Super friendly, welcoming staff. We have been seeing Dr. Ruth Weintrop and Dr. Natallia Rutchanka for a number of years now, and recently brought our new puppy in to join this clinic because we feel so safe having our dogs in their care. These two are clearly passionate and educated, and will always tell you exactly what you need to know without any of the guesswork or doubt. Thanks for taking such good care.

Excellent staff. My puppy was having a nose bleed. An employee from inside ran to check her and took her temperature outside. She was really empathetic. 100% recommended.

It’s my worst experience I have ever had. Dr. Edwards was not experienced enough to give my cat constructive diagnosis and treatments.

I was under impression being proposed by all the expensive charges. She didn’t connect my cat’s past history to now to make a good judgement. Her explanation on services and charges were poor and her prescription was unrealistic administered as the size would not allow me to separate the portion. All the injections were done upstairs and not in front of me, which It was not done like this before (no explanation from her).

Also, I was not well informed with the side effects of my cats injections and meds which caused her losing her appetite. So, I need to fix the new issue cus she won’t eat and drink which will cause kidney failure.

She’s not experienced enough to make a good call which will cause the client to spend huge money (also this clinic doesn’t offer payment plans) and it made me lose my confidence on her and this clinic. Until now, I need to escalate my cat’s issue to the owner who used to treat my cat perfectly with more explanation on her treatments. Sigh.very frustrating experience.

I am speechless when my first negative review on Dr. Edwards. Within several hours on Sunday, 2 positive reviews on her came out. Feeling they were being told to make comments. To be honest, I just want to share my real experience and feelings. I don't mind we can talk again to resolve my concerns and issues but please be truthful.

Dr. Edwards did an incredible job with our two cats - she made them feel comfortable and cared for during their assessment while offering expert advice to keep them healthy. Highly recommended!

We recently switched vets and started taking our puppy to Leaside Animal Hospital. Dr Edwards has been absolutely fantastic with Murphy since we made the switch. The level of detail and research into her diagnosis have been amazing, and we have been delighted with the level of care and the treatment plans we have made with our dog. Dr Edwards definitely goes the extra mile, and the love that Murphy has for her is a testament to the treatment he receives.

Update to below conversation
Dr. Natalia called a few days ago to basically cover their bases via notes from our last in person visit. That was a questionable conversation to say the least.

As an olive branch the Dr.had stated the clinic will provide one more months of pills "for the cat" sakes. Problem is that we would have the same conversation next month (justifying a visit $ for a cat with cancer). Again this was to cover their "ethical" basis via notes on the file.

I had stated I would get back to them if we wanted to proceed with one months medication.

Here is the final kicker - they called this morning to say the medication was ready. Unbelievable lack of listening to the client and further to my point regarding this is about the revenue - not the cat.

My cat was diagnosed with cancer last year by the Leaside animal clinic and we have been buying the pain management pills from them since. We were also told that our cat had minimal time left based on her physical and fragileness.

After a year, our cat is still alive. However, the Leaside animal clinic requests to see the cat (which I understand) to ensure the pills are being used for the intended use - pain management and for the ethics that they are seeing the cat.

I offered to bring the cat in to see that she is alive. The issue, is that they need to charge for checkup for a cat that has cancer and no known cure.

Here is the kicker -the positioning by the lady calling was of the cost was to pay the operating costs (specifically noted rent on the call) of the clinic. I though we were paying that through the diagnosis and recurring pills. Which she failed to understand or conveniently did not mention this.

Last note - I am not cheap. Just questions the ethics of this practice relative to my cats health (or that it cannot change) vs.a money grab during times of economic hardships.

Totally unethical and I would suggest another vet.

The staff and veterinarians (esp Dr. Kennedy) were thorough and generous with their time and knowledge when I brought a rescue cat Libby for a dental issue. Animal welfare is clearly at the heart of what they do. Very grateful for their compassionate and timely help.

