majority of driving schools provide the pick-up and drop-off from home included in their services. This inconvenience just benefits the school as they can cram in more driving lessons in a day by eliminating travel time. I do not recommend meeting at High Park Subway Station because it is inconvenient and time consuming.

3. I felt that my instructor did not give me his full attention because he occasionally took calls from clients and texted while I was driving.

4. I was told to drive to my instructors home and park in his driveway on various occasions so that he can go inside and use the bathroom for 5 to 10 minutes at a time. The thing that really upsets me about the whole situation was that he did not even thank me for waiting, apologize for the inconvenience or make up for the lost time.

5. The majority of the communication with Learner's Academy Driving School was done through text messaging. Initially when I inquired with them in regards to their services they were very proactive, responsive and quick to reply. As soon as I paid for the services and completed the classroom portion they stopped responding promptly. It was very difficult to get a response within the day and there was a lack of availability for driving lessons. At times it took approximately 3 weeks to 1 month to book a few lessons, these lessons were also not guaranteed as they were sometimes cancelled and rescheduled last minute.

Unfortunately, my overall experience with Learner's Academy Driving School was negative. I will not be recommending this driving school to anyone.

My husband and I are new immigrants to Canada and we both had our classes with The Learners Academy and were both taught by Ronald. I opted to take the 40 hrs MTO Certification course as I wanted to take the G license exam and the husband took 5-6 practise classes with Ronald for his G2. We both got our licenses this month and have Ronald and The Learners Academy to thank for it.
I would highly recommend the 40 hrs certification course for either G or G2 exit certification, even if you have prior driving experience like I did. The 20 hrs theory class covers all the facets of driving safely in Canada. I found these classes useful as the rules for driving in Canada are a little different from the other countries. The Learners Academy only allows in-car lessons once you have completed the 20 hrs theory if you are taking the MTO Certification course, so I would recommend registering for these lessons a couple of months before your test.
For the in-car sessions, Ronald was accommodating and worked around our work schedules. He may scream at you, but it is effective as I repeat his rules even now while driving:)
You are in safe hands with The Learners Academy.
Tip: I found the response is better over texts than call as they are usually with students taking their in-car lessons.

Ronald is a great driving instructor. If you want to learn how to drive safely and all the fundamentals, then I highly recommend this driving school.

Knowing how to move a vehicle is one thing but skills in driving is another thing, I have been driving for years, as foreigner from certain country you need to change your driver's licence to the one here in Ontario. I would have just book my drive test and so on, I want to do it one time and yes after my class and road section at Learner's Academy driving school, i passed my first G test (G2 exit test). Thank you Ronald, you are an amazing instructor, I stick to his logic, don't just be mute, speak after the examiner, that helped me calm my nerve. At Learn's Academy, you will definitely get more value than what you paid for. Goodluck to you if you are reading this.

Definitely a great driving school! Ronald was my instructor and he is very nice and helpful. I always felt calm and comfortable learning how to drive. You will never feel scared or intimidated as he helps you every step of the way. You will learn everything you need through in class lessons, and lessons in the car. You definetly leave feeling like a good and confident driver.

My instructor was Ronald. After I failed G test, I came for some tips and took in- car lesson before the exam & the day of the exam. I passed like a boss thanks to Ronald. I recently moved from India and took classes. I told Albert I was driving for atleast 10 years back home and wanted lessons. Albert was very patient (even when i made repetitive mistakes) and cleared all my doubts. He prepared me not for the test but for actual driving on streets and highway. Classes from him I passed my G2 in first attempt. Highly recommended and reasonable prices for the classes. Not to miss out always on time and no cancellations. Accomodated my schedule and trained me well!

I normally write no reviews, but I had to thank Ronald for his driving lessons that helped me get G2 license. With years of driving experience in India, I thought few hours of practice with a private instructor in Mississauga would help, but it did not. So, I opted for additional lessons with Ronald, and during my first class he was able to point corrections I had to make during turns, parking, maintaining speed etc. He also was able to give tips to transition from manual to automatic transmission. On the day of drive test, those 2 hours of driving lessons helped a lot, and he was kind enough to drive me back to drive test centre as I had forgot my wallet there So, a big thanks to Ronald and will surely reach out to you before my G test

If you are anxious about road tests or driving in Toronto in general, have had some trouble finding a suitable driving instructor / school, have been through a couple of instructors whose communication skills were not great and whose teaching style didn’t suit your needs - it felt like all they do is collect money and provide harsh reproving criticisms about your driving with no solutions or guidance, I would recommend DOING SOMETHING DIFFERENT - taking some classes at Learner’s Academy. This is the school for you.

I took my classes with Albert who I feel is a very good teacher and instructor. What stood out (for me) is his patience, constructive feedback, communication skills, skills in building confidence, and teaching technique where he helps you visualize your problem, provides a solution to overcome this problem, ingeniously revises his teaching technique if the problem still persists, and works with you to ensure that ‘you are on track’.

Ronald was my instructor for a total of five Private lessons, and he was clear, precise, encouraging, and yet would tell me when I was performing poorly and did something wrong. Ronald is the best driving teacher in the GTA! He's very patient and understanding of my skill level when we first met. He helped me get my "G" license in the first attempt. He saw my bad driving habits and corrected them. I highly recommend this school to anyone that wants to learn how to drive, especially how to drive in crazy downtown Toronto.

Great place to get driving experience or improve your skills and obtain knowledge of the Canadian driving rules. I took ministry approved course + couple more in-car lessons (had no driving experience) and passed G2 test right after that.

I did my MTO certified course with Ronald from Learners and he was an amazing instructor. He was patient, friendly and funny and really helped me loose my fear of driving. I passed my G2 with his help on my first try. I would definitely recommend this course to everyone!