Dr. Ruth Weintrop is absolutely amazing! While we haven't got to meet her in-person due to COVID she has been absolutely spectacular with our English bulldog puppy. She's lovely, compassionate, and takes the time to answer questions/explain our visits thoroughly. 10/10 would recommend her to anyone with a puppy or any pet in general:) Thanks Dr. Ruth for all that you do!

My cat very suddenly became ill, and this clinic did so much to help him and to ease my mind while he was admitted for treatment. They squeezed him in to be seen by the vet, made tons of calls to update me and check in with him later. Dr. Munger in particular was lovely, I could see they are a very busy clinic, but she always spoke to me like I was her only concern in that moment, and never made me feel rushed. In the end, I had to make the decision to put my kitty to sleep, and she was so sweet and supportive through the whole process. I absolutely felt that I could trust this clinic with my best buddy.

Certainly one of the best vets in the city. I've been to numerous in mid town, and none compare. The team is knowledgeable, caring, familiar, and wonderful. Worth switching vets for!

The vet hit a nerve when neutering my dog and now, 4 years later, he still needs pain medicine. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! I would rate 0 stars, but I can't because it doesn't allow.

Dr. Weintrop is nothing but awesome! She has followed up my cat’s case even off the business hours over the phone. She has personalized each client’s (pet’s) situation which I appreciate it so much. Thank you and your medical team for taking of Rosie. She’s a health girl.

I highly recommend this clinic. I was really upset when my beagle/daschund was unwell. I called three other clinics who said they were fully booked, but this clinic made the space for her. The staff was exceptionally friendly and great with my dog. They made her all better and charged me way less than the emergency clinic quoted. I can't thank them enough!

Wonderful place & the vets are really knowledgeable. I loved the care my dog got here, super professional & the staff are great.
If you have an elderly animal I really recommend them, they understand the needs & care. Best vet I have been to in the city, never try to over sell me on stuff.

Worst experience and all about the money. Do your research before committing to their procedures and tests. They thrive on telling new pet owners anything that will cause you to spend your life savings on unnecessary treatments and tests. Also big on selling you a particular pet insurance and then racking up the bills, but you pay through the nose initially for every new problem they dream up. Run.

Leaside Animal Clinic isnt my main vet but might be switching soon, they were great! My puppy had an ear infection and they were able to see him on the same day. Very helpful and friendly and the medication they prescribed fixed up his ear within the week! Its nice to know they are opened 7 days a week especially in emergency situations.

Amazing staff, not out to make a quick buck, they actually care and want what's best for you and your pet.

Everyone here was so nice to me and my kitty when I came in to get my kitty vaccinated, I went to different place before and had a really bad (and overpriced) experience so I get nervous when going to new Vets. They were so kind and knowledgeable here and gave me a fair price for my Kitties vaccinations, makes me have more faith in Vets again!

The doctors are so wonderful and I trust them completely. My dog loves going there and doesn't struggle go through the door. She wags her tail and rushes in. Doctors and staff are extremely helpful and caring. I highly recommend them.

It's Sunday, 2 PM. We have an 18 year old cat with end-stage renal failure. She will be put down in two days. We've been giving her SC fluids since August. I just realized that we didn't close off our line to her fluids after giving them to her last night and our bag is empty. Leaside Animal Hospital is not our vet clinic simply due to proximity, but they're one of the closest clinics open on Sunday.
I called them and explained my situation and asked if we could buy a bag. I was put on hold and the technician came back to say that, no, since we are not clients, they will not sell us a bag. I asked why and she said that we could give our cat too much fluid. I explained that we've been doing this since August and it is our second cat that's had renal failure. She still said no.
Attached is a photo of our cat, who we love dearly. I hope the veterinarian looks at this photo before he or she denies a pet parent of what is a simple, humanitarian request. A vet should use some logic before denying something as simple as a bag of sub q fluid, which, if my cat doesn't get, will suffer from the effects of dehydration. Shame on you.
